Huh, well, that’s actually pretty cool.
Well, OP, looks like one Eternity can at least get you both Sunrise and Twilight on both accounts, but Eternity only on one account. Still better than I would’ve thought – just make Eternity on the account you don’t want to keep it on, if you go that route.
Torqise – you should have an invite now!
Hey Illuzion! I’m away from my computer at the moment, but if no one sends an invite your way, I’ll take care of that later on today.
As for things you can do, I think I saw a thread started by you on it, so you’ve probably already heard this already; if you have any interest in fighting other players, you have PvP, which sets all the gear people have at the same level, and you have nearly every option that any other player would – the more recent additions, last I checked, have to be bought with gold, but I don’t believe most people use them anyway. There’s also WvW, for more massive combat (though you still have roamers that run solo or in small groups), where the gear you have carries over.
There’s also dungeons you can play through – I’d add more, but I really need to get going now. Hope to see you in Tyria!
Elyssa, you should have an invite now! Feel free to jump into guild chat if you’d like!
Mecha – At this point, the majority of our players are on NA, which is also where our guild missions take place. Those we still have who are on EU, I have not seen much of late, though that could also be due to time zone differences. You would only be able to interact with most of us through guild chat, though you could still get advice or provide it through that.
That being said, I will still send an invite, which you should have in a few minutes, in case you would still like one. If you would rather move on to another guild focused on the EU side, that is perfectly understandable. There is a Looking For… section of the forums that you might find helpful in a search for a more casual EU guild:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/lookingfor
And if you decide to look strictly at that, I wish you luck.
For those who are on NA, we still do guild missions weekly on fridays – so tomorrow at 11:30 pm EST – open invite, all are welcome to come.
If you’re having that much trouble, try going to another racial starting zone – each starting city has a portal (purple swirly icon) to Lion’s Arch, which is a hub – you can find another portal, or asura gate, to each other city. If you go into the starting zones by those cities, you’ll be able to gain experience more easily – you don’t really get punished on your exp by playing in a low level zone.
It’s based on the level of the profession that you’re changing to. If you’re changing to a profession you haven’t done before, it’ll be free, but it goes up to (I think) 50 silver for the disciplines at 500, 40 silver for the ones that go up to 400. Last I checked anyway – back when all of them maxed at 400.
I just have 4 characters that each have 2 professions, no swapping of those needed. I just change to the character I need, anything I’d need to make is account bound at worst anyway.
Yeah, sadly the actual coins are merely gold coated deldrimor steel. It’s very difficult for our crafters to reproduce.
Actually, if you started the event – as in, you have the collection available, you should still be able to finish it. I’ve seen a few people finish it after the event was over, and helped one out with getting some of the chests.
If you don’t have the collection available, then no.

