you could just select the TP npc…

Some people haven’t quite mastered the skill necessary to get their mouse cursor to transcend layers of players swamping the npc to be able to actually highlight it.

Maybe I’m just skilled, but when there’s a swamp of people around I still don’t have this issue. Just go up to the NPC and press f. Why do you even have to click on the guy in the first place?

You need to come up with a more reasonable reason why these two should be added other than just “your game experience”. That just sounds selfish.

Either way, I’m not really for either. Capes weren’t all that cosmetically pretty for me, and only really the warriors seem to look good in them. I wouldn’t wear the cape if they came back.

As for mounts, well… There’s a five page thread on that already.

Having your own gardens for chefs would be a lot of fun. But I’d worry about people abusing that for “loot”. If there was a way that they could only use it for their crafting stations, or maybe had to spend money on purchasing the seeds and maintaining it, it may keep looters at bay. But I’m not entirely sure. =P

Well then I’d just trust ANet to use it in an easy way.

Can someone explain to me what exactly are mounts? I think I have a general idea, but… not too sure.

Either way, if the point of mounts is to avoid the Waypoints cost, then it’s pretty much just going to cause even more problems. The money sink is there for a reason. Why would they create a fast way to travel for free? If they wanted that, then they would have just made WP free.

it’s not a way to avoid WP. It’s just a run speed increase. A mount is like a horse. Just get places faster. I mean most people wouldn’t run from Orr to Lions Arch even if they did have swiftness.

So… like a buff? Or literally an item? Sorry. >.< GW is the only MMO I’ve really played, and obviously Mounts aren’t used in this game.

I would not support this.

In real life, that mail is just the NPC’s way of saying “Thanks”. If we were actually there, then the NPC could literally just come up to us and say exactly what they did in the letter. But to keep us from being forced to stick around, it’s sent in a letter instead. Also, so we can store all of our “thanks” in our inboxes. It’s a nice way to look at all the cool things you’ve done for people when you’re done.

As for the money, I rarely ever spend it right away so it’s basically like I waited 30 minutes for my reward anyway.

Make Karma Account Bound

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I don’t think of myself as being rewarded. I may have been telling my character what to do, and where to go, but ultimately, if my Norn is awarded 40,000 karma, it’s hers’… It’s not like in the real world I can actually use that 40,000 karma.

I would not want my karma to be account bound. Other people can, but I’d rather there be an option to have it stay with each character because this would bug me if each character’s karma was being deposited into my account.

This would be low on the priority list, if at all.

I was happy with the customization we were offered to begin with. This isn’t the Sims 3 – I don’t think they should really focus a lot of attention on allowing us absolute customization of every aspect of our character.

As a short person, I can say that my hands, my feet, my head, etc. are smaller because I’m shorter. I don’t really see why anybody would want to make a short person with a big head, but to each his own…

I wouldn’t object to this, but it’s something I wouldn’t use.

Sometimes, depending on the situation, I have the emote typed but I haven’t pressed enter yet just so I can time it perfectly…

That only happens because you have no other option than to type it, so you adapted.

But just test for yourself how fast you can click V-E-E or V-E-W or any combination of V plus 2 other keys among: QWERASDFZXC
(V would cancel this)

You can click 3 keys near your left hand so fast it would be impossible not to get the perfect timing

I’m cool with the idea, but I think it would take a lot of getting used to for most players. I’ve been doing /dance for over 6 years. It’s certainly not a habit I’m personally going to be able to break easily. I also think ANet would have to slowly integrate this – by allowing both emotes to be used until people get used to the VE stuff.

Not sure. I really can’t say 100% yes unless I was able to use it in action. But being able to emote while in combat would be fun!

It isn’t an inconvenience to walk around – it’s fun! I’ve encountered so many random events this way. Please, GW2 team… Do not get rid of Waypoint costs. Decreasing them, however, for those of us who need to travel long distances would be nice.

I love the down-leveling. I’m only at level 18, but I had to go back to the level 1-5 area. At first I thought, “No way these little level 2 guys are going to attack me,” because that’s how it was in GW1. But then they started coming at me… And I thought, “No way this is going to be hard!” Well, it wasn’t hard, but it did take a couple of shots. And when I reached a level 4 group and I was downscaled to level 6, it actually did feel like a challenge, and I really love it! I knew I was going to win, so that was my “power” mindset, but I also knew that it wasn’t going to happen in 1 or 2 hits.

