Well, my answers to all this questions are YES, so i decided to try a “back to basics” build that is similar to the old ones, 1 year ago, when not all the build were bunkers, and when we had some diversity between classes even if warriors were the worst class in game.
I came up with this:

I tried some versions,
-Hoelbrack runes or Lyssa
-Axe instead of sword for the F1
-bulcharge and/or bolas
-banner of discipline

I’m not here to say this build is any good or better then hambow or shouts, it isnt, but boy i’m having FUN in yolo arenas, way more than running cheese easymode builds that require no skills.
I actually owned some necros, spirit rangers, thieves, guardians and burst eles so in fact this is not even that bad after all.
Lets give it a try and feel like a real warrior again!

The Razor Naga is too expensive as the first gaming mouse to buy, so i bought a Logitech g300 for only 25€.

I’m gonna have it in 5 days, so i’ll tell you how it is!

OK so i saw on Amazon that the Perixx 2000 is for “big hands”, too bad i’m short and have small ones…
Is the Razor Naga good for small hands?

I had a Razer Naga, it was okay but I honestly didn’t need that many buttons. I could get by with 3-4 extra buttons, I didn’t need all 12. If you do, it’s a nice enough mouse. Not my preferred shape, but it’s a nice mouse. My middle mouse button wore out on the Naga after a year or two, which I use for dodging, so that had to be replaced ASAP!

I’m currently using less buttons on a Perixx mouse. I hadn’t heard of this company before purchasing this, I only got it because it was on sale at Newegg, but my goodness this is a great mouse. It feels like its better quality than the Razer I had, more solidly built and fits better in my hand, yet it was 1/4 the price. Came with weights as well, very surprised with the quality of this mouse. Mine has only a couple extra buttons but I believe they sell mice with more buttons to compete with the Naga. I recommend looking into this company to anyone.

As for keyboard bindings I use 1-5 for weapon skills. I use shift+1-5 for heal, utilities, and elite respectively. I use ctrl+1-4 for profession skills. This way my hand never has to stretch at all since I only have to reach the numbers 1-5.

Is the MX 2000 ok?

I came back to GW2 after a 5 months break, and i’m pretty happy of the changes i saw in this 2 days.
To refresh my experience with the game, i wanted to roll a brand new class that i never even tried in the first year i played, so i created and engineer.
I did only pvp in the last 2 days, and probably i will do only tpvp when i’ll find a new group of player, so i’m not interested in pve/wvw.

I find really hard to survive against burst classes like ele o thief, and more important i usually faceroll the keyboard dropping all bombs at the same time or all the grenades in the same spot lol, a lot of skills are hard to control even if my main was an elementalist.
I wish u guys could give some advices about:
1.Improving my build
2.Survive
3.Control all the skills i have without goin qwertyberserk all the times

I think a lot has changed since the 12th dec patch.

Since the games does not have any subscription fee, i would advise you to take a look.
I am having tons of fun atm , soloq or teamq.

If you manage to find a team, you tPvP experience will increase 100%.
Its so much more fun to play organized than the rely on teammates who don’t watch the map or read the chat.

Also if you queue solo for teamqueue , can be much more rewarding then playing soloq – give it a try.

Had a team moths ago, but imo the Leaderboards ruined the approach due to the fact that guys in the top 1000 had fear to play matches lol.
My most rewarding experience in this game was winning the 8 team structured tournaments with my friends, its a shame Anet removed them

I took a pause from this game in September, cause i found myself simply running from one “2weekpatch” event to another without the opportunity to ever reach the 100% of the achievements due to my lack of free time.
And the meta in pvp was dat horrible condition meta.

If i come back i’ll do 80% spvp in solo tournaments or browser matches with some wvw and pve.

But is this game improved in the last 3 months?
How is the meta now with the last patch?
Please help me cause tomorrow i’ll play this game OR delete it and download Path of Exile

I never playied a game for a whole year in a row… well, this was true before GW2, and now with this patch, i think i could touch 2 years in a row…
This is by far my favorite videogame ever and it’s awesome that every 2 weeks it get better, you guys are doin such a great work!

It really comes down to what builds your opponents were using. There are times when I can be successful in 1v1 and 2v1’s. But there are also times when I can’t win a 1v1 vs a certain build+class to save my life. This last patch didn’t change your build at all. I use LB/GS, but haven’t tried yours yet. Maybe I should, but I have grown to liking the ranged capability.

Yeah the changes are in the sustain, and that affect every possible warrior build.
I had problems with rangers that pop something like 30 seconds stability and fighting in nodes with condition spam from necros, but in Battle For Kyhlo you can always ask a fast Trebuchet support, or in other situations you can use the great GS mobility to escape

Your build has nothing really new in this changes… healing signet?, with that healing power you have you are not getting anything from that or adrenal health.

