why do people keep posting this kitten? The ease for some classes to add confusion via the perlexity runes greatly outpaces the cooldowns on stability, not to mention the methods of stripping boons.

perplex runes are broken, anet knows about it but too lazy to change anything because its not on their “priority list”

its not low gpu related because it happens to me and i don’t play on a rig from Best Buy. When you use MI, affected phantasms will get the realistic body when coming from stealth.
i think by now everyone knows it gives you quickness as well and i don’t remember saying the trait is useless, read please. You don’t have any delays but pets do (~1sec) and when quickness lasts only for 3sec that 1sec of delay on your pet makes a difference
What is the point of giving your swapped pet 3sec of quickness when they don’t attack instantly and have a delay? I would suggest a change for this skill to you gaining quickness on pet swap but the pet only gains quickness after its first successful attack.
There’s no hope for physics in this game, Havok is only there for the show. Just look at how poorly walls in wvw are destroyed lol N64 had the same kind of destruction.
you don’t refuge inside a ball of people… thanks god you have access to shadow steps and other stealth utilities.
@yolo so you’d say a zerker nec is better to solo roam than a zerker BS thief? then please tell me why almost every single time you’ll find a person alone that is there to solo roam//duel is always a thief? Thief has mobility to help you survive in zerker gear plus stealth, you can’t beat that for survival unless you’re on a warrior with sword/shield+GS and some mobility utilities.

Actually, you’re a lot safer in a group zerg then roaming solo as a berserker, as the large amount of players on either end provides a better cover for actually doing damage.
And most thief players will go zerker/valk anyways, since our class has hardly any build diversity.

yeah stealth for maximal 11 secs with standing still 5secs wow 0.o impressive. you are mixing too many builts in your complaints (backstab is D/D, the nerf goes to S/D, the “perma” invis is D/P) and i dont even bring out the traits you are also mixing.
As a thief i dont want a buff tbh the nerf is most for sPvP so i can look over it all i want is a rework of “steal” and more possibility playstyles with the weapons we already have…… i and think even other classplayer could agree with that
you have 10sec of stealth in a normal BS builds from refuge, this isn’t enough to disengage whole zergs?
what do you mean you can’t? i do it with blink all the time… it doesn’t work on all but it works in plenty of spots. also about the pull out of refuge, not all classes can do it and and class/skills that can are normally on long CD. if you see a GS mesmer rushing at your refuge and you haven’t seen him use iWave during the fight, maybe its good time to dodge when he/she gets close.

It’s a lot more obvious as to where a lone thief will be if he stealths then it is if he’s in a zerg, and even moreso if he does stealth.
doesn’t matter. you have extremely long lasting stealth from refuge and can climb up cliffs with infiltrator arrow to lose your target

Thief is probably by far the most efficient and easiest class to solo/level with and Elementalist is probably the hardest.
Nah, wrongo. Thief is pretty easy to level using Sword/Pistol, I’d have to say the easiest is again, the pve king, warrior, while mesmer is definitely the hardest, or at least the most tedious. Most mesmer players say that their class doesn’t become fun until about level forty or so.
its not “not fun” its just bad when you don’t have access to deceptive evasion or at least IC which is grandmaster now=more painful to level since nerf.

It seems you’re operating under the assumption that our target is standing still, and we’re both in full zerker gear.
A WvW thief (a good one) does not run full zerker gear, I personally run full Valkyrie for WvW.

Then why are you saying that a thief can just c/d-backstab-heartseekerheartseeker-stomp, when the only time this would be applicable is when you’re fighting a low armor class using berserker gear?
well that’s just false. the thief nor the enemy need to be “low armor class using berserker gear” to go passed 6k backstabs (especially in wvw with food and bloodlust). Not only that but you have access to spammable evades on S/D.

I’m telling you, try it. Roll a thief, go to spvp and try it. If you manage to stealth+burst+CnD stomp even every second target, I’ll eat my hat.
i understand what you mean but this applies to every class, its called learning the class. The problem with thief is that the amount+spammable stealth covers you unexperience just like when necros were insanely OP. It could be your first time playing a nec and you would do MUCH better than you would on an engi, ele or whatever.

