Both servers have people who don’t just focus SoR

I would love to see SoS enter SoR’s territory in EBG at least once. Just one time. Like…once. Seriously.

so the amount of healing is just standard heal. Does it not get affected by healing power of person blasting?

Ele drops water field. Thief blasts water field giving ‘area healing’ to 5 allies stacked on water field. I am assuming it is regeneration or is it a seperate boon/heal.

At level 80 regeneration heal is determined like this:

130 + (0.125 * Healing Power) per second

Whose healing power is used? Thief or the person with the regeneration boon.

awesome stuff. was there for the t3 flip. lots of fun. I am enjoying the retraining of guildies and server mates. We had 2 months in T4 where all we had to do was might and move or not even that and win with 100k+. A lot of players are getting back into TS3 and coordinating. Lets keep moving SoS and focus on strats/open field engagements as we move down to appropriate tier in 2-3 weeks

Server Population doesn’t mean anything for WvW. Nice try though.

If anet can’t fix it servers like SoS which are in a limbo moving up/down will have to stop playing on Mon-Tues because if we just fight and keep things interesting our rating goes up and it increases our chances of getting matched up with T1 servers.

Maybe the solution is to offer free transfers off of the top servers to specific lower ranked servers for a while. WoW had a similar system where every so often, to help balance out populations, they’d offer free transfers off of specific servers onto other specific servers.

In this case, you could do something like free transfers off of Sanctum of Rall if the target/destination server is let’s say Devona’s Rest. Have the transfer promotion stay open for a week or two, and then see how it’s altered populations/the overall health of WvW.

Now that guesting is here the only reason server populations really matter is for WvW anyway, so may as well just be honest about that and go all in on working on viable population shuffle mechanisms.

Edit:
Clarification: The goal would be to better help the even distribution of server populations for WvW. If we’re going to keep the random match-ups, then let’s work on making it so that there’s less of a population gap between each tier.

honestly people that are in T1 will always stack so let them fight each other endlessly and complain about matchups being same. They can transfer right now if they want but chose to stay. Even if server transfers open some server like HoD or bottom server will get stacked and move up ranks kittening up matchups for weeks. I hope anet can just adjust the random rolls different for each tier so it’s harder for T1 servers to move down.

We need to keep T1 servers in same matchup but alternate colors. The gap between T1 & T2 is 130-150 points before this new system. We need to keep the RNG roll under 100-125 points please so servers like SoR don’t get demoted to T2 ever but swap colors and stay in T1. The top 3 servers need to matchup with the other servers that have coverage & numbers.

I like the new system as it gives variety to the matchups but please tone down the random roll before next matchup. If X is the current RNG number.

I am not sure if you can do this but maybe decrease the random roll for top 3 servers to just (.25X) so it’s really hard for RNG to alter the top 3 but swaps colors for PvErs. T2-3 gets (.5X) random roll so they only get slightly helped.

T4-T8 gets (.75X) random roll so it has more variety and it’s easier for servers to move up or down if they perform bad.

Some kind of adjustment is needed before next matchup please. Just do something to tone down the RNG that affects ratings.

SoS: We are going to do the best we can and have fun while doing it. Run ops & practice open field as much as you can.
TC: Please 2v1 SOR all week or we won’t have fun at all. For starters on SoS please don’t attack north stuff and lets constantly push SoR. Always have a team on SoR borderland so they getting pushed and on EB never attack each other’s camp. Even if we do all this we still will lose by large margin but it will be alot better.
SoR: Enjoy the badges and rating loss. Sorry

Do you like WvW? If so it will drive your choice because you can guest to any server for everything else. Do you want to go to a full/high pop server like BG/SoR/JQ/DB/TC/FA/ or medium servers like MAG/YB/SoS/KN/CD/EB or low pop like SBI/BP/DR etc High/full have lots of people. Medium have just enough. Low have several gaps. If you oceanic I suggest High pop or SoS/KN because they have decent oceanic populations. If you US I suggest any medium server because full/high servers don’t need more people.

We are an International based guild with members from US/CAN/AUS/NZetc therefore we organize the guild with officers located in both US/EU/AUS time-zones. This allows us to have members on during most times of the day. Communication is important so we use the tools available to us (Forums, Shoutbox, Teamspeak) to effectively coordinate. We provide structure and events but we are casual. So members can attend any organized event when they want or they can use guild chat to get something started impromptu.

Who we want.

We want people who are friendly and like getting on and helping each other out. People who enjoy using forums and TS3 to communicate. We do ask that you be at least 18, but there can be exceptions.

What we require.
We require our members to REP us all the time
We require our members to be helpful/active in Guild and TS3.
We require our members to participate in WvW events on the weekend and guild missions events.

I transferred from SoR to SoS this past week. I can say there is no question in my mind that SoR would simply demolish any one of these 3 servers. Their massive 24×7 forces, widespread use of community TS, and excellent commanding at all times is pretty phenomenal. Ohhh and did I mention their massive forces? I haven’t seen an equivalent to IRON, TW here. There would be many good fights, but at the end of the week the points wouldn’t be that close, but who really cares about points anyways. At some point the new matchup system will likely make this all happen and prove my predictions all wrong. SoR is just scary good.

yay! welcome. honestly I hope after getting may be 1-2 more NA guilds we stop getting new guilds on SoS. I just want to hangout in T3/2 bouncing between the two and enjoy the game. Most of the server community agrees that we never want to go back to T1 again.

