Hi Anet,

SoS has been reporting a couple people siege capping by building lots of useless siege in last match on EB border and this week our home borderland in garrison. we have reported him in game. sent email to exploits@arena.net etc but still he is on today and keeps building useless siege and siege capping the map. What is the most efficient way to get this taken care of because normal channels are taking TOO long.

If I ever transfer, which is unlikely as WvW is not the only thing I do, and I love my guild (and they have stated that wont ever transfer as they are a Pve Guild mainly and CD is the unofficial LGBT server), I would do it to a T1 server not another mid-range server. I’m sure most “individuals” would do the same thing.

Yes! We do play games too you know, and look FABULOUS while owning other people.

I wasn’t assuming you didn’t, just didn’t know CD was known for that. Are other servers not friendly to LGBTs or do we just have a large population of them?

CD has just been LGBT server since start. I don’t think any server is not friendly.

Who we are.
The Emerald Fang is a family style guild that was created for Guild Wars 2, but also includes any other games that the members like to play. We understand that everyone has their own kind of style and their own goals in mind and we want to create a community that supports everyone whether you like WvW, sPvP, PvE or just hanging with some like minded people.

How we are organized.

We are an International based guild with members from US/AUS/NZ/BRA etc therefore we organize the guild with officers located in both US/EU/AUS time-zones. This allows us to have members on during most times of the day. Communication is important so we use the tools available to us (Forums, Shoutbox, Teamspeak) to effectively coordinate. We provide structure and events but we are casual. So members can attend any organized event when they want or they can use guild chat to get something started impromptu.

Who we want.

We want people who are friendly and like getting on and helping each other out. People who enjoy using forums and TS3 to communicate. We do ask that you be at least 18, but there can be exceptions.

What we require.
We require our members to REP us all the time
We require our members to be helpful/active in Guild and TS3.
We require our members to participate in WvW events on the weekend and guild missions events.

We do T3 Bounty/Trek/Rush/Challenge weekly with two other slots on the calender where we do T1 for those that can’t make the T3 time. We are currently waiting on merits for Guild Puzzle which should finish in 16 days. We plan on doing the guild missions atleast twice a week when we need break from WvW.

TLDR:

• WvW focused with Organized events
• Structure & Events planned but with a casual environment
• TS3 Server /w 512 slots
• Dungeons’ & Orr temple runs done when able

Just a FYI if you going off the website numbers they are off. We don’t clean the site off inactive users in case they want to come back. Easier to get in touch. In game we have average 60 players on throughout the day with peak of 40 NA during weekend. Goodluck with search.

One of the things that doesn’t make sense is that server like JQ which has 10x WvW players as SoS is classified as very high similar to SoS and many other T4-8 servers. The only reason people will ever have to transfer is WvW because of guesting. You can play PvE etc on any other server when you want so why is it that people trying to balance out lower tiers have to pay the same amount of gems to transfer as someone trying to stack on a winning server in T1/T2…. it doesn’t make sense.

Please change the server population status to reflect the total number of WvW players somehow. I know it won’t be easy but we can wait.

Also reduce population cap on WvW maps for each server so servers with lots of WvW players have a queue so they are forced to balance out the lower tiers or sit in queue for 1 hr etc. You might make some money from this.

@ CD players that saved their garrison few minutes ago. Nice JoB!. We didn’t have enough to kill the lord fast enough and take out the ballistas. Then all your map ported to garrison using wp once the event expired. Keep up the good fight!

Well, this week was the most fun I’ve had in a while since , except for a small period of time, no one has overwhelming numbers most of the time. Hopefully it stays like this next week even though we have another 3 guilds leaving to TC.

which guilds?

Naga, Awe, and EsF. At this point with so many guilds that had left CD, you guys included too, I don’t find myself surprised or anything at their leaving. Just don’t like their choice of TC since it was KH leaving to TC that lead to the exodus right before the free transfers end. That and a guys from TC posted on our forums a mini essay that talked a bit on how the transfers will benefit them amongst other things. Gee, is that supposed to make us feel better? You guys benefit but at the cost of CD, the mostly balanced matchup in T4, and the really balanced matchup in T2.

Honestly I always regretted my decision to leave CD but at the time with the information/guildies I had it was necessary. Anet forced our hand with leaving server transfers open for SUCH a long time. Every opponent server was getting reinforcements while CD got no love.

No matter where the new guilds go CD has always bounced back. It has been fun fighting people this week.

Hiya,

Our T3 towers on SoS border got exploited into. There were no swords. No siege used to hit walls/doors. They both flipped at 7:45pm server timer. Wasnt able to get screen because I wasn’t physically there so no screen of the culprit or guild name. All I have is the approximate time. The towers were tier3 with no walls/doors down with no enemy siege left when we got there. So how can I submit a ticket to get this looked into leading to some kind of resolution. I heard from a gw2 player on maguma and he mentioned similar instances back in their matchup as well.

If you can click on a wall and see it’s health don’t drop siege on it. Usually on hills keep try dropping the siege on the ramps. On garrison on corner of stairs. On bay back end of gates or corner of stairs. glhf

This is sad to hear about SoS. We went through the same on SBI, as you all know. All our experienced WvW guilds/players bolted and we became a beta server going up against servers that had 5 months of WvW experience. Not gonna lie, it was bad and being a player that was around for our tier 1 time, it was kitten hard to see.

