Go to the new Build > Traits panel for visual reference.
I’ve been trying to use the sidebar column to mouse over each trait before selecting what Sepcialization and then actual traits to use in the main window to the right, and the difference in orientations between the two sections is driving my brain bonkers: the sidebar column displays each Adept/Master/Grandmaster section of traits horizontally (left to right), while the main window lists them vertically (top to bottom).
Wouldn’t it make more sense to reorient the traits in the sidebar column to also go top-to-bottom vertically, to mirror the main window?
(Interstingly, the minor traits being vertical on the left and horizontal on the right doesn’t bother me as much; perhaps it’s because the hexagonal shape already differentiates them visually from the others?)
Absolutely. Either mixed in some days as an option, or add another option for each type to choose from (JP for PvE, and two others for the other modes). I miss having that further incentive or “push” to do them each day.
Same for me; no error, it just sits on the loading screen forever. It was stuck in the loading screen after after shutting the game down: I had to log out, successfully log in as another character, and then go back to the first one for it to stop trying to load.
It’s interesting, given all the “this feels like GW1 all over again!” comments with the last patch… I got a strong GW1 vibe with this one, too, Prophecies in particular: where every map is a big maze that funnels you in certain directions. I don’t see that as bad, it’s kind of refreshing to, be honest.

I have a regular account (non-Deluxe, non-Heroic) but the issue is not whether I want to purchase the Deluxe version: I’ve already received the Heroic as a gift, and want to know if I can upgrade my regular account with it.
I’ve been playing GW2 since launch, but a well-meaning relative recently gave me the Heroic Edition as a gift. I haven’t opened it yet, in case the answer to my question is “no”, but is there any way to upgrade my current “regular” account with the Heroic version? Or is it only for brand-new accounts?
I’ve looked under My Account here on the main site; the “Upgrade or Link Accounts” only seems to be related to the GW1/HoM linking I did way back when. I can’t find any option in-game that may be an upgrade path. And the “Game Versions” page here on the site doesn’t seem to have any relevant upgrade info.

Point me in the direction of where anything was stated apart from “there are some things that veterans will appreciate” this week? It sounds like you read pretty far into one line and sort of dug your own disappointment…

How does someone participate in a tournament like this?
I see sections in the news story about achievements and rewards, but what’s involved with actually being a part of it in the first place? Do you just log in and play WvW during the timeframe, or do you actually need to sign up for something? That part I’m not clear on.
I’d never found any BL Tickets before the bump in frequency this week, and thus never gave the BLT weapons much attention, but now have two sitting in my bank. I’m not too keen on the leyline weapons, and am thinking perhaps Halloween might bring more interesting ones so I’m going to hang onto them for now.
Anyway, for the actual question: how does pricing for the BLT weapons work? I see that the recent ones seem to start at 1 ticket and then explode upwards to five or seven for the older skins. Is there any rhythm for when prices go up?
If I open the Hero > Equipment window and swap weapons, the change isn’t represented visually: the paperdoll ONLY shows the first weapon set, even if the second set is currently equipped.
Not here. Between not being able to interact with the flamethrower barrel (which I assume is the next action you’re supposed to take) and enemies/animals running around with guild tags, I’m pretty sure it’s bugged.
Agreed. I wouldn’t mind more of them placed in zones in general.
That being said, did you know you can pop into your home WvW land for a quick bank/TP visit, then exit and end up right back where you were on the main map?
(I didn’t realize that until last month, and I’ve been playing since launch. Ha!)
I think what caught my attention this time was that this next part of the LS is still about “something” happening (the Zephyrites’ misfortune), but is more grounded in an actual physical area (Maguuma), rather that just broad event-based “X enemies are attacking” or “Y festival is starting in this temporary area” things. It seems more focused, more concrete …does that make sense?
I’m finally getting around to building up my mesmer alt, and am rather enjoying portaling people through JPs. Besides Sharkmaw and Urmaug’s Secret, are there any others (outside of LA) that can be portaled, and that folks often ask for?
I do enjoy the dolyak race. Though I don’t much like how the top racers yell at all of the other racers to hurry up and finish so they can get their gold reward.
Every time I’ve raced, everyone at the top is always yelling but in a good way. It’s not uncommon to hear “Go yaks, go!”, “YAK YAK YAK”, or lots of folks spamming /cheer… which has actually mad it a pretty amusing and fun community event every time.
You should post this in tech support, it looks like your bloom and postprocessing settings are too high.
I was going to suggest that. I turned my post-processing all the way off a couple weeks ago and it’s not only made fights much easier to follow, but the world is a lot more “visible” now, for lack of a better word.
I’ve also run it a few times and gotten the end chest, but only have 1 time recorded in the achievement. Now that you mention it, I think I might’ve come in after the “official” start on most of those as well. If that’s what’s causing the error in recording, it’s a little dumb because it seems like the majority of the time you’re going to end up in a race that’s already in-progress.
Same here. I found one set of ghost spiders in the past hour to marginally fill the progress bar; nothing else is working. Insane that this hasn’t been fixed yet.
Logged in over the weekend (after not having been on for a few days, including the evening before) to find my dailies at 3/5 already. Completed those, and now they’ve been stuck at the same 5/5 for the past two days.
After having stopped for almost a year, the new patch has gotten me interested again. “Collecting” weapon/armor skins and dyes is a great motivator; I find myself actually caring about hearts and going back to see if the karma vendor has anything unique I can pick up, which is pretty neat.
After being a perpetual PvE-er since the launch of GW1, I’ve also surprised myself by having a blast playing PvP for the first time thanks to changes the past few months and with this patch.
