Luvpie, first of all, let me apologize for the way my comments seem to have inflated spirits, please put it on my lack of forum ‘experience’, so to speak. I do sometimes read the forums, but I have never posted before. I may also employ words or expressions which are more straightforward without recognizing all the implications those have for native English speakers, I am Romanian and, obviously, this is not my native language.
Second of all, and the thing which should’ve been the preamble to my initial post: congratulations on winning the January 25 – February 01 match-up to you and Sea of Sorrows, you won it fair and square! As I actually wrote in the second part of my first post, we’re glad to see SoS in shipshape.

Obviously, I understand that, given the common thread derailments and accusations you speak of, my main points seemed, not to put too fine a point on it, a pretext to you, and I suppose this is why you jumped straight to what you thought was my pet peeve. But I ask you to read below, as I will try to better explain the issue I saw.

Servers were supposed to paint a accurate picture of what their servers need and then target those areas with recruitment. Would people post about other servers’ population and guilds to misinform the forums or purely make assumptions?. Yes. Should you care? kitten no.
Is FA the underdog of T3 in terms of coverage. Yes. What do they need? Talk to FA.

See, that’s the thing right there, you didn’t talk solely about SoS and asked the ‘servers’, i.e. TC and FA, to speak for themselves, you wrote a topic where you gave your own assessments as to where those Worlds are and made recommendations as to where guilds looking to transfer should be headed. And then, of course, there was Chris, who, without dallying, jumped at the opportunity to describe how TC is only stopped from winning the match-up by its “pitiful” lack of coordination. Nevermind his sartorial proclivities in tailoring a ‘researched’ coverage for T1 and T2 and T3. So, I now gather you are confirming that he is seeking to misinform ‘the forums’, as you stated in the quote above.

You mention that we care too much about what’s being said here, though you two were the ones who said it. Please, put yourself in our shoes for just a bit. TC’s posters do not initiate these debates. Yet now, a thread appears, a thread which you started, where transfer recommendations are made by SoS players, recommendations which directly affect TC and half of the NA Worlds. And yet, you’re writing above that we shouldn’t care enough to even post our opinions on the recommendations currently made by you and Chris for all the Worlds involved, nor should we seek to correct what has been said about our realm by you and Chris O.o

This cognitive dissonance would not pass for a fair-minded answer anywhere, though I honestly believe you are sincerely trying to be unbiased.

EDIT: A very good post by Super Kruegs, I agree with it almost entirely, aside from the allegation that we’re upset about not being on top of T2. A pity I cannot link to a few of my older posts on the TC World forums where I openly stated it will be great for us to be the underdogs of this tier. The ruckus on this page was caused solely by what I perceived to be intentionally misleading information concerning TC’s WvW community and I again apologize for coming off as brusque.

Enough of this smoke/mirror kitten. From my posts I painted a picture of TC/FA as you mentioned in the original post states this about TC/FA…

*T2 is pretty balanced right now with FA/TC/SoS with only 17k difference between 1st and 3rd. If you looking to balance T2 Please talk to FA/TC before transferring there! *

That is all that was said about T2 servers by me or anyone from SoS (except Chris). Outside of this Mag has been asking for Ocx to compliment their NA and DB needs NA which everyone knows. Those are my recommendations. From there you and usagi went on a tirade about SoS’s malicious intentions to harm TC’s recruitment & half of NA worlds? I honestly could give a rats kitten about who goes to what server and why (especially our opponents). This was a misguided attempt to offer suggestions to servers looking to transfer in NA since SoS was being approached by couple guilds after the EB transfers.

As for Chris’ comments. Please don’t bunch my posts and his. He is known PvF warrior with free time at work/home. You and Chris please keep at it!

My new recommendation: TC needs help in NA/EU/Ocx/SEA. Honestly this server needs everything. There you go. Hope everyone transfers to TC now

Lol. This thread is kittened. Usagi & Dalloway in “damsel in distress mode” for portraying TC (‘Former’ T1.5) as underdog. Both of you seem offended that misinformation is given in the thread about TC/FA. So here goes.

