Allowing access to Celestial Avatar before bar is full is reaaaaly bad idea. You didn’t consider other skills/traits designed around CA such as Druidic Clarity and Celestial Shadow, which would become super OP unless they are changed. And adding ICD to these skill would be clunky since I wouldn’t know when the skills are off CD to cleanse conditions/break stun. So simply no.

Incrased gain of astral force from damage ain’t competely bad idea, but I don’t see this so necessary. Gaining astral force from regen is very easy as ranger has great access to regen through various utility skills and traits. Even with offensive amulets you are able to charge CA every 10sec or close to that. It simply sounds fair to me, that ranger have to sacrifice some utility skills and/or traits to charge CA faster or chose differenty for the price of charging CA slowly. We simply shouldn’t have everything.

Not sure if you are really that stupid to compare 2 skills of diferent classes. Your comparison is the most ridiculous you ever could pick. Comparing a weapon with only one damaging skill out of 5 with staff with 20 skills.

The forum is lately flooded with such nonsence stuff that it starts to be really annoying already.

Again people complaining about something they have absolutely no clue about. It trully looks OP on the paper, but the reality is different. You will barelly, I am not afraid to say never, manage to root your oponent every 10 sec, if you are lucky you can do that every 20sec. As for me, you can increase the cd to 20 or even 30sec with the condition that it will actually work as intended. Which means work on daze, push backs, knock downs. Curently it basically doesn’t work while being disabled by these, just for the complainers.

You shouldn’t get dishonor if you manage to get back in in certain time window, which is 60sec I believe, not sure though.

Let me explain. Powercreep doesn’t actually have anything to do with the power stat, as in, damage. Powercreep refers to an increased effectiveness of anything. For example: higher damage, more condis, shorter cooldowns, more boons, more dodges, more cc, etc.

I got you now. Still don’t understand how the meaning of the word relates with it though :-). But I have to agree with you in this case. The actual skill of players is being literally repressed by spamming of skills. No clue why Anet prefers this kind of PvP, but we are all in the same possition in the end.

But all I wanted to say is that the balance is very fragile. And even lots of you will say the balance is non existing, I think the balance is in a very very good possition and we should be really careful when it comes to demanding of nerfs.

What is actually all about the ranger persecution lately? I see a lot of complains on everything across the ranger class, pets, traits, skill and utility skills. Ppl even complaining about stuff which where here for some time already, they didn’t complain before, but they complain now.

Ranger is my main and I would even agree with some nerfs, e.g. "search and rescuse " seems to be more broken then “protect me”. You ppl posting all the benefits, but never the conditions under which the skill is actually working. Ranger got a lot of issues as well, you can’t simply nerf everything on ranger just because you think it’s op. You should play ranger first some time to see what is working how and when and then bring some construktive changes instead of " NERF NERF NERF ".

Be reasonable people !!!

He is right. Almost every single class, even non HoT ones, are overpowered to disgusting levels. Contrary to popular belief, having everyone being OP doesn’t make the game competitve ad fun. The powercreep is the main problem this game faces.

Ok, then he should talk about nerfs in general.

But anyway, idk what is this powercreep bullkitten you guys talking about over and over again. The last meta was increadibly bunker. You saying everyone having too much power, but I can’t see ppl being one or two hited. Mostly I even see duels which takes too long or are endless even despite both oponents using offensive amulets. There is no problem with power in this game at all.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that those pets are better than all other pets. Clear imbalance.

The bigger problem of this game is not just imbalance. It is the powercreep that completely makes it a spamfest. Start nerfing things now. I know short-sighted ppl like you will be unhappy about nerfs. But in the long run, it benefits everyone who wants to enjoy the game.

Also, I play a lot of rangers myself as well. In this era, all meta builds are super easy to play at a decent level. Claiming other ppl don’t understand how to beat a certain class is ignorant and stupid.

