Is there any news on how long it will last? Because it will open at 5am in my time haha
If you exit LS3 instances and return (starting them with the same toon), you’ll be back after the last major encounter you completed. It’s not as convenient as an in-instance restart option, but it works.
I would have preferred being returned to just before the next big encounter (instead of after the last one completed), to avoid going through all the dialogue and waiting in between.
That one is more towards the convenience of being DC’d and not having to do the whole thing again.
Reset motes are more for redoing challenges. It’s so annoying even if there’s a small cutscene. I’m just surprised why they took that out when previous LS have that.
I remember them being plentiful back in HoT and LS2, so how come they weren’t around here? It’s very useful on doing achievements back then that were on the tail-end of an instance, or if there was an excruciating fight beforehand.
I have the same problem too.
I already did the cache clearing and dnsflush, nothing changed.
All the progress I did with the assetsrv workaround will be kept yes?
As in your in-game progress? Yes. The assert servers are simply where you download patches from and you may switch between them regularly without knowing.
Ah cool. Was gonna buy the gemstore clothes today.

Gw2.exe -assetsrv 64.25.41.2
This actually worked wow :o
Try it guys.. Create shortcut and then add this -assetsrv 64.25.41.2 after the quote in the target..it works, but it’s downloading something, I take it a patch after the July 11th update?
Haha i am wondering the same.. Lets seee But the download speed is reduced alot
Yeah the download speed is slow lol

The titans were creation of one of these god though
that’s what I mean, to charr the titans were gods in a metaphorical way
False charr history which states that they killed their own gods when humanity actually did that all.
pretty sure Scorchrazor continued the fight while the human party moved on elsewhere
Scorchrazor fought and defeated the Flame Legion with the backing of the other high legions long after humanity killed all of the Titans and the destroyers that they were worshipping. Humanity did the heavy lifting when it came to charr “god killing”.
I dunno, according to the stuff like the research panel in Rata Novum there were still “gods” way after your party in GW1 killed the titans there.
I don’t think you can buy pots.
with the lb/sb skin from gemstore, I reckon the new legendary won’t be an lb
They. Are. Not. Gods.
I think you’re missing the point.
Also technically the titans conceptually are no different in a sense that they are “higher beings with power from out of this world”.
I mean, if we’re going all for exclusivity, why not make all those PvE content that are available for PvP-only players exclusive for PvE?
then the idea should be that the pvp and wvw shouldn’t count for the three daily achievements?