400 HPS from the signet + adrenal healt + regeneration (30% of the time), This things with Soldier amulet are really “something”, btw i’m not the bunker in the team.
In almost every 1v1 situation i dont really need to press 6 at all

It depend on how you wanna use it, if u wanna use the F1 a lot put 30 points in discipline.
When you create a build you dont only watch weapons,
You also need to know wich utilities you’re gonna use, shouts? banners? stances (useless in pve)?
And if you wanna be full zerker, hybrid or anything else

i dont want instant cast, i just want 100’000 range on Kill Shot, SNIPEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRR

After several hours on my warrior in hot join and tpvp since last patch i really wanna thanks:
1) The warrior community, for their constant demand of sustain over the months, that really was worthy in the end.
2) Anet, for giving us what we asked.
If you ask “are the warrior class OK now in pvp?”, well for the first time i say yes.
I dont feel weak against any class, and i can fight on par vs anyone now, it’s just who’s better in skills, not in class.

This is some of the things i did yesterday in tpvp (3 hours):
- won ALL the 1v1s against all the classes in game
- won a 2v1 against warrior and ranger
- won a 2v1 against thief and mesmer
- won a 2v1 against mesmer and engi
- hold a point for almost a minute in a 3v1
(in two of the three 2v1 i won a guy from my team came for help at the end of the fight when i already downed one of the 2 guys, helped me for the stomp)

Well all this things were impossible before the last patch for me, but yesterday i really felt like i was doing the difference for my team, and they were all like “hey what is your build???”
By far the best day on my warrior since i started the class!

You cant go in the riot full berserk and ask for sustain, but most of the guys do, that’s just stupid, just equip something else

Too bad that most of suggestions works good on DPS shatter mesmers, but against a tanky condition one is almost impossible to win, as simple as that.

I found myself winning some 1v1s against Necro and Mesmer (my worst nightmares) with rifle/hammer, too bad that i MUST use my burst while the elite is active, or i’m gonna fail if that move doesnt crit…

I switched form pvp to solo roam in wvw thx to guys that really inspired me like Callahan and others, i find the warrior really more viable in wvw then pvp thanks to things like the -40% condition duration food, ruby orbs and sigil of impact.

Well i have big problems with mesmers, and is so sad because i have huge experience with that class in tpvp, so i always know what’s the real one and what skills the guy is using, but it look like a good mesmer will always win against a good warrior.
I’m far from pro but i can hold my own against every class and win most of the 1v1s, but everytime i see a mesmer with a Staff equipped i know i’m in big trouble.

How do u deal with mesmers (mostly bunker 1vx builds) with your hammer build?
I find that most of the time i cant land my combos due to their staff#2 + blink + decoy + F4 and so on…
That the only class i really fear when i solo roam in wvw

Sword #2 miss 90% of the time, even with immobile targets (in PVE).

This is gettin me sick, considering i even use Leg Specialist….
I’m not experienced a lot with sword, so i wanna ask you any tip or suggestion or anything that can help me.

Sorry i could not reply in this days, i did some small changes in the build, it’s now a real burst build, even if it’s not the ultimate version.
Here it is, this is the version i’m using now in spvp and tpvp:

Another version of the build that is still experimental, but that offer the best peak burst, is this:

in this last version we have 10% more dmg in our burst and 1 more istant cast skill that hit really hard, sigil of fire.

I think that a lot of people did not realize this, but from the last patch we’re actually the BEST burst class in the game.
I play a lot on my warrior and mesmer too, and the dmg got nerfed in both classes, in fact you dont see a lot of shatter mesmers or 100b warriors anymore in tpvp.
With this build we have this skills:
1) Lightning Strike
2) Electric Discharge
3) Arcane Blast
4) Arcane Wave
5) Sigil of Fire
That all do dmg in the same time due to the istant cast.
Most of the time you can enter the riot, target a guy with 50% life and burst him down in one second, stomp him with Arcane Shield or mistform, than RTL away, and the most awesome thing is that all our burst skills are on low coolddown, so we have our full burst rotation every 24 seconds.

Just some important tips:
1) This is not a 1v1 build and you should not engage 1v1s
2) Save RTL for fast escapes, never use it and the beginning of a fight
3) Stack might on yourself everytime you can, i usually enter a fight with 12 stacks of might, dont use arcane wave for the blast finisher if u’re goin to need it in 24 seconds

Yeah i dont really think EA is a must, i really think that that trait is overrated now, it WAS a must when every attounement was a blast finisher and the heal in water was double, but now i prefer 10 points in water basically for the master minor trait (and Vital Striking).
Yesterday i did sum tounry with Berserk/Valk instead of Valk/Berserk, it basically change precision for toughness, this i do a lot more dmg, and is probably better in a team, but i cant hold my own in most of the 1v1s

This build is really funny to play, and even if its not made for 1v1, you can manage to win a lot of fights, most of all beacuse of the blinds spam that we have with Fresh Air.

The signet of earth is there beacuse it’s probably the only way we have to drop both “Dragon Tooth” and “Fire Grab”, and that’s our best burst combo combined with Air attunement istant cast skills.

The first problem with warrior is that every animation is slooow, when i fight another warrior i simply know every skill that this guy is going to use, and almost everything is dodgeable too easily.
The second problem is not conditions in general imo, the real problem is that in the current meta too many classes can spam blinds, and one single “miss” in our rotation can turn the fight, and that’s really bad, when i use my ele i dont even watch the blinds.

