Must say though, being rather casual, even I’m kinda starting to see that once I have a 80 of every profession and a couple more world completion, and finally geared up my main, there not too much else.

There really isn’t. I’ve got seven lvl 80s, and I’ve done world completion. There just isn’t really that much left to do in this game sadly. I’m thinking of trying dungeons since I’ve never done that as the community there doesn’t seem too friendly.

If the living story was replayable, I’d go through it with a bunch of my characters. As it is, there’s just no new stuff to even replay. At least with an expansion I could play the heck out of it til the next one came out even if it took a year.

I’d definitely get a skritt backpack. Especially if it was Skritt King ;D

Nope. Only one. Same with the armor. Well with that you get two. You get one to use now, and then a skin of the same for later.

Video game companies always do this stuff now. That’s why I wait a good long while before I pick up games. NEVER EVER buy a game when it comes out.

If you wait, you get the game and all the extra goodies, dlc, etc for cheap I have no idea why so few gamers have figured this out yet.

I just really wish something had been added to the core game. I feel like nothing’s changed in the story. Now that it’s gone, it’s gone, you know?
Maybe after this upcoming patch it’ll be interesting again.

I really don’t think adding more check boxes and retyping of names is gonna fix this specific problem. The more of those things you add, the more people are going to be frustrated and NOT read what they’re doing.

The only thing that MIGHT work is show you the inventory of the character and tell you that all these items will be deleted too, and then have you type out the character’s name.

Just report idiots, block them, and be done with it. There’s no point in saying anything to people like that. Why bother with them? You can’t change stupid people.

I’m assuming you can’t see speech bubbles when you block people right? I’ve never tested it. I’ve pretty much just gotten used to ignoring speech bubbles, myself.

I really don’t think an option going as far as to auto block everyone else is a good idea. How would you meet new people? Not everyone’s like that. You can’t live in a bubble, man. There’s still some pretty cool people in this game.

With the living story gone I’ve realized there’s nothing to do in guild wars. I log in, giggle at the Queensdale champ train drama and then log off and find something else to do.

Server pride? When Anet introduces free transfers or a new season people hop from server to server like the world select menu is a bouncy castle.

Yeah, I’m not really sure many people in WvW have server pride as it now anyway. They had to stop free transfers to make it sane out there.
I don’t think the megaserver change is gonna affect WvW much at all.

I saw JQ,BG, and TC at “very high” this morning at about 6:30 ET. I thought they lifted the cap a bit but they’re back to full now. Just try at different times. I don’t care why it happens, but they do change throughout the day.

Nobody here does that :P

Capes are longer. For humans, norn, asuran, sylvaris they are fine.

I seriously doubt the kind of capes y’all want would be fine. They’ll just clip horrendously with all the armor people wear and your weapons. Charr are probably the least of the dev’s worries with capes. Plus, it’d be easy enough to not allow charr to wear them anyway. I seriously doubt many charr would care about wearing a cape anyway, lmao.

I’m betting the best that’s gonna happen are fancy butt capes like the norn T3.

I think in the ferocity blog post they had said they wanted to INCREASE the build diversity and then they throw this rune thing in which specifically says they want to DECREASE diversity.

It’s like a bunch of different people are working towards different goals on the dev team and they don’t talk to each other. I don’t see the point in wanting people to use a whole set of the same runes. Isn’t it cool to see the different ways people mix and match runes?

What I’m more worried about is the horrendous clipping issues that’d happen with everyone else. Weapons are already pretty hilarious. Capes would be even funnier. I’m just not sure GW2 can handle it. I’m sure there’s some armors that’d go horrible with them too.

You’d probably be able to turn them off though (for you and others hopefully).

Oh man. That Norn hairstyle should be available for everyone. It is exactly what I’d been needing for my Norn character. EXACTLY what I needed I tell you.

Human males particularly need the awesomeness. They’re a little on the uhh…..hmm. Well I’ll just say they really need this hair.

The issue is there should be no “home servers” for PvE. The guesting system is to fix the issue WvW brings by creating servers. Everyone has the right to join an event in any server. “Home server” means nothing in PvE. They need to get rid of servers altogether.

PvE should just have districts like GW1 had. When one fills, another is created. A zone should exist across all servers. It’d make it a ton easier to play with your friends and the queue would mean nothing.

Today’s MMOs are populated by a lot of wallflower type players who like having other players around but aren’t really interested in or are afraid to interact with them. In some respects I can’t blame them. Online gamers can be absolutely brutal. On the other hand it’s like “Why are you playing if you’re not interested in playing with people.” GW2’s approach and mechanics make it an excellent game for these type of players, however.

Well and the worst part of the community has actually trained these wallflower players to turn off mapchat. And guild wars has a lot of wallflowers, you’re right.

I can understand it. I’ve got a chat tab labeled “Queensdale” that has map chat and various other things turned off so I can play in peace.

The better option is really just to block the idiots. That way you can still see instructions.

The other thing is yeah, guild wars itself has been training people to just auto attack. I think it’ll take a bit for people to switch gears. Trouble is, we don’t have the time with these short lived achievements. Also, with the ability to just to the dailies, people don’t have to learn to do the “harder” ones.

I don’t think of butterflies as being feminine either but every race having different effects would be pretty cool.

One change though. Charr mesmers shouldn’t have cogs, they should have tiny colorful charr. Charr are the symbol of change because they are ever changing and moving forward and it’d just be generally awesome.

I’ve kinda wondered this too. If low pop server players get annoyed enough and spend the money to move to expensive servers then that’s someone who doesn’t get a free transfer if servers merge. I really hope it’s just paranoia though because that’s really crappy.

