In queen’s gauntlet players were making 100g+ a day EASY. Now that new sales are up in gem store, they are USING that gold to convert to gems, therefore causing the xchange rate to rise. It is basic economics. The more gold that enters the market, the less it is worth. How do people not understand this?
Holy god average players were making 100g daily?!?! Your server crashed all the other then!!! IT is Queens Gauntlets FAULT!!!
Sarcasm is the refuge of a shallow mind, if you have a counterargument, please expose it instead of hiding behind a veil of sarcasm.
I’d like ANet to consider allowing players to get transmutation crystals somehow without involving gems.
You can get some as zone completion rewards.
RNG is always supposed to not be a way of obtaining.
Technically speaking I could obtain 20 precursors in a row and solve my gold problems for a year, but that’s not how it works.
you can still get it randomly from the bags of alliance supplies.
9999 is simply the limit per transaction. Just do it twice.
source: bought gems for 400g (200g per transaction is max)
edit: there could of course be an actual time limit for gem->gold for obvious reasons but you didn’t say you tried multiple transactions.
yes I managed to exchange all of it for gold (one transaction of 8000 and one of 4000, also today was the highest point historically of gold:gem exchange rate, at 6.83 gold per 100 gems), I’m afraid because Anet has a history of ban trigger happy and to punish instead of prevent. And me doing such a big transaction is such a short timeframe would be grounds for considering my behavior “suspicious”.

After spending few hours in the beta of new MMO last night, I switched to GW2 and play until 4 AM. I found out, it is the only MMO that I find fun, even though, rewards for certains things suck.
what game was it?
I was unable to play FFXIV: ARR due to GW2
A single Fractal level (not map, full level) can get you up to 10-11 shards pretty easily. Not really a waste if the so-called PvDoor bores you to tears. I know I don’t like Dredge a whole lot… but I’d still rather do Fractals than DEs or WvW trains for karma.
I don’t care much about ascended fractals gear, how long does it take to complete 1 full fractal in average?
First off, the website I was buying the gem cards from had to ask me to attend an international call by a human operator to ensure I wasn’t buying gem cards in bulk to resell them or to do any other kind of activities other than buying for my own benefit. I had to provide real name and even ID for them to agree to send me the gem cards. After a few days the gem cards arrived.
Now I redeemed all codes on GW2 but at the time of exchanging for gold, the limit was set to 9999 gems (I was attempting to exchange 12000 gems)
I don’t know if Anet, with so many anti farming measures and economy protectionism measures, will take any action and consider my behavior to be “suspicious”, I fully swear that I’m using these gems to buy stuff I like, not to try and cheat the system or anything.
So if a community representative, or someone with similar experiences could share some insight, I would be most grateful.
well, that’s what you get for gambling.
those people who have 8 legendaries and full ascended are probably 0.1% or even 1% of the entire population of the game. You only hear about them because they’re the most interesting to listen to, but the fact is, that over 95% of people are merely average players like you and me, who will gamble 6000g on the toilet to get no precursors, who will open 5000 bag of alliance supplies to never see anything beyond a rare, and who will spend 4 months grinding for a legendary when the guy next to him gets his legendary in 2 weeks, etc…
don’t fret, just because you’re not part of the 1% doesn’t mean you’re not good. I would love nothing more than to be part of that 1% that has so much prestige, but at one point you consider whether investing so much in a game is worth it or not.
I actually understand this, but as far as I know there’s no other way to obtain the skin without buying keys/farming them. And if we think logically. The probability of getting a scrap is like 3%.
You can convert 2k gems to 117 Gold, which is enough to buy 2 skins, I already checked but went against it because once you do that you get addicted to it. Prime example is RP for LoL, I swear I have brought over $1,700 worth of Riot Points.
The issue is limited skins like this that require luck to actually obtain, sure it makes them rarer but it’s also a pain to those that don’t play daily or have any kind of luck at all.
gambling is a lot more addicting, blowing 2000 gems in keys in hopes of getting a single ticket is much worse than just straight up buying it.
I know some people are shopaholics, but shopaholicism is nothing compared to people having gambling problems and blowing all their paycheck in a casino every month.
well, that’s what you get for gambling.

