I intend to start upgrading my equip to ascended tomorrow and wanted to ask how I could do that the best way.
Here’s the problem. Ive got my Chiroptophobia with an energy and generousity Sigil on it. Back in the days when we had transmutation stones, Id just use one and copy the Upgrades and Skin onto the new weapon. But since I can’t use transmutation stones to transfer upgrades, do I have to Black-Lion-salvage my trusty sword and then use a transmutation charge to transfer the unlocked skin? Or do I use a Upgrade Extractor?
Thanks for the help
Or play fractals and get an ascended celestial set for free .-.
Never heard of this I have.
Tell me you have to.
Be with you may the force.
Spying is annoying but it mostly happens in TS. (And Anet can’t deal with TS issues) Anything out of it can be scouted as well.
The next time I see a bear flying towards me shot from a longbow Ill get a fit. Truly OP, can’t take it anymore :P
I run the superior generosity Sigil as well as an energy sigil on all of my weapon sets. The Prolongued fights the Mesmer usually gets into turns Condition transfer into a huge advantage up to the point where you intentionally enter an enemy poison field just so you can transfer the condition before the opponent heals.

The current state of the WvW Rank naming is composed of Bronze/Silver/Gold/Blablu and then of the actual military rank. But the order in which you earn them is kind of strange to me.
Bronze Legend —> Silver Assaulter --> … —> Silver Legend
Its strange how a Silver Assaulter is a lot higher then a Legend. This is because the military title part of the name is a lot more resonant then the prefix. “Knight” or “General” create a certain picture within my mind. To make the whole system more appealing for our imagination i suggest the following order.
Squire —> Bronze Squire --> Silver Squire —> Gold Squire --> Diamon Squire —> Knight
Any thoughts?
Now, do I want Dolyak tonic or weapon skins…
(already have fuzed gauntlets)
The Panda…?
But you’ll miss on the achievements, on random loot and on the comfortable proximity to the gauntlet..
(Hmm I guess we needed a mining patch all along so..)
With no reward for the time invested. You don’t kill bosses for the fun of it. You kill them for the reward at the end. Thats the way EVERY MMO works. I take it you enjoy farming all of your materials for a legendary and then give them away at the end? Same difference really.
Actually Im Making my legendary for over a year now spending 2-8 Gold at a time while getting my money by
- WvW roaming
- the jumping Puzzle
- doing LS
- twinking
- random dungeons
- a fractal once in a while
- selling mats from the Salvage-o-Tron
Im at 90% right now and It’ll be twice as epic when I finish it just because of the journey.
Don’t forget to use dodge food, such as Bowl of Orrian Truffle and Stew! It can mean the difference between life and death!