I clearly said the pets should be nerfed. You said not only pets but the ranger itself should be nerfed. I again ask you to bring something on the table, you only saying it should be nerfed, but how? What is so op according you? Also I even admited in the posts before, that something about rangers should be nerfed so there you go with your nonsence answer. The only one stupid is you here seriously, either bring some concrete stuff or better don’t post at all. Also I seriously doubt that you actually know smth about pvp and balance in general.

a well played druid can proc ancient seeds pretty much on cooldown even if its bugged I found it to proc it regularly and I’m not a good ranger. then just press f2 and maul and gg..

the seeds well its just way too rewarding somewhat needs to change there.. I see the 2s proc time is there but still then it heals, cures 2 condis and blinds.. sure you can walk around but it takes some time which you really dont have against a druid,,
if they nerf the pet damage idk maybe that gives you the time and its no nerf necessary.

Ancient seeds trait works best with nr4 skill of longbow. This is limited with the lbow skill cd, but its really working well. It’s working with greatsword as you mentioned, but basically only if you manage to stun your enemy, which means hitting him from behind. Any daze skill is basically not working unless the enemy actually stay on place, glyph of the tides is not working either. Using it together with your pet knock down is very hard as you have no intel about the pet skill cds. Also it sumoons roots which immobilize you and the roots are like 2hited by any mele weapon. But frankly, no problem here with me to make the cd 15sec.

About verdant etching, it’s true that it probably offers too much for too low efford. Healing, cleansing and blinding. I would even agree here that blinding should be removed from it.

I main ranger so let me argue here a bit.

First, I have to agree that the pet dmg is absurd. Specially bristleback “F2”. Having the greatest burst in your pet is just bad idea. I agree here with the nerf needed, however to compensate the lack of burst (basically ranger doesn’t have any atm) some weapon skills need to be changed. As for me I would leave pet only as a supporter with zero dmg output.

Glyph planting a seed, I don’t see a problem here. Seed needs to be plant first and it takes some time until it blossoms and also the effective radius is very small. Just move away to avoid it, easy as that. You also don’t stay in thief’s black powder do you?

Ancient seeds trait is still buged and is not working with most of ranger’s CCs. Increase the cd when it’s working properly.

This Style guy is perfect example how the pvp community is toxic. I got to legendary division as solo queuer, I mean I couldn’t lose all the matches when I got there right? Ppl still flame me each time when I am on thief before the game even started. Blaming me for their every fail and every death. And when we win, there are no words of appologize, they just say “you got carried”. I stoped counting how many times I was insulted just for being on thief no mater how well i am performing. I learned to ignore those kind of ppl, still they should grow up really.

I never liked to be a part of the herd and follow the “meta”, always thereocrafting my own builds and for that I am even target of insults even before the game starts, just because ppl see I use different weapon sets or different utility than they used to see. Majority of the PvP community just goes the easy way and copy a build they see someone in ESL is using, but already not thinking about how the build fits to their playstyle, what role it plays in that certain match and how to use it for the team to be the most profitable. Blindly following somebody else’s build is also, besides others, reason why PvP is a bit boring and monotone.

As for now I think the system punishes more “innocent” players, who got random disconnects or their game crashes, than ppl who are “afk” on purpose. Got plenty of games with ppl just staying at spawn hitting a key now and then just to not be kicked but having no intention to play, causing the team losing 2-3pips and laughing about that.

Such ppl were even reported countless of times yet they are still around.

Diamond skin is broken and should be adjusted. No passive skill/trait should hardcounter whole build. It’s like ranger’s bark skin would give imunity to direct dmg when agove 90% health. Cause why not right? Bring condi and stop crying? Ofc not, that would be broken same as diamond skin.

Well, other classes have to time their skills to mitigate enemy dmg, use dodge in right time to avoide burst, use stability in right moment to not be pushed out of point or time their burst to get enemy down. But you, chronobunker? It doesn’t even require to watch your oponent or read their movements, predict what they will do. The only think you are doing is spamming evade and blocking skills and trying to keep the stability up while there is cd window.

Man seriously, if I create a macro with this skill rotation, it could hold a point against anyone while i am doing coffee

There is easy fix for all this bunker meta. All skills which give any kind of invulnerability should prevent capture point contribution.

