I will add that overload breaksstun, and with stability on overloads, water can heal quit nice Also you gain +7% more dmg reduction using tempest (not 10 like Earth).
I found running troopers/soldiers runes with shut i also a good combo.

I most say I usually run dagger, since it feels more fluid than scepter. And ofc staff in zergs.

But yeah mostly it comes down to skills. Some profession might be abit more forgiving, but I feel like it is kinda balanced. Yeah a few professions are hard to catch, but if they kitten up, they are dead.. and if you are fleeing, you ain’t killing or capping.

I kinda like the whole idea. Some of the abilities might be abit too bloated.
Also one of the minior talents should give 25% to you, when you activate BB this is also applied to allies.
Movement imparing condition is reduced on you and your allies by 25%.

Was considering 33% just like druids.. but well think Anet would easier go with 25… I have no dea why they still refuse to give us this..

Also CD reducing traits.. hate them.. remove them, and lower all skill. It would add to the flow of combat, and you could put something more interesting instead..

Like crit hits on targets under 50% reset the CD, 30 iCD. or aomething like that.. I mean like gravedigger, just not as powerfull.

Or why should thieves and necros be the only one with boonstealing?
Remove torment from spear 5 (alrdy got away to stack it with AA), and make it tranfere 2 boons from the enemy to your allies.

Or at least 1200 range… feel like our range weapons come to short against other players..
Yeah we can spam unload.. But believe me, in pvp you get punished by that, with the share amount of projectile reflextion.. So have no idea why we cannot have a 1200+ option.. I mean even our steal reach further thn our arrows and bullets..

A range weapon? 1200-1500.. make it pistol if you want.. just something to feel usefull at seige when you cannot have a cata.
Give us a trait that change steal:
Steal not teleport the enemy to your position ( 1200, unblockable, req. a target maybe..)

Reduce Steal CD to 25 or less, feel like we got the highest CD on our prof skill compared to the usefulness. Or at least give it some pasisve? As long as you do not have your steal on CD you and your allies gain 5% dmg.
Lower Mug dmg.

Give PI a CD on 3-5 sec, to avoid interuption spam. But let it affect up to 3 target.

Change scorpion wire:
Throw three wires, which applies 3 stacks of bleed 10 sec, and pull up to three enemies infront of you.
Make it more like the guardians pull.

Increase range of Thrill of Crime and Bountifull thief to at least 900. Make boutifull thief steal up to 5 stacks.
Increase Buff time on Thrill of Crime.

Reduce the AA of Staff, maybe increase on dust strike.
Lower dmg on vault, but make it interrupt on impact, max 3 targets 4cd, even if no targets are hit (only on the interruption). This is to play more with the synagy between the PI talent. Also trying to read your enemies more, than just spam an attack.

Make Pain Response remove all conditions.

Shadow embrace and Cloaked shadow change place. Shadow Embrace now remove all condition upon stealth, and all kind of condition. OP? with everything revealling and keeping us for stealthing? Narh Give those who want to play around with stealth a decent change to re engange the current condi meta.

Preassure strike is now a teamwide buff, consider a iCD then. But this should help in both pve and pve. range 1200. And make it a visible choice over bountiful thief, if you want to support the group.

Yeah we got lot of active defence and dodge, but you know what? So does other professions.

So my last crazy suggestion, move up from the low health pool, to medium.. heck why not high.
At least let us sit with Mesmers, revenants, ranger and engineers.

As an ele, with lowest health and armour, I still feel more resilient than my thief, due to so much healing, active defence etc.

I know I am a low skilled player, but these suggestion would just make me want to play my thief more.
I feel really useless in a team.

I play abit of nearly every class, and consider myself a bad player.
And though people find DH good (like em mostly because of the aestethic) I find my elementalist to be way better.
I always wanted to be good, or try Necros, love the health and minions (main ele, guard and thief so no heath here).

And though I read that people dislike Death shroud, I kinda liked to discourage my enemies, by shifting between it to regain health.

But I just nee dto stay away from the dorums, I get to influenced by the negative posts xD

That said, I love seeing other ppl build etc.

I think I gave up support guard, due to that I feel elementalist are better.
But that celestial stuff looks rather okay.. always thought it was waste.. jack-of-no-trades, master of none, kinda stats.. but it seems rather ok.. would try to bump the power up to 2k if possible though. Not bad.

In my opinion they should just decide between giving them health and no timer.. or Timer and no health.

I like the concept, adding a little more dps, but even more utility Just make them like Revs facets.. okay when on “standby” better when active.

I mean they could even add it as a new Elite.. Having F1-4 representing a weapon.. When passive the grant a few benefits, Shield will block once every X, Sword will burn, Bow will heal and Hammer stun or whatever.
When you activate it you get the effect instant, and add a little buff. But your weapons will break untill the CD is reset.. Not the mot imaginative idea for Elite.. but hey then they could reuse stuff :v

Hey
I have mained a guardian for a long time (thx god for travellers rune).
But recently I changed to shout elementalist, and love how you can stay alive for like forever.

