hi Fortus, i do tpvp with ele, mesmer and warrior, and i disagree with you.
I’m actually running a glass cannon build on my ele with scepter and FOCUS, and it works awesome in a roamer role.
On the other hand, my team dont want me to go with warrior in tpvp, because “ele and mesmer are better in everything”
So i think Defektive is right, ele is not a priority when we talk about buffs.

Hi guys, the title say it all, i dont want to spend all my glory in dyes, and i have already every possible skin i can obtain with my rank.
Can we get some super kitten unique skin for like 50K or 100K glory? that could bring a lot of PVE farmlovers in spvp, and then we could farm them in arenas, FUN!

The signet of earth make me do more dmg than the Arcane Blast, most of the times i can land DT->phoenix->fire grab.
Aquamancer and Renewing stamina make me almost unkillable in 1v1 and still doing good dmg.
I have to admit that DD is way easier than SD, cant even compare! But this build is really fun to play!
Right now the classes that i cant defeat in 1v1 are:
Engineer: oh this class is just godly OP right now imo…
DD cantrip ele: they outheal my dmg
Guardian bunker: they dont kill me, i dont kill them, endless -.-

After a good day of playing now i think i understand better this build, i actually owned really easily mesmers, necros, guardians, rangers and other eles in 1v1!
It may sound stupid, but i actually have problems with warrior and thief, having only 1 stunbreaker with 75s CD is deadly sometimes, i cant survive a 100B or backstab→spam2 while stunned, i suffer the burst more then the sustained dmg.

By the way i’m actually thinking about a change in the build, getting aquamancer alacrity instead of vital strike may be a good change, and ther’s 1 more thing did you guys tried the immobilize from signet of earth? i think it could be an awesome chain:
Updraft → Signet of earth → Dragon Tooth → Fire Grab

Both or your sigils share cooldowns, you might want to change it. You might also want to swap arcane mastery for renewing stamina or vital striking for either aquamancer’s alacrity or stop drop and roll (if enemy team composition has plenty of burning) if you have issues with surviving.

are you sure about sigils cooldowns? never tought about it, one is “on weapon swap” and the other “on critical hit”.
Thank you for the advice about traits, i already tought about that (2 cantrip & 1 arcane or 2 arcane % 1 cantrip) with different traits.

Scepter is too slow for pvp. I also switched to dps in pvp and have found a build that works for me:
15/15/15/15/10 with divinity runes and cleric amulet; D/D sigil of hydromancy and sigil of force.
Will give you alot of pbaoe skills so all you gotta do is stick to whomever you’re fighting and just keep doing rotations.

y’r survivability will be average and damage will be average but because of the large amount of attacks you’ll do in a short amount of time you could call it somewhat of a continuous burst.

Only problem is the low cooldown on elemental atunement swap. Aka the build isn’t perfect but it works.

The build i’m running with is ok, i’m not gonna change it, that is probably the best dps build for ele (really similar to Phantaram build, he is the best dps ele out there).
Your build is not dps (not saying is not good), cause you’re using cleric jewel, that’s more bunkerish, i always used cleric with DD and 0-0-10-30-30, but now i wanna try something different.
I’m having problems with scepter not becuase is slow, but because is too fast, rotations are crazy and if u lose 1 second you’ll die, especially when i try to combine Updraft with Dragon’s Tooth, i really need some advice for helping me survive!

Last Stand is really awesome now, i suggest to try it to everyone, it block the first CC! so you dont even have to bother with balanced stance, BUT it have a huge problem as a trait, if u have it and u use Balanced Stance, it will activate the 90 seconds ICD for the trait, so if i want more stability dolyak signet is the best option imo. (46 seconds cd).
I find bolas to be situational, sometimes is almost useless and is really hard to use, so dolyak signet is better maybe…
As for the 20-20-0-0-30, i’ve made a post about that build, i’ve received only hate from the whiners of this forum saying i’ll die super fast… i know that build is awesome, but it need support from the team cause is too squishy, it maybe look poor but 30 points in defense really make the difference and i’m able to escape almost always when things go bad.
I think is matter of role, the role of a death machine 20-20-0-0-30 is to kill super fast and retreat, with this build i cant do the same dmg, but i survive better and i’m stronger in 1v1 due to the sustain.
I really suffer against mesmers, enginers and thieves, my lack of AoE and Mobile Strikes really make the difference with this 3 classes, but i’m able to win duels against guardians, necro, warriors and eles, sometimes with rangers too.
What do you do against mesmers and engies in 1v1?

