I’d have to go with people parking alts and doing them on all their alts every time is the problem. Guesting really? No way it’s the people with all their alts. The overflows didn’t happen until the loot changed. Guesting came in before and there weren’t any problems. It’s the loot change and the alts. People just want an easy way to get rares. Park alts at the events and log in for that only. Simple.

Blame your home server brothers and sisters with the huge alt families. I’d have loved to seen them stop the guesting for a week when the loot change happened. You’d have still gotten overflows. It won’t matter now as things are dying down and people are getting bored of jumping on to only play alts for these events.

Anybody who says the problem came with guesting needs to reevaluate that thought. Guesting was out before this problem. The problem came when the loot changed. So why blame guesting? There’s plenty of guests who don’t change servers just to get those stupid chests.

Guesting doesn’t allow for more chests. You can still only get one chest per character. That’s false information that you can get more than one per character by guesting. Some people do it to make it to a more convenient time. I seriously doubt it’s all that many people though.

This is so funny. I’m gonna laugh if they get rid of guesting and you guys are all still stuck in overflows just because of all the the “home server” campers. I wonder who’ll be the scapegoat then?

We didn’t have this problem until the loot changed. Guesting’s been around longer than this problem.

I actually like them. I’m not going to buy them though because I don’t have enough bank space for costumes and town clothes for all my characters. I’m also not buying several sets. I wish you could just get one and all your characters could use them. Guess they can’t go back and do it now though ’cause people who have gotten several for all their characters would be upset.

I really love that they’re coming out with new town clothes but we need somewhere to keep them all too.

The boots and the gloves are from the basic medium armour that medium armour classes are born with. They’re the rawhide bracers and boots.

I’m sure we’d have a lot of people complaining that they spent a ton of money on cultural armour and they didn’t realize they wouldn’t be able to equip it xD

Playing with your friends was your reward. Better you get nothing than I get stuck in an overflow on my own @#$% server. Want a chest? Get it on your own server. Not being able to get to events on your own server is a deal killer.

Make the chest account based instead of character based. Then all your home server campers won’t be taking up your spot either

I still say the best solution(if it’s even possible to do) may be to make the timer universal or totally random.

I’m not even on a high pop server and we had no problem in Orr and the Dragon events almost always had plenty of people before this patch.

Changing the loot tables back to before the patch is just as easy and just as annoying a fix as making it so guests don’t get chests. I’d rather not screw over guesting.

I hope the idea of making the timers universal is a practical fix for Arenanet. I’d like to see if that can fix the issue. Especially if it can occur the same in overflows. That way nobody gets screwed.

Least intrusive fix. The problem is nobody wants to think they are the problem. Guests aren’t the problem. It’s players, ALL players, who just load alts through the events. The home world campers don’t want their camping messed up so they blame the guests. That or just revert the loot to pre patch. When the loot changed is when the problem starting happening NOT when guesting started.

I’m an alt-aholic and I used to be against making these chests account wide but it seems to be the best answer without hitting hanging out with friends. Stop trying to screw with guesting.

Best solution is to put the loot tables back to where they were. The overflow issue happened when that changed, NOT when guesting came. Guests should have the same chance as everyone else.

They better not mess with guesting by stopping chests from dropping. That’s just ridiculous. Guesting isn’t even the problem. It’s the new loot tables. I’d be pretty upset if I didn’t get my chest when I hang out with friends.

People complain forever that guesting isn’t in the game. They give it to us and now everyone’s complaining that it is in the game.

People complain that the dragons aren’t worth it because of the loot. They give us better loot and people complain about it.

What about guesting to lower population servers?

I don’t have many if any lag issues at the dragons. Well at least not Claw. I have had lag at Shatterer though. Nothing as bad as what you guys are describing. I have noticed a lot more people at the dragons. It’s pretty awesome. People seem a lot more open to talking now.

It actually does say it if you mouse over it on the Monthlies screen. It would better if it was said a bit better on the UI though.

Maybe since the beefed up the enemies they could just beef up the npcs a bit.

Those dark blue ones are pretty kitten awesome. I like the bottom pink one too. I have a Charr that fits these perfectly.

We were having a similar problem with Jonez during the Grenth run. It doesn’t happen very often, but rarely when we have a very large group a bunch of those risen flesh knights spawn and just murder Jonez with that ground spell they have. It doesn’t happen very often at all but when it does it’s a shocker and there’s not much you can do about it. He goes down in like 2 seconds it seems.

Holy cow! I want those shorts too. Those are awesome. Maybe they’ll be available this summer =D

Yeah I met a lot of good friends running from dragon to dragon. Saying we don’t interact with the community is way off base. We’d hang out and talk or run do a nearby event waiting for the dragons. All freaking day too. I just hope we don’t lose that now. Hopefully we can evolve with the update. I’d be very sad to lose those friendships.

Also, I always thought Claw was pretty fun. The other dragons definitely need tweaking though.

I use the Warband support every time it’s available. I find it pretty useful. The cooldown is silly and the fact that they’re only there for 30 seconds is pretty sad too though. I’m a guardian so I love having them out plus my spirit weapons. I was always jealous of those necros and their little minion parties…

I find it most useful for when I’m trying to run through Orr. If I come upon a group of enemies I just toss the Warband out as a distraction and keep running.

I thought the quaggan was way too cutesy for my Charr to wear but I was ecstatic when I saw this in the gem store. It’s awesome

I love it. I just wish the tiger one wasn’t black lion chest only. I never waste my money on that stuff. I’m buying a second regular Charr backpack as soon as I decide what character to give it to.

My only gripe is that he doesn’t have two sets of horns. At least not that I could see.

