For a temporary solution: join a group with someone who doesn’t have the issue. Thankfully I don’t think the majority of people have it.

Still having problems, still cant enter ranked arenas or unranked arenas unless im in a team of at least two.

My firewall is off, nothing is helping. please, give us some feedback on this issue its starting to get annoying ….

When you join as a party with other people… do you initiate the queue request, or does someone else do it and you just accept?

I’ve done both, and both worked without any issue. It’s only when im solo.

Exact same issue happens with me. I can initiate when I’m in a party, or accept when I’m in a party, but I cannot initiate entrance into either unranked or ranked arenas when solo.

*edited: CORRECTION: It turns out, I can only queue/initiate a group when someone who doesn’t have the issue is in the party. If I and another person in the party both have the issue, neither of us can queue, even in a party together. Also, as an additional note, the person who doesn’t have the issue is on the same network I am.

Is Kaotic.1723 the account having issues?

yes it is.

im having the exact same issue on darek.1836

Same for Upham.6137

Same here. The odd thing is, is when I was in a party, it didn’t happen to me, but when my party mate left, I could not get into arenas. It gave me a log-in/maybe it’s your firewall error.

my party mate had no issue.

A further expansion on the bun from a prior post: can be a bit wild, some stray leaves or vines or cattails in the bun. That twiggy look is nice on the NPC in the grove.

Admittedly, part of my problem is that I’m willing to change my main Mesmer’s hair/leaves (I’m content with her hair, but not as happy with it as my engineer’s big viney ponytail). Mesmers, in my opinion, like to have their hair in an elegant updo. At least coiffed/styled. But for a Sylvari, I think an attempt at a “coif” is good – basically having some loose strands in there to give some character. Some of the hairstyles have come so close… I know I’ll eventually be won over by one… So many good hairstyles, I’m just not feeling the current makeover kits hairdos for her.

I wish I was better at art, and/or finding pictures of what I’m thinking of… but some of the Norn bun styles (if not all) I think look really fantastic for Mesmers. I don’t know how that would translate to Sylvari. Definitely I think some of the suggested styles, at least similar hairstyles could work really well.

And how about a long vine + flowery one? Maybe a flowery wreath or “headband” or “clasp” with long vines for the hair. And maybe some flowers sprinkled throughout the vines. That might work for me too XD

edit: I wish I had a heavy Sylvari for that branch+flower kit look…..

Serious trouble making Sylvari

in Sylvari

I’ll tell you how I made my two Sylvari.

I wanted my Mesmer to look “natural.” So I made her green (variations on pine green for her skin, pattern, and glow, as pine is a “tree” type green and they are well, spawn of a tree). I wanted her “pretty” since she is a Mesmer. Thankfully green goes with just about any armor color since she is a plant. It flows in very nicely with armor sets and looks very natural.

My second character, well, her name means “cold night,” but I accidentally made her a Dawn cycle (didn’t realize that until later, oh well). I did a “frosted” pattern on a dark green. I ended up finding it boring. So I decided to use a makeover kit and take into account her “cold,” “night,” and “dawn” characteristics. I asked for help on these forums actually. Since I used it, she is now probably my favorite character in terms of customization. I am most happy with her, in spite of her being probably one of my least favorite professions. But it works. Anyway, since she was “night” and “cold” I chose a light skin tone (plants can look very exotic at night, and pale is more common). I chose a dark purple pattern/leaf pattern for a similar reason – it’s exotic. The pale color is also a bit of an indication of dawn, but what is most dawnish on her is her glow – it’s a bright purple – that transition color of the sky from night to day. For her face, I chose a more “creature” type face, less pretty, but still symmetrical. Her eyes also go more with the color of her glow. She has indeed turned out otherworldly and exotic, and I believe befitting of her name and cycle. I have to be a lot more careful with armors for her, though, due to her color scheme.