I transferred over to SoS this weekend. I was interested to see how this matchup was going to play out.

It has been quite a blast! Ive taken part in every facet of WvW; zerging, small man roaming, open fielding, objective focused. So many good fights to go find.

Thus far I have been impressed with with SoS, transferring here was a good decision upon initial reflection. The people have been great and some solid commanders. SoS would been even more competitive if there was more organization around its community Teamspeak.

The most interesting generalization I can make thus far is that FA and TC are quite different in their battlefield philosophies. FA really does like to play for the fights and are aggressive. TC are just those nice guy roleplayers that seem to play rather defensive. I think TC are protecting the imaginary +15 cupcake star sprinkle muffin buffs obtained from completing the complex chat interaction with the old witch in her barn outside of Speldon.

I just want to say after watching GoT episode 9 that if any enemy server sets foot on SoS Borderlands, we will be nice and hospitable at first… Then BAM! crossbows shooting at you from everywhere and asurans coming out of water with daggers in their teeth, lunging at you from every direction like mad dogs. Slit! there goes your siegerazer’s doliak! Wham! the pretty looking Norn chic thief stabs you and stealths away and this will continue until you are dead or maps all red!

Basically your relative ratings gives you a projected number of points you’ll have at the end of the week. If you do better than that, you gain rating. If you do worse than that, you lose rating. Instead of fighting against the other worlds for score, at the moment you’re fighting against whatever score you chalked up the week before.

Accordingly if you want one world to move down in ratings, you have to deny them points specifically, rather than just doing well yourself.

Yep. So let’s keep SBI ppt close to 0 as possible for tonight and tomorrow. It doesn’t matter if CD has 400 ppt or SoS has 400 ppt as long as SBI is under 50. Sorry but we need to change things up.

WvW players have plenty of badges and karma. The thing we don’t have at all is laurels, and they make it cost tons of laurels!

Honestly they want us to stop playing the game. They can’t give any clearer hints.

Please remove laurels and increase WvW badges requirement by 2x or 3x please. Atleast do this for the rings and give WvW players similar access to those that grind Fotm for rings. Keep the laurel require for amulet if you want but let us get rings using just badges while increasing cost by 2x or 3×.

I am pretty certain that the point has been made and that commanders from all servers might now consider action such as moving away from a tower that has possible exploiters in it. ( not as easily done as said )

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but it is very difficult to get all cat herding decisions 100% correct on the fly.

We had a nice train of resetting SBI/CD border with fellow SoS guilds. I think we did CD border 3 times and SBI twice. It was fun taught some new mesmers how to port etc. Back to the game.

Yep , thats why we avoided SoS bl on the very first min of our attack, we didn’t take both garrison and bay and bunch of other tower, it was all illusions. (btw good defending at hills sos)

That was an example of one possible outcome, the new system incorporates a random variable into the ranking calculation so you cannot predict who you will be fighting next week.

I don’t understand the latest conversation. Why would moving a fairly large NA guild to SoS (an Oceanic server) be a bad idea? That is exactly what SoS needs – NA people. Its a good move for the guild and a good move for the server.

SoS is leading because CD and SBI cannot keep up with the Oceanic times. Sure they may be leading even more with more NA presence. But to compete well in T3, they are goning to need that NA presence.

(I’m on SBI and would welcome more people moving here to my server of course but I’m not going to criticize someone for moving to a server that makes sense for their guild. I say welcome and I hope to get to meet them in battle.)

The only thing that will happen is they’ll move up in ranking, which will cause one of the other servers to drop down, But those servers are just like SoS right now, vastly outnumbering CD and SBI….so they’ll be doing what SoS is now, dominating with numbers alone.

Having 4 servers with similar population isn’t helpful when only 3 can be in a matchup.

Biggest complain SBI/CD have is our oceanic coverage. Yaks/Mag don’t have the oceanix we do imo so it will be better competition because matchup won’t be decided by coverage but fights during NA. SoS needs the NA to move up and be somewhat competitive in T3. So if we swap places with Yaks it will be better. KN will be same as SoS because they will just roll you with their SEA/Oceanic, unless EB comes up because they might offset KN oceanix and give the 3rd server in T4 a more balanced matchup. All of this doesn’t matter because we don’t know how the new matchups will be decided so bleh.

That’s biggest zerg in EB SoS is fielding I have seen since we faced SoR/TC

lol. Pot calling the kettle black. I think all of SBI is on EB. Atleast your zerg is more organized then ours. You guys scout/have might on move/stacks ranged in back with good frontline. Grats on getting the pugs trained. Our EB is least disciplined when guilds don’t form the core of the zerg. Many of our pugs will get a wake up call if we ever move to T3 and quality of play increases.

’The MoS Matchups tools has improved with the new API from Arena.net.

Now, with this API, scores are tracked every minutes and the site displays live matches result. The number of Camps, Towers and Keeps owned by a server are also available.

In addition, a new live map for each matchup is available. This map is updated every 15 seconds and logs each events so you can now find out what happend on your WvW battlefield. Objective names can be displayed on your own language.

The previous submission and validation system has gone. I wanted to thank all those who have valited your scores, day after day, to get this site updated as often as possible.
