Who we are.
The Emerald Fang is a family style guild that was created for Guild Wars 2, but also includes any other games that the members like to play. We understand that everyone has their own kind of style and their own goals in mind and we want to create a community that supports everyone whether you like WvW, sPvP, PvE or just hanging with some like minded people.

How we are organized.

We are an International based guild with members from US/AUS/NZ/BRA etc therefore we organize the guild with officers located in both AUS/US time-zones. This allows us to have members on during most times of the day. Communication is important so we use the tools available to us (Forums, Shoutbox, Teamspeak) to effectively coordinate. We provide structure and events but we are casual. So members can attend any organized event when they want or they can use guild chat to get something started impromptu.

Who we want.

We want people who are friendly and like getting on and helping each other out. People who enjoy using forums and TS3 to communicate. We do ask that you be at least 18, but there can be exceptions.

TLDR:

• WvW focused
• Organized with 3 Commanders
• Structure & Events planned but with a casual environment
• Alt runs & map completion runs
• TS3 Server /w 512 slots
• PvE /w dungeons & map completion for alts & main
• International guild with Members from EST/CST/PST US + AUS+NZ+BRA+Japan+China etc so someone always on.
• Members enjoy other games outside GW2 with fellow guildies including Minecraft/LoL/PS2

Does this mean that you’ll be insta-killed if you disconnect when in combat mode, or strictly when you’re currently in the middle of fighting another player? Because it’d suck to be stuck in combat mode (e.g. after being hit by trash mobs) and disconnect (accidentally or just because you’re done for the day) only to find yourself dead and with damaged/broken armor when you log in again.

If it’s strictly when you’ve been hit recently by a player during combat then that’s great, though!

Either way. PvE got more interesting this way too

Awesome. love the breakout events. This will make people defend fully capped maps instead of hopping to next.

Any thoughts on disabling orbs in the coming weeks to stop even matches from getting lopsided from orb hacking etc? Once you work the system out you can reenable.

I would like to invite all Oceanic/EU guilds/players to CD for WvW. CD has several benefits for both Oceanics/EU players. CD has NO queues for oceanic/eu players during the week. We have a SOLID core of oceanic guilds that are helpful and willing to work to improve the server. CD has a huge pve player base that likes to play every aspect of GW2 so you will have something to do if you don’t like to WvW 7 days a week. CD has a diverse community made up of different nationalities/affiliations NAs, Brazilians, Malaysians, AUS, NZ etc. We are one of the few servers which have maintained a solid community with little to no attrition even when we lose. We understand that people have lives/careers/families and only ask everyone try their best when they can play.

Guilds that get the transferred guilds like BG,IoJ,SoS are winners.
ET/HoD/DB which bleed the guilds are biggest casualties from server transfers.
CD/T2 candidates with no influx of guilds and status quo coverage are casualties of Server transfers as well.

If CD can get 1-2 big oceanic guilds transfer and help our oceanics we can really give IOJ a tough matcup for rest of the week. Right now our day time presence is doing best we can with IOJ’s new daytime prescence which got a boost recently. ET needs to be in the fight too because IOJ just takes ET’s objectives and got 50 point lead today which it held till now so now they are up by 1.2k.

We will try again tomorrow and the day after that and so on and on till Friday reset

Wow Jedahs. Trying to recruit the OP, who plays in a time zone where your server is already strong, from a server of which you’re already receiving a huge influx of WvW focused NA guilds, effectively crippling it. Have a little tact maybe eh? Talk a about lack of class.

DB has excellent guilds. IF some of them leave I am sure DB will still remain a contender in Tier3. Good luck with rebuilding efforts.

Is this going to be fixed soon? especially before the next matchup? Just roll back everything you tried to fix since couple days ago.

I think TC EU/Oceanics can easily transfer to CD and be in a T2 server. NA guilds are welcome too but it might increase our queue from 30 mins to 1 hr. We are always looking to work with NA guilds and appreciate the fine work Oceanics do.

Um if you have other concerns make your own thread. I am talking about the centaurs that getting farmed for xp/karma/mats etc instead of those people taking WvW objectives.