You really need to stop troll posting this in every thread…
Never Stop Please! XD
Miroe,
You’ve got it wrong mate.
First off, there aren’t enough people bothering to play. I just spent the last 30+ min trying to kill the adds for the stupid achievement. There’s not enough people playing to take down one boss let alone take ALL down at the same time. Further… from my understanding the reward for taking them down at once isn’t all that great either (for the time and effort involved).
We are going to play whats fun in this game. Hence why there’s no one in there killing the bosses. I highly doubt for your gigantic pedestal you’re putting yourself on that you’re in there doing anything?
To further your complaint about “breaking the economy”… I’d doubt SOME kind of reward is befitting those bosses and the time/energy/coordination to bring them down is going to “break the economy.” Apparently Anet is more worried about taking gold from players than giving us something for our time. The thing costs more in the way of gold to start than it gives back to the players.
I get its a “Rebuild Lion’s Arch” event… but not all of us are able to throw away gold at literally nothing. It reeks of “massive gold grab” from the players. This from a game that is already “grind-y” enough. Every patch that comes out it seems that its less and less give and more take.
Sorry you don’t feel the way the other 140+ of us in this thread do. You’re in the minority.
You’re right. 90% of these forums is complaining. And thats a good thing since a forum that exists to only carry up a hype is useless.
It just infuriates me how people are aggressively flaming the devs about how they should be ashamed of their game while they did a great job redesigning the bosses. I highly doubt that 90% of theses players are actually hating the game the way they display it in the forums.
The Boss blitz can be a thing of 10-15 Minutes if you do it right and the reward is okay – especially if you’re still doing the achievements. (and there are repeatable achievements)
Probably the LS is not designed to match the average CoF Zerker Keyboard smack. But hey, they didn’t take that out of the game either, so no reason to be afraid of losing any money that you’ll desperately need for the second incinerator on your asura thief.
It will take a while since the next part of the living world will probably blend into this one as it did with the last few patches.
And.. good god, what can you say against an event that combines the most beloved Patches from last year together and spices it with a lot of Living World Meta rewards from all of GW2.
Really? Yet another whine thread 12 hours after the release? Masses of free T6 Mats…
You want a broken economy? Because thats how you get a broken economy…
And you don’t have to make one huge zerg to farm through six bosses. This event challenges you to complete it quickly which means to split up into groups. Result:
1. Less Time consuming
2. Less Zergy (You can kill a boss with a 3 (wo)men group)
3 You can choose which boss you want to fight
The tokens we get have insane value. You can get fused Gauntlets for example which needed all flame and frost Achievements when it was first implemented. And if you want real good and valuable stuff, WvW season 2 ends soon which rewards you with multiple ascended weapons.
Why don’t you just play what is fun in this game. You really expected the devs to sit there in a meeting and go “Its time for a gold-patch where players can farm till they drop – that will improve our game!” This is another patch where they try to change our habit to do the content in an unchallenging, unfun zergy way even if we could do something different – just because we think its the more effective play style.
After Guild Wars 2 did everything to bring the players together, it now is forced to go into the other direction and split up the comfy zeros.
And there you go, banging your head against the same wall complaining about the wall being there as it is being torn down.
(edited by Miroe.2054)
She’s got nerfed the good way. Last time she brought me to the brink of desperation. Im kind of a stubborn player who doesn’t want to change his build until its really necessary. So after I gave up beating her with my Celestial Golemancer Mesmer with “take root” I bought zerker gear and beat her in five tries. this year it was two tries with the zerker gear.
Hey Anet, I really like to see how PvE in GW2 is evolving. You could even add something harder right now to raise the challenge while keeping the quality of the Queens Gauntlet. For now, the 8 orbs Liadri seems just fine for me. (Gambit Liadri needs achievements)
They have a lot of stuff in the fractals and Twilight assault. What really grinds my gears is the amount of grind they have to do for their exp. Its said that this is wanted by the chinese demographic.. but man… if there is just one person who feels differently, I pity that guy..
Can you find the Kirk-Facepalm Meme?
Very well made and thought through. The thing with the quaggans gave it away though.
We already know why the Six Gods ceased communication. It has nothing to do with the Elder Dragons.
Q: Are the Six [gods] really gone or not? Their power is still very much present. Players can call upon the gods’ power with prayers, NPC priests can summon Reapers of Grenth etc., and their statues are still stuffed with energy. So if they left, why are their power still here?
Jeff Grubb: The human gods still exist, and their power is still felt within Tyria. However, they have pulled back into the mists, leaving the humans to stand (or fall) on their own merits. There has been a tendency for the human gods to, um, meddle with their worshippers a bit much, and in the wake of the final battle of Abaddon, they have been trying to cut back. Also, the destruction of the big A and his replacement with Kormir in the Pantheon resolved one of their ties with physical contact with Tyria. So there are ties, but you just can’t ring them up to take on the Elder Dragons.
“Oh, we interfered a bit much in the past, maybe its better to just let them be killed” makes perfectly sense. I don’t say these are not reasons – I just think and hope there is more to it to be revealed.
The rest of your post, Miroe, is… interesting. But holds zero basis or support, really.
But I put my tinfoil hat on, how can you say such a mean thing?!
Totally gonna support an emote that purely supports provoking…
she uses Scarlet dye
I already made that joke. Boo! Get off the stage!
Wait heres another one… Fish have weird names right? … Trout! I mean.. weird, right?
Sorry bro, but where? Oh, dat first line?

