There is a tunnel directly to the east of the POI underwater. It leads to a tunnel system that will get to that point.

The only thing I spend Karma on before 80 is the Pirate vendor in the jump puzzle of Lion’s Arch each time I hit level 40. They are about 9K Karma and they are yellow level 40 weapons with a pretty cool look.

Is there a trick? Like using a higher grade kit? Or salvaging higher level items?
I’ve done a BUNCH of salvaging the last 3 days, and I’m at 17% completion.

I can see two things to help the situation.
1) Make guilds movable without penalty.
2) Make transfers to low pop servers free. (conversly very high cost to go up)I agree on point 1.
Unfortunately point 2 will result in the same issue that is the very reason for payed transfers to begin with. Many top-tier guilds will all transfer to the same bottom-tier server. The server will face-roll its way back up the ranks to where the top-tier guilds transferred from gaining bandwagon players along the way until it’s the same as the other top-tier servers, long queues and such, and then they’ll repeat the process. Kaineng is a huge example of this issue. It was ruined for the original players by this. It also ruined the Wv3 matchups in the tiers it was in for weeks after the fact. No one wants this to repeat, and it happened multiple times under the free transfers system.
I understand what you’re saying, I think I oversimplified.
They would need to monitor server pops and adjust cost of transfers on a floating basis (like the Auction House items). Sure someone could set up a huge transfer to work in one hour, but it’s not going to happen often.
Considering how much they have going on already as far as tracking and monitoring I don’t see this as much of an additional strain. They do it with hundreds of thousands of items by the second already. A few thousand transfers wouldn’t add much work for the system.
EDIT: In fact since the transfers are not “in game” but at the char select screen it should be possible to set up a separate server to JUST do this one thing. Very similar to what the auction house does for items and gold/gem prices. But instead it’s server population and floating cost structure for transfers.

You can just “guest” back to your old world to do the PvE stuff that’s too hard for you.
Look it up.
I really can’t understand why you’re upset, they told us BEFORE RELEASE that it was going to happen when they got “guesting” working.
This is the way it was supposed to be at launch but they couldn’t get the guesting system working right in time so they made transfers free till they fixed it.
Also, I think you are EU, but if you are not, I’ll offer to guest to your world and teach you how to play easy. This game is not hard at all. But if you don’t think about it too much it can have a high learning curve.

Why in the world is anyone complaining about how someone else plays? It’s absurd.
We run solo/duo every night, We get zerged a couple times a night. We fight anything up to around 6 and try to slip away from anything more. It’s our enjoyment. We take camps and sentries to try to spread the larger forces out and cut off supplies and people running to/from larger battles. It’s challenging, enjoyable and a total kitten some nights.
On the other hand other people like to have the whole “strategy” portion be the most fun, winning the “big picture” and I have nothing against that as well. If the play is fun for YOU then play that way.
Why belittle each other with worthless kitten measuring arguments?
I like PAXA, we end up in the same spots a lot because basically we’re doing the same thing. We try to respect their “space” and move a different direction when possible. We’ll help with whatever they are doing, then move on. I’m sure they know that if they want any help busting up some larger groups they can just call.
Bottom line:
If you’re a small man group – don’t kitten about being zerged, period. It happens. Put on the ol’ big girl panties and move on!
If you’re a zerger – don’t kitten when you can’t get back to the fight because you’re getting your kitten handed to you everytime you try to get there. because those players in between your camp and that battle are pretty battle hardened and a lot of times know more about YOUR class than YOU do, even if they are playing a different class.

It’s unfortunate that a more convincing case isn’t made for homogenized weapons.
A change like this might mean greater versatility at the cost of slightly lower damage or less healing.
Who is wanting homogenization?
No, I don’t think people are suggesting that. They are suggesting (for the most part) changes that make other BUILDS viable, not an increase in the efficiency of currently accepted builds. There should (as you seem to point towards) no sum gain in power. Just a greater availability of options.
But I may have missed a point somewhere, that’s just the way i read them.

I do agree with Heinel.6548 on one point, that it’s a fine line we need to walk here. The Guardian is in a pretty good state overall. And buffs would need to be minor and geared more towards making other builds besides the bunker AH build more viable.
Having said that, mobility/Counter mobility is an issue we really need to address. There are some really good ideas in this thread. I hope ANet will consider one of them.
And, yes, you CAN build for mobility/counter mobility, but the cost is pretty steep imho when other classes seem to get a good bit of it for “free”.

I’m with George here. I don’t use the “healway” I’m more of a DPS mode but the synergy for attack/escape is the same. I use it solo/duo everyday.