If I were to make a heavy (if arenanet adds a heavy profession, it’s going to be Sylvari!), it would be more “tree” like (as in twiggy and barky and I’d go for that twiggy hair with the flowers on it from a kit).

First and third pictures are my mesmer, 2nd is my engie

She’s a warrior, but it would look fine on a guardian too.

Shoulders: Inquest
Chest: Pit Fighter
Hans: Inquest
Legs: Primeval
Boots: Legion
Head: I spit on it

If you insist on a helm, take a look on:
- Banded helm
- Ascalonian Protector helm
- Heritage Warhelm
- Heavy Plate helm

She does look good! Thanks for the suggestions! I agree with spitting on helms ;P I don’t use ‘em on my Norn Warrior either. If I come across one I like, I’ll use it, otherwise, who needs head protection when you have horns? :P

I made my Charr kitty to look as nice as a Charr can, for she is a guardian, er, Charrrrdian ;P I think the Ascended helmet looks well, best on Charr ladies actually as it gives them a tiara xD I like it for my Charrdian. Thankfully I already have the hat XD But otherwise, I’m having trouble finding gear for her that I like. I really like her pattern. So a non-100% covering would be good, but particularly the helm, which, I’ll just go with the ascended one since I have one :P Beyond that, since she’s a healer, so something that looks more defensive rather than aggressive (like the spiked shoulders charr set is a bit too aggressive for a healer IMO :P). I don’t have the achievement points for radiant… (yet!)

Any suggestions? Suggestions are welcome for helm skins, too.

Attached is a picture of my kitty XD

I’d like a fancy bun type hairstyle. maybe with a tendril or two near the face. I think that would probably look great on a Mesmer. I’m not sure how that would be done… I’d like it leafy… Example though, the flower up-do was nice, it just seemed a bit “tight” with the face and I think it doesn’t look as good in simply green leaves and I’d like to keep my girl green :P

The Sylvari Armor Dilemma

Lorelei.7809

I agree… we need more leafy sets xD

I’d also really like a non-cook leafy town clothes set (I think it looks a bit goofy on other races).

My issue is that the only armor sets I can use Dryad gloves (light T3) with (that are leafy, aka Nightmare and cultural), are Snapdragon (light T1) and Dryad (light T3). I’d love to use those with Nightmare (I think the Nightmare arms look a little awkward anyway – TBH I think the arms might just be better without the skin tight covering). I’m not terribly fond of Snapdragon (though I like showing my glow, it’s a bit on the skimpy side for me – seems also rather thin). So if I were to get Dryad gloves, I’d need the Dryad top…. I’m thinking about getting a T3 sylvari set with a mixture of Light and Medium (head and shoulder pieces up in the air, gloves for light, boots for light, leggings for light, coat for medium), but looks like I’ll have to double up on the coat XB.

Any light top suggestions that might look good with Dryad gloves/leggings/boots for my Mesmer that aren’t 30g?

All the armors on the promotional page of the Mesmer profession on the website… including the ones in the video. Countess Anise’s set… The Raven set…

All NPC sets (seriously, from all races) that aren’t available as townclothes or armor…

Anything GW1-Mesmerish (less dark, more classy scholar robes for ladies).

I still haven’t found a townclothes outfit or armor set in the Gem Store that I like. But I have seen plenty that I would buy if available through the Gem Store in game on NPCs…

a permanent hair stylist kit also!

Lorelei.7809

Heya, Lorelei. Just to note, you can buy the Tormented weapon skins from the Trading Post if you would like to forgo the ticket acquisition side of them. They are between 63g and 180g depending on which skin you desire.

So if you took 180g and bought gems with them, that would make the most expensive skin cost about 1560 gems and the cheapest about 547 gems if they could be bought in the Gem Store. Or can buy gems to convert to gold to buy from the TP for a bit more.

But most of the skins are hovering between 70g and 115g, so most are roughly 600-1000 gems worth of gold in cost (in gold > gem conversion), which doesn’t seem all that bad.

