I think there should be a lore section like Star Wars The Old Republic has. In SWTOR, the lore section consists of information about NPCs, planets, wildlife etc. Guild Wars has an enormous amount of lore but most of it is through obscure NPCs or is written on the wiki.
I’ve added an image where I created a simple version of how it could be implemented.
EDIT: I see I didn’t create a new tab button. Oh well.
This should be fun, I support this idea!
People have to run a second screen (laptop, smartphone etc.) to get the most out of it.
Alt + Tab. Not quite as efficient as turning your head from one screen to another, but sufficiently effective. Some sites also provide overlays, which by their nature, remove the need for a second screen.
As for Waypoints, you have to run there in the first place. I consider that sufficient context.
You should try Overwolf, it’s also an overlay with an internet browser and custom apps, and works really great with GW2. There’s also a Dulfy app in development for Overwolf.
The best gift is the announcement of an expansion.
This, and Crystal Desert in particular.
Living World doesn't provide enough in-game direction

The storyline in Dragon Bash was’t confusing at all. You got mails saying where to go with a build-in “Show Me” function. Also, the conversations between you, Ellen Kiel and Marjory Delaqua make clear on where to go next, there are gold markers on the maps and the achievements point you in the good direction. There’s nothing wrong with the way the story in Dragon Bash is presented and there’s nothing to be confused about.
I can shapeshift on my norn, yet I hardly feel special :/
The way I look at it, a shapeshifter would be nice mixed as a norn (soo many options!) but norn racial elite’s are pathetic. Aside from escaping as snow leopard or massive lifesteal as wolf, you don’t threaten anyone aside from rabbits and deer.
Personally, instead of making an entirely new profession, I’d like to see ranger have a new skill set devoted to shapeshifting (traits mixed in with nature magic). Things like a husk, or a gorrilla (they got gorrilas in orr) or a bear. They don’t have to be snow leopard, wolf, bear, and raven. There are a ton of other animals that could have half human half beast models and look quite scary.
It’s difficult to make or think of a profession in this game that isn’t alread there (minons are basically necro, earth is ele, etc etc). Best that can be done is adding a new skill set to the exisitng professions, as many people have asked for more skills in the past.
Well, I just think shapeshifting into animals should stay with the Norn. It if was implemented on a ranger, it just doesn’t feel right.
Also, I think that adding more skill trees, weapons and traitlines would be more beneficial to the game too, instead of new professions. It’s also easier to implement because, like you said, most of the things we can think about for a new profession mechanic is already covered by the professions we now have.
These professions won’t be included because:
Shapeshifter – Buff Norn racials, also, Norn wouldn’t feel special if every race could shapeshift if they choose the Shapeshifter
Chloromancer – They removed the monk (healing specialist) and dedicated healing will not be implemented
Geomancer – Earth Elementalist
Summoner – Necromancer with ranger pet skins
Another +1 for Cantha from me.
Even tough I started a month or so after the release of Prophecies, and therefor it defines Guild Wars for me, I can’t think of a playable Tyria in GW2 without Cantha. Because of the new engine, Kaineng could be a really nice place to visit. Also, I wonder how the unpetrified Echovald Forest and the liquid Jade Sea look like nowadays.
Come on NCSoft, try to get a small team in ArenaNet working on a Cantha expansion!
..
What is the link of the Q&A session you found that in? It seems interesting.
A racial skill slot. There aren’t a lot of people who use racial skills because profession skills are stronger. It’d be nice if there is one slot extra for racial skills (non-elite).
This is great! Even for a lore addict that knows lots of stuff like myself, I really enjoyed watching them all! I can’t wait to see new videos.
But these events are not present in Guild Wars 1, where we are together with Vizier Khilbron. I take it that is what he’s doing when not with the character then?
- It is just that we are in the Crystal Desert in Guild Wars 1 but no charrs there.I’m merely asking, BuddhaKeks.
As already has been stated, the Charr did invade Orr during the Third Guild Wars, which lasted from 1013 to 1070 AE. In 1071 AE the Cataclysm happened which destroyed all the charr attacking Orr but also caused it to sink Orr to the bottom of the ocean.
At the time we were fighting in the Crystal Desert, Orr has already sunk and no charr were left. Also, if you look at the map of Tyria from Guild Wars 1 you can see there is no Orr on the map, only some small islands where Orr used to be, west of the Crystal Desert.
I visit it pretty much every day. Miningruns.

