Ive told many a person to get over a cold. (ie a sickness) and it worked. I just noticed that it censored out my telling the person to use a more specific term for the desired effect. 21 June – 22 July horoscope.
Am I reading this right? You work at a hospital and tell people to “get over” can[]cer?

That’s one of the reasons why it’s better to go for the Mistforged directly
If you go mistforged directly, does it unlock the non-mistforged skin for you as well? If not, that’s a bit lame.
Yes.
this problem is selfmade by arenanet
there is no min lvl for ranked games and for a new player it is not easy to find out where he has to go and what is what until he press button and join it
and how ranking/matchmaking works( better i say it dont work^^) in this game can absolut new players be matched with top ranked palyers who care only bout there ranks and leaderbaord or competive games and … all this
so yeah for an PVPer in this game this is horrible to get such people in your team cause it is than an 4v5 and you just wasted 5-10min to wait for a match + 10-15min to lose this match and after this you lose leaderboard ranking/MMR
so no its not toxity PVPers – its arenanet
I’m not usually in favour of gating content, but this is probably a situation where it would make a lot of sense for everyone. Make it so players can’t join ranked matches until they’re PvP rank 5 or so: good for the newbs, since they won’t accidentally get dropped in the wrong/stressful situation; good for the vets, cause they won’t be accidentally teamed up with absolute newbs.
Rank 5 isn’t particularly difficult to get, but you will at least become familiar with the game mode. And since PvP rank is account-wide, it will only affect new accounts or accounts which haven’t played much sPvP.
OP must hate Star Wars.
“What?! When I buy a movie called Star Wars, I kitten well expect to see stars fighting stars. All they do is sit in the background and twinkle!”
Actually, Anet is using the gem money to build a secret volcano base.
Just used two scrolls to level a character from level 27 to level 29. My two items rewards were level 15 and level 20 consumables. One of them – the simple sharpening stone was soul bound. The white nights will say I should be grateful that I got something I wouldn’t have gotten before. Given all the BS gating that people have to go through now, my reaction is: If you’re going to give something that costs at most a couple of copper (42 cp for the unsellable sharpening stone and 2 cp for the food on the TP) can’t you at least make it level appropriate? There were no level 25 consumables you could give out?
Actually, no. The next level of sharpening stone requires level 30.
Actually, yes. There are any number of food consumables that would have worked just fine. If you want someone to be impressed with a 50 cp consumable at least give it to them when its the best they can use (level 15) not level 28 or 29.
It comes with the explanation of utility consumables. While you can argue with the timing of that, it’s difficult to argue that they shouldn’t give out a utility consumable at the same level as they explain it.
your clarifications leave much to be desired.
tl;dr – some achievements have been discontinued, but still award points (since Anet can’t really subtract AP). The OP wants to get them anyway.
Like I just said, Anet HAS substracted achievements in the past. Agent of Entropy.
Happened before (or rather, at the same time) they revamped the achievement system and introduced award chests every 500 AP. They haven’t subtracted any AP since.
It affects level 80s. Just that most people pay a lot more attention to the quality level (Basic, Fine, Masterwork, Rare, Exotic) of loot, rather than the armour type. Which is why you don’t notice so much.
I do agree with the sentiment that a basic salvage kit at such a level is somewhat irrelevant as part of a reward, more to the extent of the quality of it at least. Though to be truthful I don’t find the rewards in Guild Wars 2 as a whole to be that rewarding.
Looking at the level alone it’s fair to say you’ve (and other players) have already been well and truly exposed to salvaging and the different qualities, so giving the more basic of kits seems underwhelming. Personally, boosters … well, I have stockpile of them I don’t use mainly because I don’t use them. Skill points: 7? That’s nice. To be truthful I haven’t done much mid levels leveling since the new experience but I do find them lackluster. But as above, I’ve found most of the rewards lackluster. That’s my opinion of course, others may have a different sentiment.
It’s a reward for leveling up (which, in case people have forgotten, we never got anything before). It’s not supposed to be mindblowing. It’s also not supposed to be worth a huge amount to a vet. It’s supposed to help out, a bit but not too much, players leveling, including those on their very first character.
I think the OP has a fair point (even though I’d gotten two of of three of those achievements already).
The whole way it was originally set up was very weird. It was like you could get the achievement and then sell the stuff anyway. So there was no reason to keep it.
I always thought that was a very strange way to go about things.
