I understand that there will never be any half norn half charr running around. I am fine with that. But, lets say a male Norn challenged his female Charr friend to a drinking contest. If they drink so much and black out would it be plausible that they would end up sleeping with each other?

I use the hammer too almost exclusively…..because symbol of protection is awesome and i love mighty blow. I only said increase the Cool Down only because i guess as guardians we aren’t supposed to have a snare which why we have that god aweful trait that your hammer maybe could on crit give 4 seconds of fronzen? which is cool and all except the 45second cool down. If you have 1 trait that forces one ability to become 20seconds and another that reduces it by 4 it only increases it 1 second. Im not sure if my math is good enough. =P

I was looking at our traits late one night and noticed how most of weapon centric traits are just a simple 5% damage. What i was thinking that instead of 5% Damage the Scepter trait added 5% damage AND made ALL scepter skills 1200 range. Since it is really the only ranged option most guardians use (Staff is just weird) It would fix a lot of the problems most folks face when forced into situations that require ranged combat I.E. WvWvW.

Also the other skills that just grant a base 5% damage are kind of meh. Maybe combine zealot’s blade and 5% damage greatsword trait into just one master level trait leaving room for a new Grandmaster trait that could be utalized by other weapons. Mace is defensive weapon. instead of just a damage increase I rather see a trait that gives 5% chance on hit to grant aegis for 5 seconds or protection for 5 seconds for you and your party. Sword and Spear Damage trait is kind of odd. If you combine two weapons into one trait its should be Spear and trident. Spear damage increased by 5% and Trident should increases the number of bounces on its skill #1 or the healing for skill #1 by “X” amount. Sword should be 5% damage + Increased range on zealot’s defense or have zealot’s defense omi directional. Lets talk Hammer. Its trait i feel is kind of really meh. The hammer trait should make it so that Zealot’s Embrace adds 6 seconds of cripple. 2 of those seconds are eaten up by the immobolize but increases the recharge rate of Zealot’s Embrace by 5 Seconds.

Just my silly view of how some guardian traits should work.

Hammer 5 may not say it but is a light combo field. Test it with Mighty blow its kinda cool.

I’m still just curious as of why the Knights gear is toughness in PvE and not Vitality in like it is in PvP? As guardian who has a very tiny health pool I am curious.

Mediations are amazing i love them but due to lack of pve stat choices ( Vit > Precision + Power gear.) i am unable to play terrible deep in to Valor. That is a horse of a different color. May i say first i belive all Mediation Skills should be instant. Focused Mind i would like to see it so when you use a Mediation skill you immune to conditions for 3 seconds. Nothing feels worse when you use CoP and you see all the conditions you just removed insantally applied back on to you. I don’t think a class who deals very few conditions (Although some pretty powerful ones if time right i.e. Blind/Immoblize, and Burn is pretty awesome as well. Giving in a one minute period 18 seconds of condition immunity would total game breaking PvP wise Probably wouldn’t make to much difference in WvWvW (i don’t play WvWvW because my machine can’t handle it.) Heck 2 seconds immunity to conditions would seem pretty nifty being a total of 12 seconds in a 1 minute time span. I don’t think stun or daze are conditions so you could still stun or daze knock down knock back a guardian after they use a meditation skill. Just my silly idea anyway.

The Plunderer’s spear charge is a little hard to notice when your up close and there is pretty pretty graphics going on around him. Would it be possible for a little text bubble to pop up that says “Yarrr!” or something simalar about 1/2 second before he charges? It doesnt need to be voiced or have any audio at all just a little text bubble that says “Yarrr!”

Looking at all the stats on the dungeon armor availble i don’t see any set with stats Vitality > Power + Precision. I see many different armor sets sharing simalar stats I.E. Power Precision Critical Damage shared between CoE and Arrah. I would just like see more armor sets stat wise reflect the pvp necklaces so that i may freely choose the stats i prefer.

Ecthelion my first post when i created this thread was due to my grouping experience prior to my soldier heavy groups where i couldn’t take refuge in my symbol of protection and my damage and usefulness tanked because i was the only soldier in the group and spent a lot of time chasing a boss. Melee does even better than ranged focus groups in my experience. Soldier oriented Melee groups are awesome.