It’s still a bit steep for me. I’d probably buy two of them (scepter and focus, like my GW1 mesmer had) if they were for the same price as Kasmeer’s Staff in the store (which I bought). I feel like they’re trying to induce me to gamble for nostalgia >_<

Speaking of key farming and related issues…

I’d love a permanent hair kit. But I refuse to key farm for it. It might be acceptable to me if they let the hair kits drop all year around in black lion chests. I do have a char for key farming before I decide what to do with her.

I’d buy a permanent hair kit for the price of the account bound perma harvesting stuff. But unless I really really really want to change the hairstyle of a character (I did once, due to matching issues), I won’t buy further kits for individual characters (I’m still looking for a hairstyle that isn’t the super common one that my Sylvari Mesmer has, but yet elegant).

I’m starting to give up hope on cool looking, mesmery town clothes and armor.

There just… isn’t much in the gem store that I want to pay for. And I have some gems to spend for something cool.

basically, stuff I’d buy without a second thought:
perma hair kit
Raven armor (town clothes maybe? I don’t have a norn caster, so I might have a second thought on that)
feature armor for mesmer page
tormented weapons
some Sylvari NPC town clothes (please, the starter town clothes for Sylvari were ridiculous). (more town clothes like cook’s outfit that change depending on race)

I’d like to be able to buy tormented weapons from the Gem Store. They’re something I would definitely buy, but I refuse to farm 250 keys to get one of them. I was really excited when tormented weapons came out because I love them from GW1, but once I saw how long it was going to take just to get 10 scraps (longer than the time it would take for the price to go up), I gave up on it.

I’d also like, now that we have town clothes outfits to wear in combat, more GW1 mesmer style sets. I’d also really like Raven Shaman and Countess Anise sets and that set advertised on the Mesmer profession page (basically, the sets advertised on that page, I’d like to be able to wear)! This latest town clothes set was really close to what I’d like, but I think I’ll hold out until maybe something better shows up. Also, female charr didn’t get dragons on their tails. So yeah, I’ll just wait until there’s something I like. So far, I haven’t liked a town clothes or armor set enough to buy it (and I really want a town clothes set because it’s bugging me that I don’t have any now!). Phoenix and trickster came close (Phoenix is too elementalist-y for me and trickster is too… feathery) for armor. Regarding town clothes, chef is nice because it changes depending on race, but it just doesn’t stand out there for me; Ancestral is very close, but not quite there for me (no female charr dragon tail and I’m not 100% sold stylistically); Pirate is fun, but clothing wise, somewhat boring to me. And, in the end, I’d really really like something GW1 Mesmery beyond Heritage armor (I can’t keep putting that on all my casters! It and Nightmare are the best sets for Mesmers, which is why I have a Sylvari Mesmer).

Redo Story mode dungeons: Oversight or bug?

in PvP

Posted by: Lorelei.7809

Lorelei.7809

Or intentional?

My guild finally finished the dungeon story modes (we’ve been in the game since beta) recently in anticipation of getting the tracks unlocked in PvP. Due to storymode being rather unrewarding and it being tracked in achievements, we were happy to finish them and “get them overwith” if you will (with no thought that they wouldn’t be unlocked). However, the dungeon tracks were not unlocked in PvP.

Basically, do we have to redo all the storymode dungeons? Or was this an oversight? I’d prefer to do explorable mode to unlock, but if I have to, I will do storymode.

It feels weird. I did the Karka pre event last night and just… nothing happened. It was odd. I’m still not 100% sure I like it.

I like the idea of a schedule, then I actually know when these bosses are coming up. My guild hasn’t really done them due to this problem and/or a lack of people on maps (which the megaserver seems to solve).

I think there is a problem, though, because it is really biased towards certain time zones. I think these bosses need to be done at least 5 times per day so that one time for the mega bosses would work for people in any time zone (that at least should reduce the issue). Tequatl doesn’t really work out well for me. It’s either during meal or sleeping time. The others are iffy.

