I’ve been looking around at the new(ish) mmo’s and BDO is being pushed by a mate – just bought the basic access. The character creation screen and graphic look good, but a video I watched on YouTube actually started to make me feel sick – all the bouncing back and forth and camera zooming – so in 2 minds whether to drop €30 on it….
Anyone got any insight into the trading mechanics on it?
@Zaiaito
Keep checking the map in Orr and drop in occasionally. I’ve been scanning it for 2 weeks and a couple of nights ago there was a group completing it Also, keep checking the LFG for Taxis’ to the event.
I now own 700 Obs Shards just to be safe lol
Just buy these: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Teleport_to_Friend
The option is already in game.
ok, 1.5minutes so far and counting
Guys, what on earth have you done. 25+ second load times, IF it loads.
What have you done?!?!?!
The general input from most of the comments on the bosses (fractals and elsewhere) are make the mechanics different, interesting.
To be honest, I’d like to see the mechanics change randomly. 3 or 4 types of mechanic, maybe even 5, and RNG picks one and off you go Keep people on their toes.
Personally love TT. Evening running with a highly experienced guild there can be issues.
Teq is ok as well. The others are a bit meh. Hell, look at the fire elemental – I think once it actually spawns it’s down in what, 15-20 seconds?
I’d like to see more world bosses that are aligned to TT. More involved, multiple working mechanics where timing is important.
It would also be fun to have totally random global bosses spawn where there is little time to organise and it’s just an absolute carnage and very 50/50 whether it’s achieved but reasonable loot. I could imagine the lag and potential server crashes :/
Just out of interest, will it actually give anything special, like footfalls or anything?
I’m a complete nub in real terms to gw and gw2. Signed up at the end of September and started fractals in December. Love em to be honest – but then, they are all still new to me
Did the “Pole” things a week or two ago, and last night did mossman without the pole thing. Definitely seems easier/quicker without the Pole.. shrugs Maybe it was just the pug i was with?
Speaking of Legendaries – anything on Ad Infinitum release?
Completely un-related note, Kudos to you Rogue. So many these days would jump on the “Oh woe is me” train and give up….where as here you are, learning new maps refusing to let it ruin your gaming. Gratz and Respect mate!!!
These FPS issues are surprising. I played it on a laptop last night with a full map, in a large guild, and didn’t really experience any FPS issues or lag…. shrugs Weird.
Played it last night for the first time as I only joined GW2 in October last year. It was ok, but to be honest, just seemed a waste of time. No real gold earning potential, no masteries, the envelopes contain rubbish really and take a long time to get. Compared to Wintersday and the JP (as an example) can;t see the point in it?
Honestly, a bit Meh really. I was expecting much more with teh bravado the marketing spiel gave it :/
Afternoon all European Server Players.
I’m looking for a group that either this evening this week (7.00-10pm GMT this week or weekend) that would be interested in completing this Event?
Principally, I need to access the Tactician Deathstrider Vendor.
Would appreciate any and all help
For a complete set purchased with laurels, it will cost a whopping 150 laurels (180 if you want infusions)… Those numbers ARE excessive considering we are gated to a MAX 55 laurels per month… You are asking players to wait an entire 3 months (and 16 days if you want infusions)… The wait is an entire QUARTER year and season for enough laurels for a complete set… This IS too much waiting and gating and cost, so here are my suggestions…
Actually they are asking players to go do fractals and guild missions. Around two weeks for all the rings and accessories.
Infused ascended rings x2 in 2 weeks? Good luck with that!!!
I’ve been doing them for a 5 weeks solid as a newbie to GW2 and last night I got my first ever infused drop. To infuse them in the forge takes Vials/Globs and Shards of Mists Essence and I’ve only ever had 11 Vials.
I know for the 2 Accessories it’s 2 weeks in Guild Missions – no other way afaik.
I think the question is: Will the new shatterer drop ascended gear upon completion like Tequatl?
Not being sarcky, just had trouble reading it.
Agree with the concept, however, if you look at it from Anets perspective, they do not want people flooding the TP with items where they will lose out heavily (i.e. people will not spend their gems on it, but instead, get it with pre earned gold).
Maybe forcing the items to be able to be “Gifted” it should reduce the issue of large “dumping” of said items into the market and thus keeping the revenue stream for Anet flowing for these items, but it will allow the owners of multiples to “pass on” the items.
Invariably, the gifting function is based around sending an item to a person you KNOW. There is technically no gold exchange. Sure, some will still do it, and some will get scammed, it’s life. But if you are prepared to take the risk, then it’s both users fault imo.
Now, people will obviously still be prepared to risk doing the trade for gold with people they don;t know, but at least it would reduce the mass influx that opening them up on the TP will do.
Win win imo
ok cool. Cheers
So, I’ve finished the first part and have now unlocked the next stage, Ad Infinitum II: Upper Bound.
My question is about the Prototype Fractal Capacitor. I can make this from Exotic to Ascended, then to Ascended (Infused) fairly easily via the Mystic forge and getting the Fractal Relics.
My question is:
If I create the Ascended (infused) Item (Beta) and actually use it, can I then remove it and use it again in the MAgik Forge Creating the next item/precursor?
Hopefully that makes sense
After getting downed by a bear in Queensdale and other players walking past instead of reviving him he vowed to get his revenge and git gud.
I think you’ll find the bear does more than down him…..and a couple of times….
3 weeks to do it in (roughly to be safe).
477 drinks per day.
hic
So where can I pick up one of these Swords? Is it possible if I only have GW2 and HoT?
Could be worse, could be Steam Hats :/
Thanks Sindre. I can confirm. Sitting in the chest of Shatterer for me, but took about 40-50 Nightmare Court kills to get it.
