One thing I notice is that higher tier mats and recipes have a slower “crafting bar” progression. I get that, at least from what I see, that because those mats are most likely valuable and thus the slower progression means that the player has longer time to think and possibly cancel the action.
But I feel like it’s wasted on say, refining ore to ingot or wood to planks. Like I have say, 8000 Mithril Ores being turned into Ingots. Now it’s fine to alt tab but it’s still time being burned. Not to mention that the speed of refining lower tier mats are much faster. So maybe give an option to make refining really fast, or at least improve the speed of T5 mats refinement?
I still kinda wish mesmer enemies behave more like actual mesmers rather than just “heheh one more life” thing they’re going for. It’s the only White Mantle enemy I haven’t made peace with primarily because how they break the flow of the fight.
It’s weird that you can’t interact with him though.
That’s what I’m getting at though. A character becomes a “Sue” because of how they are executed rather than how they are “given”, so to say. Yeah I agree she had a potential to be a really good character but they squandered her writing.
I think the only non-boss/champ/legendary enemy with breakbars that are a chore to fight are the Jade Constructs, and only because it is a mandatory phase because they become invulnerable.
I kinda wish we get a “chest of plentiful mystic coins” at the end though like plentiful laurels.
I use WP if I want to get to a point immediately. If I need mats I don’t WP.
Err what?
She’s seen as a Mary Sue because she somehow managed to be a supergenius being trained under asurans, managed to organize different syndicates that somehow want to follow her for no explained, believable reason, and managed to do all those plot stuff out of the blue, not because “she’s a woman and people hate to see smart women”. Even if Scarlet was a male he’d still be under scrutiny. And to top it all off, the payoff was pretty anticlimactic.
It’s like saying a character is ugly but everyone around the person treats them well, is a paragon of virtues, is never wrong, and all who goes against them is always evil. “That person isn’t a mary sue because she has flaws!”
Nah I’m fine with four legged.
But you know what I want as part of a new run animation? Charr’s walk animation with weapon drawn as a run animation. Sucks that the asurans have that animation for running with weapon but not Charr.
So right now the only way to get them is via achievements and you could make 2 weapons if you got them all provided that you don’t misplace them.
But surely it would be wasted if the only way to get them was through A Crack In Ice achievements right? I’m actually surprised they’re not drops from events or something, or maybe tradable for Winterberries. They were once in BLCs sure, but couldn’t they make it more available? I have two spares and they’re just rotting in my bank.

HMS Divinity has a special place in my heart that makes me want to craft it. :P
In my side my pre-HoT legendaries were precursor-bought except for Zap which was from a bag.
I crafted Nevermore and HOPE and while Nevermore was trodding due to Elder Wood, HOPE was actually less frustrating because Mithril halved the consumption. But then the resource sink was only during Tier II as the rest were exploration based. That’s what essentially why I feel bogged down doing HMS Divnity, because it was all crafting the same mats.
I guess you could argue I should instead just buy, selling other mats to make up for the cost.
I like how Champions Online did it. When struck with a successful CC, you gain a Defiant stack. A stack adds 10% chance to be immune from CC. The player will continue to gain a stack for each successful struck CC. If finally the player resisted the CC, the stack vanishes.
Not sure it’d be really useful because the stunlock trend doesn’t come from CC being long, but being spammed.
If you look at daredevils, or centaurs, or giant bloodstone elementals with little bombs, or Grella or so many other examples, they spam a lot of CC’s, hence wrecking stability stacks, and stun breakers available.
Such a system wouldn’t help against that many SPS (stun per second :p), and same goes for food.
But it does prevent spammed CC since in Champions Online they tend to occur too. In CO, the Defiant buff remains there and even goes up until you resist the CC, which then resets the Defiant buff stack.
And then you get CC’d again with next attack half a second later.
which you’d get resistance again, and the cycle goes on
maybe make the stack go up 20% than 10%
Still wish they remove cast times on those shouts.

Then make wood more abundant. Rich wood nodes, high priority wood salvaging, etc.
I think I should rephrase my question then – since technically casuals can easily grab a precursor through the power of cash, whereas you can’t here due to many factors (crafting skill, etc.)
By asking for wood to be more abundant you’re asking for lower prices on wood, which means you’re asking that Legendaries be cheaper and easier to make. I’ll repeat myself from above
You’re making one of the most costly, end game items. It’s meant to be both expensive and time consuming. I can see why a player would want to have the costs lowered but why should ANet want this also? Unless you can come up with a compelling reason why lowering the cost is good for the game then ANet will have no reason to change their assessment that the high costs of gold and time is best for the game
So what is your compelling reason to make Legendaries cheaper and easier to get that overrides ANet’s wish for them to be expensive and a project that keeps people logging on and playing for extended periods?
pretty sure people aren’t playing when they’re just logging in per hour to cut wood
in any case, I already made a point via comparison – you don’t have this feeling when doing older legendaries, hell even HoT-era legendaries, because at least you either are given a chance to grab that precursor, or for the latter, time to roam the map
Khishant basically expresses what I mean to say – you’re not bottlenecked to a single, drowning experience.
I generally couple it with the trait that adds Might, but yeah I guess as an offense Tempest the other shouts feel kinda lame. Still, I wonder why FtB can be used while channeling whereas the others don’t.
EDIT: ah right forgot about EotS