Don’t even try to deny that a thief is the easiest class to play… even skull crack/100swags warrior is harder and that is telling a lot. im also rank 32 in spvp so i’ve played enough of this crappy pvp as well. I also noticed something, ppl that play only thief will rarely agree that the class is broken but another player that is skilled and plays a thief (as his main) but also plays other classes and is good with them will most certainly agree that thief is unbalanced in its current state. If it was me i’d remove all stealth and stealth related traits from that game and rework thief completely (of course this will never happen). the game is supposed to be skill vs skill and not skill vs nothing cuz the thief just refuged and heartseeker across the map.
I have like 50 in my bank. New ones I just destroy nowadays when I get them, they are worth less than junk items that drop from mobs.
Exactly. At least you can just press [Sell Junk] and all crappy trophies are gone. BLC should be added to Junk so it sells with useless gray items when you [sell junk] from a merch
Yeah that’s the one that makes the most difference, then reflections, then shadows and shaders. These are the ones with most difference. Playing the game on anything else but Shaders set to High is fugly tho.

i didn’t read the whole thing and haven’t seen a single post about thieves but all stealth related skills must be toned tone. A game trying to become esports has no counter for the stealth mechanic is laughable.

The thiefbalance (his low hp and no exist deff), was build around the fact that stealth has direct counter. That mean if all class a stealthcounter skill and the thief dont a buff in health, heal or dmg, to equalizes this, will this result in a nerf.
A counter is not a counter when it is solely in the hands of the person who needs to be countered. In it’s current state, being entirely in the hands of the thief, revealed is a control mechanism, not a counter. When it is available to others, then it’s a counter.
And if you say or even think ‘AoE Spam’, your opinion is void. AoE spam works in most other games because they have resource control and much more limited movement. Resource control allows the developers to make low CD AoEs and rely on ‘mana’ to balance their use. More limited movement sets a a clear range where the stealthed player could be. Excepting thieves, GW2 has no resource control and almost no spammable AoEs, and the distance a thief is able to cover is not only huge compared to most games, is by far the most of any class in the game itself.
Furthermore, in case you haven’t noticed, the same pool of stats are available to everyone in the game, thieves can build any stat just as well as any other class The difference is, because of zero counterplay defensive mechanics, they don’t even need certain stats. You don’t ‘balance’ something by sacrificing something that wasn’t needed in the first place.

People that refer to it as “their little stealth” should play the class and understand how its mechanics work. You should try actually playing the class you’re suggesting deserves hard counters and nerfs. The individuals who defend thief to the death are the ones who have played the class, there are SEVERAL people ITT who have stepped up to defend thief who don’t main it, but recognize how the mechanics of the class work.
i play mesmer, thief is all i find during solo roams, i know how it works thank you…
This game runs worst than modded skyrim with 30+ mods (texture/lighting mods mostly) and im not even talking about zerg fights. Go in any lev25-70 zones (you know the empty ones), set your graphics to maximum with reflections set to All and see sup. The only game i can think of that was as poorly optimized was Crysis 1 on 07 but at least that game was a hog in dem graphics department, gw2 is two gens behind.

The point is definitely to make you buy keys, since drop rate is about 500 to 1. I just delete them as other posters have said. Not worth the 2 copper to sell on TP. I refuse to buy the keys (now… I did try for a while but really… biggest waste EVER).

NO. Instead of adding three, four, five and then ten weapons gimmick why not just decrease weapon swap CD to 5sec instead and let us chose weapon skills with at least two different auto attacks on each one (one could be power based and the other condi based), now that would be fun.
You know this rune could be very hot on a PU phantasm build with Torch/MI/Decoy/Blink/Veil. if i wasn’t running Divinity runes i’d try this

I don’t think you have ever done high level fractals because all you suggest is what could only work in easy sauce dungeons where the majority of ads can be skipped like coe/cof/ta up and so on. if it was me i’d delete all mantras and mantra related traits and give mesmers something for better mobility and aoe damage. i do not care or want to see mantras on mesmers. mesmers are supposed to confuse people so give them something like so instead of crappy mantras.
Mantra of concentration is the best stun breaker we have for group WvW and restorative mantras is quite nice for support.
They can be better, for example I wouldn’t mind if mantra of pain was an AoE and if the charge cast was shortened to 2s…
sorry but i would go with decoy or blink over that crappy mantra of concentration any day of the year in ALL situations, zerg or not.
