The bigger issue here, is builds that rely on crit, don’t work!
As it stands. Power + some defense is ONLY happy build here.
Condi’s – no.
Crit proc’s – no.
Heals/Support – almost, tho got to fight to do enough dam to get loot.
Power + Crit Dam Builds – almost, tho 2 of 3 stats pointless.
You forgot one thing, boon duration. Specifically on the turret operators. Altho that’s less to do with armor itself and more everything else (food/traits/runes/platinum doubloons). Giver’s armor is pretty bad.
You can still auto attack and AOE to hit the thief.
The exceptions of course being
-thieves smart enough to use mobility skills in any random direction
-weapon sets that are trashy when the game doesn’t have a target to actually aim at
Is it available for a limited time like the last 3 harvesting tools, or is it a permanently added item to the TP? Will I have time to farm gold for it, or is this another now-or-never item?
I bought the last 3 tools for 25g~, and now it is roughly 42g~. Inflation delays my speed and I want to be able to buy this for an alt. I can’t find anything that says it’s temporary but these things tend to be.

Making it limited time puts pressure on players like you to buy gold with real money before the item disappears.
Please tell me you aren’t buying gems, turning them into gold, trading that gold for gems, then buying the tools.
this was pretty annoying when i went to level a necro up
he got to 67 or so, but it only took 2 nights in wvw to get him to 80, so it really wasnt that bad
but it WAS annoying that i still spent all that money and STILL had to level MORE lol
Problem with comparing leather/cloth to wood/metal is that low tier wood/metal any1 can run out and harvest, low tier equipment for salvaging drops for low level characters.

Sorry, no. Anet sold out TO casuals. Everything is stupidly easy/trivial which is why it has to be done so many times. Instead of doing something difficult a few times you get to press 1 for 50 hours. This is how everybody gets things eventually but no “elitist” is favoured.
Still don’t like forceful greatsword when you have a party good at stacking might, but frequently regret not having it in pugs >.> bowbears should make empower reflect back to you instead of being wasted

As for the next patch it is supposed to be for the WvW Seasons event (starts Oct 4), plus this new dungeon path. And I think they are overhauling all of TA with this patch. So no this patch will not be small, but it will not be as large as other patches. I think they are relaxing on the content a bit for this update, as they want us in WvW for the event, as well as Halloween is just around the corner.

mobs are only immune if they cannot attack you.
if they are ranged mobs and you are above them and they can still attack you ranged, they will not be immune.
That is actually not completely true, and we are talking about invulnerable not immune, two different things.
If it can’t target YOU then you can’t hurt it. If it’s still hitting you that just means you’re within cleave/aoe of the person it is hitting.
For someone who doesn’t do dungeons, the next patch doesn’t exist.
For someone who’ll won’t be in the game for the next month, this patch will also not exist, since it will most likely removed in a month…
I would rather have them re-work all the existing dungeons to:
Fix exploits.
Fix skips.
Punish sellers.
Encourage non DPS stat-combination diversity.
Enhance rewards.
Give different skins, and Graphics to the different paths to make them more diverse.

Ya sure, if arrowcarts did a sustained… <500dmg/s to one target. You’re getting off one shot per dodge. Might as well just fall trait onto rams, aoe/cleave, and get back inside.
There actually is a slight issue with that graph, it kinda assumes crit chance and crit dmg can be attained in 5% increments that can be swapped. You might be in a spot where 5% more crit chance does more than 5% more crit dmg, but the piece of gear you’re deciding on might be 1% crit chance or 2% crit dmg (ie. boots/gloves/shoulders).
I agree, which is also why I think posts that are “anti-stealth” are ridiculous because they don’t realize how dependent thieves are on stealth. There are alternatives to condi clearing for thieves but they aren’t plentiful. Hopefully the rebalance in October (thread posted in general forums. As you can imagine the details are quite vague) will fix this issue.
It might help if you read past the first 5 words. People don’t want current thieves without stealth, they want the class design fixed.

League 1 will be made up of BG/SoR/JQ/TC/FA/DB/DR/AR/FC/GoM/ET/SF
League 2 will be the remaining servers
We felt the servers in league 1 were having difficulty getting matched together under the current system in place so the leagues will help increase the variability in matchings. That is all.
Racials are supposed to be weaker than class specific skills in an effort to keep a specific race from being meta. If you think it’s bad enough that people all run similar builds, imagine how plain the world would be if we were all the same race too.
I believe their issue is more with the fact that if an 80 goes to a lower level zone to try to farm linen you end up getting cloth from salvages because the gear still drops as lvl 80.
I heard from a guildmate that using it with 3 greatswords could produce a weapon that’s not a greatsword. Shaking my head at yet another instance of RNG stupidity, I decided it’s best not to use my stones in that fashion. Instead I use them to turn regular salvage kits into mystic forge kits.
News flash, mystic forge takes 4 things. Putting in 3 of one thing and 1 of anything else means you haven’t only put in 1 type.
1) Grenade engineer to stack might and vuln and output consistent DPS for when pugs insist on range stacking. Also heals, CCs, stealths, reflects, etc. God tier carry for bads in general.
2) Mesmers for portals. Run through half of Arah, portal rest of pugs through.
3) Rangers for fury. Most pugs don’t stack fury, so that area fury alone is a blanket 15% extra DPS or so.
4) Elementalists for raw DPS. With the terrible damage of most pugs, you’ll probably double or even triple the party’s total DPS as an ele.
5) Guardian for protection stacking and Aegis. Nice because pugs don’t dodge so damage negation is important.
6) Warrior for banners and shouts. Limited in usefulness because pugs don’t carry banners usually.
Sorry to say but you’re wrong in a few things there, Rangers is a NO as well as Engineers. No room for them in good dungeons.
Guardian is great for a few things, but if you run an altruistic guardian GTFO.

Warriors, do not use shouts. Shout warriors can also walk home with the Altruistic Guardians, Warriors are for pure DPS, Full zerker. There is no other use for them.
I can tell you this: If you want to save yourself a lot of time in the future, you can back up your install easily enough. Once it’s done, copy the entire folder to a portable hard drive or USB stick large enough to hold it. Then, if you ever need to reinstall, just copy it back and run it, and it will update from there.
That’s sort of dirty. You would also need to copy registry entries and possible system files it installs to other directories. It might work now but it might not work in the future. I’ve seen mmo patches make changes to registry keys (other games), it happens. I haven’t really tracked install files with this game client, I’ve gotten lazy perhaps since another mmo I sub to offers backups from within the patching program, as well as a repair tool that actually works. But if you do it this way, don’t be surprised if you wind up needing to re-install at some point.
I believe, but i could be wrong, that the built in repair functions will patch those components and that takes only a tiny fraction of the time that the maps, textures, audio files, etc take to download.

No… they run it with less than 5 people in less time than pugs take because they aren’t godawful at the game mechanics and then sell the open spots. It’s easier than trying to carry those 3 people through from start to finish.
