Had fun leading SoS in EB against NS and others while trying to float to SoS whenever DB touched the garry/hills. It would be nice if SoS had a similar size guild to keep NS and other similar guilds entertained. Herding pugs around against a big guild group is meh sometimes without ts3… Nice fights though. Who we are.
The Emerald Fang is built around group play. We like to do WvW alot & do guild missions one night a week. We are also looking to get started in GvGs as wel. We teach new players and help them gear up for WvW as long as the player shows motivation and do their part.

How we are organized.

We are an US based guild with members from US/CAN. This allows us to have members on during most times of the day. Communication is important so we use the tools available to us (Forums, Shoutbox, Teamspeak) to effectively coordinate. We provide structure and events but we are casual. So members can attend any organized event when they want or they can use guild chat to get something started impromptu.

Who we want.

We want people who are friendly and like getting on and helping each other out. People who enjoy using forums and TS3 to communicate. We do ask that you be at least 18, but there can be exceptions.

What we require.
We require our members to REP us all the time
We require our members to be helpful/active in Guild and TS3.
We require our members to participate in WvW events on the weekend (5-9 pm pst) and guild missions.
We require our members to be geared if they are 80 & want to WvW/GvG and if they need help we help them gear up.

We do T3 Bounty/Trek/Rush/Challenge/Puzzle weekly on Sunday evening. Check events calendar for timings.

Hi guys, we moved [lion] to SoS recently from EU (approx two weeks ago) and have to say its a friendly community although the match-ups thus far have been pretty easy so no pressure to test how people react under fire. We’ve brought 50 members over here (with more coming shortly) and enjoy a mix of defending and running organised teams.

So far we’ve made lots of new friends especially the [bear] guys (go team zoo) and [ART] who are a similar style of guild to ourselves. EU time zone seems to be the morning/afternoon crew on your NA server time which suits us at present with our membership meaning we can achieve a lot with 10 men running team builds. As for first impression I can say there is a lot of potential here on SoS the co op is good and people that don’t always agree seem able to put that aside and help out for the server.

Moving here wasn’t taken lightly and we have no intention of moving again we’re looking forward to being a major force on SoS. We have several experienced commanders that have been leading since the first month, although not tagging up much atm just watching how you guys play and getting to grips with all the guilds. We focus on home borders and never on Eternal, so if you see a [lion] team in EB screenie it.

I spent some time on SoS and enjoyed my time there. Their NA is (was?) weak relative to their oceanic. The main problem I had was all the matchups you’ll get with T2 and possibly T1 servers. The gap between T1, T2 and T3 is huge. Good luck with your transfer!

Some people call us a friendly foe. Some people call us a scrappy underdog. Some people call us the gangster of love… or at least that’s what unconfirmed reports suggest. Sea of Sorrows is a world that puts fun into WvW and not just through illiteracy. We’ve done a lot of swinging between the polar opposites of matches we’ll definitely win, and matches we’ll definitely lose. While neither are awesome options in themselves, we still go out there, play the game and aim to enjoy ourselves. Oh, and pick up an awful lot of loot if we’re lucky.

As part of this, we have a strong focus on our community. No one guild can do everything and with the range of interests and styles a world will have, we believe it’s vital to have our guilds be as close as possible. We haven’t quite gotten onto community margarita nights yet, but it’s only a matter of time. Nonetheless, for a world whose regular WvW crews are heavily made up by PvX guilds, we recognize the importance of collaboration and teamwork if we intend to do well and have fun out there.

Where are we going with this, you might ask? Well, since the new, randomized match-ups, we’ve been regularly facing traditional T2 opposition (and the occasional T1 opponent), which, as you can likely appreciate, is rather lopsided. We’re not so fussed about winning or losing, but we would enjoy matches more if they weren’t decided by almost 100k points every week. Whilst we’re advised to inform you that they’d beat you in an arm-wrestle any day of the week, our NA presence is easily the weakest of any of the top 10 worlds. Accordingly, we are looking to recruit more guilds and players particularly for the NA timezones and, to a lesser extent, the SEA timezones. We would especially be interested in hearing from those with a wide range of interests within the game, who share our views of having a strong community focus.

We are also in no particular rush. We would prefer that interested players and guilds take the time to get to know our community and be sure that we’re the right world for them to call home.

Purpose:
Recruit small-midsize guilds that can fit with SoS Culture of ‘hands off’ WvW.

Who we want:
We are currently looking for small ops or havoc squads during SEA timezone and 1-2 more NA guilds. We are looking for guilds that want to make SoS their permanent home and grow with us. We need help in NA as it is weaker then most T2-4 servers. 1 or 2 SEA guilds will make us well rounded for T2.

Influence ‘Rep’
Some of the guilds on the server will ask their members to rep your guild when you transfer and do some events to help your guild gain influence faster.

Business Casual WvW
Most of guilds on SoS are PvX so we have a relaxed ‘hands off’ approach to WvW. We don’t want to go back to T1 ever. We just play WvW for fun, when we can, and enjoy the fights. OPs or havoc squads are encouraged to tag up and coordinate with main group. You won’t be harassed for taking days off or GvGing etc. Also, should you transfer, we would never expect you to put in “x” amount of hours/“x” amount of days a week. Just come to play, have fun & collect dem bags!

