I absolutely loved the conversations in the LA instance, especially when some scholar recapitulated everything that has happened so far. For the very first time in the living story I now really want to find out about Scarlet’s motives and chase that lunatic (if she really is??) further.
Gameplay-wise I have only tried the marionette encounter yet which I thought was quite ok. Not a big fan of lag festivals though :-(
Ay Caramba!
The patch is fine. People complain about everything. I’ve been here since launch. I’m glad to see there’s someone else who still plays this game for it’s intended purpose. Namely, fun.
Oh dear god the stupid is strong with me today. Just a massive brainfart. Nothing to see here, move along.
Thank you =)
Hahaha xD Don’t feel bad! When I read your post I was thinking to myself, “Hmm, what’s up with that?” Then I read the next post.
I didn’t come to play Guildwars 2 until last summer so I’m newer then many. The reason I came was because of the quality of the combat system and yet more casual play. One of the things touted by Anet was there was not going to be a gear grind.
I played the world’s biggest MMO and as we all know its a gear grind every major patch and each expansion. I didn’t mind the gear grind, in fact I enjoyed seeing how far I could go with my gear.
There is a major gear grind here in that yes there is less levels of gear, BUT it takes longer to acquire each piece. Between all the methods of gear acquisition I sometimes averaged a new piece of gear a day in the other MMO, in fact I reached top 5 gear score several times during my stint in that game. Not because I’m an ultra skilled raider, but I was skilled in finding out what gear I needed and how to get it.
Here in Guildwars 2, all but a few of my items were from crafting and to a lesser extent laurels. Like that other MMO I’m one of the better equipped, but really its a matter of grinding out the materials.
I dislike the RNG setup, because so many of the nice rewards are useless to me as a player. I go months between any loot that is useful as far as gear goes. I wish I could give all the ascended gear that isn’t useful away to friends or something. Or just don’t give it to me at all.
Oh wow an ascended chest! Oh crap its just locker bait AGAIN….
Thanks for the status update
I’m kidding, you have a positively interesting perspective on this. If you don’t mind my asking, what is it, however, that you are trying to raise awareness about with this thread?
I don’t know if everyone feels the same way I do about gw2 right now. For me, gw2 has become a ball of mess to the point that its become a little ridiculous:
EASY ways to make money: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHdeAaYz8gM
EASY dungeons: dungeons generally have become heavy zerkers only environment where everyones using the stacking “exploits”.
EASY pvp: AI minion builds (spirit ranger, minion mancer, pu mesmer) have become the new meta and the arenas littered with AI builds. There are also a few other OP builds that doesnt require AIs…
EASY wvw: Doesn’t matter how good your server is, more players + more coverage = win. Also, bring heavies only.
As for the open world pve, I get the idea of end-game ascended gear forcing players to go back to lower level zones for dragonite ores, but its turned into a waiting game: checking http://us.gw2stuff.com/ for world boss timers. The process of getting end-game gear is no longer fun, its become a time-gated waiting game; waiting for daily laurels, waiting for daily mats.
I understand that the devs are trying to fix some of these things right now (such as bringing down the zerker meta https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/balance/PvE-Revising-the-DPS-Meta), but there have been some bad ideas that somehow managed to make its way into the game. Though, the game is still young and theres still time to fix a lot of loopholes and balance issues.
HOWEVER, if I could describe this game with one word at the moment, it would be frustrating.
As a rule of thumb, I always try to decide what my solution would be to a problem before I bring up a complaint, or issue. So, out of curiosity, what is it that you are looking for in this game? And why is it that this game hasn’t satisfied what it is you’re looking for? Just some questions to consider…
Why is rampant speculation allowed in this game? This is something that’s bothered me in every MMO I have played, but it’s most extreme in GW2.
Imagine people bought bread for no other reason than the expectation it will be worth more tomorrow. Buying a loaf of bread would get pretty expensive really quick, would it not? This sort of thing has wrecked real-world economies throughout history. It’s something every modern government works hard to limit and control. But for some reason, MMO’s embrace this behavior without reservation. Why?