You’ve got to have a couple people keeping the priest busy. Most should focus on the shades though.

I’ve seen a wipe when everyone was on the shades. Priest just walked over and iced Jonez. I assume it was because everyone was in the hallways with the shades and the priest had a clear shot for him?

Like someone said earlier, you can only get those chests once per day per character. I bet they’ll go down at first but then go back up to what they are now fairly quickly.

It’s tricky though. I’ve seen many people getting four rares from one chest. So who knows. Pretty dumb though. Those things definitely aren’t “rare” now.

there may be many who do the events in hte next week, but slowly im sure the amount will decrease. because once the event is completed for the day, people will not wait around for a 2nd or 3rd time. thus it will be harder to gather enough ppl eventually.

Exactly. Definitely not good. Why add the temples to this? There’s no reason. It’ll make it really hard to get these done. This is very bad for Orr and the Dragons. I can kinda understand the Maw. I mean that thing happens all the time and it’s a low level event. Why the dragons and the temples though? So they really want high level people to run around in low level zones? Why should we? There’s still no reward.

Claw was really fun with all those people and the temples were fun too. I doubt we’ll see those events with nearly as many people. And no they aren’t going to be doing other things. They’re just not gonna be logging in anymore.

I just don’t understand why it was done. Can anyone explain the reasoning behind this? Why make the high level events give a chest once a day? It’s not like they were dropping precursors left and right.

With asura I try doubling a letter not at the end. Doubling in the begging has worked well so far. I actually do the same for sylvari. I find a welsh/celtic/whatever name and double a letter.

(Name) the (adjective) works well for any race really. It’s slightly more awkward lore wise for sylvari but it’s not that big a deal. Works best for Norn I guess.

Charr and Humans have it the easiest. I’ve never had trouble with them. Just do the good old first name + last name. I love making Charr names. It’s my favorite by far.

I agree. The interaction between them is pretty stale. She’s a mesmer. If she was really interested in him I’m sure she could find a way to see him secretly. She’s just using him.

Meh. He was fine. I liked him well enough he just wasn’t anything interesting(never understood the hate there). I do think his Wyld Hunt is over and he should let others take the lead with the other dragons. Heck if you’re a sylvari that’s your Wyld Hunt. Caithe’s too I think?

Anyway I would like to see some humans take a bigger lead. They’re pretty downtrodden right now and it’d be great if they were able to regain some of their former glory.

I actually totally thought Destiny’s Edge would have a bigger show in the main story not just the dungeons. I’d love to see more of them.

I don’t know. Maybe 3-4 at the laurel lady, 5-6 at the bank, same by the forge. I think usually like 3 people at the weapon smith. Lots of people coming in and out at the trading post. Probably about the same number as the bank? More now though. Counted 8 as I’m standing here.

Daffodil is also a nice gold. For silver try burnished steel or graphite.

I don’t have any idea what the problem could be. Maybe post in the tech support forum? Or maybe a support ticket?

For another test go stand by the laurel charr near the mist gates. Always lots of people standing there too. I’ve been playing all day and LA has been bustling every time I’ve gone in.

When I go to open world, I always meet 1-3 guys doing DE, wherever the map.
When I fight dragons there’s always a lot lot of people…

I’m from NSP too. I always see lots of people. Not just Queensdale either. I always run into people while questing. We have many people in Orr and I never have trouble with DE just about wherever I am. Isee lots of people standing around in LA too. Especially in front of the bank and near the crafting stations.

I’d look into tech issues OP.

Not sure about the tribal look really. I think the Charr are very forward looking and forward thinking in this game and looking tribal would be looked down upon. Like if people in the industrial age starting wearing tribal looking clothes.

That said more options is never a bad thing. There are Charr in the Citadel trying to get it legalized to worship gods again so why not have the tribal clothes option? They could be like puritans or whatever.

The point of the new update is for guilds to work together. Something they have to work together to do. One person guilds already have content they can do.

The Einhander is probably the shortest I’ve seen.

For a sabre try the Orrian Sabre. It’s curved but it does look like it was under water for around 150 years. It constantly drips water too.

That’s just the weapon he’s wielding. The Legendary Juggernaut does that to your armour.

You must be just missing us. We roll out at 8 on the dot from Meddler’s waypoint to Grenth. Ask on map chat if you can’t find us.

Northern Shiverpeaks does temple runs almost every weeknight starting at 5pm server time/8pm EST actually. Starts with Grenth and ends with Balthazar.

As for the quaggan blue I’d say river is pretty close. On metal it is at least. For the brown try hazel. No clue what the earth attunement looks like but hazel’s a nice medium brown. You could try mohair as well.

You can screen shot them, get the name, friend them and then report them.

If it’s a regular old node and you see this behavior then chances are it’s a bot. Actually they removed the rich ori vein from the cove anyway.

I use Greatsword as Ranger, it has an evade on auto attack so I get a lot of constant dodges, using weapons that have an evade will help

I think people are more banking on new people, who weren’t here for the event, wanting them.

I have noticed on occasion a male-bodied Charr with a female voice up at the harpy mortar quest by Vir’s Gate Waypoint. Could be a similar mistake. If you look at the face and the rest of the body you should be able to tell for sure. They don’t share any faces.

Male and female Charr have different tails. Male tails are lion-like while female tails are fluffy. Is that what you mean?

So, I went with white fur and green eyes. I threw away his town clothes shirt, and I loved how he just glowed when in the sunlight, but I began to see just how many white charr there are. When I rerolled him later, I went with grey and brown tiger stripes.

I really, really love the daytime glow of white Charr. I have a Sylvari pal I always explore with. We always laugh at how I glow in the day and he glows at night.
