The PvP ranking has nothing to do with your actuall skill. It’s just all about luck whether you get decent players as your team mates or not. Mostlikely the game will try to force you into 50/50 so one match easy with decent team mates and the next one blowout with uncarryable team.

What you can do is get a decent duo partner so you can influence the RNG a bit, solo you have almost no chance to carry whole team. So again, the current ranking shows some weird numbers which for sure don’t reflect your skill

With no investment into healing power warrior can easily reach the top healing from the team. Using the most offensive amulet and reaching the top healing in the same time is just stupid designe.

I remember when ANET nerfed Surge of the Mists (nr5 skill of Revenants staff) saying the skill provides too much at once: evade, CC and dmg. Well …. the burst skills of warrior provide just as much or even more: dmg, condi cleanse, adrenal healt and eventually also CC. It also can be basically spammed unlike Surge of the Mists.

I solo queued on my alt last season and went 10-0 in placements and ended up 2k rating, after that i went to like 2050~ and started fooling around with random builds. I have nothing to prove, someone asked for the game history and i posted it. I will not solo queue as long as duo exists

I do not question your skill. I think we all know, you are probably the best thief in game. What I am pointing out is, that achieving such result and keep performing that well while solo queueing only, is nearly impossible. Maybe it’s just me not being able to keep 90% win rate while solo queueing, but than I would pay for to see top player trying to do it and hit the top rank at the end of the seasson.

Well, try to achieve this by solo queuing. A single person can’t simple carry whole team. Duo can make already difference especially when you queue only with ppl like Misha.

My 1st 13matches I played solo only and my score was 3:10. Then I started to play with my duo partner only and suddenly my score of the next 17 matches is 15:2.

So basically, if I want to care about the placement in leaderboard I have no other option but duo queueing. Also you see how stupid all this ranking system is, it all depends on your team performance rather your personal performance. So what does my skill rating says? It has nothing to do with my personal skill at all, it shows the average performance of my teams in the games I played.

That kill count is insanely low for that amount of damage. 14 kills is generally like 250k-300k damage at max, if an ele is present.

Hell anything over 400k damage is generally 20+ kills, and to manage having that sort of kills and damage requires no deaths. You have 750k damage and only 14 kills and a death.

I haven’t touched 500k damage since pre s4.

You damage suggests like 30 kills at least bro.

Well, think about killing Tempest+Druid duo. How much dmg you think it takes to kill them with their healing capabilities? I am pretty sure it is way more then the average 20k dmg per kill you counted. Are you trying to accuse me of posting fake ss?

Afaik, the dmg output calculation (after the patch from 13/12/2016) counts only dmg to alive players.

Personal score has been removed from structured PvP games, and stats have been condensed into a more meaningful Top Stat system:
At the end of a game, players who perform well in a particular area will be given the corresponding icon beside their name on the scoreboard, which is visible to all players in that match.
Damage: Total outgoing damage to alive enemy players.
Healing: Total healing given to yourself and allied players.
Kills: Number of player kills and kill assists.
Revives: Number of allied player revives.
Deaths: Number of deaths. (A top stat is not awarded for deaths.)
Defense (Conquest): Number of ticks spent in combat near a friendly captured point.
Offense (Conquest): Number of ticks spent capturing or being in combat near enemy and neutral capture points.
Defense (Stronghold): Total number of mercenaries killed and trebuchets repaired.
Offense (Stronghold): Total number of defenders killed and supply spent.

From before this patch I managed to do 1,5kk+ dmg with my Rev. Can provide screenshot later. Rev is capable of incredible high burst dmg, you just have to play really aggressive.

Pulmonary Impact is broken skill no doubts about that. Everyone who says opposite either knows nothing about the game or mains a thief.

The only balanced class at this moment remains Revenant, all other professions should be balanced around Revenant.

Top players facing mainly lower lvl players, even those out of top 250, and easily farm the skill rating. If the system would be fair as Anet announced, then top 100 would play against each other 90% of the time resulting the top 100 would change constantly as players maintain their lose/win streak.

Easy example, if you got 100 players in a basket and they would play only against each other, half of them would have >50% win/lose ratio and the other half <50% win/lose ratio. Does this happen in this league? NO, cause top players playing mainly against lower lvl players farming the rating.

So… Helseth, prove me wrong and show us you face top 100 players most of the time

If you are serious then I would crown you as a troll of the year. Warrior, condi mesmer and medi/trap DH are the cheapest builds/classes currently in the game.

Only Anet believes that the matchmaking is working just fine :-).