When i made this post i was dieing a lot in dungeons simply because my my groups where ranged heavy group, me being the only soldier in the mix. Being a guardian i found it better to run with other soldiers ( Warriors and Guardians). It makes melee and dungeons not painful at all. Warriors and guardians tend to stay inside the extra large extra long lasting symbol of protection. Not only could I stand in fight bosses a lot longer and easier very few people die and in PvE standpoint warriors are guardians work amazing together. Two of the best groups i have run with are 4 Guardians 1 Warrior or 4 Warriors 1 Guardian. Heck Even 3 Warriors 1 Guardian 1 Elementalist. i was just upset at the constant dieing due to constant boss chasing because i couldn’t hide in my symbol of protection =P

I am just curious about why is it that it seems that must kite all bosses and use your ranged weapons to beat them. in most cases if you choose to go melee you can get off maybe 1 or 3 swings before you have dodge because the boss just started whirling and you just lost half your health. Or, you have try and chase it down because everyone else is using their viable ranged options. If i happen to gain the bosses attention i have to run because the boss does 4k damage normally and i have to save my dodges for the 8k damage hits. It just seems like those who prefer to get up close and personal get screwed more often than not in both PvE and PvP.

Also our signets give no numerical values what so ever. Warriors signets say how much power they get. I just wish mine did too. Also when I get the Grandmaster signet booster. Does signet of reslove heal 2 conditions every ten seconds or 1 every 5 or 8? Please really like to have some numerical values placed on our signets. I would like tool tips to just state how much gain by ultilizing the signets.

I do agree with you we need something to boost our base run speed. Rather have something like the warriors where we just run faster for holding a weapon.

Hammer- Is fine IMO. I rather keep the long swing on the 3rd attack and just speed up attacks one and two. The Leap is fine, the fact that 4 or 5 sec CD on a blast finisher is pretty wicked. Zealots Embrace is fine. Its Ring of Warding needs to be fixed. First when you use hammer two you gain Retalition. So the tool tip needs to say it is a combo field. Second Banish forces people out of our ring when it used to make them bounce off it, players can dodge out of it which also not cool. Third animation needs to change to hammer two so you don’t stop moving in order to trap your target that is moving.

Tome of Wraith- Needs to be a spirit weapon. First it should cast Might(3stacks), Fury, Retaliation, and swiftness for 10seconds on a 15second CD. Second thing it casts Right after is 6seconds of Quickness on a 15 second CD. third it needs to Cast an AoE Knock Down that knocks people down for 1 second on a 6 second CD. And Finally the Tome constantly pulses either 700 or 1000 Damage ever two seconds. The pulses don’t burn the target but refrshes burns on the target.The Tome should just follow the guardian around and not attack a single target. Also the tome only lasts 14 seconds.

Tome of Courage-Should be changed to Symbol of Courage. The symbol size should be equal to that of mesmer’s time warp. Damage is on par with other symbols or non existant. Lasts for 18 seconds pulse heals for 1000 or 1200 every 2 or 3 seconds. Grants Protection, and Stability while causing either Chill, Cripple, or Weakness.

Renewed Focus- Please just scrap this thing all together. I picked a guardian because on the guildwars2 website they had a guardian quote saying something along the lines of “If you want to get to my friends, you’ll have to go through me first.” I wish we had a elite skill that based on that quote. Not oh watch as i do nothing for 3seconds.

Virtues- F1 and F2 are fine. f3 is find very lack luster. it should be more inline with the others and offer constant buff not one that gives ageis once every forty seconds. Virtue of Courage should give you 5% or 7% damage reduction and when you trigger it should give you 10 or 15 seconds of protection to you and your friends. then you change the virtue trait to grant aegis instead of protection.

When boss gain defiant buff does it do more than just make them immune to crowd control? Because it seems like it increases their damage a fair bit.

