Me: 350 mf – 1 rare, lvl 76.
Holy cow! That’s a lot of MF.
You should have played in Orr before they drastically reduced the enemy population. You run away from one mob, and aggro another. There were very few safe places.
It was great! I say – bring back the high density!
No thanks. It was pretty awful back then. Now, it’s only moderately awful.
Will this be fixed in tomorrow’s patch?
They would not release such a big feature without hyping it up for months and drumming up interest for it.
When it comes, if it comes, it will be a HUGE marketing event.
It is not really that much of an issue, now. When I hit the cap, which eventually I will if I keep playing, and there are still the achievement chests rewards that I want and it will take me longer, much longer, to get these rewards, then it will be an issue for me and anyone else like me.
Just because the cap is being set at one level now doesn’t mean that it won’t ever be changed or raised.
Worry about hitting the cap when you get there. Chances are it will be a moving target.
There is definitely reason why people pay 800g and upwards for the most in demand precursors and why gambling in the MF is viable if you have enough start-up gold
I’m going to go out on a limb and say that having 1000g to toss at the MF isn’t in the cards for the ‘average’ player.
Let’s see a thing, 2 days ago i saw in the case of Dawn a stock of 7 (that were the cheapest listings) disappear in 10 minutes, after that by curiosity i open the TP again and check, and, oh dear… Someone posted those 7 Dawns again for +250G (and those were now, the cheapest offer).
I don’t believe it’s a coincidence, i believe it’s the Precursor price being manipulated.
If the market supports those higher prices, then it was a good investment for him. There is a huge demand for Dawn right now.
Then again, if he has overpriced them for that +250 Gold, then he’ll probably end up needing to re-list them at a lower price before they sell. If the previous price was ‘just right’, then he’ll have to put them back at the market at that price before they’ll sell and will end up losing a bunch of money to the Trading Post fees.
The demand for these items is extremely high. If they were just looking for people to buy gems, they could just as easily increase the drop frequency. This would increase supply and lower the price…but more players would probably be willing to buy $50 in gems than $100, so it would even out.
So, I don’t think that’s the case. Instead, I think that they’re keeping a close limit on the number of Legendary Items in the game. That’s really it.
I don’t mind the rooting so much. What tends to kill me is the self-launching off of bridges and cliffs.
I have the same problem. It says, “This content has been temporarily disabled” when you attempt to use it.
The loot is based upon amount of damage done, if you are unable to put out enough damage to hit the minimum. Then find a group and hope that the group as a whole can hit the needed minimum. There is no reason to implement something where just because someone is able to ‘whale’ on a champ they get the same reward as someone who is actually doing the damage on the champ.
So, go berserker or go home? These is no place for support or healing in this game.
This is weird, just double waypoint cost if that’s the angle.
Nope. Not true at all.
If I want to go to a contestable waypoint, I’ll have to map in to the zone at a non-contestable one and then waypoint to the one I want from there.
So, that isn’t exactly twice the cost (since the second WP jump would be in-zone and therefore cheaper), but it is an increase in cost. Worse than that though, it means more time looking at loading screens and less time playing the game.
I’m willing to give it a try, but I’m not so sure about this megaserver business. It sounds like the cons may outweigh the pros, in the end.
Has there been any news on when we can free up our bank space and dump these things?
You will need to run the dungeons in story mode AFTER the update to permanently unlock the tracks.
That’s pretty disappointing.
Yea I loved getting the dyes drop for me an getting the thrill of wondering what i may get. I think this is a bit harsh on those folks who want to make bifrost and need 250unidentifed dyes to make the gift of colour. I just finished mine and thank god i did, cause collecting 250 dyes now is hard enuff without them dropping even less or not at all.
It’s being changed to 100 unidentified dyes.
Kindof dangerous to have nothing for 10days

Wouldn’t you think? Really nothing for us to do at the moment… I mean really you could of had that bar scene in-game during the battle anyways.
no counter looter events maybe?
I’m using this as an opportunity to get caught up on my map completion and on the Personal Story for all the alts I leveled in the LA events.
I think the 80’s serve the same purpose as the “SuperOrcs” that appeared in LOTRO just before the Mirkwood expansion went live. They were placed across the Anduin river east of Lothlorien and any player attempting to swim the river to explore the new land mass was in for a rude (and fatal) surprise.
That didn’t stop us from trying! Ah, those were the glory days of LotRO.