Reason for this thread was getting T2/3 balanced so T2/T3 are closer together and we have some variety & we don’t get locked in a perma threesome with FA’s great NA guilds who don’t have coverage and TC’s STUN (20-30)/CERN/NAGA (15-20)/NOPE/MC(20-25)/FUNK/zZzzZ(15-20) & rest of TC’s PvX/militia. Is TC short in NA in terms of organized guilds… Maybe. How short maybe 1-2 guilds to replace ZN, RoT, EP during NA.

Will SoS mind if TC got NA guilds? kitten no. It would beat hopping borderlands to find STUN/Zzz or NAGA/FUNK/MC on maps to look for fights instead of sup acs.

Is FA the underdog of T3 in terms of coverage. Yes. What do they need? Talk to FA. They are 16 k down after two days. While ppt doesn’t equal coverage it usually is a good indicator of numbers.

Before NA transfer we weren’t able to consistently play on more then 2 maps and had to float during NA which you have to do during EU/Ocx. Now our NA can play on 3 maps. Also SoS has militia pool MUCH smaller then TC/FA since we lost ALL of WvW guilds in mass T1 exodus. So SoS needed the NA and other then [one]. GH/ZoD(EB guilds) came on their own without solicitation because we were right fit and had friends of theirs on server. Now SoS is in a good state where it is. We have a bigger militia for off hours to defend against TC’s EU karma blob (ex: 2 weeks ago match). Guilds will work to work communication/training and we will fight as we have always done even when outmanned in 2/4 borderlands during NA primetime. SoS as a server is not recruiting anymore. We don’t want queues and would rather be the underdog then ‘default’ winner.

As everything does with forums this thread has turned into pointing fingers about intentions/evil schemes. This was expected and people should have ignored the PvF warriors. But here we are.

[Fang] is still looking for Eles, Necroes, Guards for the WvW/GvG raids.

It can if T1 guilds start to destack we can have 3 tiers of balanced servers. Just 2-3 guilds from JQ/BG talk to each other and pick DB/MAg respectively if you oceanic/NA. Start the process then go from there!

Mag doesn’t but once a while they take viagra and have a fun run for few hours.

Sea of Sorrows has closed recruitment for NA and Oceanic, if you are a NA or oceanic guild please considor Tarnished Coast and Fort Aspenwood, both have great communities and both are extremely stable servers.

To any prospect guilds looking to bring balance to T2/T3. If you oceanic please consider Mag & DB if you NA/Oceanix. YB might be dropping since [One] is moving from YB. DB already has some coverage and could use some NA/Oceanix to bring balance to T3. Mag could use some Oceanix to bring some coverage to compliment their excellent NA.

Yup T2 where it’s at right now. Great fights, little lag, almost no ques and best of all I haven’t seen an AC in 2 weeks. That being said i think we’re pretty balanced and anyone thinking of moving should be considering T3 especially if you’re NA/OCX. Welcome to the newbies no mercy will be shown have fun out there

We are already turning away couple prospects on SoS for NA and directing them to SoR or DB to bring them up to replace YB in T3. I think DB will be excellent T3 server with some more NA/Oceanix. We will also be referring any OCX to Mag/DB going forward so T3 gets well rounded and we have 6 great servers in T2-3 that fight each other.

Yesterday was Australia day (holiday for aussies) which lead to better Sunday performance and overnight performance. The new guilds haven’t transferred yet totally (only ZoD with 20ish so far and maybe few GH). So nothing has changed so far…

What’s happening to SoS? :
SoS was primarily Oceanic as everyone knows with decent NA but we just had enough guilds to play 2 borderlands and ops on 3rd. Now we will be able to play 3 borderlands during NA with EB guilds’ arrival when they transfer over by next week. Also before EB guilds none of our NA primetime guilds outside of EP roll 20+ and mostly run tagless during raid times. New guilds will bring 100-150 people overall spread out through NA/EU/SEA. They will also bring pugmanders who tag up so our militia has more options to have fun during day/gaps. Before we had people who ran 12-20 hrs (ex: last close matchup with FA/TC 2 weeks ago) but now hopefully everyone can play when they want and not burn out. Overall this is a good thing for T2. It will keep TC/FA/SoS in fun matches with SBI/Mag rotating in. TC still has much higher overall pop imo and FA already had higher NA pop so nothing will change too much. SoS just got a deeper bench for off hours if that makes sense.