I agree with every one on the 3rd swing of the chain skill. Its a little slow 1/2 a second or maaaaaybe a full second off of it would make it so much better. Also Skill four the knock back i dislike because its the hammer you really cant pvp with it out in the open unless you trying to knock someone away or off a wall. I would rather it be a knock down than knock back. and Ring of warding’s cast time is to slow.

I was wondering if Arena net could add a new weapon rune that would cripple the target for 3 seconds with 60% chance on critical? I know there is the one that causes chilling but its 30% chance and when people are constantly running away and what seems perma-evading (I know its not its a thief skill + short bow skill + two dodges) it becomes very unreliable to pin some classes when they run away. As a guardian I have one trait that every 45secs on a 50% chance on critical with my hammer i can chill the target for 3 seconds its not really that great. With the hammer if i use it i get 1 3 second immobilze every 15 seconds that easily dodged The one on the scepter works better but after that 3 seconds is up they are able to run away gain away. Also Ring of Warding it SEEMS like people escape from it by dodging? Just SEEMS that way. Or my hammer knock back SEEMS to knock them free of it also. A Cripple Rune would be nice only to make a little less of a pain to keep on top of people.

Norn males will at some point durrning the attack animations throw their greatsword over their head and chop downwards with ONE HAND… wish we where the same =(

I kid you not i was cruzing around near HoW and a Queggan was crying for help. I stopped what i was doing because it sounded too heartbreaking to ignore. When other NPCs cry for help i simply say to myself “Eh your a Char im sure you can handle it.”

My suggested Changes for Greatsword and Scepter skills are as follows.

Scepter Skill #1: would like to see it be a combo move. 1st attack being normal ball attack yet faster. 2nd attack would look like a pair of bolas doing x2 damage of the 1st attack. 3rd attack would be a beam or chain graphic that would cripple the target for 2 or 3 seconds.

Greatsword Skill #2: If possible to change the animation? I dislike being rooted by stabbing the ground. i suggest smite condition graphic and droping the symbol at our feet?

Also if we do get a long bow:

Skill #1: Damage
Skill #2: Aoe blind + Damage
Skill #3: Cripple + Damage
Skill #4: Knock Down + Damage
Skill #5: Multiple Arrows simalar to the magic arrows from the original fable game.

i find wolf form useful because of the heals fear knock downs and knock back i just wish i could run and attack and have skill 1 be auto attack like normal.

Im not sure why people are complaining about warrior health pools. in PvP i love getting a warrior 1v1 or hell two warriors at once. They think they can stand toe to toe with a guardian and win. That simply isn’t the case. Ethier that or all the warriors i fight don’t invest in toughness. I run a 20 Zeal (Fiery wrath & greatsword damage) 25 Radiance (signet mastery & searing flames) 20 Valor (Mediation Cooldown -20% & every 10 seconds loose a condition) and 5 in virtues. my pvp gear is 6 Runes of the Forge and one rune of Divinity. i have Runes of Earth slotted in my Greatsword and my Scepter with a +5 to crit rune in my torch. and Earth Runes in my Trident and Spear. i have Knights Amulet Slotted with a Berzerker’s gem. I sit at 19235 health. I use the healing signet, the damage reduction signet, CoP, Jugement’s Intervention, and tome of Curage (only because their is no better opition the other two elite skills are sub par imo) Warriors health pools are not the issue. Nor is it their damage. Play with your gear. Find out what play style works best for you. And pay attention. i just wish we ran faster holding a weapon…..

No "real" ranged weapon for Guardians

Hello. I am Guardian. In PvP I use a Greatsword and Scepter Torch combo. Why? Because, Theives, Rangers, Elementalists, and Engineers all run away. They really don’t want to bang, because they not designed to do so. Out of all our weapons we have two that immobolize the target and one that doesnt require to be in melee range. Along with a true range weapon i would like to be able to cripple my target with it. I would really like it if we got a ranged weapon outside of the scepter i would like to see it have one ability that crippled the target for 5 or 6 seconds on a 10 second cool down and maybe another skill like skill number five could knock them down or pin them with an arrow? So i could catch them and finish them with my Greatsword. For i belive if guardians did get a long ranged weapon it should be based more on controlling our target and forcing them to fight us up close and personal, just the way we like it.
