Still broken today following the big patch. How do we complete our story? Ive played since day one, and have finally got to this stage just to be told “sorry, its broken, and we have no plans to fix it”? Really? Jeez.

yes, anyone that plays can finish this achievement in under 10sec. Achievements are supposed to get players out and doing different things. If it gets a non-crafter crafting, then I’d say it is working as intended.

What if it makes a non-crafter just give up the game and quit? We wont have a game in a year and that would a shame, cos this game is great.

How on earth does one do this thing? Never worked it out!

I hope this is not suddenly going to force us to group in order to complete dailies. One of the things my GF loves most at the moment in the game is being able to log on for an hour or so each night and complete her dailies quietly. Taking this away is going to alienate a lot of your playerbase. Maybe not the noisy minority on these forums, but the silent majority who like to casually log on and run about.

As long as it doesn’t raise the level-cap, I’d definitely buy any expansion, since I’m still having a blast 500 hours in. To be honest, it feels like the game is just starting to gain momentum and we haven’t seen the best of it yet.

Yes of course, why wouldn’t I? Its a good solid fun game, I’m loving exploring the world, as are all my friends. Why have you even posted the question, unless its some sort of veiled threat about how you wouldn’t. Well, I doubt they will worry too much, as the other 3 million players will.

Just a suggestion, but it would be really handy when I find armor and weapons, to see maybe a couple of my key characters and how it compares to them, as well as the character I am on. I picture a system where your current is in the middle, and alts are around them in smaller boxes.

Then I would easily know which pieces I needed across my account.

The non-stop overflow servers on the hundreds of world servers are just created by Anet to give the illusion of lots of players, in reality its just you and that guy you met a few weeks ago.

Oh and of course they just banned around 30,000 bots, who had been reported by players this month – so those few thousand players (including you I guess) have been REALLY busy!

Allow me to just let my very active guild know that they may as well quit due to the servers being empty now. Thank god you warned us all!

Why not go all the way, and make every piece of content in the game super easy so anyone, including my cat and my 2 year niece can do it, first time? Surely then everyone will be happy!

Of course, the game would be boring as anything, and most players would stop playing after a few days, but at least those who find jumping puzzles hard would be happy.

Hi, I think my event minipet got lost on her way to me. I paid for todays toy, the gems left the total, but the mail didn’t arrive.

I checked my bank collection slot, my bag etc, logged out and in again, and nothing.

As the title says, can we have a wardrobe for town clothes?

I have bought most of the clothes on the gem store, and collect the event ones (as I RP a lot with the guild). I’d like to keep them organised, but don’t want them taking up space in my bank.

If you could add a new tab, like the collection one, that would be awesome.

If you want to go all the way to ubercool, could you give us a travelling luggage that arrives when you summon it, and that you open to see your clothes tab?

Have any of you played World of Warcraft, EverQuest, EverQuest 2, or any of these style of online game?

If so, you will know that for their holiday events you do quests, and the quest giver offers you a choice of rewards, and sometimes those can be little pets (if you were really lucky).

Remember how you picked the one you hoped would be the rarest, the one hopefully not everyone had? And remember how you knew the only way to get ALL of the pets or rewards was to play the game for a number of years, and collect them all each holiday season?

The ONLY difference here is that here you also have the choice to “skip the queue” and buy them with cash. If anything, its cheating. Real players collect them using the in-game mechanics and are pretty happy when they do it.

Although most people apart from you love them. So, maybe you should try any other game, as GW2 is the only MMO to have this unique and fun content.

Have you played GW2 before posting this? The forced multiplayer takes up about 10% of the game, if that.

I agree with the OP. Its a pain in the rear to find pickup groups, who squabble and quit halfway. Give me the normal GW2 style “jump in and have a go” ‘solo multiplayer’ anyday.

Hi, I love the water splashes on the screen when you get out of the water, adds a lovely touch of realism.
It would be amazing if, when it rained, you got the drops on the screen like that, maybe lighter or heavier depending on the storm. Really heavy storms could almost reduce visability right down for everyone.

Could add a really nice realism. Could be annoying. So, an on/off switch might be needed I guess.

Just got mails 1, 2 and 3 all together, documenting the whole event, all halfway through the 1st event.

Excited? No not really. I hate gear grind (sorry, I mean “item progression”) as I work full time and do not have time to chase those extra gear stats – and as a result I can not join in the higher level dungeons or areas. So, Anet, you’re just basically excluding me from the top of this game.

This sounds to me like you ran out of ideas, so just went “Well, what does WoW do? Oh yeah, adds new stats, lets do that”. I really thought you were more original than that.

Forcing players to grind out the same dungeons over and over and over again, just to gain a few more stats, in order to do another dungeon over and over and over again is just not fun.

However, your choice, your game, but you will lose alot of customers sadly.

How does this effect WvW? If my opponent has Ascended Uber Armour, the skill of the player goes out the window and it becomes the best geared who will win.

So, six months on from here, as a player who works all day and only plays casually, I will now be unable to get Gold from events, as all the players with more time on their hands are now all decked out in Raid gear (sorry I mean “Ascended”) and being able to be much more powerful than me?

This puzzle was the best thing I have seen in an MMO Holiday event, and I spent most of the weekend learning it, and when I beat it I was over the moon. You made an incredible puzzle, so please don’t stop making things like this!

Been playing MMO’s since Ultima Online, through EQ, EQ2, WoW, LOTRO, Vanguard, Rift and more…. and this is hands down the best holiday event I have seen.

If you can do things like this on a regular basis, then I will be here and buying gems for a long long time! Well done Anet!

Can’t imagine how you folks would have got on in the early days of MMOs.
Can you imagine having to walk to a location, learn how to make runes, learn how to mark a rune, create a run for your location, add it to your spell book, and then cast an interuptable spell before you can get back?