SoS has already decided not to recruit any more NA/Oceanix (outside of those we have talked to already) as we don’t want to return to T1. Once everyone settles in we will work on making sure the new/old mix well and create a solid foundation that everyone can enjoy. Hope all this makes sense, and if it doesn’t :P.

It seems whatever little resources they had for WvW have been moved over for PvE and they waiting now for the PvE stuff to finish before any work can be done on WvW… Can’t wait for next game to come out and PvE will be barren as well.

Yes. That is accurate. In terms of #s of palyers BG > JQ > SoR > TC > FA > SoS. All of these have players during the timezone you looking for.

To put it bluntly, I’m getting tired of the stagnant T1 scene – the queues, the blobs, the lag, it’s all getting old to me now. I’m a decent commander in my own right, and have experience leading guild groups and EB zergs alike. I’ve been heavily considering either T2 – T4, in the range of a considerable amount of activity with short queues at most, sans reset night. While I don’t mind playing for PPT, my main focus is getting into a competitive WvW-focused guild that stresses the importance of fights above else with other solid commanders that can lead open field well.

What timezone do you usually play in? SoS in general is looking for more commanders. We have excellent community with several guilds looking for more experienced players.

Who we are.
Emerald Fang is built around group play. We like to do WvW alot & do guild missions one night a week. We are also looking to get started in GvGs as well. We teach new players and help them gear up for WvW as long as the player shows motivation and do their part.

How we are organized.

We are an US based guild with members from US/CAN. This allows us to have members on during most times of the day. Communication is important so we use the tools available to us (Forums, Shoutbox, Teamspeak) to effectively coordinate. We provide structure and events but we are casual. So members can attend any organized event when they want or they can use guild chat to get something started impromptu.

Who we want.

We want people who are friendly and like getting on and helping each other out. People who enjoy using forums and TS3 to communicate. We do ask that you be at least 18, but there can be exceptions.

What we require.
We require our members to REP us all the time
We require our members to be helpful/active in Guild and TS3.
We require our members to participate in WvW events on the weekend atleast (5-9 pm server time) and guild missions.
We require our members to be geared if they are 80 & want to WvW/GvG and if they need help we help them gear up.

We do our best to have the events as scheduled but we are casual so have some flexibility.

If you stop leading T1 style map queues you will find more fights.

yesterday you guys had even numbers with kiwi/fun and it was fun. not sure what you expect us to do about today, tell people to stop playing and not wvw? Our militia is showing up and yours isn’t, it’s that simple. outside of that your servers seems only interested in eb when yb camps your home so numbers is sbi problem not sos.

ps: sos hasn’t won a match since September and shows up for fights regardless. we will move back up if rng favors and go back to being outnumbered again. bear with us cuz it’s not fun for us either with uneven fights.

already got 50 bricks/stars etc… I really don’t use crafting to make mats and do buy orders instead. It would b nice to use the emp/bricks to some t6 mats or something

You’re right. Servers are all medium & above. Server populations are totally different to world vs world. You could have a high pop server and still struggle to compete in world vs world because a good percentage of players play guild wars for other reasons outside of WvW.

Both of you make too much sense. Anet doesn’t like sense making. Instead propose increasing map limit and create a system for people waiting in queue so they don’t have to transfer. o wait. anet already implementing that.

I love how anet artificially creates this forum problem… meantime no improvement to wvw for 8-9 weeks now.. gg anet

To get access to sosteamspeak. Join the ts3 @ sosts.teamspeak3.com and then go in wvw. You will need to verify you are in wvw and someone will give you permissions.