Just because game design enables you to grief, doesnt mean that you are allowed to do it.
Hes not griefing the PvP match. He’s only griefing the duel. Strictly taken, the players dueling are leeching because they do not actively participate in the match. What are you trying here anyway?
I adjusted the bolded part in my original statement. People who participate in duels on a server marked as such arent leeching off other players because those players that went on that server to duel and/or watch duels. They dont go there for any rewards and made their intentions clear in the server description, so people that are interested in a regular pvp match dont join. For me, that falls under the category of any other form of PvP and if somebody goes in there just to grief those players, he risks a tempory or full ban, if those players report him for it.
I guess you’re right here. Its just that if you want to pvp with 3-5 people you have a certain risk to get on a standard server where people just bully you off because they set the rules there.
she uses Scarlet dye
Scarlet Briar returns because people started to forget her

If you feel that you are disadvantaged and you dislike that, you can always change your build. A second alternative is that you don’t have to duel. No one is suggesting that you must duel.
Thank you for your compassion, but I feel everybody will be disadvantaged if we let dueling enter a game that fundamentally rejects the principle. We should in no way let fun get in the way of coherence.
I just had a great idea!
Implement dueling! Make it so you have to pay 500 gems or 250 gold (depending on the gem-gold conversion) per invite regardless if it’s accepted or not and you can duel with that person for 1 hour.
Dueling is neither a quality of life feature nor an important mechanic in the game. It would create more toxicity, a lot more work for the devs and will probably split the community, so people should pay for it. I’ll have people that wanna spam chat and duel me pay with their wallets or gold for annoying me
This is gonna blow your mind: People already challenge each other to go to sPvP and duel them. Yes, dueling is a way to show off, but Miniatures are as well. Have you ever been asked “Hey Dude, show me your best Miniature if you dare and then lets compare”
Its gonna be way more easy to “Hey see how I get 25 vuln on my enemy in just 3 seconds” instead of “Hey, come out the town to this bee, im gonna show you something”
I think dueling would completely destroy this game. Its good to have the 10vs10 sPvP arenas available. Even there I often get into situations where I encounter a single enemy and I have no backup an and I freeze in panic as the game is about to break into pieces since its not balanced for 1v1. But it always turns into 1v2 or 1v3 at some point and since the game is way better balanced for that the world is whole again.
I don’t understand how dueling will destroy the game. Can you explain further on that?
All I see is how you think about 10v10 arenas.
Because whenever two players meet randomly and try to fight each other, the game collapses for the lack of 1v1 balance. So I try to mitigate wherever I can or run away. First thing that happens to me in a duel is, my cool downs grow longer and longer, then I have to keep myself from jumping because gravity seems to have deactivated and I would just fly off the map. Sometimes my character starts to speak with Trahearnes voice. And then the game crashes because of sheer unbalancedness with a loud buzzing noise.
Id say, the prices for blue colors will skyrocket since you get a unidentified dye for every double color you have for your account which makes a whole lot unidentified dyes if you have 100+ colors on each of your 8 alts. then the prices for unidentified dyes will drop drastically because of all the people who bought the blue colors and thought they could sell it for 10s each. And then the price will stabilize a little lower then it is now – because the need for colors is a lot smaller.

I came up with an idea a few days ago. Its called TWS “Tactical-Warfare-Simulator” You can start it over your Friends or Ignore List and its basically a race for which player stacks the largest Zerg inside a tiny claim circle in 2 Minutes. The one with the bigger zerg wins and the whole zerg gets a random number of “Tactical-Warfare-Medals” (between 1 and 17) which can be traded in for a “Mini-Skinner-Box” (for 1000 Medals), a Crude Salvage Kit (10 Medals) and a number of Exotic recipes with the new infamous Power /Power/Power- Stat combination for more variety.

