My Sylvari mesmer, I’m still working on getting her the Orrian shoulders but I’m finally content with her look, a guildie told me she resembled a fortune teller >.>
- Headpiece: Champion.
- Shoulders: Invaders.
- Chestpiece: Champion.

The dyes are: Abyss, white and ocean. I can never settle on a colour scheme it goes between blues/whites/blacks and purples/golds.

On our more active days teamspeak will be open and everyone is actively encouraged to join it. Given that we’ve lost most of our larger wvw guilds we’ve got smaller ones running the show. Most if not all love to attack rather than defend. Though I’m probably not the best person to talk about SoS – I’ve been on the server for only a few months; I transferred due to learning of their strong oceanic presence, but I can tell you I haven’t looked back.
And Foostivoo? He’s just my mini – a tiny baby quaggan with a Santa hat, but he tears up the battle-field

I saw a MERC tag in EB earlier – it kinda made me sad.

I’ve noticed ever since we’ve dropped a few tiers Sea of Sorrows has managed to lighten up… a lot, less hair pulling in the chat and everything. The chat is active and can be silly, especially if you’ve got guilds like FLUF running around, but if you want a really friendly atmosphere I’d recommend Tarnished Coast, even Maguuma.
But Sea of Sorrows does have Foostivoo Destroyer of Worlds, sooo….

10/10. If only because I don’t know how that got through the filter.

The only time movement speed has been an issue for me is when someone runs from a fight, more often than not I forfeit the badges they would give me because I know it’s not worth it, keeping up with zergs though, roaming solo, and going from point a to b in pve maps has never given me much trouble. It’s only when mesmers go up against other classes that we pale, still though with all our stealth escaping isn’t too hard.

Lt Mc Muffin, not very mystical but amusing nonetheless. I meant it as a reference to a scene in Red Vs Blue where Caboose forgets Donuts name and cries ‘Lieutenant McMuffin!’ But I’m not sure if I got the quote right, still though I laughed every time during a tense dialogue with an NPC and then along comes muffin.

Not sure about TSYM but I certainly see Fate, Fluf and Leet still going, thanks guys for sticking with us. This gap has even allowed new Commanders to have a go instead of running around LA
And to that Yaks Bend BV Mesmer always camping the jp you are one stubborn thorn in my side.

At this moment SoS is running around EB capping everything with a zerg of 40 maybe? DB is done, YB has 2 (read: “two”) defenders. Competition at it’s finest. Normally we’d have more at this time even on a Sunday night, but nobody wants to play against this. I can’t believe that this setup is fun for anybody, including the mighty night zerg which has nobody to fight besides guards.
It did lull me into something of a trance running in that zerg but players can’t help it if playing at this time is convenient for them, stupid system… though I do remember we had fun with Bravost, DB clung to that and wouldn’t let go. 2 trebs, 5+ catas later we finally broke that wall…

I’m glad TC are showing up, you know, if they’re not having a back and forth between FA because it makes me feel a little left out… I’ve considered (sometimes) transferring to TC if only because you guys seem to have a great community, also why I’ve been interested in Maguuma but I’d feel like I’m cheating on SoS <3
To be on topic though, I luckily avoided nearly all q’s (save for SoSBL) and was hopping back and forth to try and find out what our new opponents are like. FA, you guys are stubborn as hell, no matter how far I ran or nearly escaped you would not stop chasing me.
And Kaineng, I look forward to seeing more of you, unfortunately I wasn’t on for long. Though I have to say the switch from red to green is disconcerting, running joyously towards SM believing it a much needed escape only to confusedly head-butt the wall made me laugh pretty hard.

Ahh it’s a pity I have to get up early tomorrow I wanted to be with my server in this time of awesomeness. Also I was having a great game of cat and mouse with a JQ invader in – well ok I actually forgot the BL I was there for so long, but still!
Sorry I had to leave so abruptly I wanted to keep our fight going – and to that SoR guardian; you are one tough kitten, I was eventually going to stop trying to fight you and just run around the map and see who’d be able to actually take a fraction of your health down. Very good fights from both servers, I hope they continue

That’s without checking though, I guess if I booted up the game and checked… 3… maybe?

Just wanted to pop in here before I faithfully face-plant onto my bed; thank you to whoever that SoR thief was on SM outerwalls I had a blast fighting you! It was nice to just have a 1v1 before everyone else saw what a good time we were having and decided to join in the fray. Probably because they were busy securing SM at the time… still, good fight and I thank you stranger

I tend to have a powerful hatred for anything that involves pvp… generally because yeah, I’m pretty poor at it. So I was pretty afraid of mmo’s in general because it’s nothing but other players be it alongside or against.
My first venture into wvw was a blast because I’m a sucker for strategy. I loved how the Commanders divvied up the duties amongst classes and would utilize terrain. I was practically giddy when someone first screamed “CHARGE” into the chat and ran headlong into an enemy zerg.
I play a mesmer and discovered that I’m actually quite good at surviving and making sure others do as well, while I don’t deal heavy damage it’s nice to think I’m actually helping. The community makes it a lot of fun too!

Branded… because, well, they’re sort of pretty in a way. And shiny.

Dinosaurs? Dinosaurs?
I really regret missing out on the first Guild Wars. I love dinosaurs. They’re like huge lizards that make funny squawky noises with tiny little arms and I just want to cuddle them and love them and put them in little bonnets… uhhh, should probably sleep soon.