Personally I think ALL of our main hand weapons kinda suck.
But I do use sword, I use imobilize, f1, then the port, then ZD. And while it’s going I hit 5 (focus) for the blocks, switch to 2hs (with chill proc) and go into the spin/leap (if needed). It really is good burst for a Guardian specced the way I am. Normally the person is dead or close at this point. Couple AA’s with the 2hs and then start the rotation all over. I also have the 10% more damage on burning, vulnerability when blinding (port), etc etc. It’s got a MUCH better synergy with my build than any of those other Slow assed weapons.

It’s not ANet’s fault, it’s all the bandwaggoning players running up and down the ladder thinking the grass is greener on the other side.
After the 28th, it will calm then you’ll have to wait for the dust to settle and all will be well again.
Again, it’s NOT ANet’s fault, the players are driving this. People complained about no guesting, so they made free transfers for them. Then people complained about free transfers so they limited them, now people are complaining about them STOPPING free transfers.

lol – i’ve just realised how glass cannon i am with jormag – only 13k health, so 2 hits = downed . . . .BUT my kill credit must be good as yellow/greens from the mobs. IF they do change the loot rewards (more) then i will go back to a bit tankier- BUT if they dont then i think i will carry on with this spec for the drop rate.
Wait, where’s this information from that quality of loot scales with damage/“quality” of kill credit? Or did you just mean more loot overall, so more chance at better loot?

While I understand the thought process behind not allowing names to be seen, this game thrives on the community. How can you build a community with grudges, feuds, competative fun without knowing who the enemy is? In the 20 some odd years I’ve been gaming I’ve always seen the ability to know who your enemy is to be a positive rather than a negative.
I would like to be able to say, “Oh look, it’s Snow’s group! It looks like they are gonna hit the supply camp, lets see if we can ambush them! Watch out for their mesmer Danicam, he hits hard!”
Right now we have nameless huge blobs of non-descript people running around in circles.

I miss the daoc lag, I felt psychic when I noticed even a tinge of lag and could predict enemies coming into visible range a good 5-10 seconds before they could be seen. Could tell about how many by the amount of lag too.
OMG yes, and you could pan your camera and get a general direction too.

No need to run 500 yards north to turn a cliff corner to run 500 yards south to end up 5 feet from where you just were.

Would anyone care to shed some light on this. Seems like a serious issue that may be worth quitting the game over, but i figured the people in the forums would have a wealth of knowledge on this subject before i made the decision to quit or not.
Instead of making the 43rd post on this subject in the last 48 hours. Why didn’t you just read all of the others. There IS a wealth of information in them.

It technically does… you can target them (via tab) the second that they attack.
I honestly have had difficulty with this as well, I tab target like a freakin’ madman, but I’ll actually SEE them a lot of times and STILL have to actually click-target them because the tab-targetting isn’t working well. I am not honestly sure what the reason for this is, but it’s kitten annoying.

Huh? There’s no perma stealth in thieves, only non thieves will say there’s perma stealth. Perma stealth is not the same with culling. You don’t even know what you’re talking about and you want to lobby.
@Musty – Extend reveal timer does not fix culling, culling affects everything that involves rendering in WvW, not limited to thieves. To fix culling, you must fix culling period. There are minor patches like revealing the names first before the actual toon. You’re tunnel visioning on thieves, which is wrong. Stealth is not the problem, there’s no such thing as a perma stealth in fact thieves have SHORT stealths, however, culling happens. SOOO let’s address the culling not the thief.
I know perfectly well how it works, I abused it for a month before I quit playing the thief because it’s crazy OP… On your opponent’s screen there IS perma stealth, the reason for it is immaterial. I see what you are saying but you have to be reasonable.
Those statements were actually supposed to be separate. What I meant was:
Either – add to the revealed timer (hopefully just until they can actually fix culling, then revert the change)
Or – Actually FIX culling.
I do agree that culling affects everyone in WvW and that is unfortunate. But, be honest here… the only class that culling really breaks is thieves. So THAT is why you see so many threads on the subject. It is without a doubt broken I think that either of the above ideas MAY actually keep the thief from being nurfed into the ground. Because if they don’t fix the stealth issue the only other thing they can do is take your “teeth” away. I know thieves don’t want that to happen.
Since I think they cannot do the latter (at least in the short term) then they should implement the former.

I have 5 80s, all in exotics (one is a thief), I play well, I run solo or small group in WvW mostly and I can say without a doubt…
Thieves are OP,
They are one of the easiest classes to play.
The culling issues allow me to stay pretty much perma stealthed.
I can’t even get tab targetted when I AM visible for another second.
I can kill multiple people without even breaking a sweat.
AND if the zerg shows up I can high tail it out of there cackleing wildly the whole time.
DON’T get me wrong! I don’t want the thief nurfed, I WANT CULLING FIXED!!!
And until they fix that I think the hard timer on stealth should be increased by 1 – 1.5 seconds.
