Prestige Skin? A toogle of option?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
I’m hoping so with every Update, but the RNG of the Mushrooms has never been touched. The only response from ArenaNet to this topic is over one year ago. I dont know, if they care at all. (Broad hint to Matthew, Gaile or someone else.)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
Buying Bolt is less expansive than buying one of the Trading Post listed Boots. ArenaNet should put a “Invisible Boot Chest Hunt” in the game >.<
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
It’s been a whole year now of Daily Mushroom Slaying. I feel tricked, robbed and cheated, and the prices still rising. Not once I saw someone posting a Boot Chest in this time. That says it all about the ridiculous RNG. I’m sick of this!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
That’s flipping insane that people can speed run and complete world exploration within weeks. I guess I have to completely dedicate myself specifically to exploring the world in order to do it though.
As I said: I do not have other goals (except for increasing money). Sometimes it feels monotonous, so I do 100 % while watching a film. And because I make tons of EXP, I refrain from using Tomes of Knowledge.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
If I really, really, really enjoy my new class and have vacation, I manage world completion in about 7 days. If not, let’s say 2 – 3 weeks. It is my goal for all of my characters like in GW 1. I do not want to make people waiting for me, because I do not have the necessary Waypoints. All of my characters should be ready to call for every task, this also includes maps like Silverwastes, Southsun Cove or Ember Bay.
Because I have 1 character for each class and every way to play (Direct Damage, Condition Damage, Support, …), I have a lot of characters available. As I said: This is my main goal for the game. Therefore, I do not have one single Legendary Weapon for example. And of course: There are more players like me. I saw someone with 4 or 5 more world completions in LA.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
I think, General Morgahn is a obvious choice.
People do want Spears → so give them (Underwater-)Spears. Higher attack speed than Hammers, but not that strong.
You wont need much imagnination for Slot Skills → Shouts. Supporting your allies within earshot or maybe debuff the enemy. Shouts have no activation time and work with higher range as the Glint Facets, but cant be upkept like the Facets.
It is really simple.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
Check the price/the drop rate of the Invisible Boot Box, a random drop which costs more than legendary weapons.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
I did map completion 100 % with all of my characters. So I have do do all Renown Hearts again (25 characters), to get 100 % (display) permanent?

The problem is not the champ. The problem is the little room to fight with massive AOE fields.
It is a very narrow passage. You can only fall back and not dodge aside. The Boss regenerates, if the only player moves to far to the north (entrance) or to the back of the spawn point (dead space).
A good way to deal with the boss, is, to have a defensive player at the ground and range players above. The bottom player kites while the other deal damage at safe distance to the AOE fields. Important is: If there is only one player below, he may not lose to much distance to the Boss’ spawn point, or the Boss regenerates.
But I agree: There must be an easier way, also for small player groups.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
This one is new to me. First drop since I started farming. I guess it has the same drop chance as the Boot Box (?), so another failure :o

The NPC’s are the same as they have been in every story instance since the game launched. Why now, four years later, are some people complaining about them?
That is not completly correct. Most of the NPC’s in the Personal Story wont deal much damage (in fact, no damage after all). But there are some exceptions (Sayeh al’ Rajihd for example). However, in Heart of Thorns nearly all NPC’s deal moderate damage including the members of Dragon’s Watch while playing the Story.
The NPC’s behavior in the latest part of the Living Story is strange. Rytlock deals absolutely no damage. However, in the last chapter , you can observe how Marjory and Caithe are dealing with some Mordrem – and they did well.

Hold on a sec! On the one hand you will nerf the players abillity to revive downed allies, but on the other hand you buff a gemstore item for reviving people? Am I the only one, who thinks, that’s a bit fishy? Split the reviving changes wise for PvP and PvE with the planned Update please.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
There’s just too many factors contributing to its rarity. It only drops from a certain mob, that mob is only visible if you’ve trained up to a certain mastery level, that mob only appears in a select few locations, you only have 1 chance per location to potentially loot the skin, and then of course the drop rate is ridiculously low. It just makes it pointless to even bother trying.
How about having treasure mushrooms drop an invisible scrap of cloth when killed. Then, you can turn in maybe 500 of those and trade for an account bound invisible skin. I think after killing 500 and one still hasn’t dropped, that’s enough grinding for a consolation prize. Make it account bound so you can’t just sell the skin. If you want to sell the skin, you still have to hope for a drop.
Or just stick them in the gem store, I’ll buy all three. (Unless the price is just goofy.)
Or, make it a toggle, like it should have been in the first place.Your complaint is that a rare item is rare.
That’s the point.
Rare items are rare. That’s why rare items in GW2 are cosmetic rather than stat enhancements, so that you don’t NEED rare items, but you can chase them down if you WANT them. It’s the same way they worked in the first game for a good reason. It works. It’s fair. It allows the game to have rare drops without also creating a situation where only the richest or luckiest players have access to the best gear.
Demanding items be more accessible just because you WANT them leads to a homogenized loot table where the very act of looting is broing, and all loot could be easily replaced with nothing but currency.
That is not a game I want to play.
In that case the statement is misleading. The item is not rare, because it is locked behind a super difficult content. It is rare because it has a very low drop rate. You can’t work toward to that aim. All you can do is hope for Lady Luck – and that’s BS.
I guess, we agree in the point, that hard work has to pay off. But where is the point, that you can spend hours for nothing, while others simply got a lucky hand? This is not fair, quite the reverse.
I agree absolutely, that the game needs rare items. But RNG is not the right way for it. That’s why ArenaNet introduced the Scavenger Hunt, to let players work specific for their Precursor. (Unfortunately) they decided to consider the economy, so you still have to spend a lot of money and crafting materials for it. But hey: It is a start and some people really seem to enjoy the hunt.

