Diamond Skin will deactivate as soon as you take a hit so just take 30 water for the strong condition cleanse (that also supports your allies).
Thanks guys, that worked for me as well.
I posted a new topic on this today (Sorry ANet!), and after visiting all zones again (ending at Chantr of Secrets), I did get my star.
New question: That star is supposed to appear for all characters on your account, right? I noticed that my other character still isn’t showing it, though he can boast that he’s, “Been there, done that”. Can someone clarify that this character should show the star as well, or is it just the completing character?
- Andy
The star shows up per character.
there is no way to rejoin my party after reconnecting? Am I missing something?
Burning doesn’t deal enough damage by itself to make it worthwhile to center a build around it. Especially when you consider that it doesn’t stack very well with Burning applied by other people.
i wonder who they got this feedback from?
So that means in order to stay competitive in WvW, everyone will have to grind dungeons for gear even if they don’t care about PvE content at all. Brilliant.
I feel like if Necro is supposed to be hard to escape from the class needs a lot more and more powerful hard CC than it does right now. The amount of CC of pretty much any other class I have played so far greatly exceeds that of my Necromancer.

Considering how imperative condition removal is in PvP even when people don’t run dedicated condition builds I find it hilarious that there is still talk about the “metagame” in this context. Condition removal is never going to go out of “meta”.
Arenanet only bans for exploits that affect the economy of the game or extreme things like flying all over the map to ninja orbs and such. Don’t worry about using this trick.
Eruption+Arcane Wave+Stasis Field is an awesome combo for stacking Swiftness. This is rather important in WvW so I’d really hate to see the effect changed.
Any updates for those of us that had no luck with the Chantry of Secrets?
Make soulbound weapons/armor default to safe boxes/invisible bags

Currently they automatically go into equipment boxes instead whenever I swap weapons which is pretty annoying since I use those to sort loot I collect.
Necro already has the worst mobility in the game, there is no reason for a nerf like this.
Sounds excessive for a Guardian.
first :
the warrior was horible, he made 0 kills by himself with orbs
he rushed in with an zerg behind him and managed to hit 1/2 targets, failed to kill 2-3 players below lvl 80
regarding the guardian he start to fight since minute 9 to the end:
a lot of healing power, low hp pool , some dmg and some armor
if u can see the heals are over 70% of his hp pool, so i assume that his max hp is arround 15 k and he run with over 1k healing power. build looks viable on first sight but as you noticed guardian wasn’t presured by heavy dmg, our boy made max 1 hit of 2500 rest arround 700, and the ranger behind didn’t made heavy dmg either.
You don’t need healing power for Signet of Resolve to heal your entire hp pool.
Does anyone else think traited meditations should be treated as a "heal" skill?

The term Heal skill always refers to the sixth skill slot only for all classes.
Just to clarify: the stacks do not disappear if you swap weapons, they do disappear if you get downed or change maps.
If you’re feeling squishy, the single most effective way to fix that is to keep your gear up to date and use full toughness/vitality armor.
Same for most classes really. Underwater combat in general needs a major overhaul.
Why would you ever use a symbol build in PvP? No one is going to stand inside them for long unless they are poor players.
Well, assuming it stacks multiplicatively with other percental damage increases, it’s still only 4-5% more damage. It really depends on what you’re giving up to get it.
Check out my Greatsword build in the sticky thread, it’s pretty much exactly what you’re looking for.
Use full Vitality/Toughness masterwork (green) armor and keep it somewhat up to date, as well as your primary weapon. Use defensive utilities such as Signet of Judgment, Save Yourselves, Hold The Line etc. more than anything else.
Worked for me, see picture.
Adding on to the above: The world completion star also doesn’t seem to appear next to my character name to other players.
Just finished 100% world completion including the Chantry of Secrets. I didn’t get any gifts but I did get the “Been there. Done that.” title and the corresponding achievement.
Superior Rune of the Earth not working for Hold the Line/Symbol of Protecion

Are you sure about this? How did you test this exactly? In any case, this thread would be better suited for the bug report forum.
People that are happy with the class are less likely to post. Discussing potential problems is more constructive than talking about how great everything is, too.
I feel like it’s usually not worth it to go for condition damage on gear in general. You can easily get a decent amount of condition damage just by stacking might via fire field + blast finisher combos.
Bump. I’d like to know this as well.
Unless you’re focusing on healing I really wouldn’t bother with healing power gear. I’d recommend full Knight’s or Berserker’s accessories to go with your Pow/Tgh/Vit armor.
What build are you using?
Wells are pretty good AoE nukes in WvW if you get the trait that allows you to ground target them. Life Transfer is an excellent ability as well, especially if traited. With Transfusion it’s a 3k heal over 3 seconds on everyone around you as well as dealing good damage without the need to aim. Marks are great to place traps in front of portals.
All in all, the only downside of the class I see in WvW are the huge cooldowns of all these abilities.
Just place Staff marks right on top of people so they trigger immediately.
I’d like to think that most people would consider the complete rearrangement of skill bars every time a cooldown gets adjusted a problem.
Retaliation will likely receive a major increase in damage once the rest of the abilities granting the Retaliation boon have been adjusted. The only problem I have with this change is that it severely weakens the aoe damage I can put out in PvE with Symbol of Wrath’s damage component.
Just because one hasn’t specced into an attunement doesn’t make it useless.
They don’t want people teleporting right back to an event going on if they die. However since events are currently so trivial anyway, contested waypoints might as well be removed.
If you’re trolling I must say you’re rather good at it.
~15k HP is a comfortable value for Guardians.
Dagger/ has such great damage though…to be honest, I am not sure I want to call dev attention to it.
For a single target melee weapon the damage it deals is actually quite pathetic.
Only every third kill or so ends up giving me loot at all.
Mighty Greatsword Guardian for PvE/WvW
http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#Mccz0M9MmnGaomnGaoap0xVMMsMRs
Equipment:
Berserker’s Greatsword with Superior Sigil of Strength
2 Superior Runes of Hoelbrak
2 Superior Runes of the Fire
2 Superior Runes of Strength
Mix of Power/Toughness/Vitality Armor and Power/Precision/Toughness Accessories (you should have at least ~40% crit chance with traits)
An alternative to the runes used here are Superior Runes of the Monk and Superior Runes of the Water. These offer 30% extra duration for all boons but at a cost of 10% less might duration and 50 less power.
The basic idea behind this build is to build a lot of might stacks for you and your allies while dealing massive aoe damage with the Greatsword. This build shines especially when fighting multiple opponents.
The secondary weapon set and your utility skills largely depend on your personal preference and the given situation.
(edited by Morelia.6835)
Get into an organized WvW raid, then you can easily use a melee-centric build successfully. I’m just using my regular PvE Greatsword build with Judge’s Intervention, Save Yourselves, Retreat and Tome of Courage as utility skills.
It doesn’t really matter that Whirlwing Wrath slows you down as it can easily be dodged out of anyway.
Mesmers are excellent duelists against any class so you should never take them on 1on1.
If you’re looking to stack condition damage, it’s probably more beneficial to go for a might stacking build since might gives both power and condition damage. Guardians can easily keep up 15++ stacks of might with the correct build and equipment.

Pow/Tgh/Vit gear is available from karma vendors in Orr:

You can also get it from the Honor of the Waves dungeon vendor and maybe some others as well as the WvW armor vendors.