Can you please nerf the drops from centaurs and nerf the experience from that pve event or increase the time for when events happen since people have started farming these centaurs to level or gather mats or karma. They are taking up valuable queue spots from WvW players. Some kind of nerf or deterrent would be appreciated.

One of the CD orbs is bugged. Made a post in game bugs to get it visibility.

Atleast one of the orbs that CD has is bugged because we have two orbs but only one of the buffs is counting. Please fix if you can.

Hope IoJ oceanic goes for ET first and not go for easier CD points

Fang TS3 is open to all WvW players looking for organized play. If you are from a big guild like Merc or KA feel free to send a rep there just to hear what we trying to do. You can use us as a decoy or work with us. Fine either way as long as we gain the objective. I currently have atleast 4-5 guid reps in our TS3 during peak hours. It is much more efficient to just call out a particular guild to defend camp/resupply then to send a party of 5 from fang. It build teamwork within the guild this way as well. I would like to get KA or Merc to coordinate with us since you have 10x the numbers or fang. I am also going to have my commander title by Thursday so we can see how that works.

I think Anet needs to improve guild functionality before it attempts to improve alliance functionality or add it. I have to use a spreadsheet to track when last guilds members log. MOTD doesn’t get shown when it’s changed or when users login. I think showing people’s account name in bold always and showing character name in faded text will allow users to associate account names better since people are creating 2-3 alts already.

Crystal Desert players how is it that last week when we were dominating without much challenge I sit in an hour queue every night for whatever I queued.

And this week when its a challenge I get insta queue for 2/3 borderlands almost all day and later at night I get insta queue for EB and CD borderlands as well.

Last night I had outmanned in EB, last week there was never a time 24/7 that EB didn’t have a queue.

People like winning and get discouraged easily. That wasn’t really back to topic though. Getting organized guilds working together in prime time US will give us better chances of holding out the weekend.

back on topic. This thread has allowed me to get in touch with couple great guilds in US prime time. We are all on our TS now when in WvW and coordinating whichever map we get to. If you are interested in helping CD become organized and want to work with other US prime time guilds please contact me.

There needs to be expedited way that hackers get banned. if i submit a video of someone hacking I hope we can expect quick IP ban and publicly show that the person is banned to deter further hacking.

First of all CD is a great server. We are just a little disorganized in NA time. I am looking to change this. If you are willing to invest time into leading a organized WvW group please read on.

I am looking for a AUS/Singpore GW2 player who wants to create a guild or be a officer of a WvW focused guild. The guild will have a few requirements which we can discuss but we will give WvW a priority over pve/spvp. We will ask the following of our members:
1) Active participants in guild during WvW events & atleast listen on Voicecomm.
2) Actively represent our guild for 90% of the time. I understand people like to build guild banks using influence so we will give each member a max of week-2weeks to gather gold and buy the drinks that you get influence with to build the basic bank.
3) Be respectful of other guildmates and guilds on server and try to work with them to make CD a better WvW server.

If you are interested in leading a WvW group and are from US prime time please message me. If you are a player who wants to be part of such a guild on CD please message me as well. I am going to be on JQ borderlands most of this week if you would like to play with me and see how I lead to try it out before joining.

While you are fixing this can you also fix the fact that trebs placed on SW ice of garrison can hit bay keep door/wall and can’t be taken down. For last 2 days JQ has been hitting our keep from garrison with 5-6 trebs.

We’ve fought maguuma at least once before. And we were winning when I went to bed, but my guildy said we lost. So i’ll take them as being higher as valid.

however, tarnished got creamed by us. And while we’re tied on wins with dragonbrand, our loss to them was crystal desert more than anything, as seen by our devastating victory the second time around.

The FA brackets have just been so sad. Right out the starting gate we fought JQ…
Then after our win we had to face crystal desert and bounced down again
After that win we had to face janthir… Then it decided we were still totally good enough to face sorrows… (Note how both janthir and sorrows are above crystal desert. So we lost to crystal, won 1 match and suddenly the brackets thought it was totally cool to back to back us against teams above the people who just got done creaming us)
Then it decides to send us against crystal desert AGAIN
At which point we finally get some matchups we can win (2 of them)
before it says “hey aspenwood, know who you havent fought in a while? CRYSTAL DEEEEESEEEERT”

Its like, every time we start to do good it just decides to lump us against CD and drop us down some more.