I am wondering, if the Boot chests only drop in Dragon’s Stand. That would explain the very low stock of Invisibile Boots in the game. The people in this thread who were lucky finding a chest also mentioned the drop at Dragon’s Stand (if i am not wrong). I dont even try to farm the Mushroom at Bloodstone Fen, I don’t have trust in it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
I explored 2 more maps and got 1 Key on each map. It seems my streak of bad luck is finally over. So, as I said: It was just bad luck the other times.

Dredgehaunt Cliifs now too. Just my luck … But it has never been so bad.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
There are no starter citys in my calculation (after 24 Characters with map completion, that fact is well known to me). Explored:
- Bloodtide Coast
- Lornar’s Pass
- Timberline Falls
- Gendarran Fields
- Harathi Hinterlands
- Queensdale
- Kessex Hills
- Brisban Wildlands
- Metrica Province
- The Silverwastes
- Dry Top
- Bloodstone Fen
- Verdant Brink
- Auric Basin
- Tangled Depths
- Dragon’s Stand
- Southsun Cove (not in my Calculation)
I received 2 keys, perhaps it was even only 1 (miscalculated because of personal story).
Edit:
- Dredgehaunt Cliffs just now → no key as well

I explored 16 maps since the last weeks and have noticed a significant low “Drop rate” of Black Lion Keys for Map completion. If I am not wrong, I count only 2 keys for 16 maps. I did World completion with all characters I have, but never received so little reward. Was there any change to the drop rate?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
I still have hope – with every update, that is released …
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
It’s been a while, but I guess, nothing changed: Guild Wars 2: 64 keys Black Lion Chest . But hey: Most of the time i’m unlucky and used to it (10 months of Treasure Mushroom farming – and nothing). I would never, never, never spend money for keys.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
That ‘s what I thought. Kinda dumb, I guess … Why make it harder, when the answer is so simple: It is RNG. That’s it – sadly.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
I noticed, that there are some Events with invisible opponents. Do you have the Advanced Logistics Mastery?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
As a result of introducing Invisible Boots, you can abandon the idea of an option to simply hide Armor pieces. People spend a lot of money to get some of these. I can not imagine, that ArenaNet will bring a option right now to the point we already are. Introducing new invisible Armor pieces, maybe …
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
I have a theory: Since some time, I am suspicious of the description of the Treasure Mushroom. Maybe I am totaly wrong, maybe it IS cheap RNG – I dont know. Anyway: I gonna turn of the auto loot and observe the behavior of the Mushroom, when there are loot bags/chests around. Yes, that is my theory … I also tried to throw away some boots from my Inventory in the hope, something happens. I am desperate, so I will give it a try. I am still thinking, there must be a trick or something …
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
I was very relieved, that I had unlocked this skin with PvP the early days. After all: It took ArenaNet (nearly?) 2 years to give players a chance, to obtain this skin after they removed it from PvP. I can not deny: It is a good skin. I also really like the idea of having anklets or straps for footwear. The problem is: Except of this skin (and a few others for light armor classes) and some Armor Sets the choice is very limited, especially for medium and heavy armor classes.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
People are more interested in toogle of Chest armor, especially for Norn (tattoo) and Charr (fur).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
You can put lipstick on the pig. It is, what it is: Grind and the nastiest sort of RNG.
If I sell all my stuff, maybe I could buy me a a pair for each weight class, but would go away empty-handed. 3 years of playing – all gone in a few seconds; for something, what comes not even close to Legendary Equipment or ultra handsame Weapon skins.
All I’m asking for (and I guess, many other people too) is a FAIR chance to obtain this skin

This is generally known and the reason, people here are upset.