Extremely boring to watch the matches. No progress anywhere on the map, no kills, just bunker fights with anyone barely going down. Sorry, but ain’t this painful even for the players themself? Does ever anyone like the current state of PvP and the bunker mesmer-revenant meta?

100% agree with OP. The current PvP is becoming very stereotype. I keep fighting the same few classes with the very same build over and over again. I can’t even remember when the last time I fought thief or warrior. I can’t even blame the ppl, cause the HoT release and now the league forcing ppl to use the best possible classes and builds. And frankly, I do the same. I don’t like the build I am using on my main class, but I don’t dare to play anything else to ruin the game for others and lose pips. It’s somehow entertaining for me to be progressing in the league, but the PvP itself is less entertaining than ever before. ( my point of view though)

Would like to ask devs to check Ancient Seeds trait and it’s usage together with glyphs. Glyph of the tides doesn’t work at all, since you basically push your enemy off the roots instantly. And Glyph of equality seems to be working only when your target is not moving. When it’s moving, the roots spawn, but totally miss the enemy’s possition. The trait seems to be really lackluster.

I believe this is not working as intended, if you could make it working, then you perhpas should increase the cd in the same time. Beeing rooted every 10sec for 5 sec is kinda OP even tho you can always cleanse/destroy it.

Since Druid is the only real healer in the game, it sounds fair to me that it does the bunker job the best in game.
You ppl shouldn’t forget, that it’s always something for something. Full bunker Druid does literally no damage. It’s good only on capped point since it can’t cap anything on it’s own. Besides, bring any CC which can push Druid out of point and decap it to make the Druid absolutely useless.

The OPness of d/d eles is and always was in the healing possibilities. With not even bunker build they are able to outheal full zerker builds, which is silly. The damage nerf wasnt really needed if they nerfed the healing.

They can disagree as they want, but besides 2stacks of poison for 6sec every 15sec it doesn’t have any other dmging condition.

Don’t get ne wrong, I use sword on my condi build as well and it’s one of the best builds in game in general. But the usefullnes is together with any of the real condi off-hand weapons.

Now tell me how many ppl use sword with zerker build. And it’s not like sword does low dmg, the dps is the best ranger has. (talking more about pvp than pve though)

Sword is one of best dps weapons ranger has, sadly it can hardly be used with dps build. While using sword with dps build it is crucial for ranger to perfectly time their dodges and position themself flawlessly. And exactly this the sword autoattack doesn’t allow.

Just an easy example. With warrior and sword in main hand I can dance around longbow ranger being always behind his back and the ranger not being able to ever land a hit on me. Impossible to do smth similiar with ranger sword rooting you with autoattack.

Sword works fine with tanker codni builds where it doesn’t hurt you that much if you misstime your dodges and recieve some damage. But sword is not really condi weapon, sadly.

There’s always a funny aspect to all that “Burn OP OMG” treads:
If Burn is OP how can you survive to 54k of Burn Damage????

The problem is not the amount of damage but the time that damage need to kill you.
If you survived to 54k of burn is why you used all your healing skills, more than once, and someone else healed you. )or you’re a iper bunker necromancer with a insane amount of HP and LF + heal.

When a dps guardian burst you, you can’t read 40k of XXXskill why that guardian will kill you fast, leaving you not so much time to heal all the damage dealt.

In that image the thief survived to 54k of burn, 10k of bleed, 4k of poison and 6k of the ele skill + a large amount of damage dealt by other random skills.

A thief more or less have 16k of HP, right?

Then how can that burn is OP if it dealt you enough damage to kill you more than 3 times and you’re still alive?

The thief is really weak against conditions, we all know, but if Burn is strong like you say, how can you be able to survive to 3 times your life, only of Burn damage?

If you fight a dps guardian you recive lesser numerical damage bur you die quickly. 16-20k and you’re dead. Not so much time to survive like you have 3 lives (and much more if you add bleed, poison, and the other skills).