Game Updates: PvP Reward, Gear, Ranks, Maps

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Lorelei.7809

Lorelei.7809

I have to agree on at least two questions/comments:
1. Will we have to re-do story mode dungeons?
My guild just finished them all the other day assuming we’d never have to do story mode again and could then PvP for the dungeon gear. And story mode is far less rewarding than explorable. My guild is a “do everything once in PvE, then focus on WvW and PvP” type guild (which means after finishing story mode, we expected that to be the end of that, then we were going to go on to doing each path of each dungeon once, in the long run, but since we aren’t that fond of dungeons in general, that would have taken awhile). We’ll help others with their storymode, we just won’t choose to re-do them unless someone requests our help. as a note New players will only have to do them once. They won’t face having to redo them. So it’s hurting the current playerbase.

2. Yeah, I noted that when the dailies were merged, you couldn’t finish your daily completely in PvP. The point of merging is such that you can do whatever you want. Which means it’s both for people who like to do a bit of everything each day (myself and my guild) and shouldn’t cost people who want to focus in one segment of the game (which, if they want a daily, they cannot focus in one segment now). This has to be particularly annoying for PvP players who may only have level 1s outside of PvP. Could it at least be able to be set where PvP players could earn 5 dailies?

Feedback/Questions: The Megaserver System: World Bosses and Events

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Lorelei.7809

I just hope that the Guild Events are somewhat reasonable to attain. If so, then I have no problem with the system after thinking about it. As at least that’s an option for spontaneity and they will be publicly available. I just hope that there are at least 2 day schedules in the end, because these times won’t be times that everyone will be able to access them at least once a day. I can only access two of them once a day at the schedule that is put up, consistently, and one of the bosses it’ll have to be on the weekend. I think the goal needs to be that everyone needs to be able to access each boss at least once per day. I’m not sure the current schedule and workaround meets that. But we’ll see I suppose (I think it will depend on how hard it is to get the Guild Events).

Feedback/Questions: The Megaserver System: World Bosses and Events

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Lorelei.7809

Lorelei.7809

In addition: Though there is the workaround of the Guild Event, my guild is too small to be able to unlock that in the near future. It’d probably take us awhile to do so. At least months, years, if it has to be unlocked after Guild Puzzles (please please don’t do that!).

Both systems have disadvantages. However, I think a lot more people will miss out on the events with this new system than the old one due to the strict time schedule. Why not just solve the population problem with mega-servers and leave the bosses scheduled as is (EDIT: until such a point where either a good schedule (or schedules) can be found or something can be implemented such that people know, across maps, in-game, where these events are going on or there is a nice mixture of both spontaneous and scheduled events)? It’s still not ideal, I think I might prefer scheduled events, but there need to be options for spontaneous events.

I’m ecstatic about the other features in the pack. But the mega server stuff? Really really cautious about. Can be good…. but I think it might take awhile to get it right where everyone’s happy :/

Feedback/Questions: The Megaserver System: World Bosses and Events

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Lorelei.7809

Lorelei.7809

I really like the idea of world boss schedules. I don’t do world bosses because I don’t bother with the event timer website. As, even if an event is open, and I want to do it at said time, there may not be enough people at that event.

The other day, I ran into Tequatl and there was no one there. I would have liked to have fired the mega-laser at him and taken him on with a group, but with no one there, I couldn’t get a chance to do that.

The mega-server + consistently timed events should solve that problem.

However, there is one major problem I see: At the current times on the schedule…. not one of the times that Tequatl will open will I likely be in-game. At one point, it’s too early (either I’m asleep or eating breakfast), the other is during lunch, and the other is normally when I’m going to bed. The Great Jungle Worm and the Karka Queen are both worse and better.