CD appreciates the ego boost the FA win provides us

Um from the title I thought you going to say it should be merit based but you want it even easier. NTY.

I would like the 100g to be appended with 1000 badges or some kind of achievement based for WvW like kill count so people have to invest the time into and be good at it.

+1 or make them 10x bigger so I don’t miss them in grass.

I hope enough people agree that 2 weeks will be TOO long for a match rotation. 1 Week seems best since its not as short as 24 hrs so it gives time to take back maps if you had a bad day but it seems most matches there is a clear dominant server that gets a lead of 20k+ and match drags on even during the 1 week matches.

My thinking is that queue is so long because one of the 3 servers currently doesn’t have the people the other 2 so to make sure there isn’t too much population imbalance the cap is low. We are hoping when we go up against top4 server we will see queue time lessen for CD. NA guilds are emerging and getting more organized.

Like I mentioned in the first post that CD does have a night presence but it’s no where near the presence on ET,JQ,HoD &possibly SBI. We will be going against one of these 4 next whichever is left out of the top tier match. To make the second tier fun one of the servers has to have the oceanic presence that these servers do while having the NA presence & organization. CD is a well rounded server which can make tier 2 fun for the 4th server which gets left out of Tier 1.

Logically Next matchup will probably be CD vs JQ vs IOJ (If IOJ keeps second place in current match).

I play on Blackgate during off-peak hours, and I’ll say this, CD nightplayers are organized and do well. Because we dont have much of a night presence (maybe 25-30 online) and its now weekdays, so no all-nighters from the US players, we’ve just been wiped off the map by a very organized CD.
Though I’d love more Oceanics on Blackgate (we seem to be losing more and more of our players), I believe that CD could very well be a top 3 server once they fill out the night players, considering they already have a base WvW population for it.

I would be happy if we get more Oceanics to compete against the 4th server which gets left out of HoD matchup. A little more organization and some more oceanic guilds we can compete.

I hate when they use the dead person to spot the range on trebs, that is annoying.

I’ll admit that I am not running W3 with a guild. However, when I get into the map, I ask “What’s the plan?” I look for a group of people to run around with and do my best to not get caught out alone. However, tonight, there didn’t seem to be much of a centralized plan, and there seemed to be few people on my team. We were simply outnumbered and there was little we could do about it.

voice comm/siege/choke points and 1 leader will solve your problems. If you are looking for WvW as your pass time come to CD and whisper me in game. I usually do WvW every night.

Please don’t tell him that he needs a guild when there’s literally no way to join WvW in an organized fashion. Unless you’re in a guild with 100+ players, the chances that you will meet a guildie inside WvW is extremely low. Even when we all queue up at once, rarely does it let more than a handful of players inside in the span of most people’s gaming hours.

Um. ya. It takes 30mins-1hr for 10 people to get in but once they in form 2 parties and Move as one. WvW is not intended to be soloed, even taking sentry points now you are likely to be killed by patrols. Finding a guild outside of WvW, then you get on voice comm and decide which map to queue for. Usually your home map has the highest queue so queue for a borderland. Form parties after people get inside. A party of 5 can cause havoc on enemy supply lines/camps, take down enemy defenses and then call in map chat for commander to bring in troops after oil/canons etc are down. Just have to communicate.

What server are you with? Have you looked for a WvW organized guild to run with players in group? I run with 10-15 people and encounter larger forces all the time. It’s all about teamwork.

I am requesting Oceanic guilds to consider CD as their destination. Transfer here during off peak hours. We have a decent US population and average oceanic population in terms of numbers. Only a few oceanic guilds are organized but we are holding our own against Blackgate and Gate of Madness currently. We are currently ranked #10 on the list but that is incorrect and doesn’t reflect CD’s abilities correctly. We have the capability to be #5 or #6 and need help from more Oceanic population.

TLDR
Transfer to CD if you are a Oceanic guild since we have a decent Oceanic population currently with little to no queues during nighttime. Our current Oceanic population is holding our server because they are organized but we can use more people to relieve these guilds since they can’t play 14days straight.