To be clear, I’m not talking about profit-seeking. (Farming mats and selling them, for example.) That is a normal, healthy activity which adds real value to a game’s economy. I am talking about flipping items on the TP. It serves no purpose and only raises prices well beyond what a player can hope to farm naturally.
So here is my very simple question: what benefit does speculation offer an MMO? Developers must believe it has some positive aspect, because it is allowed – encouraged, even – in nearly every major MMO ever released.
edit – Why did I post this here and not in the economy section? Because I’m not interested in how speculation affects the game’s economy. I don’t care whether or not it makes the economy healthier.
I’m interested in how it changes the game itself, in general. How it effects players who choose to have a minimal exposure to the economy. If I want ascended gear, how does the materials costing thousands of gold add to the experience? Speculation is directly responsible for this situation, thus I ask what it adds to the game. (If that makes sense.)
If I posted this in the economy section, I would just start a debate over the merits and risks of speculation. That is a worthwhile discussion, but it is not what I’m after. I am curious how a speculation-driven economy improves the game as a whole – from PvP to WvW to PvE.
I don’t mean to be rude, but have you ever taken any economics courses? Or perhaps government? The last thing that speculation does is raise prices.
Imagine a giant foot from the giant puppet finishing of players in pvp and wvw. Would definitely buy it.
Nice idea! I might buy it as well haha.
By the way, epic sig! As an Ele, I can definitely relate.
“Origins of Madness” strongly hints towards the fact that Scarlet is, indeed, bat <beep> crazy.
If that’s the “explanation” to all she’s been doing then lol. Even more Harley Quinn stuff.
Hmm. I suppose it could also mean the beginning of our answers behind the “madness” or crazy events that have happened thus far. In other words, we are going to learn where the origin or motive behind why Scarlet has caused all of these crazy events (madness.) That was how I originally interpreted it, but is guess we’ll find out when the time comes.
I guess they just wanted it to be a bit of a surprise to everyone. I hate to point to myself as an example but I’m going to in this case.
I clicked on the campaign and saw the trailer. So I watched the trailer and it seemed pretty cool. I then realized that there were no details and thought to myself, “Hmm, why are there no details? Oh well. I guess I’ll find out on patch day.” I then dismissed the idea entirely.
I’m not saying we shouldn’t discuss or speculate or anything like that. I’m just saying try and cool it a little fellas. We’ll find out when we find out. Don’t be that kid in the back of the car who keeps saying, “Are we there yet?”
Thanks for posting this thread, and thanks everyone for the feedback! It reassures me that I’m not the only one in this boat. Haha
I know people look at my siggy and say, “Omg this guy is a thief” and start disreguarding anything I say because this thread somehow translates into me complaining about my class being UP. I also understand that there are people who will see my name and think “Oh its the trolling thief forum warrior again.”
You are a thief player giving arguments as to why you think ArenaNet should not nerf your profession.
I’m sorry. I truly am, because I don’t think you have even realized it yourself. But you have taken a very broad subject, that of balance in a game, and reduced it to a very small circunstance, that happens to be exactly the state of thieves in WvW (and a bit in sPvP). Most of what you mentioned, if not all of it, does not apply outside that specific scenario.
Let me give you an example: Assassins in the original Guild Wars. Assassins were the profession introduced by ArenaNet to fit the “rogue” archetype; but the issue is, said archetype is basically the ganker, a role that simply does not work in PvE. As expected, the assassin was a very weak profession in PvE, outperformed in nearly everything by the others.
What did ArenaNet do, then, to fix Assassins? They gave the profession invulnerability – Shadow Form -, something that actually goes 100% against the “rogue” archetype, and that also happened to be incredibly overpowered in PvE. This had a massive number of issues:
- Shadow Form assassins became required when playing a lot of the content in the game with PUGs. For large parts of the PvE content that people actually played with each other, Shadow Form was used as a way to make the game easier, or theorically easier even when the assassin actually made it more time consuming, not less. This greatly reduced variety in groups when playing PvE with other players.
