I feel like if they fight like actual mesmers, you’d instead see the clones and the real thing at the same time fighting you rather than having an extra life.
You know what would make this bearable? Actually make the special skill give you breathing time. It feels like even if you activate it, because the CC still comes in, it feels pointless.
Oh and the Veteran Jade Bow.
My problem is that it’s all AoE, all CC, and somehow the options given to you (the protection spell) feels useless because it doesn’t really give you anything. If you don’t cast it, you get CC’d, but if you do cast it, you still get CC’d regardless.
Oh and a Veteran Bow spawns, and it loves to CC too.
So my character is a charr Whispers member (he’s an elementalist, yeah for some odd reason my thief is in Vigil and my warrior is in Priory, go figure :P). I like how Logan has a unique one line (he says he’s still feeling strange to see a charr in the throne room, but he likes it that it’s me in it, something along that lines).
But for some odd reason there’s no single throwaway line that Demmi is with the Whispers or that she recognizes me. I guess it can’t be helped, you are forced to pick a race at the start of the game, but you can reach LS3 without picking an Order. Still, I take it the dialog is the same regardless right?
Does this mean if say, I didn’t go with Whispers, it’s safe to assume Demmi became the “clutch” of Tybalt which normally befalls on the player character? If so, I wonder what killed Tybalt. Or do we subscribe to all three mentors were in Claw Island harboring different players/commanders at the same time? :P
I feel like the final boss needs some tweaking. Imagine fighting in a cramped room where there’s always AoE that can CC you. The chaos protection feels useless because even if you use it and the boss gets stunned, for some odd reason you still get CC’ed so it undermines the point of using the chaos protection.
Oh and eventually he will spawn a Veteran Jade Bow. Yeah, that thing is a kittener all right. So you already have the problem above plus a Vet that spams CC on you as well, and if you try to eliminate it, you’ll instead be forced to fight its invulnerability phase as well. You’d end up needing to shuffle what you are doing within a small room.
And yeah, gonna echo the statement on Cleric and Mesmer enemies.
It’s not like they’re trouble anyway. Even if they “pull” players, simply post on LFG again. Let me tell you, simply posting the meta event name (like Challenges) will gather players in the map soon enough.
Ordnance needs to faster (Airship salvage)

The best way to deal with this it seems is to go to a “fresh” map and start the event chain immediately.

Yeah that too, it’s far from the supposed waypoint it was pointing to. It only becomes relevant during the airship salvage part.

In all of my runs in Verdant Brink Ordnance has always been a problem.
If it isn’t started early, it is bound to fail, particularly because of the Airship salvage segment. Usually so many people come to help that it scales up so much terribly. The airship salvage parts outright are rare, and you must kill frogs to get them – and they take forever to die mostly because either they are annoying (shadowdancer) or meaty (those floppers).
Compare this to another similar event in the same map – finding scraps in the Nobles event chain. It had plentiful scrap parts outright, the mushrooms die quickly, they are plentiful, and there’s a short walk from the source of scraps to the droppoint.
They should really fix that part – it’s the only reason why Ordnance path is rather slow.
So I’ve pretty much already done all of the requirements to obtain this item save for the Adventure.
Now that I did, I didn’t get the collection completion, even though I’ve already obtained the Silver rank for the Punch-O-Matic adventure.
EDIT: It seems like relogging did the trick. I wonder what caused it though.