I was thinking if there is a build for guardians who is like this.. either healing alot with great substain, or dmg+substain. I tried revenant, but the numbers looks better on paper than practice.
And I remember the old medi and shout builds, but think with new Elite specs, and nerfs here and ther meta might have changed.

Anyone got some experience on the field?

How does a ventari rev do compared to a shout elementalist?
I have played alot of succesfull games as a shout elementalist, which can heal allies pretty well and keep up, even when focused.
Then I thought, could Ventari not do the same, with less effort (not having to juggle through 4 stance, auras etc., even though it is the fun part aswell) with both more armour and health (tier 3 / 2 vs tier 1).
Plus alot of condi cleanse without burning shouts.

So before jumping in and fiddling with it, I want to hear your experience.
I’ve seen a vid, and actually considering taking Hammer instead of sword/shield.
Still using staff, but trying to be a backline healer (as ele you are in the fray:/).

I just wished that it could be viable to go Centaur and Dwarf.. or the like.. Feels like you need Herald and Assassin, unless you want to kitten yourself…

I love the class though, it just, imo, feels very limited to what you can pick.

To be completely honest? No.
It has breath some life in gw2 for me. But in the end it is all a big grind. I want to enjoy the graphic and settings, but then I feel I miss out on something.
I would love a more immersive world, more NPC’s walking around and talk about new asura inventions and more.
It is still a great game all in all, but HoT is not worth the money they ask, especially not with the gem-shop and how they just spit new weapon skin out on a weekly basis, while not tending to balance, bugs etc.

It is what it is, and though I would like a world more like Black Desert, with housing like FF and combat like Tera, is it still a good game. So wait til HoT comes on sale.

Woaw alot of text. DH is fun to play, and in pvp okay. Not op, but kitten it feels good to instakill HS-spam thieves… Traps are, as already pointed out, easy to counter.
Play it with meditation and you got great mobility.
I like it, I think it is average overall. If you want something strong, revenant is the choice though, just got boring after awhile.

Wasn’t so much as a solution, just adressing the idea of increasing mighty blow to 10sec. Yeah longer cd means more carefull rotations and less forgiving when you kitten up, but I think that a general lower CD on hammer would be a nice start.
But as with the shield change it does not make it more useful og less clumsy.
That said please keep the heavy feeling to it.

Why not just lower the CD on every hammee skill? I mean Might blow might hit 4 CD with Trueshot on 4 and CoR on 2, both 1200 range, I see no problem in having it on 4 sec cd, even as a blast finisher.

I claimed in a issue didn’t bothered me. And well I doesn’t since I do not use Hammer. Yeah it was fun to start with but feels useless.

I still cannot see why our AA is limited to two, even three would be acceptable. And too much standing still when running bow. Just reduce the dmg on Trueshot and make us able to move while aiming.
And the speed, several posts about this already.
The facets on revenant feels like a more powerful virtue concept.. Might just be me though.

I know it is bad to compare professions, especially when this is a team-game.
But i just cannot stop thinking that my guardian lack someting compared to my revenant.
Sure he can get more active defence, and traps are fun to play around with in Spvp.. Just still think their hammer is a more powerful version of our. I mean smoke field, two blast finisher (though one of them is kinda useless), evade, huge dmg without the need of channeling and slow but better AA when it comes to group of mobs.

And the ever going topic about speed.. Mesmer got their speed in their elite spec, rangers and thieves got perma swiftness, so was hoping that we would be granted abit of speed.. even 25% would be nice.. have suggested linking it to f2.

I do like bow, I do like guardians, just feel like revenants pushing us away in term of effeciency / laziness.. I guess I could always go burn-guardian.. what do you guys think?

Sword tooltips says it is faster, but doesn’t seem so. Also in away sword three is better cause Staff three is multiple hits = risk of not crit on every hits.

Don’t see why daggers should have more poison.. rather bleed tbh.
I like the pistol change, though adding range would be nice, or a unblockable component like revenant.

HS spam is worse.. and Vault deals so much dmg, but AA aswell and vulnability. Cannot decide between sword or staff though.. on paper sword AA deals more dmg, but on golems staff is better (vul stack).

So you say thief was never high risk high reward because they were dead instantly and then call the thief complaints on this forum (with the very same topic since June/HoT (depending on the build)) a “L2P issue” – well ok then.

Nope, I say most of the complains is a L2P issue, but that I feel that most thieves complains got some truth in them, rather than just crying.. Was I not clear enough? I might not have been clear enough cause I got lost in my long text.
Or maybe I misunderstand what you are saying.

I got a Thief, Necromancer, Guardian and Revenant.

The thief was long time my favorite due to the mobility and freedom that the initiative system brings.
But never felt like they were “the high reward, high risk”-kinda profession. They are able to burst out high dmg in short time, but very easily shut down, though stealth is a powerful mechanism in this game.

Necromancer are my least favorite.. I like shroud and GS, and the high healthpool makes it easier to survive.. Though they feel kinda stiff.