Hi Guys, lately i used only warrior in pvp, and i changed build almost every hour to find a good combination of stats-traits-weapons etc…
i actually found the build that work best for me, awesome dmg and good survivability if ur able to turn around and run when u know ur gonna get stomped in 1vX, btw i actually won every 1v1 i made, but i tried it only in hot joins.

by the way, after this buff why a warrior should try a thief and viceversa? i think that’s the problem.
If Anet could give us access to protection boon, the class could be fixed in a moment for me.
Even something really small like: “you get protection for 1 second when you dodge or block” could change our class deeply imo.
Or a new way to stay stick with ur enemy, maybe a new shout “over here kitten!” that make u leap to ur target an daze them for 2 seconds. ^^

Imo shouts work in pve and wvw but not in spvp.
The main problem for ANet with warrior is the balance between pve and pvp, for example the ele got nerfed in pvp, and now is really underpower in pve, the warrior is the same in opposite direction.

As i said before, check on youtube, i think its Team Paradigm vs Team Iron, there’s an awesome warrior there and he’s using the set up i wrote, the one i wrote is not a build i made.

Yes, the warrior is underpowered. They still have some semblance of viability, but trying to do what other classes already do way better isn’t it. Melee “no defense – all in” berserker damage isn’t a particularly good thing for a warrior.

No, I’m sorry to disappoint, but your damage is nowhere near an equally offensive Thieve’s. This isn’t PvE. You’re not gonna deliver one hundred blades after the other. Backstabs and heartseekers dwarf your DPS. Hell, I doubt your actual delivered damage even rivals a mesmer’s…

Sorry to disappoint again, but most normal melee has standard reach – 130 units. It has nothing to do with how big your weapon is. Warrior’s greatsword has 130 units of range on their standard attack, the same that a Thieve’s dagger. Yes, even if your Warrior is a norn and the Thief is an asura… That’s not how this works. What you do have over a Thieve’s dagger (not their sword though) is cleave. More relevant in PvE where mobs mindlessly bunch up in tight groups than in PvP.

If you mean “range” as in mobility, as in WW and Rush then… Are you serious? More mobility than a THIEF? Since when?

“Assassination” is what Thieves excel at, and even then they’re not particularly hot in the current PvP meta for a reason…

You talk about “group roaming”, but this is tPvP, not WvW. tPvP isn’t about zerging around in a full group. At most you’re going to have 3 roamers – at most. You’re going to have to hold your own in a fight. And this doesn’t.

I meant that whirlwind a 100b usually hit multiple targets, when i say group roaming i mean 3 people.
I never wrote that warrior is a good class, i prefer mesmer as roamer when i want to win, but 90% of the times i’ll be at my base with an ele ^^
What i want to say is that if you want to be the dmg dealer in the roamer group with a warrior, this the best build.
I’m far from pro, i played against Boon, Team Ugly and other pro teams, and i always lost, but usually i win 80% of the matches with my team in tpvp.

Dagger Thieves usually never hit more than one target, while a whiwind hit a lot in bases fight.
You’re assuming that i said things i never said, that’s pretty lame in a discussion.
In hotjoin i run a 0-20-30-0-20 hammer/gs with valkyrie amulet for the sustain, but in a group of roamers the role of a warrior is to do dmg.
From what you say a believe you are the one that never did tpvp with a warrior.

The mesmer is really strong, that was my main class for two months and i tried a lot of builds, you are right here, a mesmer is probably always better than a warrior if he run a shatter build with boon stripper, but the warrior dmg is still superior, and a group roaming class really need dmg above else to steal the bases quickly.

No offense, but I really despise GS zerker glass. Sure you can block the focus for 3 seconds, but premades aren’t dumb they’ll wait till your shield is down and roflstomp that build. It relies on being carried.

Here’s a more balanced build that won’t drop like a fly and you still have enough juice to punish ppl, but in a more subtle way.

If you run with that build you will be surprised at how well you will do, if you work together as a team

I use a really similar build to yours in pve and wvw.
Pve: 10-20-0-30-10
Wvw: 0-10-0-30-30
With shout heal and soldier runes, i know thats an awesome build, but lack in dmg compared to a classic zerk GS.
When it comes to tpvp, i switch 20 points from strenght to defense if i need survivabity, i think tactic is not a good tree in tpvp cause of its stupid minor traits. This is just my opinion.