Seriously, me and one of my friend that play both dps and burn guardian can simply say that Burn deal a very high damage but direct damage kill so much better and frequently inflict so much more damage. But it’s lower than what you can read why you die before the damage reach the 54k!

Please, don’t look at that screnshots, they’re useless, futile and misleading.

If you can survive to 54k of Burn damage (+ a lot of different conditions and direct damage) as a thief in a XvsX team fight, the Burn damage is NOT OP.

You sure considered downed state with tripple the hp right? So thief actually get smth around 50k hp in real before it’s death.

The problem here wouldn’t be the burning dmg itself but the reapply possibility of some builds and the number of stacks.

First of all let’s call things real name, druid is pure healer since it does nothing else but healing. I personally think, that ranger already bring enough healing and perma regen for allies, you come with even more healing. Hmm, at first look it might be really cool since no other proffession has such role, so shall druid be finally usefull in something? Let’s predict it in each ascect of the game.

PvE:
Hardly usefull, ppl tend to do stuff as fast as possible, they barely look for supporter for what would they use pure healer? Also who cares about dying? Just respawn and come back again, just do as much dmg as you can. That’s the mentality of current PvE, so healer is mostlikely doomed.

PvP:
Could be good, but after few games I realized that support guardian can fulfill the role a bit better with less healing but more support skills and boons to allies which are simply better overall. The Avatar should offer more then just healing. Less healing and more support skills – protection, rezistance, stability.

WvW:
The most potencial it could have for WvW. But then again, with no other support boons specially stability I am afraid it can’t replace guardian in any way. Also staff nr1 skill should be aoe.

So in general good idea, but doomed by the game absolutely not needing pure healer. Maybe HoT will change it, but I honnestly doubt so.

Immobilize can't be cured

If you are immobilize when jumping or while being not on the groud in general (falling, jumping), immobilize can’t be cured. Further more, none skill can be used to cleanse it or break immobilize.

It also doesn’t work with diamond skin ele (if he’s above hp threshold) and berserker’s stance on warr. Since taunt is now technically a condi. You also don’t need to stun break it if you’re on ele. Just cleanse it.

Taunt never was condition, no clue where did you come to this. Taunt always was control efect skill.
" Taunt is a control effect that forces the affected target to run towards the source of taunt with all skills except stun breakers disabled while using their auto-attack skill."

I see, in that case there should be some list of skills which taunt goes over and it shoudln’t. So far it seems, that evade skills don’t work agaisnt taunt? Can that be?

I didn’t really test it, but I am honnestly certain that I dodged taunt and taunt doesn’t work against shield blocking skills, renewed focus, obsidian flesh and similiar skills.

But you are not supposed to change target while the taunt efect lasts (2secs). It’s like any other CC, eg warrior can knock you down for 2 sec. = you are CCed for 2 secs unless you use stunbreaker, easy as that. After 2 secs you shouldnt have problem to switch target.

OMG, there is new skill in game and I have no clue how it works and I don’t know how to counter it, it must be OP !!!!

Seriously what about you to go just learn something about the skill before actually showing on forum how lack of skill you actually are?

And just btw, taunt doesn’t go through stability, invulnerability nor blocks and it CAN BE evaded. So pls ….

Also taunt is hardly the opossite of fear since fear is condition while taunt control efect skill.

Further more, taunt works against the ranger while he is using ranged pets, pets which using ranged F2 skills or pets giving boons as taunt has limited radius of effectivenes.

Did you consider that conditions can be completely cured? You can’t do that with direct damage. High hp is already good condi counter.

In general:
small scale battles – condi builds > dps builds
larger battles – dps builds > condi builds

You can’t be really demanding such big change into the game just because your dps build having no access to condi cleanse.

Mesmers:
I can counter them with condi ranger pretty well. It’s mostly about surviving/dodging their 1st burst which is predictable. After all, the best defence is the knowledge of the enemy class and watching his/her movemont and predict. Not many times I am losing duel against mesmer with condi build.
Any build lacking defence/survibility will have hard times to counter mesmer.

