Make it so that you need to get an ascended piece of gear in order to unlock the agony infusion slot for that exact piece, make this an additional, account-wide slot and leave the original slot for the non-AR infusions. Also add stronger infusions.

That would be a way to lessen the annoyance of getting enough AR on multiple chars while still having a reason to get ascended gear on multiple characters. Though I feel like this idea is not going to be much liked.

You don’t have to exclude classes, you have to exclude players who want to os, same as if you exclude players who stack and so on…

The point is, you can say “no OS” and you still have players who go in and OS him. In case of people who don’t stack/play meta/whatever you’ll see that in the beginning and can kick accordingly. What do you do at Lupi? You only have that one chance and most pugs push him to the wall regardless if they want to OS him or not. So if there’s someone with the capability to OS him and he’s at the wall, it might just happen because we all know, people do not like to read.
Only other solution would be to fight him open field.

If they said that, that’s pretty good then. While some outfits do look nice, I’m not a fan of the fact that most “armors” that get into the game are outfits by now, seeing how you can’t mix and match them. It only saves ANet time/money.

Naw, certainly not likely, but I’ve been close. If you have a decent warrior together you can do most of the work, he tosses his banner out, FGJ and OMM along with axe/mace vuln on the hug, if everyone else can just stand under him you’re going to be pretty close.

And even without any coordination I want to say he’s usually about 30% after my feedback if they at least get under him, and from there screw it, an easy solo usually (biggest pain is phase 1 on mesmer).

Of course, but I still think that’s a whole lot better than having 4 people waiting for some guard to blow Lupi up. Sure, there’s pugs who will blow him up regardless and that’s unavoidable (except if they make it so you can’t push him further than, say, 5% into the next phase) , but those will be somewhat a minority.

Yesterday joined a “50 exp swamp” not expecting any class composition but we ended getting an average meta group(1 war 1 guard 1 ele …) and the engie who opened the group.
I position myself near wisp and promptly say “r” ,so does the engie and the warrior, however the warrior is not near any wisp and dying!
I asked what was he ready for if he was not near any wisp, dunno why someone took his pain and said he was, but clearly middle of the map does not count a near wisp, but still he was dying a lot.
Interrogated, he broke it down: “its my first fractal ever so lets start it!”, i tried explaining that without proper gear he was gonna keep dying that he need to start playing 1 to 10 but no “i always start from top to bottom.” At that point i just left wondering what just happened.
I join other party and here it is the engie, saying he left too because he and hist guard friend wont budge XD

OP is basically saying:

1. Pugs may wear zerker gear but have trash builds/don’t know how to play
2. Necros and Ranger pugs might play better than an Ele, thus you shouldn’t kick on sight
3. When pugging, don’t expect zerker; since people got the game through whatever means, they can choose armor/builds they want to play
4. People need to turn their brain on, regardless of build and still adapt, i.e. make the best out of their setup. This includes weaponswapping, blasting fields while thinking of upcoming encounters (don’t toss your banner to blast stealth/might, use warhorn instead and swap) and whatnot

Basically play how you want but play with your brain turned on

I’ve gone ahead and looked into this myself and there isn’t really much to say here. We screwed up. An entirely embarassing situation here, as one of our newer GMs made the mistake of flagging your girlfriend as cheating when in reality she was using Omnomberry Ghost.

Just trying to think of words here to justify this one escape me. Thankfully, when these bans happen we have something to fall back to in order to make sure there wasn’t a mistake…and well…we made a mistake.

Ugh, those tryhard guilds are the worst.

A friend of mines was in a guild for a long time, then overnight they decided they were going to be a dungeon speedrun guild, and started making it mandatory for people to run certain classes in the runs, or they’d be kicked from the guild. In the end my friends little sister – who’s 16 – was all but kicked out by a bunch of grown adults for maining a necro in what was always a casual guild. Bunch of kittens.

Anyway, i’d played with them before, and they were kinda bad, so i asked to go on runs with them to see for myself if they were suddenly elite speedrunners. They were not. They kept insisting on the perfect food, not starting without checking my traits and gear, explaining everything to me beforehand like i’d never run CoE before, harpy feather nonsense…etc. At the start they went for the big pull of all the ele’s/wolves, and failed miserably three times before deciding to just do it the safe way. Alpha was amazing too, with me always being the only one who could count to two before dodging his AoE’s.

We did a Lv9 fractal afterwards too (I said we should at least go for 10, but apparently harpy knockbacks weren’t worth it xD), and they were hilariously bad. Me and my friend basically duo’d it since they were on their kitten the entire time.