I thought it was referring to Charr killing the false gods since it’s supposed to be Scorchrazor?
I feel like when comparing to the other daily rewards (PvP, WvW, fractals, LS3 maps), they feel kinda underwhelming. You’d get the occasional Mystic Forge for a coin and mats for the daily harvest, but otherwise they’re kinda underwhelming.
Why not say, turn the others to reward bigger karma or a pact supply? The latter would even match the other mode’s rewards for “filling up” a progress bar of sorts.
Yeah I don’t get how HMS is funny. It may not be “cool” but it’s not something like Kudzu or quagganshield. And I personally like it.
Medium armor doesn’t even have a male revealing armor right? I know Light and Heavy have a couple.
The funny thing is that most people are in the idea that “non-PvP players shouldn’t get PvP rewards”, even though technically the reward track you could only get via dailies are mostly PvE stuff outside of Balthazar’s backpack. You won’t get pips which contain actual, PvP-only stuff.
And yet somehow there’s no hint of irony of asking PvE stuff for PvP-only players.
yikes, that they are
I guess I’ll stick to flame legion for now
So far I’m running a budget rune of Flame Legion for good burning condis and the fire burst, but maybe you guys have other suggestions? I also have the sigil of fire so I dunno if it stacks with flame legion or not.
i mostly do non-raid PvE if people are wondering.
asura are the second tier in the pecking order of anet favor, with sylvari being the first, so yeah, expect ass-pulls to occur
I do agree that most of the outfits fit a rougue character than a ranger or even an engineer.
Why even put anything other than skinny humans in the game then? They chose to take on this “time-consuming endeavor”. They haven’t delegated the proper resources to making quality armor and it’s their own kitten ed fault that they make their people pump out large quantities of ill-fitting buttcapes, hovering shoulderpads, and horn-crushing hats. It just feels to me sometimes that they have no respect for the races they created.
I don’t think they care about any race besides asura, with humans just being “humanoid” enough for fashion wars
Since the update earlier, my task bar now is superimposed while in windowed fullscreen. It wasn’t like this before and gets annoying when you frequently move your mouse. Alt-tabbing doesn’t fix it too.
How do you get to the tombs btw? I got mine via Teleport to Friend so I have no idea how to reach it lol
Well if you recall pre-launch, both the artists and the writers seemed to have A LOT of love for the Sylvari race. There was a lot of blog posts and interviews about the design of the race, a lot more than for any other race.
I didn’t think they would go as far as to make them the “hero” race of the game though. It felt like they were trying to “force” us to like the race by putting a Sylvari in the foreground at every corner, and they went as far as putting a Sylvary-exclusive achievement in HoT. I happen to not like the Sylvari very much, so it came out as more annoying than cool to me.
I hope that Sylvaris will take the backseat for the next expansion and let us explore the other races of the game. I don’t mean to completely erase them from the story (Canach is my buddy!) just don’t make the story focused on Sylvaris this time around. Please?
Depends, do you like asura? Because in the pecking order, next to sylvari are asura.
If it’s Aurene-themed I hope it’s a longbow so I shoot flying Aurenes at enemies. :P
It’s really strange for an armor class meant for athleticism you have a general design that goes against it. You’d think a body-fitting clothing without dangling bits would be the ideal medium armor.
Honestly I wonder why the game has better rewards for failing certain events in a form of a champ battle.
This isn’t even in Cursed Shore. Go look at Frostgorge Sound. You can save a quaggan or have it turn into a Champ Icebrood.
I really wish Tengu were playable
Yeah, this is a legendary collection from a meta boss, it should be a guaranteed drop.
I kinda want a unique dialogue in an instance if you brought someone else rather than doing solo, just for the heck of it.
I always thought there are possible multiple pact commanders after “absorbing” all of the story instances, with orders happening at the same time too.
I refuse to admit any of you exist.
so if I poke you, I’ll phase through?
Funny thing, Taimi was fawning over Scarlet, and guess what Scarlet was.
Would be hilarious if Taimi is responsible for the next expac.
My main problem honestly comes from races and their importance to the story/meta-story.
Because lately, the pecking order of importance are asura > sylvari > human > the rest. Hell, I’d argue human race is only up there because of established GW1 lore. Seriously, unless you’re an asura or sylvari you’re pretty much unimportant to the story, and this really sucks.
Basically my argument is – how can they make something interesting if they keep on insisting this one true race to be either a) super special snowflake or b) technobabble galore where we can pull kitten out of our kitten
(edited by Ookamikun.6472)
I got both in the same day which had them as a daily too. With that said, for Ignis it was a “press F” loot unlike Aestus.
I’d go with neither. The final HoT story instance occurs concurrently with the DS meta. It wouldn’t make sense for the commander to be in two places.
what if it was some high ranking pact soldier who temporarily took over as commander while “you” are away?
Obviously we are all referred to as the Pact Commander in the story and treats us that we’re the only one there, but in the event stories, they do acknowledge that there is more than one player in the field. And most of these event stories are considered something that happened, like the Silverwastes meta or the Dragon Stand meta.
So who are the other players to us exactly? Are they treated as Pact Soldiers as we are Pact Commanders? Or are they actually Commanders too since multiple commanders could exist in a chain of command? Most of the time they are seen as “other adventurers” but in certain meta stories they are considered part of the Pact.
My problem with certain JPs is that they often lack direction (i.e. hints to where to jump) and essentially a problem that plagued SAB – camera. One thing they often forget is that in platformers, cameras at least try to adjust passively to your viewpoint even if you could manually change them. You can’t do that in GW2 and thus it’s annoying you have to reposition the camera every single time when you’re in certain areas.
Oh and there’s the terrain/floor hitbox but that’s a general GW2 problem.
Basically we have our technobabble, a specific form of deus ex machina using science/technology (though some argue technomagic should also fit) to move the plot.
Clearly we need quaggans.
The worm always spawns. Always.
However, since the mercenary event bugs out (as you say: the mercs stop appearing sometimes), we sometimes have to wait a while before the boss appears. I think the longest I’ve been on a map between merc start and wurm spawn is just under an hour.So wait it out or change maps (there are plenty for the moment), while ANet investigates the 13,187 reports (including at least a dozen forum posts) about this issue.
Definitely a bug, definitely should be fixed. At least there’s a work-around (even if it’s ugly & inconvenient).
wait, what workaround, you mean map changing?
So lately I’ve been rarely encountering the bloodstone wurm in Heathen’s Hold in Draconis Mons. Back then it spawned frequently but now you get lucky if you do get in one.
Part of the problem is that the mercenaries won’t spawn. Or rather, they spawn but not as fast. What bugs me is that only the mercs with cross-swords on their head count rather than the other mercs on the map within the event circle.
They should really fix this as certain collections and achievements are tied to it. I’m lucky enough to get them but still…
Yeah I agree that there’s really no incentive to deal both bosses as the game only treats killing one for loot.
Also I find it weird that for a (pair of) boss that spawns from a long meta, they have a generic fight song unlike the wurm which had a boss fight music lol
There’s also Calamity. She’s a “named” merc too like Ro. Her gimmick however is spamming as much as condis on you while spamming summons and occasionally cc-ing you. I think she’s the only named merc who is harder to kill solo.
With that said I don’t know their purpose (Ro, Calamity, and that one other guy). Apparently there’s an event that supposedly they must participate, but I don’t see it.
The tube near the Mariner WP only goes to the south, but most of the action happens at the eastern area of the Savage area.
ye, but there’s another thermal tube just up the hill. you can tell from the map I linked a few posts up
Huh, didn’t realize there was a tube there.
iirc the destroyers respawn
also what I hate is that getting hit on the ground still counts as hit while gliding
I mean, personally I don’t see anything wrong with HMS Divinity. I like cannon-looking weapons and the body of the weapon looking like a frigate pretty much complements it. I guess people are turned off by the sails?