Due to the lack of anything resembling even a mediocre internet connection right now I haven’t bothered starting up Guild Wars in the fear my laptop will protest and spontaneously burst into flame.
Having said that; I’m liking the spirit that SoR have brought the forums at least, less squabbling all around. Always a good thing! Can’t wait to see you guys on the battlefield and see how that enthusiasm translates. Foostivoo can’t wait.

Fairly generic but given I’m new to wvw I laughed pretty hard;
1) Running along in a zerg staring at my BL map and exited just in time to watch the Commander make a tactical dive off a cliff. Naturally the zerg followed, some were lucky enough to hit a ledge. Others face-planted. The best part was seeing three invaders in the distance /laugh then run before everyone revived.
2) Fighting for a keep in a BL map, being knocked onto a ledge that’s sole purpose to exist was to frustrate people on it as the jump to clear it was just a little bit too high, so the only way down was to jump or wp. I decided to wait out the battle and help as much as I could. Then an invader wielding Twilight (I think) jumps down to kill me, naturally I panic, as I’m fairly rubbish at pvp and slammed my keyboard. I’m a mesmer wielding a GS and was lucky enough to hit 5.

While I have nothing but respect for JQ and BG (seriously, I love you guys… please stop murdering me so quickly) can we all play a little nicer? I’ve only just gotten back from a few busy days so what happened to that other thread I don’t know but coming into this one and antagonizing other servers is probably not the way to go.
Actually, in my completely worthless opinion, it wouldn’t be a bad thing to drop to T2 for a bit. I occasionally visit threads for those and they seem to be having a good time and don’t pull each others hair nearly as much. What about this week has gotten everyone so riled up?

Nothing is more meaningless in GW2 than winning in WvW.
The day that WvW stops being fun is the day you’ll stop playing the game. I would lose every week if it meant having epic battles. Those are the real experiences.
Before you argue that epic battles are the result of people’s desire to win; think again.
Some though do equate fun with winning. They enjoy it and all the perks (perks being used pretty much subjectively) that comes with it. That’s their choice, though I agree with you that as long as the battles are fun I don’t mind where SoS is.

When playing any game that styles itself in the fantasy genre I can generally go into it knowing I’m going to be ashamed of humans. So; always.

The first time I saw Twilight it was still a pretty rare sight and I spent a good ten minutes rotating my camera around and took a few screenshots. Same with Sunrise, though it does seem a tiny bit less common than Twilight. Bifrost I don’t see much but The Dreamer and Kudzu once or twice. Twilight and Sunrise I’ve been desensitized too however, but they are among the best looking weapons and it helps there are 2 alternatives for people.
What I want to see is an Eternity, then, I will be very very impressed.

And to answer the original question, in a race vs race war Sylvari would probably win. Simply because they can have an endless supply of fully trained warriors who are curious about the concept of death instead of afraid of it. They would wear anything down over time, even Norn or Charr.
The issue with the sylvari is they have a single point of failure – the Pale Tree. If you destroyed Divinity’s Reach or the Black Citadel, it would be a heavy blow, but the races would probably be able to recover. If you destroyed Hoelbrak, it would be even less of an impact.
But if you destroy the Grove? The sylvari are done. That’s it.
While I’m no lore junkie (but I’m trying) I do remember something from my Sylvari’s storyline and that is the existence of others that aren’t from the Pale Tree at all, so there could be more of them out there, but if it’s a war involving only the Sylvari we know specifically of, and the Pale Tree was destroyed? Then yeah, they’d be screwed.

Happy Australia day
Once all the celebrating and what-not is done I may jump back into EBG tonight, I’ll be the sylvari running around in aimless circles with Foostivoo. Have a good one you lot and play nice.

I really want to see RG in action for myself, the way everyone speaks so highly of them has me intrigued, but then again… I’d really prefer not to, you know, opposing server and all.

I really don’t know what’s so hard about this. Maybe we need a bulleted list:
- We don’t like you.
- We will never like you.
- We would rather build 46 flame rams to guard SE supply on our own BL than zergball with you.
- We laugh at defeat.
- We are bored by steamrolls.
- We hate karma.
- We hate XP.
- We hate gold.
- We love repair bills.
- We hate winning.
- We hate you.
If you have any questions, please look into the firey hellmouth of the Great Lord Flame Ram.
That sort of cynical attitude is what attracts me to a server – perhaps try sickly sweetness? Everyone hates that.

I would love that mini quaggan pet. Tough there is no chance I would gamble money to get it. I have more self control than that. BUT IT HAS A HAAAAT!!!!
( slaps self Uh, I’m ok, I’m ok.
This. I saw a player with a mini baby quaggan in the jumping puzzle (gorgeous and wonderfully challenging anet by the way!) and unfortunately spammed the chat with nothing but ‘Awwwwwww’. Must resist urge to gamble on it.

With the way some people are behaving though you’d think their entire life has hinged on this Wintersday event. Save the melodrama for the jumping puzzle which will inevitably frustrate us all!

The number of threads with complaints does outnumber the ones actually grateful, I don’t mind the waiting too much. It’s actually refreshing to play a game where they deliver such large amounts of free stuff. Yay Anet!