hahaha really want to look into the mind of the community manager regarding this thread.
“is it offensive?… is it not?… its a discussion… but its offensive… but people notice and discuss… shut it down? Not? Yes?”
I think the question is wether the writers have an agenda using two homosexual relationships or wether they are just telling us a interesting story. And I guess both is true – Games are art and a way for the writers to project questions and thoughts. People have to decide for themselves wether they want to take part in a world that has creators who have agendas about certain aspects of our society. For me that answer is clearly YES because GW2 is a great game.
Yet how homosexuality is addressed here is quiet clumsy. Just putting two homosexual couples into the game and then showing how natural this is for everyone in Tyria looks like making an example. “Here, thats how you should feel like and react to gay people! See how modern Tyria is.” This on one side is an attempt to give us a world that is better then reality to give us role models we can orient towards and thats a good thing.
The issue starts where these couples become a major focus. Keeping up this blunt approach seems a bit insensitive to me. Great homosexual relationships in real life shine by showing how they deal with an alienated society that has hundreds of years of fixed role models behind them.
Just being oblivious about the people that have an issue with the subject is unfair towards the people that are in that corner as well as towards those who have to deal with prejudice. but maybe the story is just about a world that has nothing to do with ours in that regard and then we can just go on but that would waste a great opportunity to show us an aspect of humanity that is little discovered.
And just to make it clear, Yes, I still look across the coffee bar when I see a gay couple and yes, I am well aware that our society will naturally evolve and incorporate the idea of same sex relationships like it did with female emancipation and put a way with apartheid. There is no transformation if the hero comes from nowhere. I just love to see the ambivalence in things and seeing things treated one-sided hurts me in a way.

Ill make this short. My theory is, that in Tyria a sentient being is created out of multiple layers. First the body, then a construct in the mists and then it goes deeper down the rabbit hole. There goes the soul and stuff..
What that thing in the mists might be? id say it is a chaos beast – the six-eyed thing with the black cloud as a body. Why? Two reasons.
First, Skritt who are turned “Inside out” by chaos shards become chaos beasts as if that thing had been inside of them before. The chaos shards were created during the Thaumanova collapse that tear the fabric of the world apart thus showing us stuff that has before been hidden in the mists.
The second, more apparent argument is, that necromancers can summon chaos beasts. Necromancers have never been aligned with chaos magic, thats mesmers – the only thing Necromancers do, is animate necrotic fabric – the stuff people are made of.
What do you think? What would Aatxes be then? And the shadow Behemoth? What spirit would be that powerful?
Awesome Theory!! I think its less explanatory in the case of sylvari and more interesting if we look at corruption and what it is. See, the green-stone dwarves ARE corrupted, yet their state is somehow a counterpart of the dragon corruption. The great destroyer has a counterpart, maybe Primordus has one too. Maybe all the dragons are just one side of the Equation – The Alchemy has just been thrown out of balance somehow.. May be connected with the disappearance of the gods.
When Snaff entered the dragons Mind he only found greed and anger. So prepare for tinfoil hat mode. TRANSFORM!!! My theory is, that whenever a Mage uses a spell, he connects his mind to a elemental force in the mists in order to get the according elemental energy. But he doesn’t only take something, he does also give something back – a part of himself – a photograph of his mental and emotional state. But if magic is only used in warfare, in hate, like in the guild wars, the hate and anger gathers in the mists and when the dragons awaken, to bring back order to the magic of the world, they are filled with fury and hate, becoming the destructive forces we see right now.
But the Sylvari are different. Green magic has seldom been used. Druid used it but kept their magic secret. There was no GW1 class using green earth and plant magic. Rangers use it sometimes but they mainly focus on their weapons. There also are only 5 known blood stones. Maybe this green energy might have been protected by the gods by hiding it in another blood stone they kept away from the humans and their greed.
With only druids using the magic, and a whole village of pacifists tendering the pale tree, reverse corruption might have happened, influencing the green energy in the mists. With this new, positive energy flooding through the magic of the world, the sylvari grew amongst their hostile friends, the iboga, the aloe and the thornlings. Of course some of the sylvari felt there was still more then just love and still turned to the dark side.
How the dragons should be tied to all of this – I have no idea. They seem to be more of a pure black thing of pure negativity – maybe thats their purpose, to gather the hate inside themselves and then calm it down as they sleep.
If this turned out to be just partially true, it would mean, the people of Tyria need to use magic more responsibly, and start using magic in a way to help each other in everyday life. Like summoning elementals that do their work or guard their village… oh.. wait..
Would be cool, just to find some arguments that magic and emotions are tied together – especially because in Tyria everything seems to be made of magic.
Yea.. I know… random theory in the face, right?
Troll Swap
Whenever you are hit by an attack, if you have at least 1 clone, switch position with a random clone. The clone dies after the swap.
Sylvari have “Take root” which gives your opponent 9 Targets to sort out.
Asura / Charr / Norn have weird/wooden attack animations on the GS. Humans are bland in comparison to the other Races. SYLVARI ALL THE WAY!!!
Sounds completely absurd. I like it
It was the three orders joined with the lion guard that defended and took back LA. And it was a pact member that unveiled Scarlets plans and killed her in the end…
You can make anything look manly, if thats an essential point for you.
Here my main sylvari mesmer with a dress and a mask.
Tipp: If you don’t like don’t like the way your clones explode, take the “crippling dissipation” V Domination Trait.
I’d say lets mind control them with inquest technology and then force them to fight at the front rows in the battle against Mordremoth.
Because.. you know.. We are not the Heroes that Tyria deservers, but the ones it needs right now.. or.. wait.. we are the heroes, that Tyria wants, but not the ones it deserves… who its supposed to be looking for, but not who it finds in the end? Not the wrong ones, but not the right ones either? Nah… its complicated…
One of my husband’s toons is a mesmer, but made it a woman due to the feminine butterfly effects it has.
Your husband just wants to play a female character now and then.. its not about the butterflies
If we did this, we also needed golden sparkles on female warriors and green humming birds for female necromancers and Unicorn effect for female Rangers. I don’t know… I like my fabulous Sylvari Mesmer and its good that we are able to play as an elegant man just as we are able to play a tough woman. And to distinguish between a male and a female fireball would be awkward.
I’d be up for seeing racially oriented effects for Mesmers. Humans with butterflies, Norn with Ravens, Charr with Cogs, Asura with Crystals, and Sylvari with Leaves.
Race/Class specific content would be awesome. We really need more feedback on our our character decisions so we know we created a specific thing with our char. Imagine to have one specific weapon skin for each race/class combination that you get at the end of you personal story:
- A light saber as Asura Warrior
- A giant, rotating thorn-Gear for Sylvari Engineers
- A staff with an illusionary Raven that sits on the top for Norn Mesmers
- A dark Diamond Dagger for Human Thiefs
- Ghostbuster Hammer with screeching effect for Charr Guardians
Something in that direction

