Wings of light: Wings of resolve manifest even in its passive form, granting swiftness to you and teammates benefiting from your passive. When activating Wings of resolve this boon goes on 60 sec CD.

or something.. why swiftness? Well seeing revenants and Druids got it, I though, hey why not guardians.. we got wings!

First of all I love the details in this game.. And small gimmick!! Amazing scenery as well.
Back to topic

Well I do not like how dead the whole world is.. I mean many details and sych a great scenery, but sooo little interactions.. More like going to a gallery.
Let us us tables and chairs.. Maybe eat food on the table. Have npcs walk a bit more around (they do but more).
I would like to see more next gen in it with a world living on its own (RDR like I guess).

Lack of mount and dull minis. I do bot know why I feel the urge to have a mount.. But well just think it could be great. Dull minis.. Few animations if any, look to WoW for once they made something good. And no humanoid minis xD

No trinity.. Can’t believe that I actually miss being a healer xD but I do, not accepted the no trinity-aspect yet (I am a bit old school).

Armour restriction.. Never understood this one.. Maybe make affinity such as you recieved bonus stats for wearing your professions armour
Type but in fct could use every single piece (great for traits allowing more affinity and for cometic).

Lack of 1200 range on thieves.

Lack of mobility and weak spirit weapons on guardians

Lack of elemental focus on elementalist. Jack-of-all-elements-master of none, even with a grant master trait… Let us become specialists if that what we want to.

More torment for necroes out of DS.

Engineers visible back item all the time. Or legendary hobosack :b

Weapon bound to skills.. I kinda in a love hate relationship to this one.
Let all profs be able to weaponswap.

Make special items acc-bound those from older events.

I hate that you have to “discover” weapon skills.. Makes bo sense since you do not progress in it like TES.. And feel a bit the same with skill points.. the slots are lcl restricted any how.

Blah blah blah,… What is this with thieves having acces to protection?
By boon stealing? That requires the profession to have it on.. Well with warriors getting it that would give them more oppotunities…
But that is a strange arguement to use imho.. Why not just team up with a shout guardian? Boooom there you go.. You now got protection while hitting harder than the guardian, having better mobility and even more health… And he will even get rid of a lot of your conditions…

Team play dude… Team play not can you please lend some of the vitality and mobility to the guardian?

Sigh yet another post:/
Give us perma stealth and then QQ.
I think they kitten eles too much.. But not so long ago the QQ was on bunker eles:)
Why do you go fire and not earth att? It is more defensive if I am correct.. Or Air RL to escape.

Stealth: 3cd after a hit in stealth. Max 4 sec stealth if bot stacked or SR.
SR nerfed to insta break if not there for full duration.
Cannot stack stealth by falling.
Get aoe dmg or can be hit while in stealth.
Miss with C’n’D can be crucial for victories or failure.
Tend to have low health or/and armour when specced to high crits.

Eles got low health and the weakest tier of armour.. But aldo got a lot of survival abilities and traits you could go for Churning Earth pre-cast and lightning flash is like an aoe BS with bleed
I find the game okay balanced.. Ppl should remember to dodge or swift 180* turn:)

Would love some betrer animations for the others races though
Even more beastial for the charrs (aldo make unique armour for all the head gear plz!!)
Parkour/more gracefull for humans.
For sylvan I am thinking inspiration from the far east like tai-chi or qi-gong:)

Well you do realize that we do bot get new “cd” on weaponswap or got for attubements to dance around.. Or the ability to change toolkits when we put the first ones abilities on cd?

That it what kitten us. If we spam mindless HS, we wont be able to use initiative to like escape. Yes we got utility skills bit so does other professions:)

I honestly only find one problem here and that is HS-spam. Not that I die to it but more when I alting on my thief. Give it 1/2 sec CD, since way too often it spamming itseæf twice wasting initiative.
And speaking of HS it is very powerfull as an gapcloser

I think maybe we shouldn’t worry so much about change or nerfing thief, but maybe buffing some other professions:)
Like say Rangers.. Or warriors spvp-wise (NOT wvw or pve they are very powerfull in that aspect).
Giving back the old RL to elementalist with the bug fixed (1200 range) etc.