I think we should get rid of servers all together so there are no “natives”. The entire concept is ridiculous.

We should just have districts or channels or whatever for the PvE zones. That way there shouldn’t be empty areas and you can easily join your friends in whatever district they’re in.

PvE doesn’t need servers. It only hurts us. Natives don’t have anymore right to the map. Guesting is the way Anet fixes it so they could have WvW. Get rid of your “natives only” concept. It really doesn’t make sense, and if you’re on a full server, this limited stuff probably wouldn’t even help you. There’s more than 150 people on your server anyway.

I don’t care one way or the other really. I enjoy the huge group zergings and I’ll grab a group for those if someone invites me, or I’ll even start one especially for temples.

I don’t do dungeons or fractals though. If I had enough friends that played, I’d probably do those things, and I definitely don’t do pugs. The general community for those things is really crappy. In my experience, those players aren’t playing for fun.

So I like the big groups since it’s easy to ignore idiots and still do the content. Small groups, not so much. Maybe I just haven’t had good luck with small groups, but it’s pretty much the same in all MMOs.

Personally, I think getting a huge group like is really fun. I loved getting to the Scarlet hologram fight with everybody. It was a big rush for me. I was actually afraid going up on the teleporter would require a tiny team.

For me, these huge fights are awesome. I love zerging, especially when it’s for a real goal. Temple runs are just about my favorite thing to do. It’s a new thing for me and I’m kinda done playing the single hero. It’s just old news and boring to me.

All that said, I don’t see anything wrong with adding more party play for people that like it. I just really hope they don’t get rid of these huge fights altogether. I think they’re really fun.

Yeah, my main server doesn’t have enough people to throw me into overflow (and they just can’t do anything once in there). I know the big servers do, so I guest there.

What I meant was that I guest to actually get into an overflow. My server never makes them. Overflows do better than my main in LS events.

Yep, that’s what I do. These overflows consistently get 1200 for me.

They definitely need to get rid of servers for PvE. It only hurts us. I have to guest to get anything done in events like these. Heck, I guest just to get into an overflow. I’ve never been in an overflow that’s gotten fewer than 900 citizens and most of them are still getting 1200.

My main barely gets 600 on a good night.

Get rid of servers for PvE. It’d be one of the best things they could do for this game.

Or maybe we should get rid of overflows and bring the queue system back. Maybe that’d make you high pop server people move to other servers :P

It’s probably more like the map couldn’t handle all the dead people if they were to show them.
It’s bad enough hearing all the screams anyway. I don’t mind that there’s not 40k+ corpses on the ground.

Not really. You need to keep areas with the portals or whispers agents clear or all the civilians will die anyway. I think a lot of people don’t realize this and just resurrect/encourage and forget. The mobs repop really fast too. The western ward area is a paradise for bags and civilians to rescue. Just run between the beach and the Undermarket.

Of course, if there’s a ton of people, then the mobs can’t repop fast enough, but then you just go somewhere else. There’s several area like this. The Eastern Ward has the troll areas with civilians to save and several events pop there too for your bag needs. Also, the Crow’s Nest and Coriolis Plaza are good places too, but that one’s not as good for mobs. Still needs to be kept clear for civilians to run through though.

I’m sure there’s others, but those are the ones I go between. For the most part, I think the zerg is ok. If there’s some people keeping watch at key civilian locations then it doesn’t matter.

I really can’t understand you guys about overflows.
I’ve only ever gotten 1200 on overflows. My main server barely gets 700. I usually just guest to a heavily populated server so I know I’ll get into overflow at least. I’m glad they changed it from 1500. Maybe one day my main server will get there :P

I learned probably ten years ago to never plan stuff around an MMO patch time. I remember playing Mabinogi many years ago and eagerly awaiting the release of the new continent and races. That was a huge debacle. I think that one took maybe three days? And the game was offline the entire time. Bahaha! Old fogy tale, sorry.
Ever since then I plan for a day or two after I’m rarely disappointed now. Never, ever plan for patch day.

GW has been the best mmo for patches in my experience. Just hold tight OP. The patch’ll hit and it won’t be nearly as great as you thought anyway.

Holy cow if they made one for each city I’d buy them all in a heart beat too. Awesome idea.

Also, it definitely needs to come back. I have a couple friends who missed out the first time and they’re dying to get it.

I’d say having a world PvP server would be fine.

I hate the idea of world PvP, dueling, etc, but maybe this way we could get all those folks in the same place and not have to hear from them anymore. It kinda reminds me of that abandoned cruise ship with the cannibal rats. They’re happy killing each other, and we don’t have to see them anymore.
I really don’t see what’d be wrong with a server of their own. As long as they don’t turn it on all the servers then it’s fine with me.

Just block and report the bashers. They bring down the whole moral of the fight. Yes, so does failing a chain, but these guys are worse.
I think some people just take more time to learn, but it is happening! I’ve been succeeding at this fight more consisting lately. It’s like a switch was finally thrown and people are understanding it.
My home server is very negative so I guest just to get into an overflow at least. My home server never seems to win and I guess nobody wants to do it anymore. I’ve been in countless overflows where people keep up moral and explain tactics very well. It’s a much better experience.

Some people just won’t be patient and truthfully, some players don’t want to learn tactics either, but that doesn’t mean you have to bring the moral of the entire group down. When you bash everyone in mapchat, you’re bashing the people who honestly were trying too.

My advice to everyone else is to just block these people and report them if it warrants that. You’ll have a much better experience.