What if we had a non-love yet love related relationship. Two interaction characters whose conflict focuses on a certain aspect of love or affection that would end up in an unsolved, immoral dilemma or answered such a question.
A question like: “What do we owe each other. And what do we owe our relationship or friendship? And who’s to say?”
So how do we all rate the end of LS season 1
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

thanks for the outdated sexist stereotyping I guess.
Sexism isn’t outdated. And the post is a troll.. read it to the end or click the link. But what of a troll am I if I explain this anyway.. ^^
Umm.. higher levers don’t have to mean Gear progression. What if the top gear was still lvl80?
Top Runes: lvl 70
Top Gear: lvl 80
Trait Cap: lvl90
Supplementary Class: lvl 100

Jory and Kas are still worlds above anything Bioware has ever written
No, it’s not… And Portal has way better puzzles than GW2 as well. Man, where are these expectations coming from? Compare it to Thrall and his wife in WoW. It definitely IS better than that.
But… …but then we get moar trait points…
No, srsly… Anet once wanted to add prestige levels so you can run around in LA with you’d lvl 19300 Character while your level in the hostile zones gets scaled down to at least 80. But they didn’t add this. Why? One answer would be, because it stands in the way of a new level cap. na,
Next Stop: 1 Year Maguuma Jungle – What do you wanna find there?
for me:
1. Big, colorful Exotic, Feathery, Leafy Masks
2. A Husk Rune
3. Ronans Cave Dungeon with leafy dungeon Armor
4. Advanced Weapon knowledge for all classes to unlock
5. Maguum leveling Zones 80-90
6. Really Hard Skill challenges à la Jubilee with multiple skill points
7. More Plant Elementals
8. Bloodstone Fen Dungeon and Dungeon Armor
9. More ways to get ascended
10. More Legendary weapons
I bet we get Zojja & Rox or Jenna & Anise
Did you see her Body in the end? The Orange stripes? Either it was already decomposing OR her death allowed Mordremoth to corrupt her or take over her body in some way.
They didn’t take her corpse with them so… its all open…
Its the helmet from the recent event, Medium Magitech Armor chest part and shoes and currently unavailable gloves and Shoulders. And an Aetherized Rifle.
