thiefs dont make good tanks at least for the boss we were shown. evade tanking means you are forced to move around which lowers overall dps (not standing in dmg/combo fields/melees not hitting all their skills)
this against an enrage timer —> no evasion tanking

There is actualy a -combatlog Command line argument it was just never enabled
so because thiefs role can in some extend be done by engi, thief suddenly does less dps than necro? i fail to see the logic of some people
Thieves’s Headshots is useful for breaking defiance bar as boss doesn’t die after hp goes 0(at least for Vale guardian and its’ splits), you need to break the bar immediately to ‘officially’ kill it.)
Have you tried headshot lately? Get yourself tied up to one of those Chak Bracers and see how frustrating that little 0.25s daze is against their defiance bar.
The new Daredevil Utilities are far better at it, Fist Flurry has a 2s Stun on the second activation and Impact Strike has a 2s daze aswell as a launch.
I don’t know if anybody noticed yet but the Unshakable Buff is gone since the Breakbar is a thing. This makes getting 25 Vulnerability a non issue for Dungeons/Fractals and basically reduces the need for things like Sigil of Frailty or select able Traits that cause Vulnerability on crit.
To Test if this Buff still applies I quickly did some Thief Staff autochains against the Golem and against Sureshot Seamus on both i averaged 14 stacks Vulnerability Solo which further confirms that Unshakable is gone.
I swear people are just posting their favourite class at this point.
On the other hand, it means anet did a fair job of balancing classes in terms of aggro control, considering every single class has been mentioned.
ofc thats because every class can fill multiple roles some are just better at it than others depending on how much they loose doing it

hint:
look at this 2 skills heartseeker wich was the skill that made thief dps go to insane levels below 25% of bosses before HoT and now look at weakening charge noticing anything? on top of that you get 7% 10% 10% modifiers at the loss of a 1-15% modifier.

all 4 maps on 100% no reward for any of them with my main. i had to mapcomp VB on a other thief to get the reward for the Bo collection

1hour boosts only work if you have 0 AR a dev stated this on reddit
Not sure how you can survive that legit way, but anyways who cares…
you only get Agony when you get close to allies so it was kinda ok especialy since its the same for 91-100 and we got used to it

If they designed the System well, you get enough EXP for the Mastery by leveling your Fractals.
in pvp there is endgame statistics of damage/healing done/taken maybe they are planing something like that for raids
Maybe not. Alacrity could make Venomshare viable for a condi spec, as the cooldowns are the main thing making it a lame choice.
even with alacrity i think engi gets more out of it, and often venom charges got lost on seekers

this are amazing changes only thing that kinda needs a change is staff 4 as its not really worth using
also the Blue AoE that ports you should be better visible, it kinda gets lost in all the Mesmer wells and Engi effects

I hope you don’t need to hit lvl 100 fractal… I was looking at the maths. Looks like you’ll need all the normal plus 5 infusions (for 70 AR), AND 3 plus 25 infusions to total 145 AR needed for the minimum 1% health loss per tick @100
I hope we wont be able to just outgear agony and actualy have to avoid the boss attacks.
Asura ranger with technobabble can do 6 second daze and after druid comes out any ranger can do 6s AoE daze on 5 second cooldown.

Does that mean the entire new class mechanic is worth( )less in raids? I mean an entire class relying on dodges and it’s bad in HoT? Wow. I’m just waiting for PVE mobs which apply revealed. Makes thief much worse with 12k hp. Really curious which role thief will have in upcoming content.

you only need 1 cc for Archdiviner to get his stacks to 0 if you know how his selfstun works and this is mostly done by a warrior
Whenever I see Thiefs run d/p on Bosses i die a little inside.
Everything above double freeze (wich can be done without pistol offhand) is not worth it imho.
Thief will have its place if the Content demands a lot of spamable blasts (waterfields anyone?) aswell as fast skips/interactions and there is also some niche things that Thief is good at that weren’t needed so far.
i dont know if it has been mentioned yet (search function???) but daredevil cant dodge underwater
If they make Vampiric Aura and Spotter apply to 10 people, Ranger and Necro will have a almost guaranteed spot in Raids and even if not people can still play what they like :P
And now we have some “visionaries” who wants AIs to dodge away from AOE and such.

Some things i can think of
- Alphard has -100% condi reduction so you wont apply any conditions to him except when having condition duration of some sort
- Lupicus cleanses conditions on every phase switch and when someone is getting hit by his life drain aoe
- Hunter&Crusher does a condi transfer (thank god its only 1 stack/condi)
- The Crystalline Entities are immune to conditions
- Subject Alpha cleanses conditions regularly while using his skillset

Classes are generally not chosen for DPS but for utility but the ranking goes something like this
top tier : ele thief engi depending on length of the fight
med tier: guard warrior ranger
bottom tier: mesmer
I haven’t done any exact numbers on this so I cant 100% guarantee it to be right and depending on the scaling it can be different.
For just normal Dungeonruns most Groups still run 2x ele war guard thief as tihs groupcomp covers most offensive and defensive needs as well as out of combat mobility.