I’m on my quest for my first legendary, and noticed I could trade in fractal relics for obsidian shards at a 15:1 rate. I was wondering if people usually ran the daily fractal to get 1 to 2 obsidian shards quickly, because while I know I can farm karma at champ trains, I still haven’t gotten into it very much.
There will be no patch at march 18th
This doesn’t answer my questions.Maybe I was unclear, how many patches are between season 1 and season 2?
Anet has not announced anything, thus we suppose there will be no more updates to the game and that the current version of the game is “Final”
There will be no patch at march 18th
the content that actually challenges you and puts your skill into test is not very rewarding (PvP, fractals, etc…) yet the mindless content designed only to keep you playing the game endlessly like a drone is the most rewarding (dungeons, LS)
If you want to invest time in something, get a Bachelor’s Degree. Playing video games is wasting time, not investing it. If they shut down the servers tomorrow, your entire “investment” in the game is gone. If this is a concern for you, the only thing you can do about it is be more careful where you invest your resources.
under this assumption why are you not working to solve world hunger? working as say, a doctor in a western world is wasting your time when there are so many african children dying from diseases hourly.
Exactly, now get to it.
except western people also need doctors, just because it’s a western country, doesn’t mean it’s exempt of problems and doesn’t mean it should be entirely disregarded.
because they want you to trade through TP to sink gold
I guess it’s to avoid vertical progression? if you could use 6 of the same rune, there would be a lot of specialized builds but the time it would take to get 6 of the same rune would be too much if you just so happen to get bored of your build and want to switch to another.
500 globs of ectoplasm, 200 skill points, 300 charged lodestones and 500 piles of crystalline dust to craft, requires tailoring, leatherworking and armorsmith 500 and also of course your price of 2000 gems for the blueprint that has to be combined with a limited time item that drops from 0.1% of moas worldwide during a period of 1 week and you need 250 of these items.
Sounds fair to me.
You forgot, that after it drops it is souldbound to 1 of your characters (if you have lets say 10 chars so theres the chance that it is soulbound to one of them) and after it drops you have only 5 minutes to get it with the specific character.
And lets not forget, that this item takes 70 inventory slots for no reason! Now it sound fair for me.
hey hey let’s not be unfair here, when you equip this item you start shooting rainbows and unicorns all over the place, your character gets dyed in a purple/green/pink aura fully saturated that also shoots rainbows and unicorns, etc…
Also your footsteps spawn a quaggan that starts screaming for 4 seconds for every footstep.

You can always go play Scarlet Blade.
Why? Scarlet Blade doesn’t have the same gameplay mechanics and system as GW2. Now if Scarlet Blade was basically the same as GW2 I would recommend it for anyone who wants eye candy and huge breasts.
Seven Star Stalker.1740 assumed you only played these games for the looks of the characters, I’m flabbergasted I need to explain to you the bullying tactics employed by people on these forums to silence any kind of discussion when it’s crystal clear.
I don’t mind discussion? x:
I didn’t say stop talking.
you’re not contributing to it with 1 liners and non arguments, that’s why I supposed you just don’t want discussion.

I don’t know why you assume it won’t take you 6 months to a year to grind the mats needed to craft a precursor. It isn’t like it’s going to take 20 gold in mats. I would just start farming gold now if I were you. You are going to need lots of it one way or another.
because then nobody would craft them unless they were set to be soulbound on acquiring.
no you shouldn’t be banned for kicking, you, as a party leader, have been confered the authority to waste people’s time if you see fit, because any other alternative is too bad to even think of.
IT BEGINS
it never fails, every day there is downtime, it becomes unplayable and there seems to be nobody working on it, it just fixes itself.
Spain. ISP: ONO
Must be a very offensive name if you’re still worried about it a week later…
there are laws protecting people getting offended on the internet, so yes, I’d say it is completely justified for him to be offended at an inappropriate name 1 week after seeing it, and that authorities should take action against it.