Having a choice is great, but when that choice is going to affect everyone else as well, you have to look at the majority. The majority of people would like the option to return to lower levels to help friends or Guild members.

a lfg system would be bad I lost 50s in ac today. Myself lv 80 and 3 lv 35 and one lv 75 these guys were bad players did not follow marks didnt listen to walkthroughs but appart from that they could not do much dps. So i for one will no longer group with anything but 80s from now on; im sure alot of people feel the same way.

As I said in the original post this isn’t for hard core players or elitists, although it could be made to specify minimum level and number of times completed, to match similar level players.

AC is a freaking level 30 dungeon. A Hard one true, but if you have to be level 80 just to go into it, it is pointless allowing people to try at lvl 30.

My daughter would have been happy to go in at 30 and potentially get mauled just to see how it was. (not my play style but, hey she is tough and really good at games)

I intend on trying this when I reach level 30, but I am going to be asking for some Guild Members to help. She should really join a Guild, because that’s the whole point of the game. No match system will be able to predict how players are going to react when they go inside of the Dungeon. People are people, and a lot of people aren’t going to listen or try to strategize when going into a Dungeon. Instead, she should just join a Guild, introduce herself, and when she can talk in there, even if she’s roaming the map. That’s how it works. If she has time to play the game, she has to time to join a Guild – it only takes a few seconds.

And then, she doesn’t even need to make friends. Being in a Guild automatically gives you friends. Even the other members don’t know you, they will help you. She can just ask for help with a Dungeon, and guild members will help. Just a suggestion for her, personally.

Repeating Different Events?

Mimir.4690

Hey all!

I’m pretty much a newbie to GW2, but I’m keeping up with updates, threads, etc. hoping to get a better understanding of the whole game. Still have a lot of learning to do!

I am only a level 18 Norn Guardian, so I have a way to go. But, I have noticed that when I’m walking around the map that events will appear when I approach them. So, I do the event, lots of fun, etc… Well, the next day I go back to the area and the event reappears. Sometimes, I’ve done 6-7 events and I am not 100% sure if I completed that one… And then I tested it. It definitely appears a couple times, and I have a chance to receive a “Gold, Silver, or Bronze” each time.

Is this happening to anyone else, and if so… Is there anyway to get this to stop? I want to do as many events as possible, but I don’t want to miss any, or repeat one several times because I don’t remember if I had done it or not.

Hey all!

I may be the only one, but when I heard that Guild Wars 2 was going to allow you to have your own “Home Instance”, I immediately thought of something similar to what Skyrim offers. Unfortunately, that wasn’t exactly the case.

Inside the Home Instance, one of the houses could be assigned as your house. Maybe when you reach a certain level (level 10, 20, 30, etc.) you pay a fee and you can get certain decorations added in your house. Maybe services, like an extra storage, a personal tailoring station, etc. can be added for a fee as well once you reach a certain level, or a certain craftsmanship level.

This is just what I was expecting when I heard we were going to have our own home instances.

Any ideas?

I’m only at level 18, but I had been saving my materials and only casually collecting them. I just decided to sell them all, and I managed to make about 75s just in materials (not including any other random stuff I decided to sell as well). Not bad! It did make me breach my first gold. I didn’t realize making money was that easy.

Nonetheless, I still thing WP is flawed. The costs should be based off of the level of the map, not the level of the character. Some kind of cap should be made for long distant travels (such as 1s, or 75c each way).

The idea that the richer people should pay more is “okay” in theory… But I compare it to Pokemon. When you play Pokemon, regular Pokeballs cost the same throughout the game, no matter what level your Pokemon are at. However, the further you get, the more Pokeball options there are and the better they are. You pay a higher fee for the better Pokeballs. Just an example… I think that if you’re paying so much for travelling, there better be some kind of bonus, or perk. Maybe not a buff, but at the very least that what you’re paying is based on distance, not level.

This is a feature that I would never use. I would rather just create a new character. While I’m not sure that the storyline will change for the characters if you change the profession, there are different aspects of the profession that affect character creation. For example, for a Guardian you must select one of three items (two shoulder pads and one helmet) that represent something, while a Thief has something similar with a mask, a hood, and a headband. It may not affect future storylines, but it does change the character.

Otherwise, @asperbianca: In regards to the waypoints not costing money for those who complete the map, then maybe free waypoints within a map can be a bonus for reaching level 80? Or maybe for 100% world completion, which many people will not achieve. If you complete a map, then decrease the costs of Waypoints.

So far, I haven’t had issues with them. But, I imagine that if I wanted to help someone else, this would be frustrating.