Terrible players, terrible people.

idk, free exploration inside dungeons would be enough for me, but that probably wouldn’t work out as well in some dungeons, except they remove all barriers for free exploration and just let all bosses spawn/give a new NPC who follows us around.
I’d dig a full exploration of Arah in one go with a nice reward (who am I kidding) at the end, just for kittens and giggles. Also, would be interesting to see how people adjust routes in order to get through the whole thing the fastest.
But I see how that’s not a really feasible idea, sooo…

Did Arah Fullrun PuG tonight. Or atleast, I tryed to. 1hr 30 Minutes for 4+2, then I left after we managed to kill belka after a few horrible skip fails.
Best part was the thief laying a blackpowder field right inside like 10 spawned grubs from the previous fails. After p2 I leave, wishing them good luck…what happened then can be seen in the screenshots.

PS: I advertised as “no OS Lupi”, and I’m the guardian that “failed” the OS.

Welp, I’m pretty neutral towards the raid. It’s nice they actually try, as this is already more than we’re used to, but I’m going to keep the expectations for the raid and future updates low. Would be neat if it turns out to be good and well supported, though. /totallynotlate

Admittedly, I didn’t play Revenant so I don’t know what the skill looks like, but a better solution would’ve most likely been to let you cancel the skill if necessary (in case that wasn’t possible before) instead of giving it dodge frames. If you just spam a strong skill with such a drawback, you deserve to take damage, really. Well, I hope it’s strong at least.

Again, I don’t know how the skill actually works, so if there’s something about the skill that actually makes the dodgeframes justified, disregard what I said.

Just saying, “reflect” and “absorbing/destroying” are different terms, so it’s likely going to work in a way that projectiles are simply being blocked instead of being reflected, which is still good enough.

God forbid if there’s anything you can’t gain easily/by throwing money at it or the game introduces any form of variety. It’s fine as is, every gametype has some items you can only get that, there’s fine. Why should you get everything thrown after you in every gamemode, that defeat the purpose of a MMO.

Suck it up, really. Do it and find out if you really don’t enjoy fractals; if you don’t, you get the backpiece and nope out as fast as you can, if you do, you found new content for you to play. There’s things I want but can’t get too (mainly the PvP armors) but I think PvP is boring and whatnot, so I just don’t it because I don’t want it >that< much. If I really were to want it, I’d just do some PvP because hey, I might change my mindset since I didn’t play PvP in a very long time.

Also as has been said, legendary items give no statbonuses whatsoever, so it’s only the skin you’re going after (and, well, the ability to change stats on the fly)

Didn’t read the whole thread, but in regards to speedrunning/competitions; You could make records for each scale. That would be a ton of records though.

Besides a few good changes this doesn’t sound too good to me yet.
Not a fan of single fractals at all and I feel like this is going to get abused a lot.
Fractal level 100 could be a lot of fun though, given the instabilities aren’t stupid.

Let’s say you were going for ascended drops. With the new update on being able to change ascended equipment to the stats you want with a maximum of 15 gold needed to do so, what would you do to get ascended drops?

A. Go do lvl 40 and 50 fractals in hopes of getting ascended equipment boxes.

B. Pay 15 to 20 gold each and everyday to join a FOTM party and make your gold at Silverwastes on the time spent normally trying to finish a lvl 40+ fractal.

I’d always run the fractals on my own because farming silverwastes is extremely boring imo and fractals are much more fun, also it feels better gaining those boxes myself.

I prefer being able to choose what people to play with and being able to kick those who don’t want to play as a group, replacing this with a purely random system would be horrible.

I think the suggestion was for adding to and not replacing the current system. One of the causes is because players get impatient after waiting a ridiculously short amount of time and join whatever team is open. If we had a “don’t care get me on any team” button then those pugs can get on the way and while they can grouse that their teammates don’t know what the heck they are doing they can’t complain about the unfairness of it cause they know what they could get using such a team matching system.

If it’s an addition, I wouldn’t mind. Not as a replacement, though.

Actually I only go for those alone in que so I know which one put that LFG. It doesn’t take down their group and I am gone in 4 clicks.
For littler interaction for me than staring at their name.

It should be obvious that I join/block/leave to assure I interact as little as possible with those people.

You purposefully interfere with others’ attempts to form their groups, something that impacts you not at all since they are not actively messaging you to join.

You are actively choosing to interact with them (joining their groups) in order to avoid interacting with them despite the fact that they are actively attempting to avoid interacting with you (by advertising the nature of the group so that you know to not join).

I do not wish to ever interact them. In any aspect of the game. In any group. ever. Gear pings, no x class, “no scrubs”, and other such nonsense come from people I wish to not interact with. That sort of “fun” does not mark one a pleasant person.

Then why do you join them in the first place? That counts as interaction. If you don’t join them, you have no interaction with them.
By the way, blocking people doesn’t prevent them from joining your groups, just fyi.