Hi, I’ve been playing since Beta, but my GF bought her account almost 2 weeks ago.

She found one of the rare halloween items in a chest using a key she bought on the gemstore.

She tried to sell the item on the TP (as it was going for 25g) but she needed 1g50s in order to list it, so I mailed her 2g. She sold it, then tried to send me back the cash but got an error about not sending money on new accounts.

Thats fine, we’re all in support of stopping botting, but can we have an indicator of when the limit is lifted? I want my gold back!

I got my first gold at level 30. At level 10 I have a couple of silver.

You do not make lots of money in this game till you get to high levels.

They have had a team working on holiday events for years. They should have a fair few lined up by now.

I bought 5 keys which got me nothing, but then used them to make 4 MadKing chests, and found 1 rare item which sold for 16g, with which I bought 1,500 gems and upgraded my account with new character slot and bank slot.

My GF bought 1 key and got a rare item that sold for 25g. She bought pets and dye with it….

One of my guildies bought £20 worth of keys and got nothing.

So, it really was an odd lottery. I feel everyone should have got something fun at least, like a themed cracker that guarentees a nice halloween themed prize, but has the chance for also a very rare prize. At least people would know what they were getting then.

It doesnt matter about low framerates – if you go the right route, you will be way ahead of the crowd and will have time to think and compensate.

Maybe Arenanet would be very nice and allow you to buy a serial, and then use it to re-activate your old account if you explain you are the victim of a possible fraud?

Great puzzle, very very fustrating, but very enjoyable, and met some nice new people.

I agree, but I think everything rare and hard to achieve should be in the gem store. That way, rich people can have everything straightaway, and the poorer people can struggle, grind and work hard for the achievements whilst looking up at the richer people and wishing they were as rich as them.

Cant beat a two tier class system in a computer game.

i too give. This puzzle isn’t about skill, It’s about luck. It’s poorly designed, and poorly executed. Add in the artificle difficulty enhancers (i.e. the forced pauses at certain points) it becomes impossible for anyone who doesn’t have the reflexes of a teenager. I was looking forward to the halloween event, but after working on this puzzle for hours and still not able to get farther then the first chest i dread the rest of whats to come.

Anet, social events are suppose to be fun. You’ve seem to have forgotten that. They’re not suppose to be about who has the best skills, or the connection, or the most money to burn. They’re suppose to be fun for all, not just a select few.

Seeing as how the tower is like this, and the other events so far are some what lacking, I’m going to go waste my time in BF3 until sometime in November. Hopefully the next event you have doesn’t boost such poor judgement as this does.

Its less a problem that its difficult. I can handle difficult. But there are portions where my character just gets caught every time. If it were difficult merely due to timing and reflexes I;d be okay with that. I’d learn and do it. It’s just not smooth.

And yet, thousands of players have managed to learn the timings and completed it. If it were a bug, this would not be the case.

Those parts where you get stuck, that’s where you have to learn your timings and reflexes.

It’s fine the way it. May take 100 times to learn it, but thats the challenge. Enjoy.

I’m not sure if you’re aware of this, but your gem prices seem extremely expensive when it comes to your pound sterling conversion.

800 gems costs £8.50 – this is the same price as a monthly subscription in other MMOs
1600 gems costs £17.00 – this is the cost of your official limited edition hard bound strategy guide

For £35 I could buy a new copy of the game, with 5 character slots (for which you charge £8.50 per slot on the BLTC or £42.50 for the 5).

Your costumes cost 700 gems – or presumably £7. This is the cost of a DVD or CD.
Your BL Chest keys costs 450 gems or the price of a McDonalds meal.

If I want to get a couple of halloween items, I am paying out almost as much as the game cost me originally.

I don’t mind laying down £10 a month, or even £15 at a push (twice that of other subscription MMOs) if the investment is worth it, but for a costume I can use once on one character, or some keys that get me nothing in return, this is just not worth it.

I think you need to either reduce the cost of your gems, or reduce the gem cost of your items. There is a recession on, and people cant afford to throw this much money at virtual items that have such a tiny shelf life, when compared to other media.

The point is not where the creator of the game is based, the point SHOULD be where their customer is based.
I bought Guild Wars 2 from a UK shop. I paid in pounds sterling. I play on an EU server with other EU players. I buy gems from their store in pounds sterling (at almost twice the rate of the US players) and English is the primary language.
So… for almost all the EU / UK players, to then be told “But cos we are american we therefore get everything first” is pretty galling, and smacks of lazyness or worse, elitism.
If you can be bothered to sell a game in another country, convert your prices to their currency, and speak their language, then at least have the decency to update their game at a reasonable time thats not based on some arbitary US timeframe.

Tried it, got non stop errors about dll’s missing from Direct X. Didnt get those errors with any other Direct X program every, so going to call “be careful what you download” on this one. Had to restart the PC to stop the constant error pop-ups.

Your own argument can be used against you, Jenks..What’s the point of Holiday events if they end the day before the Holiday in the place the game is actually made? Personally, I’d suggest they start the last phase on the 30th, and end it on the first, that way the events are ‘timed’ for every time zone..But also gives twice as long for people to get things.

Unfortunately Arenanet is an American Company, and thus they’ll set their dates by their own calendar. This has always been the way of game companies, so it shouldn’t come as a great surprise. Disappointing, perhaps, but since the calendar ticks over before 12am on the first, you can still do the event during Halloween itself, since the stage changes will likely be automated.

What does “where its made” matter? iphones are made in China, but you’d throw a fit if they only worked correctly when you entered Asian airspace!

Oh ok. Hopefully they will launch it at a decent time for the EU servers then, and not expect us to bow down to what the US happens to be doing. We do pay alot more for Gems then them afterall!