So quick question. Does this apply in the same manner when needing the lining drop from the Nightmare Court? Once unlocked, first one you kill drops it?
Also, do you need to be level 80, or is any level fine?
Ok, so when I have completed all of Devastation say, and spent all the hero points, does that then give me a piece of armour, or do i have to wait until I’ve unlocked all 6?
So where do you pick this set up guys? What quests etc do I need to do as a Rev? I’m only lvl27 soooo…. :/
@Foefaller.1082 Maybe you could help me on this. Where do I get the keys to open the Crystal Chests in TD please?
First time I saw them, and the swarmed me and killed me, all I could think of was this:
Thanks Guys. I’ll have a mooch around those 2 sites.
I guess as Simplesimon said I’m looking for something that introduces me to it, so I can understand the concept and the basics of it rather than spend 14g to power level up right now
Hey all.
I did search the forums for “Crafting” but oddly enough only 3 results?!?!?!
Has anyone got a link to a relatively simple walk through on how the crafting works and what you need to do to get started in it?
Cheers
Mos.
But at least with going out and getting the mastery points, it is a mini adventure in it’s own right. It’s something you can do on your own. I’m presently stuck on a single Hero point to gain map completion on VB – it’s the Golom mk1 in the Canapees. Can never get together with friends due to working and hours in general – but hopefully this weekend I will
Don;t even get me started on eso. I came here from 9 mths in ESO.
I had 4 v16 Chars and you think the grind is bad here, the champion point system in ESO has been an absolute disaster. The LAG is horrific, there are more bugs put in to the game in updates than removed on each weekly update and there are very few hot fixes. The landscape and environment is generally worse and there is very little to do once you’ve maxed everything. Coming back to the champion points, I was on about 400 and something. The top players were on 1-1500 or so and there was a hand full who had already gone over 2400.
Now, I wouldn’t say that GW2 is a walk in the park. I have one lvl80 and working on my second now, but I would say that removing the Basic Guild options for smaller guilds was a strange move. And I won’t get in to Crafting yet as it confuses the hell out of me – I just need to spend some time understanding it.
I do however, love TP and the economy – which for me is a big part of the games – personally.
Either way, I would wait until Black Friday
Good question this actually. I’m running a Mesmer and a total newb with GW/GW2. Just liked the look of it so went for it.
Got to be honest, I’m struggling a little with him in HoT – especially at night
I’m through to the 7th chapter of the story line, so it’s not all bad, but a couple of them have been 3-4 attempts in certain fights.
I especially have problems with 4-5 pocket raptors. My health Vanishes in 2 bites and it hurts. 50/50 chance of survival – so I must be doing something wrong, as others turn up and just clear them in 2 hits…shrugs
So tired of "Fast as the Wind" constant spam

I’ve only been playing GW2 for 3 weeks now, and as a Mesmer, I can assure you you I rarely “feel 6 feet tall” no matter how many times I’m told it!!
Out of interest, do they need to have HoT to be in that instance/run the quest to get it?
i.e. there are 6 of us in a guild. 3 have HoT and 3 do not. Can we all run the instance or only those with HoT?
Only the ones with HoT will be able to participate.
Cheers. I thought as much but never hurts to ask. Guess I’ll buy it tonight when I get home then.
Just for the record, for what it’s worth, I’ve never played Guild Wars1/2 until 2-3 weeks ago. Loving the game and such but I truly don’t understand why they took the banks access from small guilds. I know the normal arguments of gold sink, lah lah lah, but it’s such a small, insignificant thing, that strategically they should have kept at least that potentially earnable/open to a small 2/3 person guild shrugs

I was wondering this myself. Thanks for the answers.
On a Side note: how hard is it to get the 20 pvp kills – having never played PVP…EVER… ? I’m also a mesmer.
Hmmm.
So would we all need to own HoT to access the guild, or just the guild leader has to have HoT?
@mrstealth.7601 – how much do you need? We have a small group of friends with a guild with 11k inspiration. We only set it up a week ago. Where does that leave us?
So question on this. Does everyone in the guild need to have the expansion, or does the guild owner need it and the others can still use it as normal?
(with the exception of the guild halls obviously).
Thanks once again guys and gals for your input. All really useful info from my perspective having never played.
I have to say, I’m really getting in to it. Loving the exploration as well, and finishing each zone at 100%
Halfway through level 44 as of last night. Need another 11 Hero points (excluding the Hero points from dinging level 45) to have Domination maxed with Dueling.
I’ve got a Signet of Insp. that gives me a speed boost every 5 seconds or so, which is invaluable. Had that for a while now and it does make a big difference (even through it can mess with me on Jumping puzzles)
My out right power right now is circa 650 and health around 5600 – not sure how that benchmarks in general, but I am killing things – just takes a little time
@rainpool.7189 Oooo. Perm. Swiftness. I’ll look in to that tonight
Did my first jumping puzzle last night and completed it on third attempt. The one at the Spiral? Not to bad in terms of challenge. Thankfully a few people to revive me a couple of times
Thanks Donari – but doesn’t really answer the question
Ok cool. Cheers
So a friend has told me there are various changes coming in the HoT expansion. All good from what I’ve seen and read.
My question is: All the changes being implemented, like Camera View, are they only available if you buy and install HoT – or do they come in a base patch for the core game?
Thanks for the responses all.
I’ve read much of what you folks have linked in here and there is still contradiction on what/how to take your build lol
I’ve got Dueling maxed now, so that’s a start. Domination is coming along nicely with Illusion. Hopefully those will help me out