BUT, we have stabilized and those that stuck around, shut down many of the negative influenced that would come in and troll about how bad we were in WvW. Crap like that just kills morale. If you stick through this it can be very rewarding but you must be realistic about what your server is now capable of accomplishing and as Calvin said, you will bounce back.

Being against SBI/CD after this reset should help as we are not nearly as zergy as DB/YB and are still relearning how to WvW as a server. Looking forward to this change in matchups.

In a month? And why wasn’t this picked up as an issue before release anyway? It was patently obvious as soon as I saw it happening for the first time after the change that sotzz was going to be almost impossible to find unless you were incredibly lucky.

This is actually just not true. Lots of guilds have been successfully taking this one down. It’s just a tad too difficult, so I’ll be adjusting it slightly.

Because they got lucky with spawn maybe or they have 100+ members looking for him or it’s not bugged on their server. Sottzz on SoS with 3 20-30 man guilds looking for him last 2-3 times has failed. It’s gotten to the point that when we see him on the list we just go farm orr and then requeue another tier3 until him or the ratlady yakona aren’t on the list. both of these require 50+ members to scout which isn’t possible unless you have 75+ active during your prime time.

This will also solve the skill lag issue in upper tiers that doesn’t show up as often in lower tiers because of lower population.

Lower tiers won’t be affected with this because they don’t have the population but will get new recruits form upper tiers who can’t do WvW because for 1-2 hr queues during weekdays.

Please anet be the bad guy for a week & fix skill lag and balance out pops in lower tier with one step!

What about the PvE servers whos WvW is empty yet server pop is very high?
Those servers wouldn’t get the xfers, for instance, my server.
That and people have server loyalty? You know. The guys who would rather suffer months of losing than to bandwagon off.

Then you will be balanced with appropriate tiers like now in lower tiers.
Lower queue timers > loyalty for WvW guilds especially the ones stacked in higher tiers.

Look at the nodes of the new Yakona rat lady too please. TOO many spawn points for that bounty as well. Make fighting the bounties the tough part not finding the things and wasting hours of time of medium size guilds with only 20-25 max to do bounty.

Before the 4 new guys introduced we used to be able to do T3 with 4mins left. Atleast 3 of the new guild missions added require 10ish people to do it under the 4-5 min timer to get away, combine that with Sottz and the Yanonka spawn possibilities our guild has failed T3 for the last 2 attempts. We usually have 18-25 guys do the bounty and scout all bounties. We then assign parties of 5-8 to target each and work down the list & we know the mechanics but it seems we need north of 30-35 people to be able to do it and get lucky enough not to get Sottz or Yanonka because those two spawn points are TOOO many and require north of 50 scouts.

Please look into making the fights unique and tough instead of making the scouting and finding the bounties the hard part and WASTE of time. Usually spend 1 hr minimum to find the stupid bounties to be able to do T3 with 20ish people. Gotten to the point where guild is like why bother.

Who knows what’s going to happen with SoS. How many guilds there, seeing SoS continue to sink, will jump ship? Most likely it will jump to tier 5 or 6. I believe it could easily compete in tier 4 with its current population, but I just don’t think it will keep its current population.

Everyone that was going to leave SoS has left. No other guild will be leaving. SoS will be rebuilding and just needs NA pop to become competitive in T2-3 which is easier to get then oceanics or SEA. So if you a NA guild come to SoS and be part of the comeback.

Don’t tell me you guys never took anything without resistance.

Huge difference between NNK upgrading in complete peace and DB NA queueing their own BL whenever a WPed home keep is threatened, and YB NA trying to upgrade against genuine zergs and trying to defend NNK with about 20 pugs, max. But I wasn’t talking about symmetry at all, I was just pointing out that the structures that DB NA inherits makes them appear much stronger PPT-wise than they really are.

I won’t begrudge anyone “taking easier stuff” when the match outcome is still in doubt, but at this time of week we just want to fight, and its just frustrating to see our opponents intentionally seeking pvdoor. I guess I can understand losing your taste for battle after 10 wipes, but after just 1 or 2? Come on.

WvW is a coverage game, to complain or begrudge a server because they have better coverage is pointless. with that said, DB can use additional NA coverage; I think this point has been made week after week. Although, our NA could use more numbers we are doing a fantastic job keeping yaks from closing the gap during their prime time. Our SEA group is great and deserve a ton of credit for our servers successes.

I’m not complaining about coverage, I am arguing against this strange idea that DB NA is doing a “fantastic job.” You are doing approximately what could be expected given your numbers, ours, the structures you inherit from NNK, and the relative lack of a 3rd server.

It may seem strange to you, but having 200PPT during NA hours is pretty dang good for DB, especially against the zergs YB fields during NA prime. Anyone seen SoS lately?

Haha. DB resets every upgrade during EU and has their own ugpraded T3 keeps with WP for NA. YB has to fight a uphill battle with numbers while SoS has to fight a uphill battle with pugs and pvers with no WvW guilds left. DB is taking easy wins because YB/SoS won’t focus on you ALL the time because you have coverage and thats the way game is meant to be played. Instead YB plays for #2 by resetting SoS’s borderland during NA time. It’s not going to get any more even with Maguma coming around if YB doesn’t change strat.

haha. yea EU pvdooring leading to NA timezone is the same as NA pvdooring to SEA to AUS timzone with 2-3 hr gaps in between. Apples & Oranges imo. YB will win when they work with #3 server and push DB off all maps during ALL of NA and some of SEA etc during the weekend.