Suggestion: Rotate these specific times during the week. On the weekend, those times are OK, but on the week, not so much (at least for me). So… why not say on Monday, adjust the time slots about an hour or two back or forward, then on Tuesday, adjust the times from Monday by an hour or two and release a schedule for a full week (with different times for the bosses each day of the week). Or at least rotate the order that they spawn. So maybe on Monday have Tequatl go first, on Tuesday have the Great Jungle Worm go first, etc. Either way, I think that people will at least be able to do the events once per weekday. I’d much prefer the first as my “primetime” is 6-9 PM, not 9-11 EST and I wouldn’t want you to change the times to those just to fit my schedule, but with the first, perhaps one day a week, my “primetime” would match up.

Yeah, that’s part of my problem with the Lyssa set. It was a good base set, but at that time I could only afford Karma, I didn’t have enough gold. I figured Lyssa would be a good guess for Mesmer.

Now I want to start specializing with one or two other sets.

Edit: Now I’m thinking Knights or Rabid. Problem is, I haven’t really set up a build and trait set really for lockdown, I’ve just sort of toyed with it and have been too cheap to trait reset. I’ve been going staff and sword/pistol though, if that helps. But maybe I should use greatsword instead?

Okay, so Rabid would be more preferable then. So the power doesn’t really help (as much) though the domination line is controlled by it.

Any other set work well with particular builds (particularly those that deal with interrupts)?

Also, would it be dumb to have 2 rabid sets, one with Nightmare Runes, and one with Mesmer Runes?

Well, I’m also going for a Rabid Twilight Arbor set (keeping the Nightmare runes) for when I focus on condition damage and less on interrupting.

I’m wondering if Carrion would help without sacrificing a bit of defense (vitality) and something condition related (damage). I currently have the karma set from Orr (of Lyssa).

Thoughts?

I still need to play around with interrupt builds to see what I’m comfortable with, but given the other armor sets I have, do you think Carrion + Mesmer Runes would be a good third (at least for a start)?

Thanks for all the info though. Too bad the Mesmer runes aren’t working perfectly though

I figure Rune of the Mesmer is a good rune set, but what are good inherent stats to the armor? As in, for example, which WvW set (that costs gold+ Badges of Honor) would be most appropriate? I don’t think I should just go for power… But I’m not sure what kind of defense I should go for/what defense/offense balance is appropriate (As in, I don’t think I should go Cleric’s or Berzerker’s – I don’t want to be a totally glass cannon).

I thought for a moment all hats would become armor skins. It sounded logical. Funny, I wonder which complimentary extra clothes they will add to the witches hat… and why.

They’re adding complimentary extra clothes to head items? Wonder what they’ll do for the reading glasses? A suit perhaps?

Most hats are becoming armor hats. I’m not sure if all of them are, and how they are determining that. But from what I can tell, single items in the Gem Store are turning into Armor pieces for sure.

Wonderful. Just sold a Bolt of Damask and bought myself the Reading Glasses. I’d always wanted those things but never quite committed to them since they were Town Clothes only.

Yeah I’m going to get them, too I’m just going to get them on the day xD (with probably a couple other things) I can’t wait to go back to my old reading glasses and armor type look ^^

I’d also hope, that if it does not work that way (hide town clothes helm, show armor helm), which, it seems either that it doesn’t or it wasn’t positively confirmed (it was not positively denied either, I checked) that it can work that way in the future.

Edit: Note that the witches hat was positively denied, which is retired, not able to be bought from the Gem Store, and going to an Endless Tonic. Wasn’t it also confirmed that we’d be able to hide Town Clothes “helms”?

Then explain to me what these mean:
“Single items, such as the Fuzzy Hats and Scarlet’s Spaulders, will be unlocked for your entire account and usable with any armor weight.

“Most pieces sold separately, such as the Fuzzy Animal Hats or Phantom Hood, will become armor skins for the appropriate slot, usable by a character that wears armor of any type.”

The question is: If you hide the helm of a town clothes, will the armor helm show? Why wouldn’t it show?