And focus on making professions able to fullfill every role good, not equally. Not forcing us into some kinda meta

But that’s just my five cents..

I know there have been several topics on this on.. Just the search function that is trolling me.. Could be nice with a merge. And btw your censoring thingy is bugged.. Hench the title.

Any how.. I kinda fancy conjured weapons, but I ink they new a few changes..
Maybe make em unlimited (except GS).
And bind more traits to em.. There are a few with fire and water what I recall. Though only the fire traits are mentioned on wiki. Thinking on soothing wave.

But point being making them stronger and even get lower CD on them. So now you can run lets say D/D and still have access to range through Frost bow… You can go melee with a staff build when changing to Lightning Hammer.
And if the keep the counters, make em for the pick up weapon instead of the elementalists.

Also some traits could give the summon spells a twist like maybe blast finisher like banners?

I don’t know… I just know that I love my elementalist and his look, but not so happy about the gamestyle.. Ele attunement dancing is not for everyone though a good idea

To learn the truth you must first accept that there is no truth.

But I like your math and stuff, but as ppl pointed out math cannot predict everything (though some scientist might disagree).
And though stronger on the paper it all depends on playstyle and how you react and adept.

I am a rubbish thief that is why I run s/d & sb harash build.. Just to steal boons and pull ppl with a magnet&scorpionwire combo i wvw.

But hats of for the great effort you did with explaining and so, but you must accept ppl opinion, even thought it goes against math and numbers. And the they might respect your view

I often use what little sparetime I got to roam the forums when I do not want to start my laptop.
So I came across some few interesting suggestions and just want to well kinda revive them:)

Fourth virtue and mobilty is to be honest not the guardians strongest side, though I think Necromancers and Mesmers are even worse:)

And of course we should not competen with thieves (lower the initiative on infiltrator arrow again) or elementalists (bring back the old CD on RideTheLightning).
Nor should we be able to flee from the zergs as well as warriors.. Or should we?

Virtue of patience:
We been told that patient is a virtue, not for guardians..
But if it was why not do it like this:
Gain X% speed every Zsecs for max of 25-30% movementspeed (yeah I like OverPowered).
This is a bit like the lightning trait and makes it fit for roaming long distance as it is a steady speed boost.

Activate to teleport 200-1200ft ahead of you. Depending on your current speed. So the longer you save it the longer you instant teleport.
If you activate it often you will lose consistant speed and long ohh kitten teleport.
On the other end the longer you wait to crivate it the longer the CD (has no number heres but max 100secs untraited).

If you trait into it you will recieve swiftness everytime it activates, this can furtjer be traites to a little group speed buff and be ground target (last one at lest a master trait). Maybe even a grandmaster adding fire dmg burn (1sec) and blast finisher or make it remove movement restrictions (again love Overpowered ideas;)).

That was the virtues with a bit mobility… But why not make sword 2 not requirering targets? And make Merciful intervention (the one that teleport to the most wounded friendly unit, 1200ft, and heal them) ground target?
And for heavens nd mine sake lower the CD

I am not saying it would make me a better guardian, but would make it easier for me to run away from the fights I would otherwise lose (most of them);)

Tl;dr:
We are tough but 1vX , X should always win so give us the freedom to chose our fights and when to stand our ground or retreat to live another day

Steath have been nerfed enough by bad players… As I suggested for wow-players when playing wow.. Reroll og adapt.. Yah it sux but that’s life
I see lot of ppl having probs with stealth and a lot not having.. Some ppl go against several ppl at once and some struggles with just 1v1.

It is sadly a L2P issue.. Not just your class but learn the other classes as well (professions w/e).