I agree. But that’s no reason to make it so you can still get them, now that they’ve been retired.
your clarifications leave much to be desired.

The negative thing is that at some point in time we might get some game content that is going to require a legendary to access :/
No, they’ll never do that. Absolute worst case scenario, they introduce another tier of gear with higher stats than ascended. Legendary stats would automatically upgrade to be BiS, but you’d have to craft to the next tier yourself if you didn’t have a legendary. This scenario, however, is very unlikely.

I dislike many of the new changes to leveling… but you know, the free boosters, kits and random pieces of equipment are pretty cool. We never had those before, so I think that there are positive aspects to these changes
Don’t know what game you play but we definitely did get free boosters, etc. before. Some people have entire banks of them from level-ups, PS, and dailies.
Don’t know what game you played, but I never got anything from leveling up, on any of my 8 level 80s. From dailies and personal story, sure. But not from leveling up.
OP is sad cause he got a reward… that is something he uses a lot. That sounds like a very good reward, to me, especially since previously, you’d have gotten nothing.
Solution 3: Move the old achievements down into Historical.
I have a question about the rewards for this season and its mainly regarding the logic behind the costs on certain items.
specifically the cost of crafting a mist forged weapon vs buying one outright. In order to craft a mist forged weapon i have to buy a gift of heroes 200 tickets a heroes weapon at 100 tickets and on top of that i must then buy 4 elonian wines (cost 1g) and 10 crystalline dusts (cost 2g 27s) so the total cost of crafting one is 300 tournament tickets and 3g 27s
Or i can just buy the weapon outright for 300 tickets.
whats the logic behind this where is my incentive to craft one ?
i feel like there should be a ticket saving to be made in crafting one of something like 25-50 tickets i wouldent even mind if it cost a little more resources.
The point was so that, if you didn’t enough tickets at the end of a tournament to buy a mist forged weapon outright, you could buy a heroes weapon in the meantime and then upgrade it later. It’s so people who get fewer tickets can still have some reward.
Pretty much the only servers with large, active Oceanic communities in WvW are Blackgate, Jade Quarry and Tarnished Coast (not Sea of Sorrows so much any more). Other servers do have Oceanic guilds and players, but on a much smaller scale. The 3 servers I mentioned are usually full, however, so you will have some difficulty getting on to them, though there are ways of trying, if you’re patient.
If WvW isn’t as important to you, the entire rest of the game (all of PvE, and sPvP) is cross-server – you can join any guild and chat and play with them, no matter what home server you are on. The only thing you are restricted to your home server is WvW.
Turn based combat, with a turn for each individual player and NPC. Players have as long as they need to decide what to do.
I picked up GW1 a few months ago to have a go and do some HoM stuff. It can be quite fun, and I’m slowly working my way along. I’ve completed all the stories on normal mode, and they’re quite interesting (except Prophecies, which is boring as kitten).
That said, as someone who played GW1 after GW2, the skill unlock system from GW1 was one of the absolute worst features of the game. As a new player, I wanted to try all sorts of new things and experience the game and experiment with builds and all that stuff everyone talks about with GW1. I also wanted to challenge myself with some of the harder content. However, all this was gated behind a massive grind. Not only did I have to accumulate what was, to a new player, vast amounts of currency and skill points (ie. xp grind) to buy skills and Signets of Capture, but I had to go out in the world and tediously find and kill bosses (relying on a guide, of course. This couldn’t be done just through exploration) again and again to find the skills I needed, let alone a variety of skills to choose from. I couldn’t even take my full normal skill-bar to do so, since I had to put Signets of Capture on it. Nor could I unlock skills for any more than one extra profession (beyond my core profession) at a time, meaning that getting skills and elites for all my heroes took even more time, and even more repetition of the exact same content (and even more platinum).
PvP was, of course, absolutely out of the question. There was no possible way I could have competed meaningfully, so I had to ignore it.
So, OP, while you were able to potter around in GW1 for old times sake… the only reason you could do so was because you had invested so much time in the game in the first place. You got past the very, very long initial grind to be able to experience all the vaunted depth of playstyle, and to be able to succeed in any part of the world. For me, I found that GW2 is considerably less gated, restricted and grindy.
the only skills that needed to be captured were elites.
for each class there were 15-35 elites, and you didnt really need them all. In fact, i think only my assassin had all their elites.getting every elite skill was considered a fairly long term goal, similar to say getting all classes to 80 in this game. ( you are basically playing every class if you need every elite)
you essentially got the elites you wanted to get, not so much every elite. The same with skills, except skills required virtually no work at all.