Guardian was my first toon. And I love the group utility, the heavy armour and weapon skill. Though sometimes miss the lack of CD and mobility from thieves.. without doubt the slowest profession.
DH is funny, I love the enhanced virtues, eventhough they are not better than the originals in term of utility. The traps are cool to play around with, and funny to kill unskilled HS thieves with. Though not as OP as people claim, it is a L2P issue.

Revenant is the new kid in the school.. This is my favorite because it has everything. Fair mobility (no teleport though or dash beside staff), good survivability, good team utility and great dmg. The dmg might need to be downscaled a bit, but as the new kid it also got tons of bugs. So before they balance it they really need to fix the bugs.

Most of the complains I see on these forums, is L2P issues.. Like in fact I find mesmers to be OP, just got a very high skillcelling, that is why I never plays them, cause I am average at best… Mesmers are like the thievs counterpart for casters imo.
But I will agree to the thieves on this forums, they lack of something special. With the elite specializations everythings is so strong.. But thief still lack something.. I cannot put my finger on what, but as a starter 1200 range weapon would be great.

also if it is a mesmer, he wil evade, guardian will block and thief dodge..

So getting hit by such spell might also show that you are not the most skilled player.. granted range vs range it is very good.. but rangers outrange it. And only when the trait trigger will it bdeal these sick number.. but guess ppl forgot all about DH and moved on to the next nerf-thing..

Um, no. This is an attack, not a utility skill. No weapon attack has an energy cost greater than 15.

That said, I have been hit just as hard by fellow full Zerker classes since release. You are complete glass cannon and easily countered. This is a L2P issue. Being full Zerker has a built in counter.

They gain initiative at a base rate of 1 per second and have traits that generate it while in stealth, when you evade, stealing, swapping weapons, ect. Their utilities do not diminish their initiative pool at all.

Revenant has NOTHING that grants bonus energy and utilities that diminish or completely remove our ability to regain it at all. Your suggestion would be the worst thing that could happen to the class as we would never be able to use our utilities and elites just to be able to power our weapon attacks.

Your incorrect about initiative/energy.

You get 12 to 15 initiative automatically as a thief. Big attacks are 4 initiative, so you could use 4 of them before running out and takes 4 seconds to regain.

You want a high energy cost on weapon attacks. 25 energy cost on a big attack would mean we could use it 4 times and would take 5 seconds to regain.

Seems similar, but it is NOT. Thief regains initiative from stealth, steal, evade, weapon swap, signet, ect based on spec/build. Revenant doesn’t regain energy by any means other than time and swapping of a legend every 10 seconds.

Thief has no initiative cost on any heal, utility, or elite which they can use freely while waiting on initiative. Revenant is completely shut down from doing anything while waiting on energy. No weapon attacks outside of AA, no utilities, no elite, and NO HEAL.

Thief can have a stun break in each of their utility slots if they wanted and can be used any time regardless of their initiative at the time. Revenant without energy can’t and the cooldown doesn’t matter when it takes 30 energy to use which is a built in 5 second cooldown doing nothing else but waiting on the energy to do so.

Again, your idea would be horrible as the Revenant would have to choose between doing their weapon attacks -or- heal -or- use a utility -or- use an elite. It would be the most restrictive class in the entire game.

I think we may never see eye to eye on this issue.

DH gonna be nerfed.. I consider running alot spvp with dh before the nerf.. Well anyhow still a teameffort.

I most agree though, WvW as a revenant is kinda dull.. I mean I cannot count the times where I encounter a zerg and just get down, just to see that the whole enemy zerg is downed aswell… It is those moment where you, and the other revs in your zerg, press “2” (CoR) just as the opponents revenants press “2” (CoR). And then it end up being a downed battle to rally first… I mean most of my friends run with traits benefitting downed state, just for this.
So WvW is clearly "Who press “2” first"-battle.

I mst say I specced DH to win spvp.. they are extremly powerful at controlling. Though these players did dodge roll and used pets to destroy my traps… the traps are far from the best though.. Truth shot! That is a beast together with AA. You hit like a trunk. So while CoR might be king of WvW Truth shot is it in spvp.

I do think most of it is a l2p issue, but truth shot might need a tweak or two

And when that happen, you might have missed you chance to get a big hit in.. and he might be standing in melee range taking nearly no dmg.
also if it is a mesmer, he wil evade, guardian will block and thief dodge..

So getting hit by such spell might also show that you are not the most skilled player.. granted range vs range it is very good.. but rangers outrange it. And only when the trait trigger will it bdeal these sick number.. but guess ppl forgot all about DH and moved on to the next nerf-thing..

that said 5 energy is way too low.. make it 25-35.
that said I would like to see removal of CD and increased upkeep through traits.

Um, no. This is an attack, not a utility skill. No weapon attack has an energy cost greater than 15.

That said, I have been hit just as hard by fellow full Zerker classes since release. You are complete glass cannon and easily countered. This is a L2P issue. Being full Zerker has a built in counter.

You are missing the point here. Nothing to do whether it is utility or not. As Stated through out many post, I want to see removal of CD and major increase in energy cost.. alot like thief, where you decide if you want to spam an attack three time or maybe save some for evade or the like.