Yes, that appears to be the case. It could be an evil plot to force us into buying more gems to expand our bank slots.
I have an 80 Ranger, an 80 Warrior, and an 80 Guardian. Of those, I kick the most kitten with my Ranger. It’s a very different play style than the other two, but by all means it is just as viable and just as fun.
I’ve actually gotten more cores over the past two days than I have in the entire event leading up to it. It all comes down to the RNG.
I think they succeeded in making Kas a bit more interesting in this last instance. Jory still seems pretty one-dimensional to me. I don’t particularly dislike her. I just find her to be uninteresting.
Don’t pidgin hole yourself to social roles and stereotypes. Open up your mind to other ways of thinking.
Yeah, well, it’s not really so much about having a closed mind. Rather, it’s more about playing a character that you find appealing.
Personally, I like the idea of the Mesmer class very much, but the cutesy animations and butterflies have kept me from playing it for any length of time.
What would be spectacular would be to have a dye slot for animation colors. I could probably manage black or red butterflies.
Just saying, we got all this awesome build up to this finale, and this last update was among the smallest not only content wise but STORY WISE!
I thought the final story instance was pretty good.
That holo fight is horrible too, all that flashing, it’s lengthy(especiaaly if you don’t kill the 3 holos at the same time). It’s annoying, and better off spending the time farming for gold and buying one of those items from the TP ……………………………. which is not how I want to play a game. \=
The holo fight was terrifically epic and fun…the first time I beat it. I refuse to farm it now. It’s too long and the chance at getting anything worthwhile are far too low.
Farming Alliance Supply Bags is a better way to go. You’re much more likely to at least get some dragonite and rare/exotic drops from them for the same time investment as the holo.
Doesn’t mean the sword is uuuuseless. The #2 and #3 have saved my life a couple times.
Me too! I have such love for Sword #2. See a big red circle under you? #2 out and wait then #2 back in for more kitten kicking.
I got one the other night too. I thought that was a pretty crappy return on investment.
This game has no trinity and is all about killing things with action mechanics. What are you asking for, to be able to “heal the mobs to death”? the fight has a timer and fails if not completed within said timer, if it isn’t obvious that dps matters in some way I don’t know how to spell it out to you.
Then the mobs should not have a timer and need to be beat within that timer. It’s just a poor mechanic. The mob should take however long it takes to kill, and if they absolutely insist on the event ending after 15 minutes then you should succeed regardless of how much damage is done. One or the other, it shouldn’t be “you only get 15 minutes, and you fail if you don’t do enough DPS.”
If not for the timer, then they can’t schedule the next event to start on the next hour. This would lead to less attempts at the content, which would lead to another whole set of players upset and speaking out on the forums.
It seems like the best option would be to allow the lower-pop servers to combine in a special ‘overflow’ type instance so that there would be enough people online to complete it.
I was just thinking about this today. The latest artwork even features spear/shield:

I would love to see it in-game, either for Ranger or Warrior.
My view;
Scarlet was at the heart of the poor plotted living story. This living story took all of the company’s resources (who still care). Taken resources did not fix bugs I so want kitten .
If A makes B makes C, then A makes C.
Scarlet caused bugs to remain.
- Stomp -
That’s a pretty myopic view. For me, and I’m sure there are others, the LS has kept me engaged in the game for far longer than I likely would have been just farming dungeons or doing WvW.
So, more players engaged for longer = more people spending money on the game. More people spending money on the game = more money for squashing bugs.
Therefore, I can counter your reply with the notion that Scarlet has led to there being fewer bugs in the game.*
*Yes, I know. I’m just making a point…
It is care-bear easy already, especially for ranged classes.
I think we’d just need to petition for NCsoft to give the devs a bit more breathing room. This 2-week schedule simply isn’t enough. And I can imagine that the dev teams involved in LS creation are worked to the bone.
If I recall, they have three teams working on rotating schedules for the Living Story content. It’s not just one team cranking out an update every two weeks.
Event farming in LA seems to give a pretty decent return on bags/shards/found belongings.
Please don’t delete them!
You can hold on to your extra blade shards, as the team will be adding something later which will allow you to convert the shards to something of value. Dev will be announcing more on that later. Thanks!
Thank you, Danicia, that’s a very timely warning.
Unfortunately, I know many people who have already tossed theirs…
Yeah, it would have been more timely a week ago.