I find it sad that these forum just turned into a cry-forum.. I am a terrible player, and got close to no skills.. I change between thief, guardian, engineer and elementalist and just enjoy the game, and actually take down a few players

It is after all just a game… If some1 harazed you like that on your job, see that would be another thing, and I would ofc fire the kitten:b

Haha I love how some people rage against this idea. I say why not? Why are we aleays limited by the heavy, big weapon, light, caster etc

Though what I would like to see is that we do not directly get access to new weapon, not even scyth:)

But that they maybe change conjured weapons:
Lave axe? Why not just conjured Axe (change abilities per attunement)
Ice Bow? Conjured bow.. Etc etc
Yeah they would have to make 3 new set per weapon, but I think it would be worth it.

Then how do you share it? Might be in fire or in arcane?
A trait saying. “Allow you to conjure an extra version of the weapon with 25 charges and a skillset depending on the attunement you were in while conjuring it”

Stats should be in your main weapons, no bonus, except from the conjured greatsword.
Look well should change with th attunment:)

Yeah maybe just lower the cooldown a bit or something.. Seems like awefull little you get for those high CD.
Also a tweak to the hammer could be increasing Banish damage to huge number, or well just to be a damage dealing ability.. So when you are up against champions or the like you would sit and think " should I do Mighty Blow now for a combo-finisher og give huge amount of damage with Banish the it can be ready again" or well you get the point,, just a few more skills to play with outside pvp^^

Ahh I see just wanted to make the Zeal and rasiance trees more interesting for people.. I know you don’t have to run valor/ honour:b
I know every tree got it advantages, but more toughness, crit dmg, heal on buff, more health, faster 2h combo and might to the whole group on crit… It is just nice!

Yeah the weapons probably don’t need a big teak, and yeah hate that MI is soo bugged… Please make i ground target.. Maybe even leave a little water field where you teleport to:D that would make my day^^ super healing on demand with hammer + MI combo

1h/focus and GS is a great blind combo with 15points in precision:)
My mate ran it and timed the blinds very good:)
But dunno if it is more effective than having a blast-finisher on demand (I know focus got one, but 40sec and delay is not that overwhelming).

Only reason I got a gs atm is because I haven’t found a exotic 1h sword yet:) also like the whole pull together many mobs, blind → symbol → whirl combo^^

Tou I find it funny:) I kill the critters in-game, not real life.. And guess what my small cousins do the same .. In-game.. Not real life.. Very different.. Like seeing a man get hit by a car in a game/movie/w/e.. And real life.. Very different..
Kinda opposite here, watching blood, wounds or surgery in telly doesn’t make me sick, but I don’t like to watch it.. Real life it is fair game.

Well about the warding, yeah remove the fun gimmick about you being able to jump over it or dodge through it:/

I on the other hand do not share the same opinions as you:) I find that hammer really feels stiff to use, and with wrong tooltips, tsk tsk.

They might ignorer it, it is completely up to them, I seen company such as Blizzard being slow to react to other than QQ’s, but it is up to them what they decide and a totally different issue;)

Pure Heart Agies grants protection on removal.
Two-handed Mastery I would like to see it moved down to adept, though that might be too powerful.
Writs of persistence and Writs of the merciful merged.
Honorable Reach Improve the range of scepter and staff.
Battle Presence add Absolute Resolution’s passive effect, though not the condition removal.

Virtue
I feel like these last trait lines are gimmicks, tricks and such.. no mandatory really.
Minor Traits
Inspired Virtue change this to be implanted in virtues without it, these should instead create a combo field when activating your virtues:
Justice : Combo field fire 4sec, burning as well?
Resolve : Combo field water 4sec, regen?
Courage : Combo field light? We got sooo much light, Ethereal would have been cooler.. but not very guardian like.
Power of the Virtuous I feel like this is kinda weak, since it demands 25 skillpoints and only add 1% per boon, maybe 1,5 or 2%?

Major Traits
Retaliatory Subconscious gain retaliation for 4 secs and create a Shield of Absorption Whenever you are daze, stunned, knock down, knock back, feared. Remain CD, how to justify it, well I look on others professions trait, though you shouldn’t^^.
Improved spirit weapon duration removed, silly name.
The virtue of chance 25% chance on critical strikes to gain a random boon.
Absolute Resolution Change to Virtue of patience Removes up to three conditions. The passive effect gets stronger the longer you sit with conditions.

