Sure, higher DPS helps move through mechanics faster, but … fun fact: speed clear is not what the raid is tuned for. It’s tuned to be achievable by people who don’t know the mechanics, don’t have the “optimal” composition for speed clearing, and do deal with all those extra rounds of the mechanics.

The same thing is true of the overall kill as of the individual phases: unless your problem is that you run out of healing within two percent of the phase end, every single time, and are doing the mechanics correctly … DPS from the “optimal” class vs the next twenty best is not your real problem.

That in no way had anything to do with what I said. If you have good dps you don’t have to deal with the things that trouble inexperienced groups (mechanics). The fact of the matter is that if your group is failing mechanics you can improve that by having better dps. So yes a dps meter helps groups who are having trouble with mechanics too.

Opened recruitment for a Druid main in addition to the Chrono main we are still looking for.

I still wonder why it’s not OK for there to exist content that you say, “this isn’t for me so I’ll just not do it.” I don’t understand why raids are this weird game mode where certain players feel entitled to a certain accessibility.

Really please do explain how warriors have a great time sustaining in T4 fractals without support.

Two options: don’t get hit, or play with a druid. If you want to argue that a necro is better at not getting hit because they can range DPS, so can a condi warrior and a condi warrior will bring more team buffing while doing it.

I’ve been seeing this “warriors should use Defense in fractals and raids” cancer a lot lately. It really makes me said to see that Druids have lowered the skill cap of the game so badly that when faced with playing without a druid people have to play completely trash builds to compensate for it.

Somehow we managed to do original fractal 80s back when everything one shot you in full berserker builds without gimping our comps and no healer. I think that people can easily play faceroll fractals now without a healer if they take the time to learn to play.

Lots of people use seaweed salad on power druid for extra dps. Doesn’t really affect Astral force however.

this is situational, depends on what boss ur facing. but in 65% of encounters in fractals/raids, condi is better, if u can melee the boss 100%, zerk phalanx is better, if not, condi phalanx

I don’t think it’s really that situational. Condi is at least equal to power on every raid boss except KC and better on a good most of them. Melee ability has very little to do with it but ofcourse if you can’t melee condi is way better.

Quantify agrees with me except at sloth where I say condi is better and they disagree. Even in the bosses we disagree on the difference in dps is basically nothing.

I’m not sure where I’m losing you guys. You don’t need Defense in pve even in the hardest content. After I point this out I’m told “lol how do you fight 10 mobs at once?!” Well I’d like to know what and where and why you’re fighting 10 mobs at once.

Please post the HOT encounters you think require Defense and I’ll post a video killing those mobs on core warrior without Defense.

Edit: To make this more worthwhile, why don’t you go ahead and tell us what your sustain is when being swarmed by 10 HoT mobs? You have two dodges, one heal and some stances, now go ahead. I am toast without AH, so enlighten me.

I kill the mobs. Arc divider blood reckoning arc divider hundred blades kills almost anything in open world and you’re effectively invulnerable while blood reckoning is up. If you don’t have that use wwa to do damage and blade trail to cripple them yo enable you to kite the mobs.

I can’t believe this is a real conversation in 2016.

I really do wish for you to explain yourself though. What about this suggestion is amateurish? Do you see this as not working from a functionality standpoint? Would implementing this suggestion break something else in combat? Or perhaps you think ANet has done well in their combat design which has brought about ‘the meta’ and you don’t think the meta should be a lie? From your videos it’s very clear that the meta isn’t a lie (you make that argument very well) and it also seems likely you think the meta shouldn’t be a lie. Overly complicated solutions to non-problems dont really require in depth critique. All I have to do, as others have already done, is to say the problem he is describing isn’t a problem and thus any solution is nonsensical.

While I agree with most, why condi for sloth? Condies get cleared every cc phase and your cc contribution is low at best.

Condi gets better dps on sloth by a little bit. Thats predicated on Power using Dumplings. If Power is able to go back to using Dragons Breath Buns without Might suffering Power would be slightly better.

You can take the bombs at sab with condi if you want but really that’s a very trivial point.

If you eat the shoots on warrior at sloth I’m not sure why you’re worried about efficiency since your group obviously isnt.

Condi is far superior at xera and again I’m not sure why you’re arguing with me about efficiency when your group isn’t doing it as efficient as possible.

As far as fractals goes you’re probably killing everyone with social awkwardness and you aren’t aware of it that’s why you got kicked. With condi you just stand 200 range away from melee and get just as good if not better results with less downsides.

The point of all this is you’re arguing with me saYing power is just as good if you use pug strats and don’t care about efficiency. That’s true but if you’re using basic pug strats nothing really “matters” you could replace a warrior entirely with something else. This thread is ostensibly about doing things efficiently or the “meta” way so it doesn’t surprise me you disagree.