Thus, I’d like to know if I can effectively mix.

The armor helm showed in GW1 when the town clothes hat was hidden and when the box was checked to show the armor helm. So I’m hoping that’s the case.

Edit: You could wear different headgears with different outfits in GW1.

But your system will have to adapt to the glitches that are caused from mixing and matching extraordinarily amazingly, then fuse them together in a non-clipping way.

I’ll show you a picture if you want. But this is what you can do.

1. Show Town Clothes body.
2. Hide Town Clothes hat (it’s in a separate slot)
3. Show Armor helm.

I just did it in GW1 to basically prove to myself it worked that way. And it does.

Okay, if it can’t be done, then it can’t be done. But I think that update may be possible to come more quickly But if you can hide your costume helm, why wouldn’t it show your armor helm if it were indicated to show?

IFF Town Clothes Singular Item Hats turn into Armor helms and it works like GW1, THEN you can do it with current Singular Item town clothes hats like Fuzzy Hats and Reading Glasses as they’ll change to armor helms and “mix” them with your town clothes.

Edit, edit, edit: I would really like a confirmation if this is possible and if the Fuzzy Hats and Reading Glasses, etc are turning into Armor helms (they are current in the store and they said something along these lines in their blog post).

@NickChabby: I like that it goes over armor like in GW1. Your system removes that. Your system, in order for them to work in combat requires them to be converted to armor sets. Your system will take that option away.

Edit: I am advocating for the ability to hide the town clothes helm and show the armor helm like in GW1. Particularly given that Reading Glasses look like they’ll turn into armor helms.

But can you hide the hat and show your armor’s hat? Which means if those town clothes hats turn into armor skins, then you can. If not, then I hope they implement it in the future, because that seems like it should be possible.

Okay so I’ve read the words from Anet that it would be an impossibility to mix-match town clothes with armors and vice versa.

Fair enough.

But I’ve yet to read a good argument of something preventing us to mix-match town clothes with the outfit system itself. There’s already a case to put in the outfit of our choice. What about putting a case for every armor part, like right now, and force us to wear either the town clothes or the armor, not both or no in-between. One or the other. Trigger all the town clothe parts (which are placed separately in the hero panel) at once if activated.

I’m sure it’s possible. That way:

- No glitch for mixing armor types with outfits
- People can still mix-match like right now
- It’s going back to the system we have right now but improved since we can now use it in combat and it covers our armor instead of replacing it.

Everybody happy.

No?

But I wouldn’t be happy with that. I’d like to wear both the armor and the town clothes like in GW1 and like they’re going to do. And I would also like to fight in town clothes. You are already forced to choose with one or the other So yes, I would be unhappy with your solution.

I want to fight in a fancy dress (ideally primarily white for more absurdity)!

Edit: You can’t fight in town clothes if you’re forced to choose between the two because they have no stats. You might as well make them armor sets if you’re going to do that.

I had to re log in three times, and change locations three times. The first time it worked for me was when I went into the Heart of the Mists.

I’ll give you that it’s a step back, but it’s also a step forward with being able to wear them in combat. I can only imagine that they’ll adjust the system in the future to make it even better. Note that they said they reworked the system so that it could be expandable. So… I imagine that they can do better things with town clothes and keep the awesomeness of being able to wear town clothes in combat like I did in GW1 (it’s epic wearing a wedding dress in combat).

Edit: I am sure they’ll add either a wedding dress or a fancy dress in the game at some point ^^

You won’t need transmutation charges to wear town clothes.

I think you should be able to wear your original town clothes in combat “over” your armor like in GW1.

If it’s like in Guild Wars 1, there will be a costume slot, which you can customize to be visible or invisible as you like (with the likely exception of PvP necessitating no costume).

