They’re working on fixing it though.

Yesterday my friends did AC all paths, 80s, experienced. Got 3 ppl not level 80 and a guy with 500 Achievement point that was on his first account. I sold Arah path 2 and 4 and got 4 ppl trying to get to us and that didn’t want or understood what was going on when we asked them to pay. Pugs have a hard time with word I guess.

would love it tho, the whole reason why i never play dungeons anymore is because teams are to restricted and players are nowadays not patient enough to slow down and enjoy the time in a dungeon.

CHALLENGING NEW CONTENT

I just got kicked out of a pug for the first time in forever… asked wars to bring warbanner because party kept wiping on golems in aether retreat and I saw the LA loading screen.

Then the whole party told me they got kicked too. I added all 4 of them and they were all still in the fractal so they were conspiring. It’s seriously obnoxious.

the cleric guardian basically just sits there and brain afk tanks bosses while the whole party does basic DPS rotations over and over again which are harder to do in standard parties because of less reliable aggro.

are we having another case of the dungeon community being close minded again?

Like, I actually want to see if the loss of one guy’s damage in a party while making it possible for the rest of the team to optimise their rotations is actually a worthy trade off in the case of fractals (not dungeons obviously, stack might and delete boss in two seconds is normally what happens there). Because in my opinion, to hell with DPS theory if it isn’t even manageable in an actual game situation.

and if it’s actually less efficient to take a cleric guard, then it’s just a matter of case closed, back to using standard compositions. it’s literally a win/win either way.

It’s almost certainly going to be faster with a pug. I mean I pug mossman all the time and the pugs just scramble (myself included) like chickens with their heads cut off. As an engi, I miss tons of grenades, jump shots, etc. My rotation is complete garbage and not maximized at all.

In fact, one of the guys who I regularly run with often will pull out a cleric warrior on mai trin and face tank her if the group is uncoordinated. It’s not going to be the fastest way to do it, but it certainly makes things faster and smoother when you don’t know what the rest of the party is doing.

But will it be faster than a coordinated meta group? Or faster than a group like this:

So, no, if you sit there over 10seconds and you last flamethrower tick is 10k (for example), over those 10 seconds you’ve done a TOTAL of 10k damage, or 1k damage/second.

With grenades or bombs your damage might be 1500 per tick, but if you can tick 10 times per second your total damage will be 15k (for example) or 1.5k per second. FT is bad damage.

350k is the total damage you dealt over that period of time, not a single damage tick.

Can I use non-profession specific roles, or does that count as holy trinity?

Challenging content has to come in the form of complex encounter design which mandates the use of specific game mechanics that are not necessarily profession specific.

When I think of challenging content in this game I think of fire shaman or Lupicus. Fire shaman doesn’t mandate reflects, but is made much much easier with them. Lupicus is kind of a mixed bag but the big thing lots of people bring, especially if soloing, is knowledge and endurance regen.

Dungeons are not off the table! They’re just in the trash can which happens to be on the table! They’re also in the pockets of the dungeon team, which is out the door, but sometimes those people who are not longer with ANET will be sitting at tables, so TECHNICALLY they’re not off the table!

Its like the only legitimately good use for lifesteal in PvE. So i think it would be pretty silly to say its an exploit. Its certainly not cheating. You are using mechanics within the game after all.

So do dark fields still work? I made a thief recently and used SR with P/P and unload and saw the “lifesteal” appear but his health doesn’t move. At first I thought I was too far away, because pistols are what, 900 range? But I tried in a bunch of different spots and couldn’t get it to work.

The sigil definitely still works though.

People are against even opt-in gear checks in great numbers because they fear the peer pressure and the “meta” eventually making this a “forced” thing to even have a chance of getting into a “real” group.

Did you read what I wrote? Four people reported because there were four separate instances by the same people.

I don’t care how fast ANET acts… They responded to my ticket which means they should have investigated the incident.

Also, Chris posted that BECAUSE, as I said, he was backpedalling after the team said that if you get kicked it’s basically on you.

Lastly, as Jerus posted, you have people submitting videos of people stealing instances dozens of times and those people not being banned.

Just the other day 2 people joined in my Arah P1 and kicked me out of it. They did the same to THREE OTHER ARAH P1s. All 4 of us got together, reported in game, got screen shots, reported via the forums.

I received an automated response back that didn’t address the complaint at all, and the people who kicked me are still walking around in game.

Oh, also, after they kicked me out of the instance, which I solod, they posted it on LFG under “Crimson sucks.”

Thus, after years of this BS behavior not being acknowledged or acted upon, I will sit here and fully argue that ANET supports this behavior until they give me reason to believe otherwise.

As for you latest incident, did you send a report?

You also have to take into consideration that reports are looked at at a first come first served basis. If you have a bunch of people sending in reports all the time, it’s going to take time to investigate and action each report. You also aren’t going to recieve notification that any action has been taken. So while you may still see those players in game, how do you know that they didn’t recieve a suspension? Or a warning?. As Colin said, sometimes after players are warned they generally don’t continue to do such things.

Sometimes a perma ban isn’t always issued for every infraction. Also as far as WvW cheaters is concerned, people are banned all the time. While at large the WvW community is saying that nothing is ever done. I would think that the same applies to dungeon parties and kicking.

I check them all, but most cheaters don’t cheat 24/7. That said I knock at least one out every day.

So based on the dev responses, I feel that one can safely assume that such reports don’t go over looked, are investigated and actioned as deemed appropriate.

I received an automated response that wasn’t related and logged in every day after, including after I got my response, and SAW THE OFFENDERS ONLINE ON MY FRIENDS LIST. So, maybe you’re right, maybe they only received a warning after stealing four instances and openly taunting me on the LFG.

But if that’s the case, it’s a terrible system and needs to be reformed, as people have been arguing since the game launched.

So, again, I maintain that ANET supports this behavior.

IMHO I don’t think any changes need to be made to the current party system. The real problem is lack of accountability of people hijacking parties. Solution, add a “Griefing” option in the reports menu and let internal GM’s take care of the issue.

reporting is a bad option. It requires you first to get victimized, then maybe, eventually there is repercussions.
Also it uses resources in man hours.

Better to create a system that makes griefing less likely, and then people can report less griefing. (you can report someone for greifing already, its just not a drop down)

And pray tell how they do that? Dont they have multiple reaponses about this very thing? An that you should report? Werent they working on changing the kick system to help deter these things from happening?

They changed the dungeon owner system so the owner has no protection against this behavior.

They said (then later backtracked) that if you get kicked after using the lfg it’s on you and they can’t do anything about it.

They automate responses to requests you put in reporting griefers without reading the report.

IOW they support this kind of behavior because it promotes guilds being social and dungeon sellers being skewered.

I don’t post regularly on the forums, but this is becoming a growing problem.

I just spent 2 hours in a higher level fracs (29 is high for me), and everything was fine until we got to the last boss. As soon as we started fighting the Jade Maw.. I got kicked. And so did the other person in the party. Two people from the same guild kicked two of us at the end and filled it with their guildmates.

It really bothers me that I won’t know if anything will be done about this… or the fact that this can still go on and is still going on right now.

I hope this is legal to post the guild name… but do avoid “Esque In Finem” or (END). Their guild kicks other party members and invites their own guildmates.
