I like to kill the scales on the hill and I run into countless people asking where it is. If they’re running around aimlessly I usually ask them if that’s what they’re looking for and then swim them over XD

I’m not positive but did you try the blue black next to blackest black? If that’s not it then it’s probably not in the game.

I actually haven’t seen a whole lot of them on my server. I actually take a lot of pictures of other Charr I see.

The only thing I’ve noticed is that the snow white Charr are much easier to spot. I do see a lot of Charr with white base coats though. Tiger pattern is fairly popular but I also see a lot of male Charr with the splotchie cow pattern. It’s one of my favorites though so I might just notice it more

I personally have 2 white base coat Charr. One is orange tiger striped (female) the other is red splotchie cow (male). I have three with black base coats and last I have a solid grey.

One common factor I have seen is that female Charr tend to be lighter colours while the males I see are darker colours. This all just personally though. YMMV.

You couldn’t play in Orr in GW1, it sunk right before we embarked on our adventure after leaving the area known as “Pre” which was the starter area in the first campaign that was pretty much there to introduce you to the story and train you on how to play. However, that was how we knew what Ascalon looked like before the charr invaded and blasted it to bits with the Searing event (hence why it was known as “Pre” ie Pre-Searing). There is nowhere I know of that you can see the original priest/priestesses from Orr other than maybe Vizier Khilbron who was the one responsible for sinking Orr (in his human form anyway, although he was the king’s advisor not a priest).

It was pretty disappointing to find out you guys didn’t see Orr in the first game. I guess it does create a more mysterious feel to the place though. Maybe it’s a different feel to those who heard about it in the first game than to those of us just hearing about it for the first time in GW2.

We discovered Vizier Khilbron’s tower last week and THAT was exciting. We didn’t realize what we’d found at the end of that jumping puzzle til I looked it up on the wiki. We stayed there a long time taking pictures. It was a very cool moment.

Needless to say I think there should be more stuff on the city of Orr! Pictures, stories, whatever.

I would love some kind of pictures of pre-sunken Orr/uncorrupted Orr. I never played Guild Wars 1 so I had assumed it was in that game. I found a site detailing Old Ascalon and comparing it to the current Charr Ascalon. I was really disappointed to find out there wasn’t something similar for Orr.

The history of this game is so amazing to me. I spent most of time exploring the ruins of Ascalon before I hit 80 and found Orr. Wow, I mean wow. Orr is by far my favorite zone. It’s an explorer’s playground. Heck I just run around admiring the ruins and taking pictures of the scenery. It’s just amazing.

I would love some pictures and maps of a pristine Orr! Maybe what the priests and priestesses looked like before too. That would be really cool.

It’s generally cheaper to just buy the things. Like SuLor said, even for exotics you’d only be saving a small bit of gold by crafting if anything really.

Are you sure the To: line was blank? Sometimes when I have someone targeted (or just nearby maybe, I can’t tell) their name is automatically in the To: line. You just might not have noticed. I always have to check this. It’s happened several times to me.

I guess the blackest dye would be abyss. I think that armour has several black looking dyes. It probably has Abyss, Midnight Ice, and Midnight Fire.

Illumination, Redemption, and Honey Butter are my favorite gold substitutes.

It depends on the item. I think it asks for greens and above.

Just stay out of the discussion board. It’s actually the complaint board in disguise. The Players Helping Players board is very useful as are most of the other boards.

Even in collections in real life they just might not be attainable. Some things just aren’t made anymore while others are just so expensive it’s not realistic to own for some collectors. It’s the same in game.

Yeah, best advice would be to wait and hope that next year they’ll have the same minipets or that they’ll make these ones tradeable at some point. Not much else to do really :/
Just try not to let it get you down. This new development in how minipets are given makes it much more likely you’ll be disappointed if you try to collect them. When I saw that these ones were account bound I threw in the towel. Not gonna bother with them anymore.

I ran dungeons for weeks on “rare” gear and “masterwork” trinkets with “major” runes and “major” sigils. Sure 200 power makes a bit of a difference, but it doesn’t make you useless.

You can get all that for under 5 gold, while you far, dungeons for your tokens.

I agree totally. You can have a ton of fun and do just about everything in this game for way less than 50g per character.

Not necessarily. A lot of people liked the mini games too. Basically just don’t put any stock in getting anything from random boxes. You’ll be happier with the events. Try to enjoy the other things. Hopefully the next event will be more your thing.

Yep. I kept wondered why people were spamming notes in between songs until someone mentioned this like two days ago. I could have used that knowledge when I was first starting

It’s so weird hearing what people have problems with. The timers never got me. I thought they gave you plenty of time. What got me is just falling off/not jumping to where I should jump. I tend to fling my camera around a lot when jumping.

That’s what I did too sort of. I loved gingerbread man and snowman but hated seal or quaggan or whatever that blue one was. I still tried on it but not quite as seriously. I got it on gingerbread man. I found it easiest.

They had to make magic snow because regular Tyrian snow isn’t suitable for snowmen and is only occasionally suitable for snowball fights.

It’s a really easy one. I made it on the first day, probably less than an hour. This coming from someone who sucks at jumping puzzles.

The event lasts so long only to give people a chance to enjoy it. Many people wouldn’t have a chance to play if it was shorter. With it being the holidays lots of people are out of town or busy or whatever.

Just move on and do other things. Whatever’s left is for people who missed the first run is all.