I think it’s very reasonable for them to likely implement a separate head gear slot like they had in GW1 at a later update. However, this was a huge update with a ton of work put into it due to the much much much more complex coding of GW2 than GW1. Thus, that update might take awhile. With separate pants and shirts, I’m honestly not sure that is possible with their reworked system (but I did not think their system could have been reworked to this extent, so, keep hope). However, I don’t think separate pants/shirts was even possible in GW1 (likely due to them being able to be worn in combat).

In GW1, they had fancy dresses, wedding dresses, rad hats, etc.

What was in demand before was town clothes being able to be worn in combat. They made that happen. So that was prioritized.

They did take out individual town clothes items like shorts and shirts, so honestly, there must have been likely a few reasons for that. Perhaps they knew they were doing something with them then and we should have seen it as a warning or perhaps the separates just plain didn’t sell well. If the separates didn’t sell well, they probably figured that outfits in combat was more of a concern to the community than separates.

I’m beyond ecstatic about this update. I do hope, that for the people who get endless tonics, that those endless tonics are able to be used in combat like the watchwork tonics and the candy corn ones in GW1. And I hope they look amazing. I also hope, though, that there can be some sort of update in the future with them.

Edit: I’d really really like an answer to these questions:
1. Are Reading Glasses, Fuzzy Hats, etc, turned into helm skins?
2. Can you make invisible your town clothes helm, make visible your town clothes, and make visible your armor helm?

If 2 is possible, then couldn’t you wear Reading Glasses with a Town Clothes set (shoulders down), effectively enabling you to customize the town clothes hat?

Also, that being the case, will Reading Glasses stay in the Gem Store and just be helm skins once the update occurs (I am strongly considering getting them)?

On the headgear thing… the glowy red eyes… will those stay in the Gem Store or are they an april fool’s joke?

I still need to get a confirmation on single-item available town clothes, but this is my understanding of how things work:

1. All Gem Store items go account wide
2. Single-item currently available town clothes turn into helm skins of any armor weight (what I need a confirmation on).
3. You will be able to wear your town clothes as an outfit in combat like in GW1 (over your armor), which you can show or hide as you please (except perhaps in PvP).
4. Town clothes are a singular outfit, but from what I understand you can hide the head piece.

Town clothes are an outfit due to them needing to fit “over” any armor weight. They had to do this in GW1 (they were able to be used in combat “over” armor). I assume there is a fair reason for it and it was something due to them needing to be used in combat.

I’m honestly not expecting it in GW2, but then again, I did not expect to even be able to wear town clothes in battle or have account wide skins, so I think there’s hope. But keep in mind, this took a long time to implement.

What might happen to those pieces in the future is their incorporation into an armor set, which note, you can use in town or in battle currently anyway and are completely mix and matchable.

With regards to buying/not buying town clothes based on this change… Do whatever you want. But I will finally start buying town clothes and armors. I love this change. I think I might buy my first town clothes and my first armor set from them once the update comes as a thank you (along with maybe reading glasses too!).

In the end, though, keep hope up! This update, to me, is beyond my wildest dreams (I don’t know what could make it better and it seems too good to be true to me)!

Each minute Anet doesn’t confirm the return of town clothes, Grenth kills a little quaggan.

Help quaggans!!

Town clothes are there, but they’re in an outfit, so they aren’t mix ’n match. But, they are something much better, they can be shown in combat (worn over your armor), also (you can hide them to show your armor or not I assume like GW1)!

From the impression I get, (and I have a question thread for this to confirm), I think that town-clothes headpieces will turn into armor helm skins. But the town clothes pants/shirts (now taken out of the store) will be turned into endless tonics.

“Purchasing an outfit will unlock it for all characters on your account to use. Outfits will replace the look of equipped armors, are equipped in a separate appearance slot, and do not require Transmutation Charges to use. Single items, such as the Fuzzy Hats and Scarlet’s Spaulders, will be unlocked for your entire account and usable with any armor weight. Some basic clothing items that are no longer available for purchase will be converted into endless tonics.