Might have something to do with people logging on to start with the exp buff, as a friend just mentioned as we both got kicked out. Couple tries and we still can’t.
If you go to a crafting station, the bottom tab is the wardrobe – going to it this way lets you see every skin (other than outfits) you could get – though some of them won’t be feasible for you to get at this point in the game. You can preview even the skins you don’t have, and then check the wiki (use ‘/wiki <skin name>’ in the chat window) to see where you can get it.
Some of the best appearances people come up with are when they mix and match armor pieces from different sets, and then use dyes effectively.
You can do that with weapons too, but you’ll probably want to see what the difference between having the weapon stowed and wielded is. Some weapons will change depending on that, like Cobalt, a greatsword that appears to be on fire when you wield it.
I’m not sure that’s true on the leveling characters. I had a warrior that was below level 40, but once I had him at 80 he already had all the traits unlocked normally (with, of course, an exception on the 5 new ones). If that’s changed more recently (I finally got him leveled September 2014, I think), then I wouldn’t know.
EDIT: Or if you meant they had to get to level 11 first – I guess I could see that causing an issue, just don’t know.
Also, if no characters on the account have gotten above those levels, they won’t be able to use the hotkeys – a new player streaming the game found that out when I tried to direct him to the hotkeys. I don’t know about the portals in LA though, those might still work.
Oh yeah – with the Megaserver, you don’t need to guest to other servers. Every server (split only between the NA and EU regions) will be able to join other servers in maps without having to go through that process – so if you’re NA, you’ll find people from other NA servers in just about any map you go to.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/New_Player_Experience#New_Player_Experience has some information for this as well – I don’t know some of the things at lower levels as well since the changes.
The map completion window that you remember should show up again, but I don’t remember the level, and I’m missing it in the wiki.
The dailies have changed, but there are four for each mode – regular PvE, PvP, and WvW. You can see them all on your achievement tab on the hero panel, but they should show on the top right if you haven’t already achieved three of them. The PvE dailies are a bit more… strict now about where you have to go to get them, but they do exist.
PvP and WvW icons are unlocked once you have a character at a certain level, 18 and 22 by the wiki. Last I checked, you could use the portals in Lions Arch or hotkeys to get there early anyway, and I think you only needed one character at that level for it to be open on your entire account, but I could be wrong there.
Now, I would keep your characters unless you REALLY want to remake them. They’re grandfathered into the old trait system, other than 5 traits that were added more recently. It used to be that you bought manuals from your trainer to unlock different trait tiers, but you automatically had each trait. Now, the tiers unlock automatically at levels 30, 60, and 80 (as opposed to being able to open them at 11, 40, and 60), but you don’t have any of the major traits – you have to either buy them with gold and skill points, or do something to unlock them. Each trait will have a telescope icon until you unlock it that tells you what you can do to gain it. This saves a lot of work if you hold onto your old characters – the level they are doesn’t matter (other than for unlocking the tier), just that they were created before the change.
The personal story was also changed. Now you unlock it in blocks at certain levels. So, if you do your story and find that you can’t access the next part, just level up some more and it’ll open up again. I know the first block opens at level 10, and it looks like the other blocks open up every 10 levels.
Really, the only thing that would hold you back are the gifts of exploration. Each character can get two of them for map completion, and you need one for a legendary.
Yes, you can equip two legendaries at once – there’s even a title you can get for crafting the same legendary twice. I wouldn’t do that myself, since you can just use the skin again if you want, say, two Incinerators equipped, and it takes a lot of resources to make it. I’d just make a different legendary.
It’s actually open right now on a map I’m on – not sure for how long, though.
It will be the griffon – someone mentioned less than a week ago that a friend had a heart attack because they thought they were getting attacked by one, and only the sender had a mail griffon selected.
EDIT: Actually, was a day or so ago. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/Mail-Delivery/first#post4686474

Uh… don’t forget about megaservers. All you need to know is if anyone in your region still clears them. I know they still get cleared, but other than the above post for SBI, I don’t know about any specific times.
No, sorry, it isn’t. You can change anything with the appearance using gems, but something like race goes into the personal story. It’s unlikely that that will change so far as I am aware.
First bump of the new year!
Don’t forget that you can convert your T5 mats into T6. I believe it was 1 T6 mat, 50 T5 mats, 5 crystalline dust, and 5 philosopher’s stones into the MF. If you’re not using them for anything more important than Sunrise, they can definitely help speed the process.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ancient_Bone for one of them, and the others follow the same pattern.
Also, on the ectos, since you can get those easily by doing world bosses, don’t forget that you can salvage ectos now for crystalline dust as well. That was really handy for Bifrost, since it takes 3 stacks of crystalline dust.

I’m having the same issue. A couple days ago, it started in Silverwastes, and several times I had to just stop because I couldn’t do anything there – not even leave. Yesterday it also started in the Silverwastes. As of now, the character I had there usually doesn’t get past the loading screen, and when I get past that, a moment later I start to dc. I managed to at least get to HotM, but I can’t get to the portal back to LA from there.
Jumping onto my other characters who haven’t been to the Silverwastes, I can usually play for a bit longer, about 10 minutes at best.
EDIT: I think it may have something to do with a windows update… I used system restore to a point two days ago, and so far the game’s working fine. Been in WvW for 30 minutes, zerg v zerg combat, and no problems.

You’ll also find a few small changes here and there – for example, the dagger auto chain now cleaves on necro. For the most part, the traits themselves haven’t been changed much – just little changes (only one that comes to mind is the new mesmer trait in illusions doing more with torment), but I can’t think of any that were on engi or necro off the top of my head.
This has fallen quite a bit – if anyone wants to join on missions coming up on friday, it may be better to simply whisper an officer before they start, considering the influx of players into the Durmond Priory for the Living Story.
Pull this up again for now.
You could also go with something like Cleric’s for some of the Ele or Guard options.
Also, if you’re on NA, the guild I’m in runs guild missions on Fridays at 8:30 pm PST (I think that’s also server time?), in addition to Sundays at 11:30 am PST with another guild. So there’s another possibility. We don’t have a problem taking people in on those either.