I would have a question for them. I was watching stream of the top players lately. If the game tries to give you as fair match as possible, how come the top players barely face each other? Most of the time they face players who are not even in top 250. I ask why? How would you justify this to be fair? So the top players just steamrolling lower lvl players and gain their easy rank points? Why not to put them against each other to see who is actually the best?

Matchmaking will be better they said. You will be matched with and against ppl with similiar skill rating they said. I don’t know how being matched with a guy with 300 less rating points is a definition of better MM. Cba this season

What I find broken on war is how easily can be burst charged and also that burst skill can be used up to 4times durring single berserk mode and each use (hit) activates t3 adrenal health.

As for me charging burst should need 50% more adrenalin and berserk mode should last half the time.

Neither. This is how MMR works. The more accurate it gets, the less it moves.

But ain’t this contraproductive? I mean, how you want to motivate ppl to play when they can’t progress? I for example had 6 games win streak and for each next win I got less and less points, shouldn’t it be opposite that players get actually rewarded for the win streak?

Also, yesterday I had a match against Helseth for example, which is basically top 10 and my team won, still I got only 20 rank points. So even against the highest ranked ppl the points gain is very low. With this ratio I would have to beat the top ppl like 10 times in row ( or even more since the point gain would be less and less for each next win) to reach their rank. Not even saying that the game doesn’t even give me the oportunity that often to play against the top players (even I am not that far behind, currently rank 70)

If you win 10 matches in a row versus low MMR players you will have a MMR lower than a guy that win 5 matches and lose 5 matches versus high MMR players.

So, now the question is, why is he matched against lower MMR players? As he said he is climbing very slowly but having high win ratio in same time, that doesn’t make any sence. Shouldn’t he have higher MMR? His MMR should rise until his win/lose ratio is 50/50.

Even Helseth can now win a duel time to time, this is clear proof that condi Mesmer is over the top. It’s surely the cheapest build across the field currently, no doubts about that.

Druids healing more manageable now?

About the healing, just a small comparison what some classes are capable of:

Druid heals per sec with 0 healing power (cast times taken into consideration):
573 hp/sec
Druid heals per sec with 1050 healing power (menders amu):
869hp/sec
Warrior heals per sec with 0 healing power:
877 hp/sec

To druid I counted “We heal as one” , “Rejuvenating Tides” and “Lunar Impact”. All of druid healing skills can be interrupted.
To war I counted healing signet and andrenal health x3.

And just for the druid dmg. Take a war with 2,6k+ defence, which is able to dodge twice (spike barrage and smoke assault) and try to get him low on heatlh, such war will mostlikely outheal all the druid dmg.

So, was the druid really so OP? Probably yes. Did druid need a nerf? Probably yes. But there is at least another 8 builds of other classes which are OP the same way the druid was. Were are the nerfs?

PvP wise:

With the healing power scaling they basically killed all druid builds, which are not using healing power. I hoped that this patch would bring some build diversity but instead players are even more forced to play with menders amulet. Druid needed some nerfs no doubt about that, but again they proved that they have absolutely no clue what they are doing, just throwing some random stuff and see what happens.

They also talking about making short bow more viable. Well, it’s maybe too early to say, but I doubt it will ever be viable, cause there are no good amulets which would fit the short bow playstyle.

SotP was nerfed. Anyone ever complained about this being op? With such an easy access to stability other classes got, they really needed to nerf this? I would like to hear what is behind this specific nerf.

PvP Druid needs balancing

I think Druids have just a wee too much bunker in them. With a Toughness and Healing Power build, Druids can contest points for the whole match solo. When I’ve been fighting 1 v 1 using my Engi, I get him down to half HP, then poof, full heal. 5 minutes later, I need to call for backup because he just won’t go away. IMO, Druids are more OP than Dragon Hunters.

First of all, there is no such amulet with healing power and toughness. Already here you failing. Most druids playing with menders which provides no toughness. You also saying thay you couldn’t kill the druid and so you needed to be 2 to get him down. But as for this it seems that the druid couldn’t get you down either, does that mean you are also OP bunker?

Druid’s healing is strong, exactly as it meant to be as druid is meant to be healer. But their dmg is very low, the main burst dmg comming from 2 skills of their pets, if you are too stupid to dodge these then it is just ltp issue.

It is again one of these post " I can’t kill somebody so it must be op".

I don’t know what but for sure the game doesn’t try to balance the match to be 50/50 at least what I could see so far. The game rather forces you to 50% win ratio which as a result you got: win lose win lose win win lose lose etc end most matches are already decided before they even start.

Scrapper, Guardian, Druid

Idk how about in other tiers but in Diamond the roster seems to be balanced. Maybe DH is a bit more used, but other professions are covered equally.