It was supposed to be a part of the dungeon but due to deadlines the dungeon team couldn’t finish it. Maybe it will be finished someday, who knows.
The boss at the Frozen Maw should have more hp, deal more damage and his tornados should move around in random patterns. Also, the portals he summons should have more HP and the mobs coming from it should be veterans mixed with champions, depending on the number of players. That would make this fight a lot more interesting.
I know a lot of people wouldn’t agree with me on this, but I like a game that has a challenge, especially when there are lots of people around that help eachother.
YES!
This would be a really great feature. There are so many karma trinkets, especially in the lower-level zones which I would like to use because of the icon and/or the description. I can’t stand the fact that they can’t be transmuted.
The more stuff that can be transmuted, the more people will buy transmutation stones which in turn could mean more profit for Arenanet
I hope it doesn’t, I think it’s ugly. That’s the reason I’m working on getting the shield instead of a greatsword.
I wish players could toggle the footprints on and off.
1. Yes, I would like that, but Charr would get major clipping issues.
2. A big no for me. Mounts don’t have a place in GW2.
3. Yes, more skins is always good.
4. Yes, more skins is always good.
5. Yes please. Or hardmode versions of dungeons like they have in Guild Wars.
I’m happy to know that the shield doesn’t leave footprints. I wish all legendary weapons have the ability to turn the footprints on or off, because personally, I think the footprints are ugly. The greatswords should have some sort of effect like the necro skill (don’t know which one) which leaves a green trail, the Rodgort focus should have something like that blurry effect around your character that appears when you watch above heated object like campfires or heated roads, the longbow should grow grass or something when the character is standing still etc.
This way legendary weapons would be more unique. Just my two cents.
It’s part of the game mechanics that swords only offer main hand.
Erm, no. Warriors can wield swords in their off-hand.
Same for the mesmer.
I don’t want mounts in the game because I think it looks rediculous. LOTRO was the only MMO I played where I wasn’t annoyed by mounts, because they really fit the lore and aren’t weird, lame beasts but horses. Because of the absense of horses in GW2, there should be substitutes. The substitutes should be race fitting etc etc. In the end it will come down to a circus in the big towns, just as GW was when all the mini’s and all the effects of fireworks and snowmans were introduced.
Maybe it’s just me but I don’t want mounts.
I think weaponskill slots should have different options. The autoattack should have 3 different skills to choose from, as well as skill slot 2 to 5. That gives so much more customizability.
That would also be a balancing nightmare. 243 different ability combinations for each weapon set.
Not really. In Gw1 with dual professions and 8 skills to pick, there were millions of combinations. For example, the core professions had something like 140 skills each. If I had a necromancer/mesmer combination, that means 140+140 skills is 280 skills in total. That means there were 8.5e+14 combinations of skills. Throw in 8 other professions and there you have your balancing nightmare.
(That is if my maths are correct
Answer is a bit less because I only did 280^8 instead of 280×279 etc. and didn’t take elite skills into account )

Do you remember when the game is started and the areas had a lot of player? I want it back!

An underflow would be really great! That would make the level 30-60 areas way more fun to play through again. The game would seem so much more alive with underflows avaidable
As if they removed something that easy for one person. It isn’t that hard, you just have to wait until the note hits the blue area where you are standing, then hit the correct skill icon. That’s it. Really, it takes some practice but it’s far from hard.
Drakker is not Jormag. Drakker is Jormag’s champion. Peolpe thought that the dragon in Drakkar Lake was Jormag but it isn’t.
Centaurs as mounts? That’s plain stupid. Mounts in general are lame in Guild Wars 2 imo. Also, charrs mounting centaurs? That looks stupid. I’m disliking this idea.