Well some might be op, other just nonsense:) But leave a comment, I can always edit.
Inspired Virtue
Virtues
People claim that they are not as useful as other special abilities and often it is better to sit on the passive effect. So the tweak is to add the effect from
Justice 25CD, not far from current CD when traited, grants 3 stack might to you plus 5 people upon activation for 6secs.
Resolve 40CD, Grants regeneration to all in the group, renew upon using a heal skill.
Courage 60CD, grants protection to all in the group.

Utilities
Healing
Healing Breeze There have been lots of suggestions here, like making it an aura, or being able to get swiftness and run around and heal people.
Shelter Works fine with the block traits.
Signet of Resolve Really good in my opinion, even untraited.
Utilities again
Merciful Intervention where to begin with this one, first the heal is weak, the teleport random, and in my experience it often bug. My idea would make it ground target/personal, so you could either target a friend to teleport to his location and heal or just to a random place (mobility escape).
Add break stun and reduce CD to 45secs.
Sanctuary too bad they nerfed the size, but lets reduce the CD to 90secs or less.
Signet of Mercy Ihate mot of these.

Elites
Feel like two tomes are overkill.. and with no dedicated healer, and a huge heal skill in courage, I think removing it would be okay. Add stability though. Nothing worse than be chained CC using an elite:)

Now that was the weapons, I tried to tweak it accordingly to my experience with warriors, engineers, thieves and elementalists. Now for our beloved traits, 0/5/30/30/5 anyone?

Zeal
-adds power and condition damage
minor traits
Zealot’s speed a few posts talked about the name and the utility, well change the name. Or better change it to Writ of Exaltation
Symbolic Exposure Feels good enough
Symbolic power increase the damage of symbols, though I would like to see it increase it a bit more.
Major traits
Revenge of the fallen Never liked traits that says you should be downed.. but no idea to what to replace it with.
Spirit weapon Masteryfaster recharge time and add 10% more damage, remove Wrathful spirit.
Eternal spirit becomes a grandmaster and add Improved spirit weapon duration
Zealous blade include Greatsword power
add master trait Hammer deals 10% more damage when you are under the effect of a boon.

Radiance
-adds Precision and condition damage, removed condition damage though it fits to burning add critical damage
Minor traits
Surprisingly good in my opinion.
Major traits
Searing firereduce Cd to 10-15sec
A fire inside Make it a Adept
Shimmering defense Remove add master Empowering might
Empowering might Remove 1sec internal CD.
Powerful blades Reduce CD on sword and spear with 20% as well.
Perfect inscription Remove (yeah I know it is good with healing signet) replaced with*Glacial heart*
Glacial heart Lower internal CD to 15secs. And the symbol linger for longer.

Valor
Do I really need to mingle with something soo good?
Well maybe a bit. First of all add boon duration instead of critical damage
Minor traits
Great tbh.
Major traits
Strength of the fallen Fuse it with revenge of the fallen
Strength in numbers makes it 200 toughness, or at least 100.
Mace of justice add lower CD by 15%.
Altruistic Healing Really want to add something about group healing here, just to make it group supportive like Amins talked about, though it would be OP.

First of all the purpose for this topic is to suggest some changes for guardians. I have looked around the forum and try to collect some of them.
It could be debated whether or not this belongs to the suggestion sub-forum, though I like to keep it profession-specific, and try to avoid too much trolling.

First of all I can say that I got a lvl 80 guardian, so I have played on it for awhile, I do not got the same experience as Brutaly, nor the knowledge as Amins or the dedication to builds like Harbringer.
But I think I got a few good points..
Feel free to discuss them, and please do explain your criticism. And feel free to ask, might not go too much into details to keep a long text a bit shorter.