- Assassins who wanted to play in PvE with a build other than Shadow Form were nto accepted. This greatly reduced variety for the assassin players themselves when playing with PUGs.
- The Shadow Form assassin was the most efficient farming tool in many areas of the game, allowing people to make small fortunes by using this. Needless to say, this didn’t exactly help the game’s economy.
- And, ironically, assassins were still completely broken outside of Shadow Form. This is by far the worst issue here – ArenaNet’s single fix to assassins was to give them Shadow Form, instead of trying to fix everything else that was wrong with the profession. This means that everyone not using Shadow Form still had the exact same issues to deal with – finding yourself unable to use a lot of your skills due to them being sequential combos that required hitting the same enemy in order to progress through the chain, for example, only to see that any half decent group of heroes would kill your target before you could use even the second skill in your combo, and the AI was not smart enough to allow you to tell them to go kill an enemy while you dealt with another.
This was, in many ways, a massive imbalance in the original Guild Wars.
What does your post tell us about this situation?
Nothing.
Balancing for 1vs1? This is PvE, 1vs1 is irrelevant. Players should learn counters? This is PvE, the enemy AI won’t suddently learn a counter to Shadow Form nor will it become dumber to deal with any other assassin build. “Cyclical Imbalance”? That’s as relevant to the scenario I described as “banana pie”.
I could give multiple similar examples using the original Guild Wars – Ritualists and Signet of Spirits, Paragons and “There is Nothing to Fear!”, dervishes and their overhaul, Ursan Blessing, and so on. Issues that had significant impact on all players of a given profession through the entire story of the game. And all issues that your post has absolutely nothing to do with.
Everything you said – is about only a very small aspect of balance. It’s only about the specific kind of scenario such as thieves currently are in WvW. It doesn’t cover most of the game, or why balance is required for all of Guild Wars 2.
I’m sorry. Explain yourself. I thought his post was very relevant. You can’t just say it “is about only a very small aspect of balance” and then not back up that statement. His post was literally a “balance 101” kind of post. Let’s hear some evidence because I totally disagree.
In response to the title: I did!
In response to the thread: They wouldn’t make them if people didn’t like them. I’m sorry you don’t like them but that won’t change anything. They are freaking awesome and apparently most people love them. Besides, they make a good amount of money and they’re at least as fun as CoF.
@Cactus
There it is. That’s exactly what I was looking for. +1
The only thing you need to realize is that, once again, this game isn’t made for WvW. I honestly kind of wish it was. (WvW is the sole reason I play this game) However, it is not and therefore the devs aren’t going to direct as much attention to it as either of us would like.
I thought all of your ideas were brilliant. However, all of your ideas are going to take a lot of time and money to put into place. Especially when WvW isn’t the primary focus of this game. Whether we like it or not, it is what it is.
I think where we disagree is that I believe the devs are working on pushing WvW in the right direction one step at a time, but simply aren’t ready for any huge updates yet. In general, (and they have stated before though I forget where I read it) they try and do updates in small doses. That way they don’t bite off more than they can chew if the update is a step in the wrong direction.
It seems to me that you, however, believe the devs are just throwing whatever crappy solution they can in a small amount of time. I think that comes down to a matter of opinion and I’m not sure you can claim that the majority of WvW players agree with you. I certainly do not.
Zacchary: You have just made my day! It’s so nice to see that someone else on these forums understands how balance works. Thank you for taking the time to write this up! I agreed with literally everything you just said.
On a side note-I had a friend who made a statement about a certain game (I won’t say the name) that was very wise. He said, “X game is so balanced that it sucks.” When you think about it, it’s very true. Too balanced of a game is simply no fun in my opinion (and his, apparently) because there is no longer an underdog or an “overdog” (if you will.) There remains no longer any challenge.