Generally, getting elites wasnt that bad, you get some hench/heroes, and you make a running build to run through zone. Probably the biggest deal was the platinum, but if you do it on multi charachters, and unlock it with elite scrolls, you can save a lil money.
You only need to capture elites, but you do need the money to buy most of the normal skills too. And sure, I only unlocked the elites I was told to by the builds I was using. But everyone talks about how GW1 has all this great complexity and depth with builds (the OP referenced playing how you want)… I couldn’t access that. Except for simply following guides, that aspect of the game was utterly opaque and inaccessible to me. And hell, simply getting access to a few hero team builds seemed long and grindy.
Save a little plat on multiple characters… maybe… assuming you want to do the exact same story (no choices. same cutscenes. same dialogue.) and unlock all the same zones all over again… and gear another character (not too expensive, but still money)… and somehow get a lot of tomes….
I’m not saying GW1 is a bad game. The initial rush of leveling and completing the stories for the first time was certainly very fun. But beyond that, getting access to all the things that people who played for 6 years talk about… that’s a very long term goal for me. I don’t mind playing, but I don’t feel much motivation to do so for more than a couple of hours a fortnight.
Mostly what I’m saying is that the perspective of a new player to GW1 can be a lot different from a veteran.

Are you talking about turning with the KEYBOARD KEYS? People still do that?
I still have turning bound to Q and E. Lets you turn while looking at the map, and play one-handed with either hand.
I haven’t particularly noticed any difference though.
Wanting something for nothing is exactly that, a sense of entitlement…
Jesus Christ this thread is so full of entitlement it makes me sick… This is EXACTLY what is wrong with current MMO culture…
I WANT THIS NOW AND I WANT TO DO NOTHING TO GET IT!
MAKE EVERYONE EQUAL WITH EVERYTHING FROM DAY ONE!
#usesenseofentitlementtogetallthethingsLike SERIOUSLY?! Here’s an idea… you want it… do what EVERYONE one else did and work for it… to sit there and expect get something that gives you the same capabilities as something else for 1/50th the effort is appalling… to even TRY to claim it isn’t a sense of entitlement is a joke…
I just checked through your post history. You really sure that you want to take that position, especially in such a rude and aggressive manner?
I live in Australia, and it’s Saturday evening now. It may be a day off what I said in the US.
Idk about 0. Afaik, the rotation is:
Mon: Crab Toss
Tue: Sanctum Sprint
Wed: Southsun Survival
Thur: Crab Toss
Fri: Sanctum Sprint
Sat: Southsun Survival
Sun: Keg Brawl
I think Keg Brawl is only on Sundays, and it rotates twice through the other 3 for the rest of the week.
Don’t forget you can get skills though Tomes http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Tomes
Not if you’re a new player, you can’t.
Valkyrie is essentially the same as Berserkers, but with the precision swapped for vitality. Assuming you’re mostly running zerkers already, then think of it as a slight sacrifice of DPS in favour of health. Bear in mind that Ascended weapons have a higher base damage than exotics anyway, so you won’t be giving up too much dps.
Any of your toons can use it. It won’t be absolutely optimal, but it’s reasonably close.
It should be noted that the OP did not suggest free, any-time, unlimited stat changes. The post suggests a mystic forge recipe. Even a single ascended inscription is reasonably expensive (relevant exotic inscription + 10 Dark Matter + 10 Crystalline Dust + Deldrimor Steel Plated Dowel). Throw in a couple of other items as well.
The ascended weapons would have changeable stats, but it would cost about a quarter the price of an entire new ascended weapon each time. I hardly think that comes anywhere close to what legendaries have.
Hey, I’m in a similar position with looking for some HoM points. I don’t have any minis in GW1 yet. If either of you are willing to give away a few more, I’d be extremely grateful
For me this change is unncessary. If anything it makes my gameplay soon worse. There’s a lot of (minor but important) things I like about current tp, and Anet is removed 90% of it. It’s clear from the screenshots alone, that certain things will be much harder to reach in the future.
