About us:

We are Mental Oblivion [Mew], a rather “new” pvp team.
Reno and I have been pvp’ing togheter for about two years and decided to start pvp’ing more seriously. About 2 weeks ago, we met the Newcastle twins Sam and Dale. A duo that learns incredibly quick observing and playing around. As the four of us started running matches togheter, that turned out quite well and we decided to aim for a full pvp team, who wants to be ready for the upcoming leagues, ESL tournaments and even WTS, if we ever get that far.

Current setup/ setup we aim for:

-Shatter Mesmer (Vindex, Belgium)
-Thief (Yet to be discovered)
-Bunker Guard (Dale, UK)
-Marauders Engi (Reno, Netherlands)
-D/D Ele (Sam, UK)

What we are looking for:

A Thief. Someone who goes to bed with his thief in mind, dreams about it and wakes up thinking about it again. Someone who’s commited to his class and is ready to commit to a team, leagues and tournaments. Shortly, we want a person who knows what his class is meant for, knows where/when to rotate and isn’t afraid to speak up on teamspeak. Good spirit is a must, because besides winning we still want to be making fun whilest playing a game. Trainings are still every now and then, untill we know when everyone’s available.

At first, that wasn’t a problem as I did pvp exclusively. Now I started doing some fractals as well and you can understand it’s a pain if you have to remake a character because you want another race.

Is it even possible to have something like this included in the Gem Store for example?

I’ve been doing quite some fractals the past half year
and I’m fed up getting pug groups. Are there any Fotm oriented Guilds recruiting?
Basically I just want a place to stay where people play fractals on daily base, so I can join in every now and then.

I’m running fractals on mesmer (yes, it is underrated, especially after the new patch)
I currently got 60 ar on her equipped. Apart from that I’m gearing up my thief (slow but steady) to get her ready for fractals as well.

My name is Vindex. Well, not really, but you can call me Vindex.
The past year and a half I’ve been spending my time in PvP.
I have over 3k matches and ran a PvP guild for about a year called ReVo.

I am able to grant you a medi guard or shatter mesmer.
The first half year of pvp I’ve been playing all classes, to get used to them en be able to react to each single class/build.
My rotations are fine, been running with decent teams quite a lot.

I guess you guys might have been there before.
I played elementalist for quite a long time and decided to make incinerator because I like the skin. My ele is an asuran. After spending a lot of time on crafting this legendary I was rather dissapointed.

Boom. My tiny, cute asuran changed into a fireball. Could anyone explain me why the fire arm wraps are so excessive on an asuran?

You can bareley see anything left of his arms, while on other classes you clearly have the fire wraps aswell, tho not that excessive, looking way better. I feel like my asuran got no arms left anymore. Which looks ugly in my opinion. Is there anyone out there who agrees with me? Is there anything I could possibly do about it?

Please help me find my asurans arms back.

PMS (Perpetual Motions Squad) is a new formed team, although the 4 current members have been playing togheter for quite a long time. We are not looking for ‘pro’ PvP players, but keen and willing to learn and improve with us, as we are not pro either. Having knowledge about rotations, builds and a sense of humor is a must. We do expect you are familiar with PvP, being aware of the basics.

The class we’re looking for are:
- Celestial Engineer
And this should be your main class.

- S/D Thief (Impact, UK)
- Celestial Elementalist (Random, UK)

The player we’re looking for should have:
- Good knowledge about their classes and the role of their classes in PvP.
- Calm temper, no rage quitters, no sexists, racists or cat owners!
- Teamspeak and the ability to communicate.

We need active people, who we can count on. We’ll play (almost) every day and will work actively on the improving of our team.

The topic is getting too long I can read and reply everything. Anyway I have stated what I think about shatter ele. It is too strong, has way to few counters, and overwall toxic for the game. I would even go further and say zerker specs are the reason spvp is not a popular game mode. Probably there are more people doing living story or even jumping puzzles than spvp nowadays.

Be hard or easy to play also is not a good argument. The balance should be done based on how the best players perform with the class not how the normal or bad player perform. No class should be broken and king of 1v1 just because it is “harder” to play.

For crying out loud what where you thinking, Just please try to play it on a high level.
There are way too many classes who can beat a shatter mesmer up at this very moment, watching top players fighting each other. Most of the time I find myself trying to run away from another d/p thief who’s waiting to get me backstabbed.

Shatter mesmer is absolutly the class that needs a nerf the least. About the top players you’re talking about, I am very curious who you watched and especially, who were the opposite ‘top players’. If they can not destroy a mesmer, it depends more on the opposite player than the mesmer himself.

And please now go, eat a cookie or something, but leave shatter mesmers, we’ve been destroyed for way too long.