To “hharry”: Warrior was OP during the beta weekends, eviscerate was a one shot skill…
to “Criminal”: lol engie was the top class for 2 months and still one of the best classes, nobody should whine about that class

Not a bad build, i tried something really similar (same traits and amulets but with axe/shield instead of the bow), but it suffer way too much of every kind of condition, particulary cripple, chilled and immobilized.

Maybe i’m wrong, but i think that every build in the new warrior pvp meta will have 2 things:
1) at least 20 points in defense
2) runes of Hoelbrak

If you take Dogged March, Cleansing Ire and Rune of the Hoelbrak and go do some pvp you’ll just feel so much stronger that is awesome, i suggest you to give it a try.

hey defektive i have a question, i see that most of the “famous” warriors like to use sword main hand, but i just cant figure out where is the strenght of the weapon…
is it just a control weapon? because i dont see any dmg output, i almost always prefer axe in every situation

because this trait is about aggressive weapons, not defensive one i think

Im not anyone underdog nor Second, third, fourth etc acount, as you can see the rest of my post (its not that hard), I try to speak of the sustain in PvP, and as stated, PvE is one world, where stats can be taken quite balanced due armor+trinque+weapons+food, and PvP another one, also i didnt bad mouthed the OP here about his video.

And again, OP tried adapting, but the sustain is as bad as it was, so if you want to argue be mature and do it in a non troll, irony on mode, dont have any problem in speaking about a matter despite haveing both oposite view of it

BTW, yeah, warrior sustain is not good, but adrenal heal is better now and we can remove 3 conditions with a burst attack, i think that a lot of people use a FULL berserk build with something like 20-30-0-0-20 and whine about the sustain, in pvp you can equip a berserk amulet but with 30 points in defense, and see the difference.
PS: I dont want to troll anybody, i’m just tired of the haters that spam in the warrior forum.

I’ve also been running a 0/0/30/10/30 since the patch, but with Hammer/Sword+Shield in WvW. It even gives you options before a particular fight if you want to swap your traits around. Nuking anything near squishy in 2-4 hits and have good durability, although no true sustain. I was really looking forward to that -5s CD on healing skills…maybe next time.

While I do think that the old half of Cleansing Ire is still the more useful part of the trait at this point, we’re on the right path to having a viable competitive warrior. My WvW options seem to have changed for the better as a more independent player and I like that.

To me, however, one of the biggest problems warrior faces in its current state is the highly telegraphed attacks. Final Thrust, while good spike damage in a melee, is very slow, much like any given hammer skill. The aftercast improvement is nice but the before is what makes the attacks unable to connect.

Yeah the real problem is that every skill we do is too easy to dodge, but that is never gonna be improved.

HI, i dont know how many warriors are happy of the changes, all i know is that in this community there are soo much whiners (Daecollo, Albundy etc…) that Anet could think that everything that they do is wrong.
I want to say thank you for yesterday patch, i had so much fun in pvp with my warrior!
I really feel that every build that we had is now stronger, even if i was disappointed that the heals were not changed.

I tried a hybrid CC build hammer/GS with 0-0-30-10-30 and now the sustain/burst is way better, Cleansing Ire is soo good that i dont even need to watch my condition sometimes.
I tried a brutal glass cannon build GS/ Axe shield with 30-0-0-10(desperate power)-30 and i can say that the damage is higher now.
It was awesome to see something like 6/7 warriors is a 5v5 arena, everybody was playing his favorite class again!

I dont do alot of wvw with my warrior, mainly tpvp, but i would like to understand how to get a lot of crit dmg (something like 90%), and still have good toughness, power and precision.

Hi guys, i’m actually using a phantasm build in tpvp, i’m not good in math, so i just choosed the 2 phantasms that i tought are the best: offhand sword and offhand pistol.
Right now i wanna see wich are the best phantasms we have, you can say your opinion or do some math for the community ^^

Here the list:
Greatsword: Phantasmal Berserker
Staff: Phantasmal Warlock
Off-hand Sword: Phantasmal Swordsman
Focus: Phantasmal Warden
Pistol: Phantasmal Duelist
Torch: Phantasmal Mage

Here my opinion:
Greatsword: not good / not bad, i give it a 6/10
Staff: does that phantasm even worth press the 3? i give it a 3/10
Off-hand sword: great, i give it a 8/10
Focus: potentially the greatest dmg, but it should be comboed with a immobilize 6/10
Pistol: the greatest phantasm, that guy is just better than me, 10/10
Torch: meh 0/10

Even if my main tournament class is DPS elementalist, warrior still my favourite class, and i can keep up with EVERYONE in 1v1, not to mention how i can kill my target in seconds when i enter a riot.
The problem here: people is stupid, just because a lot of people say that warrior suck, so everybody think that’s true, and they go mad when i kitten them in s/tpvp, btw, that keep me motivated

S/D Thieves really define “mobility”, the only thing i know when fighting them is “KEEP MOVING” and “STUN HIM WHEN YOU CAN”,