No-perma lag/Queues
Unless we facing a T1/2T2 servers and all 3 zergs are in the same area there is hardly any skill lag. Queue can be seen on EB/SoS border once a while but with only 5-10 mins max. After Friday reset we hardly have any queues on any borderland except once a while a queue on EB for 5 mins can be found.

Weekly WvW/Server meeting
Our server/wvw meeting is open to everyone. We are a open server without egos, that encourages everyone on the server to have a voice. SoS guilds provide organization and structure for those interested in working together for WvW. The meeting is usually 30 mins or less as we don’t want GW2 to be a second job.

New to WvW? Welcome
SoS offer a fun environment for new players to learn in without megazergs like in T1. SoS players reinforce ideas of scouting/upgrading/training to new players and keep things positive in Team chat.

Community Events
SoS is more then WvW server. It is a GW2 community. We hold events outside of WvW that promote community coming together. We have held 2 events in the last 3-4 months like Beach Bash. We hope to host more events as real life permits.

Honestly it costs max 50g per person to move. If you just play 2-3 hrs a day you can easily make 50g in less then 7 days. Stop waiting for free transfers. Farm some gold and move. Start the trend and maybe T1 will destack. New patch on 6th will help get gold easier as well from dungeons/orr farm.

I suppose. Considering you do pretty well in NA prime in this match I’d say you’re balanced for T3. You’re basically where Dragonbrand was before they got transfers—top of T3 with good night time presence. T2 is all sorts of wack.

Yep T2 is crapped because people keep stacking TC/DB without anyone going to FA. Honestly SoS is more then happy with being in T3 or below as long as the RNG of going to T2 stops. Our rolls have been positive alot we had TC or DB like 5 out of 7 times so we are currently trying to get a couple more NA guilds and maybe 1 SEA then stop actively recruiting guilds.

Server wide ts3 yes. Merge into guild? not sure. We aren’t looking but maybe someone is. I think I spoke to you on ts3 week or two ago. We are PvX and don’t have any many WvW guilds. We can chat again on ts3 but don’t need to hardsell. GL on server search.

Rolled? no. when we against T2 (TC/DB) we are outmanned and usually get 140-180 ppt. Any lower matchup 180-275 ppt during NA prime atleast depending on who we fight. You can look at our matchup history with ppt at http://mos.millenium.org/matchups#NA

Let’s not bring up our oceanics again we all knew the outcome of the matchup. I am surprised about the NA timezone though. EB was a lot stronger last time we met them with CD or TC I think. I am not sure how 1 guild leaving has hurt them so much. Regardless of score SoS has always tried to focus on our home borderland and focus on fights. Stopped doing Trek like others because every week we hit cap anyways. It’s a useless currency once you hit max level. Need merit to Influence conversion or some items like feasts etc would b nice to buy with merits directly.

Thank you for the replies. Just to reiterate, we’re not interested in tier 1. We are mainly looking at tier 2 and 3 hoping to help balance the competition a bit.

Awesome. IMO following is true in terms of coverage & rankings

TC >DB TC & DB are close both have large wvw guilds and excellent coverage
FA has good NA but subpar oceanics/sea compared to above 2
SoS has subpar NA coverage in terms of all T2/T3 servers and has good oceanic
CD/EB/MAG CD has most coverage followed by EB. Mag mostly has NA.

If you looking to balance you can go SoS or CD. More NA on FA won’t do much. SoS could use the NA but we don’t have big WvW guilds which you wanted. Instead we have smaller groups that work together as rooster mentioned in his post above. We can talk about SoS if you interested. If you don’t come to SoS go with CD so they can take our place as the servers that floats into T2 and then floats back down depending on roll.

SoS doesn’t have big coordinated WvW guilds. We have the rest and a good community. We can chat more if you interested. Good luck in your search.

Anet is under the impression that people will spread to lower tiers on their own and spend gems to do so. So naive.

One of the easiest things that Anet could do is reduce #s of max players allowed on each map in WvW. This will increase queue times in stacked tier1 servers causing guilds to spread out to T2/T3. It will also fix the skill lag issue since anet hasn’t resolved it yet. Once population settles they can increase cap if they want. Just a little push is needed for the stacked servers to take matter into their hands.

Had fun today leading in EB in the even between 6-7:30. All day today SoS was outmanned on EB until around 6. Got couple good fights again FA/TC around umber/durius.

PS: Hopefully the price of golems increases in couple weeks so the 10-15 omega with 50-60 zerg stops. Meanwhile enjoy the wxp.

We do T3 Bounty/Trek/Rush/Challenge/Puzzle weekly. We plan on doing the guild missions atleast twice a week when we need break from WvW. Check events calendar for timings.

TLDR:

• WvW focused with Organized events
• Structure & Events planned but with a casual environment
• TS3 Server /w 512 slots
• Dungeons’ & Orr temple runs done when able or interest
• WvW/GvG/GuildMissions is our priority