In the last year or so we switched from an always open recruiting policy with multiple nightly raid teams to a single raid team and recruited sporadically by invite only in order to increase the quality of our raids and cohesiveness of our community. We offer our members spots in a nightly raid and fractal groups with players who know their stuff and get things done. You gain access to one of the most prestigious guild tags in the game and most importantly you join a real community and get to play with friends.

We have re-opened recruitment temporarily in order to add a new member to the team. Are you that player? If you are, the following apply to you:

Able to make our 7pm EST raid call. We raid Sunday through Thursday. We take Friday and Saturday night off. We don’t require members to attend every raid night, nor do we have room for everyone to attend every night. However, we expect you to be available at minimum 3 raids per week. This is extremely important, a member who shows up once or twice a week and has conflicts the other nights is useless to us. We maintain a small roster, we cannot afford to have flakes on it.

Able to use voice chat. This shouldn’t be an issue in 2016, but if you don’t have a mic or you’re shy about talking on voice please don’t apply. We want raiders who will make clear, consistent, and accurate calls.

You have a drive to improve. If you aren’t constantly learning and improving, you’re falling behind. What would have been considered a very good raider a year ago would be mediocre now. The GW2 elite PvE community is constantly improving and people are constantly innovating new tactics and strategies. At the micro level people are constantly refining their gameplay and class expertise. To keep up, you have to have the self-motivated drive to succeed. We won’t make you spend time on the test golem practicing rotations. We won’t make you join PuGs or casual friend side groups in order to get more practice in real boss pulls or to sharpen play on alts. We won’t mandate you do these things: they are what we would expect you to do anyway.

Profession mastery. We do not expect you to be an expert on every profession and able to play every role perfectly. We only ask for two. If we are recruiting, for example, an Elementalist main, you should be able to do everything we expect a main Elementalist to be able to do, including hitting the DPS benchmarks. While we want you to avoid burnout, we expect you to play your main most of the time and to play that character at the highest level. We also expect your main-alt gameplay to be nearly as high as your main. In addition to the baseline stuff like DPS rotations and knowledge of different builds and when to use them, we expect you to have mastered your main (and hopefully main alt) to the extent that you know lot’s of the little niche tricks of that class that only a main would know.

Non-raid knowledge. While we primarily look for quality raiders, we expect you to know how to speed run fractals and dungeons too.

Don’t be annoying. Most members of DnT are 21+ and have day jobs. If you are into e-Drama, e-Dating, cancerous memes, being creepy, being stalkerish, or otherwise being unpleasant to hangout with on voice chat, please don’t apply. I know most annoying people don’t consider themselves to be annoying, but use this moment to self-reflect.

Main Chronomancer. A main chrono who can play both tank and alt chrono (and has gear for both). We expect you to be able to have all currently Quickness rotations with both Domination and Illusions. We expect you to know when to use each variant on an encounter by encounter basis. We expect you to have your different builds (tank, alt, etc) geared.

Druid For druid we expect you to have gearing to play both Berserker, and Condi. Magis/Minstrel is optional. Your condi druid dps rotations should be solid enough to play DPS Ranger if needed.

They should enable you to get spirit shards without doing the raid mastery. Simple oversight.

But that said, escort was literally developed to be easy enough for anyone to do. If you haven’t managed to do escort it’s because you either: haven’t tried; don’t want to try; would prefer to wait for anet to correct the oversight than solve your own problem. All of those are fine and up to you but don’t try to BD us and say that you tried for SO LONG and put SO MUCH effort in but still couldn’t manage to get trio or escort done. I will accept indifference or apathy but I won’t accept a lie.

As far as LI requirements go, i would actually ban people for it if i could. This is just toxic behavior created by community.

I don’t have the guts to pug dungeons anymore, but I can easily imagine how they look. People have become complete trash. First sign that gives away how bad the group is, is the composition. You often see people playing necros or double/triple warrior and they don’t even care enough to relog to a different class that would be a milion times more useful. They don’t swap weapons outside of combat for mobility and blasts, don’t swap utility skills or traits, don’t even play proper rotations.

Basically it’s impossible to have a decent dungeon run at this point, because everyone capable of pulling that off is not interested in dungeons anymore.

I got a lot of negativity from thr reaction to that video but guess it turns out I was right.

In what aspect of pve is defense discipline berserker the standard? I don’t think a pvp build is the best suggestion to give to somebody failing in pve.

Where would the Might come from to power Phalanx Strength? You need Forceful Greatsword which is in strength line. If you then lose Berserker you are now down about 20% damage or more. What traits in defense are worth that? If you’re dying too much its because you need to practice more and rebind your dodge button to something more handy.
