This matchup was hard on Maguuma as explained previously. FA dominates during the day with their zerg and SoS at night with their zerg. FA seems to always be at the right place at the right time for some reason with their zerg. SoS zerg is pretty massive and slow moving. I really like how they show no qualms about dropping 10 trebs, 10 cata, 20 rams on a tower. Maguuma is a bit more stingy on siege probably because we have fewer numbers.

And thats the entire point, you guys aren’t vastly outnumbered. But it probably feels like it to a lot of you because all your forces are just sitting at a supply camp.

And stingy on siege? Please, just go look at the previous page. You guys absolutely LOVE siege. I’ve seen maguuma get into so many inner walls then setup trebs, catas, arrow carts. Of all the WvW I’ve done since the game released, you guys use MORE siege than any server I have seen, period. You guys also waste your use of siege more than any server I have seen.

Anyhow, don’t go around chest thumping until you’re in our position with lower numbers and then having to contend with massive zerg 24/7 + the occasional hacker.

I’ve been in WvWvW several times during this matchup and during FA and SOS primetime we’ve always been outnumbered. Maybe you’re running in your 10 man group and complain that Maguuma is outnumbering you.

I’ve been in the GOONs for various games. Loved playing with them in EVE. If you were actually reading, I said we were looking forward to being matched with their server because they typically have many people and that means more fights. Instead they have many people all in a single spot.

I’ve seen many people call the server MaGOONba or MaGOONa… I thought it was a good nickname. If GOONs don’t like it, then I wont use it, apologies. However it would seem very odd for a GOON to be offended by a nickname, typically their guilds/clans say “have a thick skin or GTFO”.

Not all of us are in Goons and I’ve never heard anyone use MaGoonba. Sounds like a derisive name to me. Also you pretty much try to summarize the whole matchup from a few events such as Ramalot and such. That’s wrong and your attempts at chest thumping by saying we have equal number is inaccurate. I think when you run with your zerg you only see 20 people when there are 80. This invisi zerg has warped your mind.

“A few events” that have been the only times Maguuma has shown up in force to WvW this matchup. During these “events” (which happen every night) Maguuma has more than enough people (with multiple individual/presumably organized guilds representing in numbers) but instead of actually fighting across the map they take one Camp/Tower/Keep and focus on that for the entire night. It just seems like a waste of resources. Wouldn’t it be more fun to actually contribute to the fight even knowing you won’t be on the scoreboard?

You’re not our mother, we can do what we want. Obviously the events are pissing you guys off so it’s working as intended….

The friendlies on the minimap are not invisible. All their dots show. That’s how people have been posting screenshots to Anet to prove there is a huge issue with the player culling. So no, I’m not running with some huge zerg that I don’t know is there… I’m always checking the minimap to see where our people are to try and coordinate attacks.

Its odd that you guys are being defensive. You posted pictures showing that you basically gave up by rallying up in a single supply camp. That right there tells me you no longer wish to go capture anything on the map… which is giving up, plain and simple. You can call it chest thumping or whatever, I’m just letting you know its dissapointing. But stop being defensive when the previous page is nothing but bragging about giving up and excuses like player population.

You seem confused, perhaps your corp leadering in Eve hasn’t sent you the proper memo yet. However, in light of our recent IPO on the NASDQ (GOUT) we’ve adopted a different approach. We require all of our members to be well trained in political correctness and hold monthly roundtables to advance our new image.

As we are trying very hard to improve our image, we’d like to officially ask you no longer use that name, as we are offended by it, and we have thin skins, or Kindly Leave.

Obviously you hate GOONs too. You just don’t get that not everyone on this server is from GOON including me.

In light of your post, we’ll be sure to redouble our keggers at supply camps. I can only hope that you redouble your whiny posting in return, and we can both benefit.

Actually I have had fun, against SoS over the weekend when I had time to play late against them. Its just MaGOONba that is specifically boring to fight, since you guys… well you don’t do anything. If it sounds like whining to you, then cool, I’m glad that entertains you. I only commented because of what I quoted in my previous post. Something about not having enough people, yet still dominating. Yet all I see is TONS of people on Maguuma, and us winning with fewer numbers because we spread out and take the entire map and not just 1 supply camp. If you guys are really proud of holding a camp like that, cool, I won’t even setup trebs and ruin the ram layout… I’ll even petition Anet to rename it MaGOONba supply camp. My point is, that’s ALL you guys do and its a bit dissapointing. Friday when the matchup swapped we were all in voice chat talking about how this will be a fun matchup because GOONs have huge numbers, so primtime will have tons of battles all over every zone. Instead, its 90% FA owning the map. Last week we lost pretty hard to Blackgate/Dragonbrand, but it was a blast because there was always a keep siege going on or trebs that needed sniped.

How about WvW progression involving gems? Each rank up you would get gem rewards along with unlocking of armor skins. That would help drive the PvE folks to WvW and make it profitable for people to fight for their server.

The mesmer boss in the Forward/Up path caused our group to completely crash from the game three times in a row. The first two times we had 2 necro, 2 mesmer and an elementalist. The last time we had 2 necro 2 mesmer and a guardian. We thought maybe our pets were causing a glitch so we turned our pets off in the last fight and it still crashed our game. In the past, I’ve seen it caused the game crash once but last night we crashed 3 times straight and then gave up.

Open field, I find necro is the best tank in the field. Imagine this:

Use Heal
Use Plagueform
Use Heal

Just imagine how much hp your oponent has to burn through. In all that time, if you’re a condition mancer stacked with toughness, your dots will be killing them faster then they could kill you.

You can’t blame Maguuma for being kitten when we put in money for defense and have it all unravel because of someone on your server hacking the orb or flying into keeps.

Spectral grasp is bad because it does not adjust to player movement real well and it takes a while to get to the player. Only time I found it useful is when I try to pull players off the wall that are just standing still.

Translation: He’s laughing at two hackers fighting each other midair.

It’s tough to put down gold to defend when you got hackers on the other side that makes those defense obsolete.

In our battle with Yak and Ebay, Magumma did well because all three are fighting each other. In this matchup, it’s basically 1v1 24/7. Maguuma versus FA during the day and Magumma versus SoS during the night. That’s why FA and SoS are close in point and Magumma is last.

FA zerg during the day. SoS zerg during the night. They just take turn against Maguuma. Add in a few exploit here and there to make it all easier for them.

Suggestion: Can Anet at least create circles on the ground representing enemy players even though their character and actions are not rendered? It would hopefully load faster and allow us to fight and invisible army.

As a necro you have two blind skills to deal with the dog. Well of Darkness will give you 5 seconds. Plagueform blindness will give you 20 seconds. In 25 seconds, you guys should be able to at least kill half the dogs.

Felt like it did but the Blindness works great for tanking in plague form.

I really like the Plague form using Blindness + chill with trait. It’s a 20 second damage reduction and stability + AE chill, blind and poison. Couple that with DS and I am a tank. I’ve used the form to push crowd and was amazed at how long I could live while focus fired.

I was interested in using this sigil on the staff for CC purpose. Does anyone know if Marks work with this sigil? I haven’t really looked to see if Marks caused criticals or whether all mobs that get a critical hit from a single mark would be affected by the sigil.

Spectral Walk change was a buff in my mind. Most of the time I find that I just double clicked it for swiftness or to get out of stun. It was few and far in between where I would use it for a suicide charge.

I agree. I’m in a small guild and it would be helpful to participate with other small guilds for WvW, pvp and dungeon runs. Alliances would help out the small guilds greatly.