Group roaming: an ele or a mesmer can keep u clean of conditions, as i wrote, i use this build in group roaming.
If u need condition removal in solo fights, i suggest mending, Lyssa runes and sigil of purity on the axe.

in PVE i use this:
10-20-0-30-10
V-V-X-VI-VIII-XII
berserker armor with berserker trinkets.
bloodlust sigil on greatsword, runes of the soldier.
it’s a shout heal build with great dmg output from greatsword and rifle.
with this build you’ll also give a good support trough shouts, you: give might and fury, remove conditions, heal allies.

this is my build and i think is the best dps setup for pvp

i never lose to thieves in 1v1 when they try to steal my base in tpvp, i use DD.
My suggestion is to go tanky.
My build is classic cantrip 0-0-10-30-30 with cleric amulet.
Runes of the Ogre, sigils of Bloodlust and Battle.
The secret against thieves is too use AoEs where they stealthed, dont stop attacking just because they are in stealth, that’s the most important thing.

Hi all, this is not a build i made, this is just the build that 80% of the good warriors run with in tpvp right now, so i tought that if anybody is looking for a good build, this is probably the best you can get.
It’s full glass cannon, you have to be really good at kite and use the walls and spaces in your advantage.

WEAPONS:
1)Greatsword
2)No standard weapon as second set, i run axe/shield, but the best warrior i ever met in pvp used greatsword/rifle with this build, so it’s up to you.

UTILITIES:
Cure: you choose, i use Healing Surge, but i think every healing skill is viable
Utilities: Bull Charge – Frenzy – Balanced Stance
Elite: signet

TRAITS:
20-20-0-0-30
Strenght: V and IV
Arms: V and X
Discipline: V, X and XII

EQUIP:
Amulet: Beserker with Berserker Jewel
Runes: no standard choice here, you choose (i use Divinity or Eagle)
Sigil: Fire or Force on greatsword, u just want to do a lot of damage here, you choose what to put in the second set, (my setup is GS: Fire/ AXE: Purity / SHIELD: energy)

This is the build, it’s made for group roamers, and it’s very awesome when it comes to dmg output, i found it to be good in 1v1 too, but is not made for that, and of course never think about defending points.
It’s important to know other classes skills, so that you’ll know when they’re out of stun breakers, and you can drop one of your 2 bursts or both.
NB: i noticed that in almost every premade team the first enemy that get the Ctrl+T on his head is the warrior, so be ready for an initial burst in almost every group fight, thats why i use the shield.

Eviscerate is our best burst and probably the best in the game.
With my current build i do from 1800 to a full bunker guardian with protection to 9000 to light armor classes with glass builds.
I believe that with a build made for eviscerate we can go for a one shot kill to dps builds.
With my current build i dont use:
Axe mastery: +10% dmg
15 points in discipline: +15% dmg
Banner of discipline: +15% dmg
Empowered: +6% dmg form the boons gien by the elite signet
On my mark: +10% dmg

This means i could get a +56% dmg to my eviscerate.
My peak is 9000, +56% i could get 14000.
An ele with cleric amulet and 30 in water have 13000 hp.
BOOM ONE SHOT!!

I also spend my free time “trollin” about how warrior suck, but thats truth and we cant do anything about (i can only support Daecollo). We can only troll and hope that devs can give us some love in new patch (but soon not in another 6 months).

U can find Balanced stance in both Longbow and there is signet of stamina in hammer build (endurance regen pasive + cure all condi active). Other then that mending is awful (cure 2 random condi with 25 sec cd), with Healing Surge you can heal alot more (if full adrenaline bar) and/or recharge adrenaline when you need it.

This is a comment i like, no hate man we are all in the same situation, i know warrior is underpower but i dont like to whine

Please correct typos there is a “PvP” in thread title, but this build is pure PVE build and its bad build.
Regardless of the build purpose change mending for healing surge its alot better in both pve and PVP (more healing + full adrenalin recharge on demand).
Also you cant play warrior in tPvP without balanced stance.

1) bull charge->frenzy->100b is useless in PVE, this is a PVP build of course and works very good, try it and then reply to me
2) Mending have a lower recharge and cure 2 conditions, i dont know if you ever used warrior in pvp but if you did you know conditions are a great problem for our class, imo mending is a must have in pvp
about balanced stance, i use it instead of fear me a lot of times, i just prefer fear because it have a better “support” factor due to being an AOE and it’s usefull for stomping and ressing
btw, if you say it’s a bad build, post yours, i’m curious, maybe i can change mine

1) was playstyle back in days when haste was 200% (ur build is fake troll attempt without stunbreaker)
2) played 636 tournament games as warrior so far.