Anyways…thanks again Zacchary!
I dare to say I play casually and still earn enough gold.
At this moment I have about 30 gold, leveled 4 crafts and am halfway the 5th, I have 2 pieces of tier 3 armor (top and legs) have multiple pieces of tier 1 and 2 armor over different characters, have (near) full exotic on 3 level 80 characters, I am working towards a legendary (thus have a ton of tier 6 mats, a couple of mats for mystic clovers and 40 mystic clovers made.I might not be ‘as’ rich as a part of the community, but I am having fun, and doing whatever I want.
I RP with my guild, occasionally run a dungeon or fractals (that happens like what? Once a month..?) I sometimes wvwvw, I work on map completion and just randomly run around and kill stuff, if I happen to feel like beating up something bigger I’ll check gw2stuffs and see what events are running.I am not exceptionally lucky with drops, I do not play the TP, I do not rush dungeons and I’m fractals lvl 7 atm.
As said I don’t sell the tier 6 mats I get which would net me quite a bit of extra gold.tbh, I think gold isn’t all THAT hard to earn. Clean out your collecters tab every now and then, sell anything that’s worth something and gold will come easily.
This is about the same answer I was gonna give except I’m not quite as far along as you. :P Well spoken!
Honestly, Forst, just have fun! The only times that I begin not having fun in a video game is when I set some kind of standard that I have to achieve. For example, “Gotta get that legendary!” Or “Gotta get that achievement” or “Gotta get that world completion” etc. Generally, the best method for playing the game is to take everything in small doses. Do a little CoF, WvW, fractals, world completion, etc. Then, with the remainder of your play time, do the thing that you most want to do. (For me that would be WvW.)
Sure, I’m not the most successful or richest player out there (not even close!) but I’m having more fun than probably 90% of all the gamers out there. There really isn’t any hurry to complete anything. Even the living story updates don’t have to be completed. Just take your time and enjoy the game, mate! Hopefully this helps a little…
Any massive update would be completely ignorant on the part of Anet. The only way to fix something that is broken is by repairing it one piece at a time. That is exactly what you see the devs doing! Why people don’t get this, I’ll never understand. If you have ever been any kind of game developer, you would understand. Shoot, even if you’ve been in a game that failed because they did some massive update that caused problems, you might understand. Sometimes I wonder how developers even maintain their sanity with everyone and their dog wining about something.
Are you and Lordkrall twins?
By the way, the issue here isn’t massive update versus smaller update. The issue is updates at all, whether bug fixes, balance fixes, or additional content. The complaints about WvW all center around the general lack of attention paid to it by ANet versus the amount of development effort that apply to PvE. I would have thought that had been obvious, but apparently not.
I’ll ignore the personal attack and say that they have been adding constant updates to WvW since day one. They haven’t been ignoring WvW at all. They have been focusing on their two week updates mostly because that is what the game is all about. The game doesn’t revolve around WvW. Neither is WvW being ignored, though. The sooner the community realizes this, the better.
LOL. Not sure which you consider to be a personal attack … the comparison to Lordkrall or the reference to being obvious.
In any case, my point (which I thought WAS obvious) is that >by comparison< to PvE WvW IS being ignored. Those updates you refer to are minor and for the most part disdained by the WvW community (nobody asked for them or in many cases even wants them), while on the other hand major living world content is being pushed out every two weeks.
Your point was obvious but I don’t believe it was valid. I just said this, but I’ll say it again-this game doesn’t revolve around WvW. Of course by comparison it’s going to seem like it gets less attention because by comparison barely any players participate in WvW as PvE. Those minor updates I refer to aren’t minor in the least. I left the game for a month or two and came back to find an entire WxP system. Whether they are “disdained by the WvW community” or not is irrelevant. The Gw2 community in general is not very thankful for anything in Gw2. The point is that the developers are slowly but surely evolving this game forward with every update in PvE mainly, but also in WvW.