Changes and the like

Weapon set
Two-handed
Hammer
info I find hammer to be a fine weapon all in all, with both group support and high dmg, and the best is a low CD blast-finisher on demand. Still it could us a bit love.
Auto-attack Wiki set it to two times ½second cast plus 1,25 on the last one which would be 2,25 seconds, but in fact it is more like 3,7 seconds. I like this to be on par with Greatsword, I know it is a powerful combo to lay down a symbol with only 3,7 second CD, but it does not feel so fluid in combat as Greatsword .
Lower this to the listed seconds.
Mighty Blow If anything remove the leap, else fine as it is.
Zealot’s Embrace I love having a 1200 ranged attack that immobilize in a line, a possible tweak would be 600-900 range and a cone.
Banish Fair CD for a good knockdown, nothing to add
Ring of Warding Did you see the staff change? Give this the same change or make it instant to justify the CD. ( after watching Amins vid, I might rethink this suggestion)

Greatsword
Honestly, even after the nerf I have nothing to add.. great aoe, with a buff on auto, retaliation on demand, leap finisher and a aoe ranged pull.

Staff
Staff did get better after the change to warding.
Flash of light Add combo finisher: blast to this again to justify the CD.
Symbol of swiftness Could add cripple for more utility without traits

One-handed
Mace
Very inexperienced here, feel free to come with input, so far as I know it is great for survivalbility.

Scepter
Our best range weapon, but frankly this could use a tweak or two.
Auto Attack Slow orbs can be a problem, but great in close range, this could be balanced with a smite animation and let a bolt of lightning strike the foe within its range.
Smite Great damage, but make it a symbol, lower the attacks to 8 instead of 15, and make it like other aoes.

Sword
Great for single target damage, fast and in most cases reliable.
Auto attack The last strike should not be able to be reflected.
Flashing Blade would like a range of 900, and being able to use it without a target.
Zealot’s defense Remove the root and the fact that your missiles can be reflected.

Off-hand
Focus
Really very good in my honest opinion, adds finisher till your main-hand though on a high CD, but still.

Shield
What no block?
Shield of judgment Block the next incoming attacks for3 seconds and add protection to 5 people within 600 range.
Shield of Absorption Lower CD to 30sec to reflect the similarity of Refraction

Torch
More burning!
Zealot’s Flame now activates inner fire
Zealot’s Fire act as a blast-finisher, stop me if this is too OP
Cleansing Flame Lower the damage (10x) 846, add burning 2s 125.

Yeah and love the animation with the staff-ability, though only #1 really use the staff.. Others are off-hand or main hand with glows:)

True true.. Love the idea with a blast finisher:) though hammer is a easy one^^ I tried to run a bit boon duration spec for perma swiftness and might with 4-6 sec down time..

Snapped a few of the animations with the xmas skin, I must say it is very cool the way the staff glow on #1, and how you sumon the other ability with a blue sphere glove on your off-hand:)
Only issue with staff is that it is leser dmg (due to being range) and that you can’t trait its #5 to reflect projectiles:D

and a side-note: kitten I love the details in this game:D heavy armour ftw:D

Go guardian and you are forced to fight anyhow.. Staff symbol? Woaw and if any enemy (lucky is doesn’t last so long) should step on it you are in combat.
You could go perma swiftness but that would just make you a running tincan-__-’.

Hammer is boss for group fight with AH:) and protection..
I tried out staff vs GS, and though 12stack+ might (empowering might) is awesome and aoe.. Staff lack the dmg output and speed of the GS… Which is ashame:D.. I feel like staff is a mobile version of hammer:)

Yeah they really should focus on rangers and necros bugs tbh.. but they also need to give new content to make the rest of the population of gamers happy, so a tough call I guess.
But I don’t play rangers due to the pet-system. Find it nearly as dull as the the warriors adrenalin system.

Well 20-30 sec CD would be fair.. Keep the range and what so ever.. And a theif and guardian would still be able to catch up, but they have to use abilities with longer Cd (utilities):)

Hmm symbol of wrath gets larger.. But we will not visual see the different since it didn’t cover all of the visual? Still think symbols are toooo small:b I mean you can just fit two persons in there at max.. Be they azuras xD

Yeah used it to move faster.. But now you can use it as escape aswell.. I don’t think it will be much more usefull.. But at least you can move away from interuption.. An instant cast would be great though^^ the staff 2 healing orb will be interesting to watch in a zerg.

And improved empowered is just all in all awesome:)