Any good company knows that shoutouts and thank you threads are relatively useless, if you really want to support Anet, buy some gems or introduce the game to a few friends so that they buy it as well.
be sure to attempt to doxx the user with such username, and to report him to the authorities if possible, these kind of crimes should not be taken lightly.
as a SoS ritualist I think the skill system in gw2 has more depth than 70% of the regular skills I use on gw1
does it make any difference if they’re transmutation items as if they are actual armors? TSs are bought with gems and anet has the right to put something for sale om their store, although you gain 3 free stones each time you complete an area.
Smigl it’s cute that you want flame legion armor set and you want it now, but wait until christmas and ask santa claus or man the kitten up and learn that you don’t need it to enjoy the game and that if you really wanted it you must run the exact same dungeon 100 times or buy it from another player or use one of the multiple tedious ways to obtain it.
Halo: same story, the cosmetic grind is not necessary for you to enjoy the game.
“You seem to have an issue with the entire game” exactly what I’ve felt reading the original post: he might just as well take a break from the game for the meantime
I’ve long since accepted the PvE content ought to be a cakewalk, but you haven’t provided arguments as to why explorable or even story dungeons are not challenging enough for you, and I don’t understand: the wiping and the interesting mechanics happen in a dungeon boss fight.
There is an area in WvW called the eternal battlegrounds, and it describes the wvw pretty well: it’s an eternal battle. You say it’s a wall breaking simulator, I say you haven’t dedicated enough time and money onto WvW, true, there are no tangible rewards for playing this game mode, but it’s about the journey, not the destination. You seem to require a reward for even playing, I say the thrill of the battle is enough for me, and everything else is a subproduct.
Hve you tried sPvP? I’m assuming you haven’t, how about you try that before you set a veredict on the game?
you read that guild purchases are world specific and I confirm that for you, sadly
you read correctly and I confirm it for you…
So many assumptions in this thread. With how much they’ve been enforcing this censoring theres just no way they’d go overboard sooner or later amirite? (we’re past the point of overboard when it’s a ban for language or conduct right off the bat)
overboard is all based on opinion, and the only opinion that matters is anet’s opinion on how much is overboard, by defacto, or the opinion of the vast majority of the userbase, which is unknwon atm.
My friend is a bird lover and that being said he used that term “kitten” to help describe the character hes playing to which is a thief.
I am assuming you don’t mean the feathered variety here
….. lets not play stupid here, its obvious why the name w
as banned, he knows it, you know it and anyone who else whos over the age of 15 can work it out. Perhaps contacting customer support and requesting a character name change can get him back playing the “game he loves”.
ohh I get it now: flightless bird….
whelp, op is a troll
kittens everwhere, but has anybody guessed the actual word “his friend” used?
it’s like we’re all a bunch of children and anet is our big mama protecting us from the evil evil swear words
you’re right, if we weren’t all a bunch of kids we wouldn’t be using obscene words for character names. But since not only there are immature people who laugh at fallic member jokes who still think it’s funny to have these jokes for name, but also kittyhurt easily offendable kids to obscene words, I think anet is doing the correct job herding us.
(edited by Pie Flavor.1647)
instead of saying gay you could’ve said “homosexual”….
I’ve read about core parking and according to many people, in normal circumstances windows 7 should never park cores, it’s only used to save power.
Tell him to kitten
well said
meta: at first I was like: a cat looking sword? must have
on topic: yes you can turn the appearance of a lvl 30 sword for your lvl 10 sword, as the stats of an item come with the required level to use it.
No as of now I cannot play dungeons with people of my guild on a different server, supposedly a guesting feature will enable you to do this without having to transfer servers, but the guesting feature is not yet available since as of this moment server transfers are 100% free.
Yeah, you can get the portal stone from Lion’s Arch (said here http://en.support.guildwars2.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9029 )
but I think he was just saying he couldn’t get anything from the NPC, because he had only put M.O.X. in the HoM. That means you probably don’t have enough points to get anything. If you go to http://hom.guildwars2.com/en/ and type in one of your Guild Wars (the first one, not Guild Wars 2) character names in the top, it’ll tell you what you have unlocked.
linking accounts already nets you 3 points, I know because I linked GW1 post release and I was able to get my heritage coat+pants+boots by just creating a character on GW1
that’s how it has been for a while in other games, and helps protect the economy of the game…