Bumpity Bump Bump.
What region do you play on? I see dwayna capture events going from time to time, so if I see one and you’re on NA, I can try messaging you.
One of the only benefits I can think of that hasn’t been mentioned is it can get you some more achievement points, which really only matter for achievement chests. Don’t think you get any until you hit at least 400 in a crafting discipline though, and more at 500 (which can take a bit) for everything but jeweler and cook, which still max at 400.
I thought I remembered something in the options, but I’m not seeing it now. Best thing I can do is either second Danikat’s suggestion, or possibly to ask in chat if you’re still not sure about whatever feature it is.
Just sent an invite to you! Don’t worry about being new for dungeons either – there are several people who have run them, and we don’t mind working with players who are new to them.
Invite has been sent, welcome Furesy!
I believe ’tis time for a bump.
A guildee linked this for me – haven’t used it myself just yet, but it shows not only when CoF/CoE are open, it shows when any temple is open, on NA and EU servers. It uses the API, so it should be correct.

Just saw it’s already been posted in this section on it’s own thread.

Sadly only had 4 people – and 2 pulled enemies to the npc.
EDIT: There’s another attempt underway now though.
EDIT 2: and failed on the last event.
EDIT 3: Trying in 5-10 mins on TC.
EDIT 4: Failed – close though.

Grenth escort is about to start again on Jade Quarry.
Jade Quarry is now open (just opened).
Tarnished Coast had it open about 20 minutes ago, not sure how long it’s been open.
Um… https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/free-transfers-to-medium-populations-worlds/?utm_source=client
Yeah… about that
EDIT: Well, now I’m reading that people still have to pay gems to transfer to such servers as sorrow’s furnace. If so, ignore the above.

Just be sure to account for NA or EU servers.
Well… actually… I did read it all before I posted… I tend to do that even if I’m posting to a thread that has 5000 posts (which I have, on other forums).
Welcome to everyone who’s joined since I last posted here, which was probably my own request for admission. This is a good group of people, and I’ve seen that at just about every moment I’ve been with them. We have some rather interesting conversations in guild chat too sometimes.
Also, Ferguson’s Crossing as an active server!? I’m a little surprised and impressed to see that opinion, as we’ve got 4 people, I think, who have been on in the last few days, with hopefully another joining shortly.
If anyone on FC wants to check out WvW, feel free to get with either me or Ghost for help you may need, as you can’t exactly work with the other members there.
Yeah, it isn’t the easiest to find. But at least now you know.
Yes, WvW is part of that. However, you may want to take another look at your monthly now that February’s hit.
Did you click on decline in the guild panel, or are you just closing out of the invite notice? If I remember correctly, the invite will appear every time you log in until you actually hit decline.
That’s strange as I’ve never played GW1 or owned it, and the stone was available for me last I checked (I’ve used the stone, but the place was rather boring without much added). I think it was in a different tab at the vendor though.
I like the idea of player catapults, but give them a tonic to turn them into a dolyak or something first.
Hey, @Death Reincarnated,
A character name I saw reminded me of something. Did you, by any chance, run through TA story last… sunday, I think, with a mesmer that joined partway through?
@Glitch
New to the group and haven’t talked to you, but thanks for your role in starting this. I’ve enjoyed chatting with the people I’ve run into so far.
The only thing that really annoys me is when someone waves/bows in there, receives one back, and then attacks anyway, which usually seems to happen as soon as they get one or two more people – these same people then wave again as soon as they’ve lost the advantage, at which point I now attack anyway (assuming that they had personally done that).
I realize that it makes sense, from one important view, to do this, and I’m not trying to change that (as if I’d succeed anyway). It still annoys me though, and it’s happened enough with one of the other servers that I’m close to just attacking them regardless.
The only difference between the servers is the community. I believe Tarnished Coast is known for having roleplayers, and others may be known for having more of a focus on pvp (say, world vs world, where 3 servers compete trying to capture and hold objectives) rather than pve (player vs environment, some of the cooperative play), but the world in which you play won’t change based on the server.
You get five character slots with the option to purchase more (can spend cash on gems to purchase, or spend time to acquire enough gold ingame to trade for gems), and those characters persist if you change servers. Changing servers will not give you access to unused slots, your characters follow and keep everything.
As for starting zones, the server you choose has nothing to do with that – only your race, and for other differences, some of the choices you make on character creation. A human created the same way on Eredon Terrace and Ferguson’s Crossing will start in the same area with the same story (or rather, same choices as you go through the story, choosing the same thing will give the same story), and the same for other races.
The only other difference based on server is in the pvp; that world vs world feature has a battlefield where each server holds a different corner of the region. That’s probably a very minor point at this time though.
Also, upcoming changes (unless I’m mistaken) mean that free server transfers, which have been once a week, will no longer be free on the 28th. I don’t know if you can change servers free within the first week of choosing one though.