Obviously you disagree so let me ask you why. What is it that you want? Or are you just here to complain?
Personally, I like these skills. I don’t wish them to be removed.
If you are losing money in WvW you are doing it wrong. Really wrong.
Yup, I don’t do any dungeons and have lots of gold coming in each day, just from WvW.
Some tips:
- aoe tag tag tag anything, tag any enemy you see even if downed
- don’t upgrade camps if there is nobody to protect them, it’s a waste of money
- don’t upgrade anything if you’re loosing money in WvW.. there are enough people (commanders) who have tons of gold for that purpose. They area also responsible for protecting the places, so it’s only fair they pay for it. If you don’t plan to stay behind for a few hours with a couple of friends to guard and defend the place, upgrading it means throwing money away. A zerg will take it in few minutes if not guarded.
- dont follow anyone blindly, commanders often underestimate their own forces and lead people to their deaths. A wise warrior knows when a battle can’t be won and retreats to fight another day (and gather the loot bags ^^). Example: If the enemy has 2x more people and is charging you, don’t just stack up, you will die like sheep, if you have less people, you need to be the one flanking with veils, using surprise, then you have a chance vs superior numbers. A thing some ‘stack buff charge’ commanders often forget, and they find themselves wondering why their zerg scatters all over the area.
- don’t die, have multiple ways to survive and get out of the enemy melee train and back into your own people
- press your area loot key often while fighting, to pick up bags as they fall
What is this? A guy who knows how to play WvW is on the forums? Remarkable! You, sir, deserve a prize! +1

You are effectively making the map larger which would make wvw more interesting. On he flip side it will make the number of battles you fight / hr smaller so there are less action but each battle would count more towards map control.
This sounds like the most intelligent and realistic repercussion of the idea.

So it sounds like most of you are saying that it might help stop zerging to an extent. Is that right? And is that a good thing? (Again, not saying anything, myself. Just asking questions.)
It won’t stop zerging. It will stop a zerg from pouring in for a defense, but it won’t stop zerging at all, not even to an extent.
Can you elaborate on this?
It’s funny when they wanna do it so fast that it takes them like half an hour to find the right group. Then, by that time, me and some friends have already run it.
So it sounds like most of you are saying that it might help stop zerging to an extent. Is that right? And is that a good thing? (Again, not saying anything, myself. Just asking questions.)
It’s interesting we should be having this conversation about making money in WvW because just today I looted a berserker’s mask which made me 8 gold. Clearly WvW isn’t quite as useless as people think for making money…
Who would care about the way point then. A useless waste of gold.
Clearly you are unfamiliar with the WvW mechanics and strategies. Way pointing doesn’t cost gold in WvW.
Clearly I am because the upgrade would be a waste and costs gold, hence a useless waste of gold. I’ve paid for it several time.
Gotcha. I thought you were referring to the cost of waypointing.
Who would care about the way point then. A useless waste of gold.

aw well, thread died cuz it got moved to another dead sub-forum, oh well, at least one day after 4 years anet might go over these forums and see my thread, and realize that some people would like to have the discussions on forums that matter. Anyways, until they fix the income/sink problem with WvW and the balance issue I wont be stepping on WvW in any serious manner any day, my server, GoM will continue being 20th rating or lower because everyone is on the same deal as me; zerging is not fun, getting zerged is not fun, spending money in repairs, upgrades and having no way to get it back is not fun, feeling like a drop of melee tear in an endless sea of 1200tsunamis is not fun. Im out
Swap servers bro. I promise you it’s much more worth it at least on my server.
(Bear in mind I have not stated anything about this idea. I have simply posed the question. Please don’t eat me…)
Lol.
Nom, nom, nom, nom.
WPs can mean the difference between saving a T3 structure and having it fall.
