What do you call a fire elementalist charr?
Charrizard!
Bahahaha! Sure hit the spot nice and gooooood!
Last night I was trying to do a little dynamic event in the Straits of Devastation. Every five seconds or so I would be forced to fight solo a group of 5-6 undead due to the ridiculous respawn time. Enemies would poof into existence in front of me and immediately attack me.
Sounds familiar! XD

Post a picture of yourself then ^^ :-P
This is totally irrelevant but I think many of the human male faces looks a little south european (no rascism). Anyone else thought of that?
Exactly!
Like I said in another post:
“It’s their proportions that are off, not that they are skinny. Even the “fat” looking one are out of proportion… Both the human male and the female body looks weird. I don’t find it good looking at all.
The head is too small, the legs too long, too thin shoulder width (on the girls) etc. They have proportions of a person who’s 2 meters (6ft 7 inch) plus. And when you adjust height, the body just shrink in scale, not in a natural way (like just the legs, neck and torso getting shorter). A 5ft 7 person doesn’t have the same proportions like a 6ft 3 guy, but in GW2 they have.
I get that it’s hard to adjust it that way so I guess there isn’t much purpose complaining about it. But I wish they could change the proportions a little."
Yes, that makes sense. Good points!
But I did not meant for them to be around the human size, just that they could be a little smaller then what they are right now. Humans look very weak compared to the charr.
I have not played GW1 however, so I guess I don’t get the history behind it.
Did Anet have to make them so big compared to humans? It’s hard to understand humans being an actual threat to charr physically. Same goes with norns and humans…
Both norns and charr are a little too big compared to the other races imo.

Good idea! Can’t come up with anything negative about it at the moment…!
I have said it once, I’ll say it again. What the game shows is normal. Everyone nowadays is just fat. There is supposedly a lot of pressure on modern women to be skinny. Clearly there is not enough pressure, because in the United States, the majority of women (and men for that matter) are overweight. There is a massive difference between slender women and women who are genuinely unhealthy. Tbh though, I am also a little drunk. the morning will tell more.

I have no problem with another NPC being the main character of the personal story but Trahearne is so kitten boring and unmotivated. No charismatics at all. Don’t remember much what he said though…probably because I did not listen because of the bad voice acting.
I agree and that’s the main reason I don’t want to play as a charr. They look so stupid wearing human armour.
Oglaf: Is that really the first rule of a game? :P
Yes, the female bodies have weird proportions all over. Too slender, too long legs, small head, thin upper body and just simply weird looking (like a Barbie-doll). Why isn’t there a more natural proportioned look. They all have like volleyball/basketball player proportions. The human males could also use some improvement too but not to the same degree (they also have too long legs).
I get they are supposed to be beautiful but they look more weird then beautiful. But I guess it’s an armour thing…
No, Trahearne’s voice actor is not motivated at all.
Phantax: I am not impatient or foolish. But I rather see the mobs harder to kill only if they would respawn slower.
I want the game to be a little harder tbh… but that doesn’t mean I like getting the previous mob respawning in my kitten when I have defeated another one and are about to heal up. That is both annoying as hell and unfair…and bad game design! That guy is supposed to be dead and stay dead for a long time or respawn somewhere else because I am trying to clear a path through the area.
I second this post. The respawn in this game is terrible. It destroys immersion, it destroys any sense of progress. You basically have a small bubble (about like the old GW1 aggro bubble) where you’ve either murdered everything or have died, and that’s about it. In some cases, if you’re not the right class in the right position with the right build, you can’t even kill them before things you just killed will respawn.
Respawn was a mechanism to get around a flaw in multiplayer shared-experience games where someone had already killed the monster you should head to kill. I’m not sure why you think it’s a good idea.
I don’t see how this is any better than how GW1 was. You create an instance balanced around a fixed # of creatures. Here you balanced an area around a fixed respawn around a fixed difficulty curve. As far as I’m concerned, this is terrible game design. How many games before this sold well and were from 8-8 players? No, They’re “From 1-5” or “2-8” or whatever.
If you have a bunch of people in the area, actively engaging monsters, then speed up respawn. If you don’t, I should actively have to do something or wait around to experience the same creature again. Not wait 30 seconds. Which is what it is in many places.
Bingo and yatzy! This is exactly what I mean. You can’t even turn your back for 2 secs because you are afraid of some mob jumping on you.
Some lv 80 areas around the Orr is just nuts.
“Slowing down the respawn rate is a terrible idea, especially for hearts that require a certain number of kills, etc.”
But some respawns are way too quick. I defeat one mob and the previous mob pops up right beside me.
“Nowhere is impossible to get to, and you will find most guilds are more than happy to do a ‘tour’ of the higher level areas to get you all the areas of a map.”
Yeah, but that’s cheating :P I want to do everything by myself.
Haha, great points!
That could work, yes. As long as you are not standing infront of the respawn hub…and what will happen when the mob are on it’s way to the spot “where it is supposed to be”? Will it be immune?
Yes, I agree. The humans have weird proportions in general. Like someone said, the heads too small, too long legs, too short feet….and somewhat babyfaced aswell. But I agree, the feet are the main issue to fix.
I agree. Some areas are almost impossible to get to if you play alone because of all the respawns!
Good idea! I have also asked myself why there isn’t any harder challenges for solo playing.
Yes, that too. In GW2, it’s harder to gain a lvl around lv 10-20 then around lv 60-80. That seems kinda off…
Making it harder to level would make getting to lv 80 actually feel like an achivement. If everyone would get to lv 80 in an hour (not like anyone would be silly enough to change it to that) is like giving the grade A to all students, no matter the testresult.
Might aswell have just pass or fail grades then…or just pass.
OK, maybe I used the wrong words. But I think leveling is too easy right now. Making a little harder wouldn’t hurt. As the thread maker said, getting special weapons before lv 80 is a waste of money since you have outleveled them in a few hours (no matter how often you play the game).
I agree with alot of things the thread maker writes especially that leveling is way too easy. What’s the point rushing through the game content? Getting to lv 80 should be a challenge!
And I also think normal quests are a little too easy. Less and harder enemies would be nice and perhaps would make the game feel less grindy in my opinion.
(It would be nice if you wrote shorter posts though. It takes alot of me to want to read through everything… :P)