It’s surely not perfect but in terms of class balance, this is the best season imo. No build is too tanky to hold 2 enemies, no build is too strong to win every 1v1. Not saying it’s perfect, but the best from all seasons.

All classes can if they play against bad scrapper. But in fact, good scrapper is king of 1v1s and I can think only about reapers who got solid chance to beat scrapper. It’s obvious that scrapper needs some small nerfs specially in survivability, but that was already said many times in many topics.

I played all 3 seasons and in all seasons I made it legendary division and if I shall judge the matchmaking according the number of blow out matches then this is far far the worst season.

What I consider broken on war is the insane passive healing. With a full offensive amulets war can easily manage to heal for 800+ hp/sec. That’s 8k per 10sec, 16k per 20 sec, no other class can compare to that maybe except for druid. But unlike druid, war heal is passive and he is free to attack while healing himself while druid can’t. I know war needed some sustain buff, but this was clearly overdone.

Yesterday I also faced some random client crashes in a game, never had this before. Funny thing, half of the participants were continuously crashing and the game was basically 4v4, 3v4, 4v3 the entire time. Once the game was over everything was fine again.

Legend Queue Times

Matchmaking doesn’t count pips past the end of legendary, so prestige count won’t affect queue times.

What would make legendary players happy to keep playing the game? Is it just quicker queue times? What if you could do other things while waiting? What if there was something other than leagues all together like unranked arena that legendary players could go to until more players make it to legendary?

1st of, like I already said, I really like the current system. The quality of matches I was/am getting in diamond and now in legendary is awesome since I am queued with and against high skilled/top players, so I personally wouldn’t change a thing.

As for the queue times, there isn’t problem with queue times in prime time, at least on EU. Ppl should be just more reasonable and don’t expect short queue times in late night or morning. But to answer the question, it would really help if ppl could do something while waiting in queue. Waiting in queue for 10 mins having nothing to do is ok, but 40+mins is just waste of time. I would personally love to roam in WvW in the meantime for example. So yeah, let ppl do something while waiting in queue.

Legend Queue Times

I personally didn’t notice any differences in queue times after I got to the 2nd legendary. I still think it counts as legendary and it doesn’t divide ppl according their prestige. I play on EU servers and in prime time I have no issues with the queue times, they are usually somewhere between 5-10mins which is just ok for me. There is not so many ppl in legendary division so you can’t expect to have 5 mins queue times outside of prime time, don’t be fool seriously.

I was really surprised by the fast progress I had compared to season 1 (made it to legendary in season 1 too, but took me double the time). As a solo queuer I made it to diamond with minimum of losses. But the whole division of diamond and now continuing in legendary the matches are really equal, much better than in season 1. Also I am happy to play with and against ESL players now in legendary division as it’s great challenge for me . So as for me, it’s way better.

How many seasons will there be this year?

You don’t have to participate in every single season to finish the legendary backpiece. But there is a certain amount of items needed, it’s possible to do it in 2 seasons I believe ( didn’t calculated it though).

I think there will be 4 seasons this year overall.

Just do what everyone else does? When you have a game decided before it even ends (eg leading 150:450), relog with other class before the match ends and get your AP.

I basically got to ruby with minimum of losses(like 4-5 maybe). Atm I am on the border of ruby/diamond and the matches are already way way more balanced for me. So just wait it out

We Need an AFK Voting System

Sounds good, but how would you protect innocent players against 3man premade trolls who would bully the rest of the team or a single player? As much as I really wish to deal with afkers somehow, this is probably not the way.

Perhaps they could add some kind of camp metter warning the player to actually join the fights or be dishonnored. Players standing on node would be excluded from this.

If you would play ranger then you would know that ranger staff nr2 and nr4 skills are very clunky as well. But that’s not the point. You could compare skills like that endlessly. Why guardian staff offers 12 stacks of might for 10sec yet healing when druid can’t? Why Daredevil deals so much dmg with staff compared to druid? Why revenant deals so much dmg with staff yet blocking attacks and ccing enemies? Why DH traps deals so much dmg compared to ranger traps? Why does DH have elite trap and ranger doesn’t? We could go on like this forever.

Every class got specific role to play, they are not all the same! They all have different style of play and also different skills. You need to stop compare umcompareable.

Wtf man seriously? “Druid Staff 4 is Both Earth 5 and Air 4 stacked together” , “Druid 5 is ‘equivalent’ to magnetic aura”. All of these skills do smth different. Schock way is targeted skill, causing double the time of immobilize and bleeding. Evade frame isn’t blast finisher but unlike uncestral grace its fire field etc etc etc so wtf man? Stop comparing uncomparable, you only making fool of yourself sadly((.