That’s something to consider for sure. But would that be a bad thing?
Many guilds waiting for their daily raid
Some guilds waiting for some GvG’sCan we have the freakin update allrdy?
Why do you have to kick us all out of WvW for 4hours for PvE patch?
EU primetime almost overGG
Again
Translation-Stop fixing the game and fix the game already!
You are not allowed to waypoint unless you are dead? What would be the issues, if any? What would be the positive aspects, if any? Thoughts?
(Bear in mind I have not stated anything about this idea. I have simply posed the question. Please don’t eat me…)
Frankly, I don’t see the issue.
If
No, you are wrong. It’s not a simple matter of losing gold. It’s simply not as efficient making it as other no-risk classes who benefit from using you the melee as a buffer to attack. In the same way Wvw and other Pvp is unrewarding compared with Pve There is a big difference. So it is you who are mistaken not me and there is definitely a reason to complain if you want to put it like that.
No I am not wrong. I was addressing the exact thing that you complained about and now you have changed your complaints. No class will lose gold in WvW if they know how to play the game correctly. I’m using the classic “learn to play” argument, here. You are wrong about “no-risk classes.” Every class is going to be at risk. I believe your statements about ranged classes implies that you only play melee classes and are ignorant as to how to defeat a ranged class. Again, learn to play your class.
I believe you are right that WvW is not as efficient as dungeon farming but duh! Dungeons are supposed to rake in the big doe. They are dungeons. That’s what they do. As far as roaming the world in pve goes, I make much more money in WvW than doing that even on my melee classes. So again I say to you, learn to play and stop complaining.
What can I say. I loved it. The living story Idea is great in my view. It got me back in to GW2. I love the fact that every 2 weeks I have something different to do. I still go around and do the same old, like events, and map completion stuff, but the bazar was a nice distraction with some fun content. I also like the transient nature of the living story, so its always fresh, and you want to get on and play it before its gone. Now this is only my opinion and I know many others disagree, I just wanted to say Good job Anet:)
Nice to see a change of tone on the forums! I agree. I think the content was fenominal.
I’m rather curious about this because I want to get into it, but playing with friends and people I know is something I try to do because I just have so much more fun. The only PvP i can get my friends and any guildies of a guild that has 200 people is WvW roaming. They give me some of the worst excuses I can find to not do spvp. I always give them solutions but they just make up another excuse. Maybe I’m unlucky, but the other guilds and people I interact with seldom do sPvP. I’ve only met 1 person who is a avid s/tpvper in this game and he goes offline for long periods of time.
So tell me forum, why do you guys not play sPvP? I really wish more people would play it, it is saddening that I am in contact with 200+ people and I hardly see any of them want to do spvp.
I think a big part of it is that the rewards are not very big at all for anything outside if spvp itself. A big reason I, personally, don’t do spvp, though, is simply because I find it very confusing. The whole way everything is set up is much different than normal pve or WvW. I suppose I could try and figure it out, but honestly, again why should I? I just don’t see the point. I suppose once I get bored with the rest of the game I might try it out, but there’s plenty to keep me entertained until then. Does this answer your question? I hope I helped!
I don’t PVP, ever, so why don’t my achievement chests give me something useful for PVE???
I’m fed up getting honor tokens and other PVP rubbish I’ll never use.
You get gold, laurels, MF boosts, exp boosts, Karma boosts, Weapon Skins, Armor Skins and Badges of Honor can be used to buy cheap exotic weapons and armor.
Stop complaining when it should be the sPvPers.
I was gonna respond…then I read this post. Lol #boompow
in a way it’s a rhetorical question because i know the play styles and classes involved. plus i’m not too sure but there was a change to put bags by the feet of ranged, or was it just siege. if true it would further the “reward the no-risk playstyle the most (and pve)” design philosophy of anet.