1) bull charge→frenzy→100b is useless in PVE, this is a PVP build of course and works very good, try it and then reply to me
2) Mending have a lower recharge and cure 2 conditions, i dont know if you ever used warrior in pvp but if you did you know conditions are a great problem for our class, imo mending is a must have in pvp
3) about balanced stance, i use it instead of fear me a lot of times, i just prefer fear because it have a better “support” factor due to being an AOE and it’s usefull for stomping and ressing
btw, if you say it’s a bad build, post yours, i’m curious, maybe i can change mine

I’m able to live a lot, of course not like when i use my ele, but i still survive a lot.
Basically i play similar to a thief, i attack, down one enemy in the group and then i run back, i dont stay in the middle of the action all the time like a guardian, in some tpvp i stomp 10+ times without dying one single time, and i won several 1vs1.

This is the build, you’re not here to defend point, you’re are here to do the biggest dmg in teh game, and still be able to survive! I was a little shoked to see myself owning eles and mesmers in less than 30 seconds in 1vs1, but it’s possible.
Basically this is the old but gold 100B frenzy build that we all loved, but now we have -43% duration (!!!!!) to movement impairment conditions.

The build is all about the timing, we have 2 awesome bursts (100b frenzy and Eviscerate), and its vital to know when to use them, if you fail you’re gonna lose the fight.
Stay most of the time on the greatsword, the axe/shield is needed for Eviscerate when the enemy is low life or when you need a little of defense: +50% endurance, -1 condition, 5 seconds block, switch back to greatsword.
Fell free to ask what you want or to give suggestions about your version of the build.

Hi Arena Net devs, i really want to thank you for what you have done in the last patch!!!
I use 2 classes in spvp, elementalist and warrior, and i think you’ve done the right changes in both.
The ele really needed a nerf, and what you did was the right thing, not too big not too small, i still enjoy the class without feeling wrong for using an OP build on an OP class.
The warrior… Awesome!! I did a new build, and started doing tpvp with my team, omg i had so much fun! I both killed and got killed by every class in 1vs1, really felt balanced with other classes. (Btw i think the +3% dmg to burst for 30 points in discipline is not enough)
The CA and spectator mode are really good too!!
Thank you a 1000 times!!!! this game is awesome and i really enjoy it, not to mention all the friends i found with guilds.

1b- The real nerf is Mist Form, not being able to use ustilities (heal/glyph) while mist form will actually means many Elems are gonna skip it for Cleansing Fire or Armor of Earth.

9/10 i use mist form to stomp people in the middle of group fights to avoid CC and dmg, still able to do this.

Yep lol you got it confused, OP. To reiterate, the RTL nerf is supposed to make it so that you CAN’T run away as much. They only want you to start battles with it. If you don’t have a target the CD is twice as long (40 sec).

well, if you say it like this, its absolutely vice versa they toned down movement ability, not escape ability…

target -> RTL in -> fight -> run away after 20sec CD, same as now
no target -> RTL to move -> cant run away if cough after this, because CD is 40sec

see the difference? they want ele to use it to fight and escape from fights, not to move across the map

100% this, you need ! RTL to escape, and if you hit with the one that you use to engage, you’ll have it after 20 sec like now. If you’re not sure that you’re goin to hit with it, dont use it to engage and save it for the escape. I’m not confused at all.

My main is an ele since bwe 2, and of course i’m playing a DD cantrip build.
But just admit that OUR CLASS IS OP, everybody know that, just watch the number of eles in pvp in the last 2 months, that’s just stupid, 2/3 ele in almost every party.

So what the kitten is thinking all the people that ask for buffs? We cant have buffs, we need nerfs!

By the way, here the solution i’m goin to adopt:
1) Less condition removal: gonna put Cleansing Fire in my utilities
2) Signet of restoration nerf: goin back to a PVT set up instead of cleric, gonna use the Glyph
3) RTL nerf: just gonna use it to escape, not to enter the fight, not a big issue for me, the only real problem is that roaming is gonna be slower for us

And i want to make you know that signets are gonna get a buff like banners in the last patch, so i’m definetly gonna retry a 20-10-x-x-x aurasignet build

This is mostly for Hotjoin servers, a just for fun build, you get from 18 to 23 stack of might in 6 seconds, then drop the hammer or the sword depending on the situation, go to water, and attack.
You give vulnerability to your enemy with critical, and do 20% more dmg while attouned to water.
Really funny, even if u’ll die really fast ;P

You have probably nailed one of the best duos already, keep at it.

I personally like hybrid dps guardian with hybrid dps Ele. Some great combos there.

Yeah, guardian, ele and engie are pretty good, i can give to my friend 15 stack of might in 6 seconds, what’s another class that give a lot of boons to allies?
Mesmer have some cool aoe like null field, time warp and staff #5, but i think is better in big fights with 3+ people.