This randomly occurs to me. Somehow my game would freeze, teleport me to some random black area that phases through the platforms, and sometimes put me in a blue “sea” area.
Any idea what causes this? Should I lower my graphics settings?
Wait, that kitten is automatic? I thought if you didn’t take it you won’t get kicked. That’s bad especially if you’re organizing.
It’s my first time doing a working meta event, but I do know that the map has a countdown timer of sorts. However, I know you shouldn’t be “transferred” to a different instance as long as it hasn’t reached 0.
So what happened was we were doing the events fine, defeated the towers and so on. We then head to the floating Leyline Islands thingie. When everyone was up, suddenly the map “reloaded”, and everyone ended up in a different instance – as though we didn’t do the meta up to that point. I remember we still had 30 mins in the countdown, so I was baffled and so was everyone else.
Is this normal?
It’s a bit of a trouble that I have, say, five pieces of enchanted reward boosts in a stack, and I have to click on it multiple times to select rare-level Experience Booster AND confirm its consumption. I feel like I’m wasting a few minutes just getting them activated.
So maybe there should be a feature like how you get to consume all Essences of Luck. You get to consume all of a stack of boosts, select a specific boost from it, and viola, you consume all in one go with that specific boost in effect. I do this because I know the duration stacks.
Still, they should have a name by now.
I’ve played SL1-2 and HoT, but I don’t remember the gang ever been initiated as a guild. It was so weird because during Escape from LA you don’t really see them interact with each other outside of their respective circles, hell Taimi is locked into the EotM. In LS2 they’ve sorta formed a party but they never seemed like a guild. Suddenly the gang is introduced as a guild!
Also if they were a guild, how come we don’t know the guild’s name yet? Are we stuck with Destiny’s Edge 2.0?
I feel like it’s a flimsy excuse though. A few of the story instances in S2 make a big deal on why she is doing this, turns out “oh j/k lol my Wyld Hunt”. Like, they should have delved deeper into that.
Also yeah why is there weapon swap on a character that only has one underwater weapon?
It’s currently the only qualification I’m missing for “Honorary Jaka Itzel” achievement. I’m specifically talking about “Wyvern fires extinguished”.
When the village was set on fire I threw water buckets on red spots and even killed some mobs just in case, but as the fire ceased I didn’t get anything.
…but nothing happens. Like, he is just laying on the ground, with zero HP, but nothing happens. I am stuck with “Finish Final Boss”.
Is Glint terrestial only? I haven’t unlocked Herald on my Revenant.
If so, they might as well just stick Assassin and Demon for underwater.
It sucks, but whenever I go underwater I end up only having one Stance available because the one of the Stances I’m using on land is unavailable. Since the choices are limited while underwater, why not just keep the selected Stances underwater to be… underwater? I mean, they did that with Utilities after all.
I’m glad that I can talk to other guilds I am part of despite not representing them. However there is a bug with this feature.
Whenever I link an item (you know, those [item codes]) in a non-repped guild chat and hit Enter, the game will instead send it to the repped guild chat instead. Kinda annoying.
Agreed.
It can’t be on our part since as people said before, prior to the patch we could play fine. It was only after the patch did we see this high ping/terrible latency, so it must be something they did.
And then there’s the problem with the download of patches lately.
Hmm I guess they don’t talk frequently on my side lol
But yeah, the backpack is eerily silent
So it seems to be not just the backpack. It seems like the harvesting items haven’t made a sound after using them. Kinda undermines them…
It seems to occur in areas with players. Inside a dungeon instance my char didn’t “speak” random voice clips, but when I returned back to the map the random clips returned.
Yeah seems like anything guild-related in the chat is borked.
I got the “You are not in a guild” error despite being in one. I did the offline->online solution, and got my chat to work.
However, something is amiss. Whenever I chat with the guild (in the general chat tab), the Guild tab in the chat always glows (normally it only does that when new chat entries happen while the chat is scrolled up). So then I switch to that tab since it’s irritating to see it glow up. Then I went back to the general chat tab, suddenly the posts I used under the /guild chat vanished.
Holy kitten!
It happened to me a few times before. I just noticed that the game ignores any input from my Esc key.
It doesn’t bring up the Game Menu when I press Esc. It doesn’t close windows even though I have the “Disabel Esc Key from Closing Windows” unchecked. It doesn’t even cancel channeling skills.
Somehow relogging repeatedly eventually fixed it, but I occasionally still experience it.
Ah so it wasn’t just me. I can confirm this. I mined a Platinum Ore node and was wondering why I got a chunk of ore and 2 platinum ores and it was underwater.
I guess because it’s “too good”, what with all of the crafting spots easy to get into, nearby TP, merchant, and bank NPCs, skill and guild NPCs also available at the perimeter.
Still, I kinda miss that place. The nearest WP is the southern LA gate and it’s a bit of a walk to go there. Nowadays I tend to go to Postern Ward WP, but it just doesn’t feel the saem.
Speaking of mesmers, I find it hilarious that I rarely see charr mesmers when the PS of charrs have plenty of mesmers.
Wait, they changed the order of the last chapters of PS? For what purpose?
Does this mean quaggan becomes playable/important for fighting bubble dragon? Quaggan hero go!
Won’t work for me either, and the fort has just finished rubble collecting and I have 5 perseverance.
So which NPCs in the game have unique pieces? And is it possible to get them?
For instance, I’ve been searching everywhere for Korukhan the Blacksmith's chestpiece, but I don’t think I’ve seen it at all.
I notice this a lot when I play my Warrior because I switch utility skills with him a lot.
Like for instance, one of my utility skill is On My Mark! Then when I realize we’re going to fight something that can’t have conditions (say, Armored Dredge Carrier), I switch to Signet of Power. As soon as I switch to that signet, it gets a cooldown as though I activated its active skill even though I didn’t. What causes that?
From what I heard when a signet is part of your underwater utility skills and you switch to that on land, apparently cooldown happens. That’s… unnatural.
Another tip is that you can join a party in Karka Queen, so just in case you crashed, you could still relog in the same instance.
I’m more confused on people here complaining about "AFK"ing. A good Pavillon organization does not AFK at all since bosses die nearly within seconds at each other, that there is very little time to AFK in the first place.
Strange. I could always download the client update fine, but now it stops at 0 KB/s. I’m talking about the download that happens before the Log In screen appears. I tried closing and reopening but it stops at various intervals (i.e. it stops at say, 1000~KB, then later it stops at 500~KB).
I can’t download the patch due to this. :/
You guys forgot about that batman quaggan in the order sympathy storyline. I wish more quaggans are like that.
I mean, they’re the “other” mascots of the game right? I find it weird that they aren’t given much spotlight other than the usual quest NPCs on certain areas.
I chuckled though when Trahearne got shocked to see undead quaggans.
Leveling up armor and weapon crafting is pretty easy. It’s always <insert insignia> + <armor/weapon component 1> + <armor/weapon component 2>
Silver is more profitable than gold dubloon? How so?
I am thinking of nodes like plant fibers or silk from webs, or dead animal carcass.
Maybe a heavy armor but ranged-focused combatant.
I know leather and fabric are meant to be harvested from enemies unlike wood, veggies or minerals, but for some odd reason I am obtaining leather drops more than I am seeing fabrics.
Maybe we should be able to harvest fabric and leather soon. Especially fabric.
I think PvE can be annoying if you get swarmed especially in certain places because how mobs are placed cough cough Ascalon ghosts cough cough
I honestly believe that prior to meeting Traeherne, the stories have been decent or serviceable (unless you are Human, the story paths in Human are pretty lame). And the lore building is pretty good in that rather than relying on races being at throats it created unity.