This is a very poor excuse of those that are generally bad at jumping because you dont need to see your character to jump properly. As a matter of fact asuras are easiest race to complete anything jump-related because they suffer less from camera issues (for example just try to do Troll’s End with largest Norn or Charr).

This is so true. I always do the jumping puzzles on my asura. It’s way easier. I wasn’t able to do the halloween jumping puzzle on my Charr but got it with my asura. They do suffer fewer camera issues. It also helped me to STOP staring at my character. It’s a bad habit in jumping puzzles and fighting games.

The three paths helps to thin out the group. It was a great idea.

Most people complained that they placed too much work into greatswords, and that they get all the attention. So now they lose a wintersday skin. They still have one in the Gem Store if you really want one.

That’s the only answer I’ve heard for the greatsword.

You’re not alone the OP. There are tons of weapons that didn’t get skins at all. Heck, I don’t think the torch got a skin for any holiday yet.

That’s so funny. I’m the exact opposite OP. I was disappointed in just about everything for halloween but I’m loving wintersday. There were no skins to be had on halloween. It was all rare stuff from the boxes or temporary stuff while I love the wintersday skins and they’re easy to get. I love all the wintersday activities like snowball fight and the bells while I just didn’t mesh with the halloween stuff. It just felt like there was nothing to do. For wintersday I just loved the snowball fight in the LA square. I could do it all day.

The lore was cooler for halloween of course. I think the minis are better for wintersday but their acquisition was tons better for halloween. The jumping puzzle for wintersday was a big let down but the halloween one was amazing. I can understand the need to dumb it down though. It is supposed to be a charitable holiday

I would say just leave the whole mess alone. I won’t support those RNG boxes in any way. I won’t support people selling things from them either. Hopefully people will quit buying them. It’s the only way Anet will stop selling them.

I’d hold on to them if you have the bank space. If you don’t have the space get rid of them. No point in thinking about it too much. The next Wintersday event is a year away. I’ll be saving mine til I need the space for something else.

People are hilarious. I had already bought the extra minis but I really don’t mind the extra cogs either. It’s a wonderful gift for those who weren’t able to buy them.

I seriously don’t believe people complaining about this. Can’t say I didn’t see it coming though.

I have three favorites. I just can’t decide between them!

The Toy Soldier- I love his idle animation and I just love Charr in general. He’s perfect.
The Griffon Plushie – He’s adorable and I wish I could cuddle him.
Toy Ventari – I will never forget how funny it was to be fighting the other toys and have him be spouting wisdom, “The only lasting peace is the peace within your soul”. He’s also a pretty cool design as well. I love the different wooden segments. Very cool.

Invisible bags are useful for a lot more than minis. For me it’s so I don’t accidental sell my second set of weapons. It’s a very good thing to have anyway I’d actually be more annoyed if minis weren’t included in the deposit all collectibles. I mean this is what the bags are for. Why not use them?

I do wish they wouldn’t get put away when changing maps though. That’s something I can definitely get behind.

I don’t think the princess wand is just for female characters. I bought it for my male charr guardian. I think it’s awesome.

I thought the asura saying that was that other guy. Gruff or Grup or something like that.

It is so adorable! This will definitely be my second mini.

I’m having a blast too. I just love how festive everything is. I live in a part of the world where we almost never get snow so video games are the only place I can enjoy it. I love having snowball fights(even though I’m usually just playing with the npcs), building snowmen and just seeing the lights and the SNOW! I just love it. Lion’s Arch just feels so warm It’s just so awesome to enjoy Wintersday (Christmas) in the SNOW! The only other thing I could want would be carolers!

I love the toy minis. They are so cute. I don’t buy RNG boxes anymore but I’m ok with not getting all of them. I’m used to that, haha! I’m so glad that there are two sets of weapon skins to buy(love my toy sword!). It’s just awesome.

The music is so great. Thanks for the bell choir game. So much fun. I spend hours there. All in all I love Wintersday. I really needed this. Thanks ArenaNet.

There’s no torch in the gemshop or in game exchange

It’s disappointing but it’s not even very good loot really. All I’ve ever gotten is a couple greens :/ Don’t feel too bad!

Now that’s something to think about. Yesterday after spray painting a skritt he said something like, “We were lied to”. Paraphrasing of course but what could it mean?

As far as I know it’s just so you can see a great view of the whole puzzle. I never found anything else up there.

Definitely. I’ve done this a bunch of times too. Doesn’t help when you’re still learning a part but it is good to know if you’re just going for the perfect score and already know your part. Keep hitting the notes!

At least it’s not a forced 5 man dungeon. We did get it done after we figured out doing the second tar machine first made it not reset. We couldn’t kill the tar fast enough for the first machine.

My brother and I are in the same boat. We were able to finish the dungeon but it’s tough. I’m worried the others will get too difficult for just the two of us though and we hate LFG too.

Why only one outfit I wonder. Seems like you’d be able to get a lot more people buying if there was more choice. A little something for everyone never hurt

I hated the waiting in the Halloween jp but I’m ashamed to say I was more annoyed with the Wintersday jp that kept interrupting my snowball fight…

I haven’t had any lag either. Same with the bell choir a tad but nothing to hinder my performance. I was pretty impressed actually.

I like it. It looks awesome on my Charr. Very festive and slightly pimping. I was hoping for an old fashioned Santa suit but this is pretty nice.