I opened six chests on Friday night and got three scraps. That seems pretty good.
All I’ve ever seen are things like Zhaittafy, Candy Corn, and Pristine Toxic spores. I have heard claims of people getting skins like the molten backpack or monocle, but those are unsubstantiated as far as I know.
In short, unless you’re extremely lucky, it’s probably not worth your time.
Exactly my point. It’s basically a crafting material. Why can’t I sell it via TP like other materials?
To be perfectly fair, these materials can be used to craft Ascended back pieces. You cannot sell other Ascended materials, such as Bloodstone Dust either.
See: Damask, Elonian Leather, and Assault Power Cores.
Yes, and see: Bloodstone Dust, Empyreal Fragments, and Dragonite Ore.
There are examples, both ways. I’m not arguing against making them tradeable. I’m sitting on around 1500 of them myself, even after crafting an Ascended and three Exotic back pieces. Rather, my point was that there is precedent to make crafting materials account bound.

18 chests are better than 6. 3 cores are better than 1.
If you don’t agree, uninstall game.
I call BS on that.
I have ended up with 0 chests after three knights as often as I have ended up with 18 chests. So, 1 guaranteed chest is better than a fair chance at getting 0. At least, it is in my book.
Whats worse is that even if all three are killed, players only get the loot for one. Its just barely better than no loot. I’d prefer it to go back to the way it was with loot from each one. How the kitten are we supposed to amass power cores now?
I was only getting loot from (roughly) 1 in 3 knight kills anyway, so this isn’t terribly different. At least this way it’s a guaranteed reward if you complete the event.
You sold this game as “play how you want”, and it seems you don’t get it’s meaning.
We zerging all 3 knights (in an unintended way) and killing them 1 by 1 was us sending you a message: this is playing how we want, not how you wanted us to play.
Speak for yourself, mate. I hate the super-zerg. I’ll gladly split up a bit and fight this way and I know that I’m not alone.
The reason that everyone previously rolled with the mega-zerg was that it was the only option. Roll with the crowd and get 18 Champ Boxes, or try to solo a Legendary Knight yourself. It wasn’t much of a choice.
I’ve been frustrated, at times, by the recent bugs too. However, I have to give ANet a pass as ‘Escape from Lion’s Arch’ was some of the most fun content I’ve played in an MMO (and that’s going back more than a decade).
Don’t bother right now. Anet has screwed up the knights drop table. Currently they don’t drop anything
I’ll admit that I haven’t had a core drop since Tuesday evening, but looking at the statistics on gw2tp (http://www.gw2tp.com/item/50058-synergetic-assault-knight-power-core), it does appear that a steady supply is being maintained on the TP. This would indicate that at least someone is getting them.
When they do drop, do they drop from their respective Knights, or is it random? For example, if I wanted to collect 10 Dynamic cores, should I make certain to farm the Dynamic knight? Or, can the Red knight drop a green core, etc?

I got an Ultimate bag after fighting Scarlet. I believe that it only held some crafting mats and a couple of greens. Still, they’re right.
There is a chance you might get an Ultimate bag and there is a chance that Ultimate bag might have something from an old event. I once got some Zhaitaffy from one.
The worst is probably the achievement that is best gotten by /afking the entire fight. That is, IF YOU DON’T RANDOMLY spawn right on top of a lazer-beam when entering the fight.
This part totally kittenes me off. Each time I’ve gone to Scarlet’s ship to fight her, there have been between 3-6 players just chilling in the back and not participating. When I have called them out on this, I’ve been told that they’re doing it for the achievements.
That’s total BS. The game should not be rewarding players for (1) doing nothing and (2) making battles harder for the rest of their team by not participating.
The title, mask, and other chest rewards aren’t tied into the knights and battle with Scarlet on her ship.
If you have a back item made from the blade scraps (you can pick up the necessary parts for under one gold), then you can use the Purple Portal and go directly to the story instance at the end where you get the said rewards.
Braham is a huge male norn.
Well, “huge” relatively speaking. He’s probably like 7’0, 300 pounds, he’s not much bigger than Logan.
Lol I was thinking in comparison to Majory. ‘huge’ ‘small’ etc are always sort of relative to whatever they are being compared to/against.
Braham is actually kind of small for a Norn.
So you’re taking information from a non-official twitter account as canon?
It wouldn’t be on the Internet if it wasn’t true.