Ele
Again with condi ranger build you shouldn’t have problem to die to ele. Problem will be to kill that ele, specially if that ele running diamond skin the duel will be endless mostlikely. Majority of eles using celestial amulet which offers mediocre dmg and good surviving, if they face similiar build the duel is very opened.

Rampage
Since ranger got acces to many dodge skills, it’s enough to just watch the warrior and dodge his attacks, rampage skills are very readable and easy to dodge.

note: Since the patch I focused on playing ranger and make build which would adapt to current situation. So my opinions are from ranger view.

I believe everybuild and class can be countered, there is no build or class which would rule over everything.

Beyond Rampage: Warriors in the Meta

Before the patch I had fun playing warrior, after patch I don’t see reason to play warrior just for one elite skill once every 3 mins. I still would nerf rampage though.

Warrior atm is in good condition, it’s just outplayed by mesmers, which burst does double the dmg warrior does, in half of the time. And they sure can burst you way more often then once every 3 mins. Rampage compensates the lack of dps compared to mesmers. But after all, it’s still not fun to be dependant on only 1 skill with 180sec cd.

It’s always funny that some people have this self-righteousness of believing they’re one of those very few “special individuals” who knows how things work, while other 5 millions players and those top 100 individuals clearly have no idea of how things work.

Seriously, stop assuming other people, even the top players, are all idiots, and you’re the only one who knows how things work. Usually people who hold this idea have very limiting view point, and live in their little world of low tier competitive scene.

Their famous quote is always: “Most players don’t know bleh bleh bleh, I’m the only one that know how to make it work. I’m the only good player here, while other people are just bad because I have success in my low tier competition.”

Maybe you are right and maybe you are one of those who just see some “metabuilds” and that’s everything you know. I just said my opinion, if you want to prove me wrong you can always ask me in arena instead of being just forum warrior.

Ranger is really in good possition atm, it is comparable to d/d ele, even tho I think ranger can even offer more support to allies. And that’s all my opinion, thanks for respecting that. But hey, if you make anet to buff ranger I won’t cry, ranger is my mine.

Maybe because the players simply doesn’t believe to rangers or they are just bad playing it. I will still repeat it. Ranger is one of the best classes according me. Most ppl just having no clue how to use it.

I am not gonna argue with you or with anyone about how to play pvp. As for me the most important factor in pvp is 1v1 anyway, since in 3 points game you mostlikely fight on 2 nodes 1v1.

But back to ranger. I can’t see what other classes have while ranger doesn’t. Ranger can support your teams as any other class or even better, while still be one of the best 1v1 class.

Reading all the negatives about ranger, if anet would just buff ranger I would feel so op. It’s possible that you guys never played against solid ranger with proper build. As for me, I think ranger is in very solid place atm.

A – mes, ele, ranger
B+ – guard, necro, thief
B- – engi, war

Each time I am teleported to pvp match map I need to retrait ambidexterity to be working. The reduced recharge is working normaly, while the passive buff of 150 condition damage is not working and it has to be retraited.

I think it heals, but for sure not every second, but rather every 3 sec

Swoop not affected by tho-handed training = 20% reduced recharge. The skill info says 9&1/2sec but after executing it counts from 12 !!!.

Please, just remove necro from the game

THere are reasons why Mesmers, Necros and Rangers are not reprensented in top tier…

The reason is, that there are no good players participating the tournaments with these proffesions? Can’t think about any other. From all classes I have played I find ranger one of the best. It has good suistaine, good dps, provides various buffs, provides condi removals, good in team fights, excel in 1v1. But that can be pretty much said about every class, in good hands and with right build every class is viable even in so called “top tier”.

What a wall of useless posts. There is no easy class. There are easier builds to play and difficult builds to play, every class have them.

In general, tanky builds are easier since you are allowed to make mistakes while playing it, full dps builds are harder to play since bad skill rotation, timing or bad skill usage might be crucial for you.

DPS builds are more fun to play imo.