It’s about 9 months now, since I started farming farming these kittenbags. 9 months, every day 3 or more Mushrooms. Makes about nearly 1000 mushrooms in total. Or in other words: I failed nearly 1000 times. That’s what it is: Failing. 1000 times. Buying one or another Legendary weapon cost less than this -> simple <- customization.
I beg you to stop this madness! Please!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
Players finally get the Tribal Armor Set as PvP-/WvW-reward. So let’s make 500 more posts and wait two more years. Maybe …
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
We’re close to our 9th month of having the chance to get a drop.
As some skins have been flipped on TP some people must have unlocked the skin in their wardrobes.
9 months, ehh? Thanks for the reminder.
9 months x 30 days x 3 mushrooms = …
Oh yeah! I failed about 800 times getting this equipment. It feels great! Just kidding … It sucks …
Oh, wait: What about Dragon’s Stand? => That makes at least 100 further attempts.
Can you smell the failure? I do. Every – kittening – day.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
I know, how you guys feel. Personally, I feel cheated. It’s been now 6 months with daily mushroom slaying, and I have reached the threshold of over 700 Mushrooms now. And every time, I’m looking at the Trading Company, I could puke. It’s like the very same people are seeling these items over and over again, so the rich get richer.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
Please tell me, you have also added the Invisible Boots …
Why did you have to teach me these were a thing? They’re not even for all armor classes. I don’t have 7k gold for this.
There are invisible feet for all weights. Type “invis” into your wardrobe search at the bank. They just drop so incredibly rarely from treasure mushrooms that they sell obscenely high. I think that should be fixed, myself, no matter how much screaming there’ll be from people hoarding them or people who spent the high amount of gold to get a pair. … though if a pair dropped for me while I could sell it that high and then buy a permanent hair kit, I wouldn’t complain … >.>
I still think, there might me a trick aside from just bad RNG …

Please tell me, you have also added the Invisible Boots …
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
30 pages of text and not a single word to the treasure mushrooms. It seems, ArenaNet is fine with it just the way it is …

Today we hit rock bottom.
Honestly: Are people serious about the prize or are they joking? After 6 months of farming at least 3 mushrooms daily (and 1 month doing the 3 in Dragon’s Stand inclusive) I am not sure anymore. In the whole time I have not even seen someone getting these item boxes.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
How about a little bit increasing the drop chance with todays update? Over 3 months of daily Mushroom slicing – and nothing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
So, nothing about increasing the drop rate of Invisible Boot Chests and todays Mushrooms are greedy as ever. I guess, I have to buy them now. Oh, wait!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
Over two months now I’m farming the 3 mushrooms on the first 3 maps (and from time to time Dragon’s Stand) – and nothing. This is ridiculous. All I wish for is a FAIR chance to optain these boxes, beyond unfair RNG.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
Congratulations! I’m doing at least 3 mushrooms a day since 3 weeks now and the 3 Mushrooms at Dragon’s Stand 1 or 2 times a week, but nothing. I have no really hope to gain all 3 chests, if the drope rate stays at this level. The price at the Trading company drops a bit, but still way to high.

Fixed with todays patch. Thanks!

Very soon I will have a problem: You see it, you know it. Only a few characters left, till I want to play the HoT-Story with my remaining (Charr-)Characters. 13 other Characters did the entire Story and 100 % map completion. And still: no Invisibile Boot Chest.

Suggestion: Modremoth fight (dead players)
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Maria Murtor.7253
The idea came to me today while doing the story with my 10. Character:
I’m sure, that no one really likes the idea of beeing locked out in the last battle against Modremoth, if you die. So I remembered the fight against Dhuum (Guild Wars 1). If you die in this battle, you can rejoin the battle as a ghostly remain of your former self with unique attacks to support your party on a special way.
This is exactly, what makes sense in the last fight against Modremoth. You can rejoin your fighing party as “Nightmarish Remains” with unique skills to support your party and weaken Mordremoth’s defense. While battling, these party members could have very own enemys (they can only attack and get attacked by Nightmarish Remains) to make the fight more difficult.
From the very beginning people have the choise (like in Guild Wars 1 by just get killed as the battles starts), to fight as one of these Nightmarish Remains or just normal. If a players dies agains, while fighting as Nightmarish Remain, other players (only other Nightmarish Remains?) can revive them. If all party members are in this form, the battle is over = restart.
I think, this is a good compromise and I would appreciate changes like that. Anything is better than been locked out for the whole fight. You really feel bad. You cant help you party and Modremoth is still scaled up, because you are still in the mission. Basically it is exactly, what people do not like while doing big open world Events: Dead party members scaling up the event.

2.000 gold, eh? Could buy them, but the problem is: I need all 3 of them of course … (= all money, i have earned in 3 years of gaming).
I have high doubts, if the Treasure Mushrooms really drop this sh…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
Patch Notes don’t show any adjustments to the droprates. Let’s keep on farming and see if anybody of us ever gets them.
I hoped so too. Again a major disappointment … Killing 3 – 4 Mushrooms every day for the last 3 weeks.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghA_efMiWkg
I don’t know how many players that aren’t developers would want to keep an online blog/diary of their every move in-game. It would likely take much more time than actually playing.
Personally, I would not hold my breath.
Still, good luck.
I did … to log the frustration of farming rare items. And yes: I had nothing else to do these days.