Their comment on Orr does give me hope we’d eventually see a cleansed version.
That excitable charr who escorted Rytlock would be cool. Like he seems like a dork who is a bit of a “follows charr regulations” guy. Put him in some problem where he’s forced to join you and learns how to step out from protocol.
I mean, the only bad waypoint back then was in LA in the Under Construction phase, because it was really convenient (crafting, bank, trade all so within easy reach in that WP), so much so that it made the special passes useless. It was the only broken waypoint in LA back then when Mordy attacked.
The rest seem to be pretty benign in comparison.
I feel like I’m the only one using shouts hehe.
Anyway, I find it odd that Feel the Burn is the only shout you could use during a channel. I thought it’s due to channeling (i.e. Wash the Pain Away has that channel meter), but apparently other instantaneous shouts like Aftershock and Flash Freeze can’t be shouted while you’re channeling something.
Like, FtB is really useful when you’re overloading or summoning meteors or other things because you can cast it while doing something else, but somehow those other shouts can’t be done like that.
Maybe they should reduce the cost of Elder Wood? Even with the hourly “farm” area respawn, it still takes forever. Casual players are screwed out on these new legendaries as opposed to the older ones because of this material sink.
Whoops, meant that elder still remained more expensive between the two
Maybe it’s just me but I feel like while the post-HoT legendaries were less troublesome in the collection aspect, it seemed like they doubled down in the material sink aspect.
I feel like the wood/ingot cost is redundant. You already spend mithril and elder for crafting the mystic curio, but then you have to do it again for the tribute, and the requirements just keep getting higher and higher. Wouldn’t it been a bit better if there wasn’t so much mithril or wood being sunk into it?
I mean, if it was meant to make elder wood or mithril expensive, neither price changed, and if anything elder wood just became more expensive
huh, it’s supposed to be leg impending

Clearly next enemy is the Consortium.
They won’t be repaired anymore? Surely with Mordy dead as a doormat surely those super smart asurans would fix those waypoints back right?
How about saving wardrobe loadouts?
By skirt I mean the lower part of a coat.
One thing that really annoys me is that many chest armor skins have coat tails and skirts. I mean sure, fine, but I kinda wish we get a bit more less-“lekittening” outfits for exploring since it kinda undermines the leggings skin from being visible and it feels like there’s just too many of skirted coats.
This is very egregious to medium armor even. A class based on agility shouldn’t have too movement-impending/hindering outfit! I mean I get the idea – they should look like outlaws/cowboys/pirates, but at the same time they should also offer the look of an acrobat or a marksman. I think the only skirtless coat for medium armor is the Glorious medium chest armor and the Charr lv80 cultural chest armor.
Again, going back to the letter in Caudecus’s Manor, it seems that all of the Personal Story options happened at the same time, but if it wasn’t you doing it, it was another hero of Tyria. Tybalt would have still rescued Demmi and taken her into the Whispers operation, and then he died, probably around the same time our other mentor died on Claw Island.
Would it fit if say all three mentors went on Claw Island and they all sacrificed their lives for one of the mentor’s progeny, Trahearne, and Mira?
I kinda wish that the GS skin was the original Caladbolg, and the collected skins will give you an infinite use item that lets you use the Caladbolg “as itself” (i.e. the one you used in the Sylvari’s PS).
The trick really is just going to DS map 10 mins before the map restarts. I’ve always encountered players there.
It’s weird that they never hinted that she’s from Whispers. The closest is definitely Tybalt, but if you never played PS you wouldn’t know that.
Yeah pretty much loved him. He’s a massive step up compared to say, Scarlet.
I’m more questioning as why there’s a quaggan who wants to uh… “hit with me”.
oh right, that air trait has a minor that has a permanent 25% movement speed
I guess I should ditch Celestial once I move to D/W
I don’t have zerk gear yet, what I am planning was tossing the celestial gear into the toilet to turn them into zerk. Though in hindsight I guess zerk gear is easier to come by?
Oh I’ve been saving them up, already have 5 from map bonuses equipped on those exotic gear lol. I actually have been saving them because people might say zerk would have been better, but I guess celes is good enough for non-raid PvE so I should use them eh?
Should I swap my Traveler’s Runes tho?
So one of my earliest characters, a five year old Elementalist (now Tempest), runs an all Celestial ascended gear and amulet, though with mixed trinkets and accessories (zerk/rampager mix), and my backpack is zerk. He manages fine and even completed the maps and stories of both Central and HoT. With that said I feel like maybe I’m not using a right build for PvE, or at least that feeling of being outdated.
Before I had a Fire/Earth/Arcane thing going on before switching to Fire/Wind/Arcane, and right now it’s Fire/Wind/Tempest. Hell I just realized Fresh Air exists out of all this time!
Though I must say my runes are most likely outdated. I’ve been wearing Traveler’s runes for quite a long time, I take it that it’s not the go-to PvE runeset nowadays?
vet HoTs don’t have invul phase and shove projectile CCs up your kitten
Any chance on making the Ghost Bandit a bit more frequent?
I honestly don’t mind the track much, I kinda wish that doing objectives should also provide something to the track rather than just maintaining a ticking performance. Kinda like how in PvP you still get points from what you do.
Oh, so a 500 Huntsman already has it?
Speaking to him doesn’t show the Vol 1 Book for this legendary at all. No mail from him either when usually he should talk to me about it.
It seems like this guy appears really, really rare. I’ve only encountered his event once and somehow I missed it because I was far away, and I tried waiting yet he hasn’t spawned.
Is there a timer for him or a way to forcefully trigger him?
True enough. I was suspicious that there’s a lack of event pertaining to the centaur zone.
