Create a Mega Millions Lottery

Overreaction much? The OP suggested a limit of 10 tickets per character per week, bought with in-game money. It’s not like RS’s squeal of fortune where you can buy as many as you like, and have to use real money.

Secondly, I was well aware of the lottery since I was tiny. It tends to be plastered over the news and tv, and ads on newsagents, year in year out. I’m pretty sure most children are quite familiar with the concept. Also, isn’t GW2 rated 13+? If you’re letting young kids play it, your moral high ground as a parent isn’t looking so great at the moment.

Maybe there are good economic reasons not to implement a lottery; though if the jackpot came purely from the amount of the entry fee, it’d just be a redistribution of wealth. No more game breaking than selling a legendary on the tp.

New matchup system (official info)

What I would actually enjoy, if they want to redo their data, is a few weeks of shorter matchups. Like we had at launch; except maybe 2 or 3 days per match instead of one. Give everyone a chance to fight a heap of new servers, but if you’re getting facerolled it wont last for a whole week.

Remember that soloing camps gets a lot harder if it’s fully upgraded, or there are enemy players there too. I’m sure as hell not going to waste points on guard defence (at least until I’ve a few hundred more wvw ranks under my belt), but there are valid reasons that people might take it.

More traps?

Hahaha. Anet sees traps as, you know, traps. Things you place in advance to catch people. Not things you desperately drop in the middle of a zerg fight. So, there’s a use for an anti-stealth trap, like in stopping mesmers getting inside your position to portal. The others… not so much?

Also, it’s worth reminding thieves that your profession utilities are stealing and initiative. Not stealth.

Dude… stealth is tied to SO much on a thief it’s not even funny. Not sure if you’re trolling or just ignorant.

Neither. Most thieves tend to design their builds around it, true. Possibly there are no viable pvp thief builds that don’t rely on it to some extent. It’s still not a profession mechanic in the way attunements are to ele, or virtues to a guardian, or pet to a ranger or toolbelt to an engi. The equivalent to a stealth trap would be something that prevents retaliation or might or quickness, not the examples made in the thread.

Mist Wars victory celebration (WvW, fluff)

Yeah. Maybe just some sort of small victory celebration and decorations around the portal area in LA. It couldn’t hurt anything, and gives you something to show for winning your Tier, which can be confusing to tell for players who don’t follow WvW.

Traps+Get More Out of WvW

The thing is, I bet these will be triggered exactly like marks/existing traps. Meaning the first person to run over them will set them off (maybe with a limitation that the first person to have what the trap is against – ie. first stealthed person, first person with supply, etc). And maybe they’ll last quite a lot longer. But…. any commander with half a brain (and yes, most of them do have that) will just have one person running ahead of him. Supply trap at exit to supply camp “Oh, we lost one person worth of supply.” As a way to deter zergs, this isn’t going to help, especially in the top tiers.

Someone suggested that they might modify it so it’s a little bit shorter, but then put it in as a new fractal. Idk if it’ll happen, but it’s a good idea.

Possible Solution to Dragon Chests

in Suggestions

So, originally, we were getting very little loot out of dragon chests (and other boss chests) and everyone was complaining about that. The most recent patch changed that to everyone getting a guaranteed rare out of each chest, but only once per day per character. In order to get maximum rewards, players are flocking to each event on every single lvl 80 character they have, and guesting on other servers to be able to do it in a shorter time, and there’s lag and chaos everywhere.

The solution I suggest would be to return the loot tables on dragon chests to what they were before the patch. Lots of people enjoyed farming for those rewards and were happy with them, and liked getting them multiple times per day. But, to increase the rewards, there would be a daily chest, similar to fractals, for the first time you complete each major world boss. This daily reward would give, maybe, 2 or 3 items of rare or above, scaled to level. And it would be only available once per day, per account. Since people only looking for loots wouldn’t have to do it multiple times, there would be much less crowding and lag; and no real need to guest to get all your characters through. Dragon farmers would be able to continue as before; and there’d be no need to keep track of exactly which of your toons had done which events.

I’d assume the majority of the programming and suchlike is already in place and available, from things like fractals and the usual PvE dailies.

Improved meta event loot + guesting = issues

Just thinking aloud here, so it might be a terrible idea…but hows this: revert the dragon chests to how they were. But implement an account based ‘daily chest’ for each major world boss. Like in fractals. These daily chests would give you, like, 2 guarenteed rares or above.

Since you’d only get it once per account per day, people who are just in it for the rewards wouldn’t feel obliged to rush around to every event on every single lvl 80 toon they have, so the events would have fewer people, so there’d be less lag, a longer duration, and so on. But the people who previously did like farming dragons could continue to do so, with the same chances they had before.

Completing all Dailies =/= Higher Rewards?!

I don’t think you get it.

Achievement points aren’t just “a little something extra” for some people. Just because you don’t understand the need to complete certain objectives, imaginary or not, doesn’t make my point any less valid.

The fact is that WvW kills don’t belong in the PvE dailies and the Personal Story Completion is down right asinine.

If you feel compelled to get all the achievement points, then you’d be in WvW anyway to, for instance, get your ‘1,000,000 supply used on siege’ achievement and title. And all the other WvW achievement points.

I love the new design hated the old one, so characterless.

I feel the opposite, actually. The game is full of spiders and devourers and other creepy-crawlies. But only one thing was a nice shiny hovering ball :/