To find a guild durinf 5pm-11pm gw2-seaofsorrows.com woul be best. I think Rx might fit your needs or maybe CNB if you just want larger WvW guild.

wb. fang just does wvw so we don’t fit your needs but you welcome to run with us if you see us on ts3. envy/cnb/rx might fit your needs though. hf!

On SoS we don’t tell guilds how to play so if you like to fight, please fight. We have cnb/rx/bear/art which run late NA/SEA so you will have some company. We could use you more but if you decide to go to Mag no worries. SoS fights no matter what. We have lost the last 12-13 matches? lol. I can’t remember last time we won a match in ppt but our bags are full and pugs came out better through the leagues. I can talk to you tomorrow if you available on our community ts3.

I’m almost certain that using ACs to hit stuff behind a gate isnt cheating, but they HAVE been known to use any less than respectable trick they can whenever possible. AKA invuln spot siege, camping in invuln spots off the cliffs. I dont usually actually dislike any enemy in this game, but some of FA have shown themselves to be both poor losers AND winners.

Well I had to log in way late to reset and leave after about 4 hours, but thank you SoS and FA. I know that early on that 2v1 was brutal from what I heard but man, I take over while its still going and you guys get farmed.. then you all logged off or hopped maps after like 3 consecutive losses. What is up with that….. I was hoping for good fights but all I got was KITTENRY!

I started leading eb around 9pm when we were getting 2v1ed by FA on durious and you guys on QL and you lost everything but your eb keep & aldons by 10:30pm all because your guys couldn’t get inside towers and man siege before we get to door. TC are excellent siege manners! best I have siege. I wish we had militia that manned siege as good as TC. But then I had to leave (wife aggro). I really wasn’t looking forward to the 70 man blob aoeing choke on TC keep and wping in again and again. Still it was funny and I find it hilarious that people complain about 2v1. kitten happens SoS gets targeted all the time cuz we have the weakest coverage of 3 servers but meh. playing for ppt is so 2012…

@ TC on SOS border on reset. Stop hugging hills/set with 2-3 trebs and 5-6 acs. There was a ac along the wall on hills every spot and 3-4 scouts in hills at all times. TC wins because you play ppt and have trained your militia that it’s fun to sit on stuff and press 1,2,3. TC also wins cuz FA will go for ez ppt on SOS instead of pushing TC border at all times but eh. Once I realized that sos wasn’t going to get fights on sos border I moved the 30-40 we had to EB and started running around…

Sorry to say, but it very much appears that you want the game to change to fit your play style and what you want, rather than You changing your play style to fit the game. All MMOs go through changes, in cycles. Either you like it or don’t. In the end, they change to fit what most players want. Either that or the game dies off. I guarantee ANet doesnt want the game to die, so they will do what it takes to make the most players happy.

Rather than starting threads or making posts that just complain, why not offer constructive ideas on what would work better? That will give you a much better chance of being listened to by the Devs. Otherwise it’s just a person on a forum venting. Not really anything to be paid attention to.

thanks for the concerns. Like you said people provide suggestions based on what they like in game and that is what I did. Most people that like the treb or defensive siege like siegewars, i like siegewars but not to the point of trolling. I don’t mind t3 towers being hard but lately this meta has made things difficult especially for lower wvw pops. I give example. SoS which is usually really outnumbered in gold has 1/2 the pop of other server on the map. We push and wipe enemy zerg but then they spread scouts with acs/trebs and literally run from tower to tower and get inside. There are trebs raining on choke with supply removal as well at certain areas. It seems more like trolling then tactics.

PS: @ some other posts TY for the suggestion of the cata on wall. I didn’t realize they were in the game..

BG is the only server for you if you still care about ‘victory’ in ppt terms. BG/JQ/TC are the servers that play for ppt and care what the score is at end of week. Mag/SoS/SoR are some servers that play for fights and fun and ppt is byproduct. GL in your search!

Zzzz thanks for the only good fight tonight. Rest of the night was pretty disappointing with most of TC staying inside towers/keeps within ac range. Grats on win though. You guys play for ppt and have scouts that sit at towers for hours. You deserve it.

TC loves their siege and t3 walls. It’s thursday come out and fight instead of hiding behind acs..