The new Sell/Buy huge square buttons for instance. Bad bad bad. Sorrie, it may be good for new players but it isn’t for vets. In a split second, i can now without a doubt go from buy listing, sell listing, selling and back again. With new box, misclicking is more warranted if you want to speedclear some actions. And if that happens you gonna have to drag your mouse all to the left and right again to fix it to go to right window. This may sound as crying, but It just baffles me that something that was ‘efficient to use’ will now be ‘less efficient to use’. Taking a step back is never good, and this is going there. You should give player the option to use old trading post, or something similar. I hate the huge new sell/buy tabs.
Trade post is something, i’d like to go tru as fast as possible. New trade post UI will prevent that.
Wait until you try it. You may even find it more efficient.
Improving the visibility of the fees incurred while using the Trading Post was also important. Previously, we’d show you the listing fee and projected profit when selling, but this left out the successful exchange fee that comes out of the seller’s profit on every transaction. Feeding all those birds that shuttle your wares to the Trading Post isn’t cheap, or so Evon claims. It was better than nothing, but we got a lot of feedback that the projected profit was confusing because we weren’t calling out all the fees. The new selling UI in the Trading Post explicitly calls out both the listing fee and the exchange fee, so there shouldn’t be any surprises when selling.
What I find disturbing is that “projected profit” got removed and replaced by two fees. I am afraid that this was done on purpose, to make people do all the math themselves. The main complaint about “projected profit” (as stated in the post) was not that we wanted to see the fees… the complaint was that it didn’t calculate all the fees.
Nice catch. Didn’t see that when I looked at it. I was thinking the second one was the projected profit, but its just another fee. I don’t care what the fees are, since we can’ t change them, I just want to see what I’m going to actually get from selling it.
The post doesn’t say the Projected Profit is being removed; it says that both fees are being explicitly listed. The two are not mutually exclusive.
So, if we can’t have SAB, what is stopping us from having a SAB themed fractals? I mean, we have molten facility and I think everyone hated that content.
No. Molten Facility was quite enjoyable when it was in the Living Story.
Haha. An unambiguously good and useful change, and already the thread is full of negativity.
Plot twist: he used a glitch/exploit to get that, now you’re the one getting banned.
I can so see that happening. Some troll making 30 million eternities and sending them out to everyone in LA and the entire playerbase being banned.
Would take them quite a while.
Well all of that is by miles better than:
-Text Box Queen Jennah:
What about my people ???
Text Box you:
But Dragons are bad
Text Box Jennah:
Thats true, lets fight them-Text Box Norn Guy
“We have to much to do with Svanir’s guys
Text Box You:
“But Dragons are bad”
Text Box Norn Guy:
Right, let’s fight them
ect.etc. ….wow…………….. epic gaming experience
Do you really compare that to Rurik, Shiro and Abadon ????
And i guess we ignore that Luxon and Kurzick was a story about their sacred items…
So now your problem isn’t with the plotline, it’s with the lack of voice actors and cutscenes? Do try to be consistent.
Dream on ;p GUILD vs GUILD not going to happen like this in GUILDwars.
Why is this called GUILDwars anyway?
I hope you realize that Eye of the North was supposed to be the prequel to GW2. Primordus was introduced to show what you would be doing in GW2 = hunting the Elder Dragons. That was not stealing, it was paving the way as an introduction to GW2. Get your facts straight.
I guess you missed the point of repeating the same story over and over again.
They can have 2567 Dragons in GW2 announced by GW1.
I really don’t care.
The sad thing is the story repeating.Obviously not a fan of fantasy or science fiction or you’d know this. There are only so many plots. That’s it.
So we knew there were six elder dragons. We knew they were awakening. Logic would then dictate that we have to kill six elder dragons.
It’s not much different from most fantasy and science fiction. The difference is we also had some some plots here that are interesting, including the much maligned Scarlet. The Zephyrites and their connection to Glint. There’s been a lot of side stuff that’s pretty interesting, down to the ley lines.
Way to trivialize a plot and try to say that it’s copied from Guild Wars 1. In fact, the only dragons I remember facing in Guild Wars 1 were Glint, who was an allie, and the Kunnevang who was an ally.
Almost every plot can be boiled down to one of seven things (some people claim 14). There are more than 14 games, hence plots have to get reused.
Well GW1 had tons of Dragons around and still had descent plots without them.
-Rurik was entertaining because it led to an epic journey.
-Shiro wasn’t really the bad guys he was just influenced by the crystal ball lady. Also connected to a journey.
-Abadon was my least favorite but mostly because i didn’t like the nightmare lands.
The story itself was enjoyable.