It’s clear you are frustrated with WvW at the moment but try and contain yourself. Your negative comments are not helping anything and I believe most of them are sadly mistaken anyways. The masses in this thread have agreed that repair costs are very minuscule. Especially now that you can purchase re-sellable blueprints with badges. If you are steadily losing money in WvW, you are doing it wrong.
Personally, I’ve played both melee and ranged classes and I have found that ranged classes do indeed get more bags, but I’ve also found that ranged classes are harder. Yes, I said harder. Especially when fighting opponents who know what the term “flank” means.
If we are complaining, how about I complain that there are no melee siege weapons. After all, melee classes can build ranged siege and get the best of both worlds, whereas ranged classes are always stuck as being ranged. I’m being sarcastic in case you didn’t notice. There is no reason to complain, so please calm yourself and stop.
Please for the love of god nerf the god kitten perma-stealth build. It is such a pile of crap that I have to use stealth traps to kill a thief anymore. If you won’t nerf the build, then at least give some classes something that cancels out stealth. Im not talking crap AC skills and expensive traps, im talking like an actual skill or two.
Like a crowd control skill?…I just made a new berserker mesmer the other day and have already learned how to do just fine against thieves. Sure, I don’t win every battle but neither do they. Learn your class, man. If your class can’t do well against thieves, then play a different class. It’s like rock paper sciccors. Maybe in this case, you’re the scissors and he’s the rock. Am I making any sense?
I don’t usually post but I wanted to give a quick shout out to Ehmry Bay! I went solo roaming in Eternal Battlegrounds and got my butt kicked a few times. I was glad to see the victors walk up to my defeated body and salute it. Great sportsmanship guys and good fights!
If I’m not mistaken, you can acquire world transfers with gems. If this is the case, you could always tell your friend to save his gold and swap it for gems. I doubt it would take that long and you guys can always do dungeons together in the mean time. Hope this helped!
Oh my gosh! Nerf the kite already! It’s so over powered! (Just adding to the current list of complaints is all)
Hmmm. I think it’s too valuable a gold sink to be rid of it. I could be wrong.
I’m glad you’re back! However, I simply don’t understand how the social aspect turned you away from GW, but kept you in WoW…?
I don’t know your opinion, but it seems that GW2 turns into a platform game with the lately content. That wouldn’t be a problem, but I am sorry to say, GW2 platform jumping is one of the crappiest if not the ultimate crap regarding jumping platformers on the game market today or in recent gaming history.
I’ve played Mario since the very beginning (DK anyone?). This definitely isn’t a game made for platforming, and this game definitely isn’t being taken over by platforming. The “lately content” is absolutely amazing and contains much more than just platforming. I’m not sure why you are complaining. Then again, I’m never sure why anyone is…
This is NOT about liking this content or not.
This, my friend, is where you are sadly mistaken. This is a video game. When people like content, they spend money on it. I’ve talked with tons of people who have agreed that this bazaar has been their best patch yet. If you don’t like it, go play something else. I’m sure there’s a better, more hardcore mmorpg out there for you somewhere.
there are no account wide stats that make you better than anyone else who doesn’t have those stats.
Yes they do actually. They make you richer easier. That’s self explanatory.
But you don’t need them. Need is a very strong word, bro.
Achievments are optional. You don’t need it.

Flooding the market with gold? I’m sorry I can’t take this thread seriously.
That’s exactly where I stopped reading as well.
Dear anet,
Push my easy button for me.
Love,
Some random person
It’s not exactly hard to sprint to a dungeon…just a few minutes inconvenient.
Now that you have this section in, I’m starting to do more achievements which I’m having alot of fun doing since each one is like “I didn’t realize I was close to finishing this one, I only need 5 more of these to complete it!” I was bored before the patch, but this new achievement interface is so nice once I got use to it
Is anyone else doing achievements more frequently because of this section?
Yes sir! I certainly am! It motivates me to get the rewards in the chests and such. I actually feel like there’s a bit more of a focus to the game. Not that there wasn’t before, but now even more so.
