Yep, we have another one, building rams next to the supply depot in the keep on SFR EB as of 1.05am UK time.

Gotta love the dedication these people show, being logged on their alt a/c for hours at a time glancing over and draining that keep.

Just as an aside, how many times have you died to rangers compared to how many you managed to solo kill?

Join FSP, then park your alt a/c in SFR’s spawn area to ensure your 80 man FSP 2-3 guild blob has a chance of beating the pugmander’s 20.

I see huge Kodash and FSP blobs on EB whilst guilds go to the BL’s looking for fights and struggle to find them (until the guild blob moves from EB to their own BL).

Generally SFR loses ground in primetime as the wvw guilds are only interested in looking for fights of 20 or so, whilst the blobbers run around capping.

If there is a good fight to be had inside a keep or garri then ofc guilds will join in, making for some epic battles.

Suggestion: Turn off event rewards/Champ loot

Terrible idea. Reward for defending given every three minutes= let’s just defend for a few hours. Let’s all stay in our towers all match and not bother capturing anything- it only gives them free siege anyway..

Run your alt account to a tower, trigger the timer, allow defenders to kill you= free loot for defenders. By the time you get back you can do it all again.

Some people only play wvw, so removing the loot makes it even more unviable.

They need to make real wvw more attractive to players (eoTM doesn’t count) and redesign the whole loot system so contributing to the game gives rewards globally to those on the map (but without rewarding the leechers).

Let me clear that up for you. At level 20+ you are locked into a trait line that you did not want, and that you cannot change or unlock another until level 31 (or is it 41?)

Untrue. You can slot only one traitline, but you can start unlocking a second one immediately, and just change over.
I’d also like to point out that before the change your level 20 had no traits whatsoever. That means that contrary to being broken, your character actually got upgraded to what it was before.

Start unlocking it how exactly- my toon is level 26 and not going anywhere. It’s stuck with a traitline that isn’t what I would have unlocked given the choice, which is exactly what level 80 players can do.

Anet basically told us to ‘play the Anet way, tough luck’ on lower level toons.

And if you think about it for a bit, when I start unlocking a second trait line at whatever level it becomes available, i still can’t get those points back on the ruined traitline, so it’s still no where near the choice I would have taken if i started a new toon. At 41 or whatever I’d have maybe one skill on a traitline that I want instead of 4. it only becomes possible to fix when I have enough points to open 4 trait lines, at which point I would have enough to remove the unwanted one and replace it with one I do want.

Until then, the toon is kitten compared to where a fresh toon without Anet’s ‘play it this way, tough’ system would be.

Siege Masters Guide you currently buy with skill points to make superior siege, is this going to change to a difference currency to purchase such as badges or gold? or replaced with something else?

Maybe they can’t appoint someone from the EU as it would be subject to the Human Rights Act and if they suffer from infractions and a lack of freedom of speech a case would be taken in the European Court of Human Rights? (haha).

Seriously though, restricting it to US based players only isn’t a good idea, whatever reasons are put forward for it.

Perhaps a better solution would be to appoint one from USA to cover USA issues and one from EU, as we are all aware that the issues and playstyles are slightly different between the two regions.

As for being disqualified for infractions, just use an alt account, problem solved:-)

The only thing you can say for certain is that buying GW2 expansion will be pretty much mandatory for all pvp players and wvw players.

Other than that, I see a lot of builds being destroyed (many use more than 3 trait lines, and by my reading the elite line takes up one of those too, so you’re left with a choice of two and an elite line?).

However, there is potential for a lot of new builds too and no doubt a new meta will emerge after a few months.

Do the WvW commander colors mean anything?

Your pet can have the same effect of blocking your shots, as can the slightest bump.

Expect your typical firing pattern against anything (especially humans) to read ‘blocked, blocked, blocked, evaded, missed, blocked, hit, evaded, hit, blocked’.

i feel the verticality and sharp angles of the map will definitely break zergs apart. i hope there is still room for open field fights somewhere, hopefully over some important objective!

I think that’s the perfect mix, overall small and coordinated group on the map that can rejoin on the last final objective.
Zerging should be an option, not the standard as it is today…

I think the verticality and sharp angles will encourage AC and bally usage along with fears, and the only way past will be by zerging it, as a small squad won’t be able to survive.

Players are very good at figuring out where to place siege so it hits you whilst being unable to hit it…

Skyhammer —> borderland bloodlust --> EoTM.

All three failed miserably.

The new BL is a natural extension of this progression. It’s pretty clear this will not end well.

What does skyhammer have to do with WvW? if you have issues with PvP maps, your welcome to discuss it over there.

Bloodlust on the other hand was not even remotely a failure. I can only guess that you are not aware of its value. In my circles, it is well received and everyone I have spoken to enjoys it. Your circles may have a different opinion, but I see generally positive discussion on it in the forums and almost no complaints.

It will end just fine. The sky is not falling. The fact that you have to stretch, to latch on to PvP to make your WvW excuses, and your misunderstanding of bloodlust’s value, are evidence of that.

Would any one claiming the map is a problem, mind sketching it out for us? I mean you seem to believe you are familiar with it in its entirety. Would you mind drawing it in detail for the rest of us? That way we no your not simply making uninformed claims.

I mean if I was endless amounts of claims of the sky falling, I will leave a chicken little movie on repeat.

I’m not sure who all these people ‘everyone I have spoken to enjoys it’, maybe it’s the other Anet employees you work with?

Check out the many posts (those that weren’t deleted at least) that said exactly what people thought of the bloodlust changes, the silly circles (with no reward for standing there like a lemon), and the removal of the fun underwater fighting area.

People are free to express their opinion about what they have seen on the new map so far- and many, many people have said how bad cliffs, etc (and now npc wind gusts, really? how lame can it get?) are. Rubbishing other’s opinions and being a white knight where everything is rosy and fine is all well and good, but try and have a little more respect for those that have played wvw at least as much as you.

Will the new map bring back all those players that have quit playing? After the first couple of weeks, probably not.

Will I be playing their a revenant ignoring fearmancers whenever I can keep my boon up, yes. Otherwise it will be a 5 man necro fearmancer team throwing entire zergs off cliffs with timed fears and boon stripping (bye bye stability).

What do you guys think the price will be?

I just hope that the converted sterling price is the same as the US dollar price, unlike the current gems price which is way higher in euros/sterling than the same amounts in US Dollars.

How long is this ‘week’ he speaks of?

I’m pretty sure he took the job thinking that he could work through a topic a week and that Anet would be willing and able to act on those reports, having already set up a structure to accept them, process and start work on some changes.

Sadly, looks like he’s not even been told who to report to, so this topic looks about as useful as last year’s CDi (yes, the great comm badge fiasco).

Sorry, but I can’t be more positive than that.

I was just looking through his post, and I do not see any mention of “weekly”. I do not see any specific time frames mentions. It appears he said “periodically”.