In all these story i couldn’t find a single “let’s get a group”, “they don’t want to”,
“we make them”, “group defeats” cliche stuff
Shiro Tagachi is pretty mean and evil.
We need help. What about them Kurzicks and Luxons? They’re pretty powerful.
But they hate each other :o
Oh, let’s help them and get them to work together.
Now we’re all friendly, let’s go kill Shiro.
Oh noes! Varesh beat the Sunspears and is awaking Abaddon!
We need help. What about them Vabbians? They might be useful.
But they’re lazy and complacent.
Let’s show them the error of their ways and get them to help us.
Oh look! That enemy general and those centaurs. They want to help us too? Sweet.
Now we’re all friendly, let’s go re-imprison Abaddon.
Yeah… none of that ever happened…
I’ve checked all other 27 POIs, and I’ve walked around the whole camp, so unless by “‘underneath’ the waypoint” you mean there’s a tunnel for the camp (I’m standing on the WP in the first screenshot), I think it’s safe to say the POI got deleted.
He means at the exact same map coordinates.
That’s a much clearer way of putting it.
You don’t have enough mats. It takes quite a lot just to get to lvl 500 crafting, and then ascended gear itself takes even more. With only 25g, you also can’t afford to buy them.
If you like playing on different alts as the mood takes you, I’d definitely not advise trying to get even one ascended weapon. It’ll take a large amount of effort/money, and then you’ll feel obliged to play whatever toon it’s on (Ascended weapons do stay account bound, but even if you swap it around, it can’t be used by every class).
Before buying Exotic armour on the trading post, do check how much Karma you have. You can buy exotic armour for 42,000 karma per piece at each temple in Orr (each temple has different stat combinations).
IIRC, the POI there is ‘underneath’ the waypoint. Basically it’s in the same position, but waypoints take priority. So it’s not actually visible on the map. There’s another place in Malchor’s with the same problem.
That’s not to say it hasn’t vanished, but do check to make sure you’re not just missing one of the other POIs.
So wait.. you want Ascended weapons, which already have the same LEVEL of stats as legendary to be able to swap stats around just like a legendary?
Essentially you want a Weapon with Legendary stats and capabilities for like one tenth the cost…
ummm no…. that’s a horrible idea…
Well, to be fair, that’s exactly what legendaries were before ascended weapons came out. Extremely expensive weapons with the same stats and capabilities as exotics.
Everyone always had the same chance at a precursor, though. Or to be precise, an equally miniscule chance at all the precursors, from each kill. That’s no more inequality than buying a lottery ticket: you bought the exact same thing for the exact same price as the guy who won $20M.
And yet, we’re discussing the result of that chance. The resulting massive inequality of a huge payout for the same effort as someone who didn’t.
Ok, look. Yes, an RNG system will give different results to individuals, so there will be inequality of outcomes. If you think the game should simply abandon RNG loot, then that’s a bit of a different question. What this change is doing is making even more inequality, by stacking the odds in favour of some classes and against other classes. Inequality of input.
This is, perhaps, true if the assumptions this is based on hold true. Next question: just how much does it really matter? Due to the “Precursor Jackpot Lottery” going on, everything is pretty unequal if even one person gets their hand on Dawn/Dusk. Or anything except the underwater weapon precursors.
The inequality is staggeringly big between “I had Dawn/Dusk drop” and “I had Breath of Flame drop”, even if we assume the two people would have been guaranteed an exotic greatsword drop next.
Everyone always had the same chance at a precursor, though. Or to be precise, an equally miniscule chance at all the precursors, from each kill. That’s no more inequality than buying a lottery ticket: you bought the exact same thing for the exact same price as the guy who won $20M.
And of course, all this is assuming the perceived inequality in this system will help light armor classes instead of hurt them. Honestly, the more I think on it the more I figure I’m going to get a good chuckle in two weeks when everyone thinks of gaming the system by making light armor farming characters and then discovers they inadvertently either tanked the value of silk or made it skyrocket due to demand, and then the market crashes.
As I’ve said before, it doesn’t matter on the specifics of the market. Unless all the relevant mats turn out relatively equal, and all the relevant rare/exotic weapons turn out relatively equal (these being the main things that will affect your income)… then some classes will have an advantage and others will have a disadvantage. If Anet implements a highly desirable leather sink, and Think Leather goes up to 10s each overnight… then the medium classes will be laughing. But it’s still inequality.
Like, it’s cool and all… I’ve got nothing against new achievements. It’ll be probably be a bit of fun until I have them maxed, and may help re-invigorate existing content again. But I’m feeling rather… underwhelmed.
Assumedly, this will not affect loot out of bags or chests (much as MF and DR never did), but only direct drops. So if you’re getting most of your loot in bags, then you’re not going to see a change in loot distribution.
Depending on what you’re killing, item drops are still a pretty large part of your loot. And small or “not easily noticeable” inequality is still inequality. The difference in total value looted for the same activities will just continue to increase as time goes on.
The thing with COF speed runs… that’s not an inherent feature of the class. Rangers could go on the speed run, and probably not slow it down very much. It’s just that the culture grew up that you had to take a specific class composition. It wasn’t something Anet could directly control, whereas this is.
It’s ‘punishing’ if two people do the exact same job and get the exact same results, but one gets paid more.
Short of crunching math figures (and getting them correct), nobody gets “the exact same results” at anything.
Besides, the engi and the ele both lose out when there’s a farm two zones over making loot hand over fist, or they’re not part of the Edge of the Mists train. Or if neither of them happens to get a Dusk drop but someone else does.
Too much randomness in figuring out whether someone is getting “the proper amount of loot”. Best to ignore it and deal with what actually is in front of you instead of worrying about what the other guy is getting.
I replied in the thread on the actual topic
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Please-No-Profession-Loot/page/9

That’s true, that certain activities are a lot more profitable than others. And while the differences in rewards could be tightened up, at the end of the day, it’s your choice of what you want to do. Anyone on any class can go along to a profitable farm. I think choice of class is a much more fundamental thing, especially for players who only have 1 or 2 lvl 80s. You finally get your first character, an engi, to level 80 and find out that actually, you’re doomed to get less valuable loot than every other class doing the exact same farm.
Yeah, there are a lot of factors that go into how much you make. But most of them have to do with choice of what to do, and how good you are at it. Others (like the precursor) are just luck (and the engi will have a higher chance at Quip, but a lower chance at Dusk or the Legend). I don’t think something as basic as the simple choice of class should come into it, especially since it never has before.
I don’t think people should be punished in terms of one of the game’s main reward systems, simply for playing whatever class they like.
Although, is it “punishing” someone if you give out bonuses with a paycheck, and occasionally someone’s is less than someone else’s?
I agree with you on one thing: I do wish to stop being punished for choosing ranger by the game and the other players. Especially as I can’t seem to play zerker warrior like “everyone else”.
It’s ‘punishing’ if two people do the exact same job and get the exact same results, but one gets paid more. Engi and ele in a party together doing map completion in Kessex hills – ele will tend to get better loot. The entire loot system is based on RNG, so the larger the sample sixe, the more you can leave out “tend to” (ie. “ele will get better loot” (example uses current prices)).
Because leather, cloth and metal, no matter how they move up or down, will never be reliably at the same price. All varieties of rare weapons will never be reliably at the same price (well, only if forging precursors is completely removed). This is persistent inequality: it will exist no matter what the market, it doesn’t depend on the current conditions. I said all this, like, 2 posts ago.
These things don’t need to be reliably at the same price, though. Not when the bottleneck for any crafting under 400 is still the Fine materials . . . leather, cloth, metal, wood . . . doesn’t matter as much if you’re not holding enough Fangs, Blood, or Scales.
Really, the only thing I’ve noticed is how you can craft basic, serviceable rares or exotic gear you need to fill up on for far cheaper than you can pay for it. And people still pay for it. Heck, you don’t even need to craft exotic armor, you can just check out a Karma vendor in Orr after a temple is cleared.
And yet, I keep hearing this thing about how hard it is to grind gold to buy exotics. When you don’t really need to pay anything if you want to take the time and do events rather than just farm whatever farm is popular this season. (Truthfully, I think you’d have more fun just doing events but I also thought Obsidian was well over-rated as armor art.)
That’s the point. When you get to level 80, you buy gear (with gold, tokens, karma, whatever), and you maybe eventually buy or farm the mats to make ascended. The vast majority of your drops aren’t anything to do with your personal progression, they’re directly equated to gold. While profit is not the primary reason to play the game, it is an important reward mechanism, and this change makes your gold reward unequal between classes, just because you happen to be playing whichever class.
I don’t think people should be punished in terms of one of the game’s main reward systems, simply for playing whatever class they like.
