can you explain what you are doing? It just looks stupid to me.

I don’t really see what your missing. Just like Chewy explained. We let other servers do the work for us when to comes to breaking the wall or knocking down the door. We run in behind them and go to one of our hiding spots. The group leaves and we wait 5+ min for the lord buff to wear off and the tower to clear out. We walk up, kill lord, and take the tower for our server.

The point of our method is that it takes 0 seige to cap a tower. You CAN solo one using Chewy’s build but it takes forever. A group of 2 can cap in 30-50 seconds flat with full zerk gear. Parties of 5 can flip a tower in 20-30 seconds with little effort.

We started making these videos as a way to encourage other methods of play in WvW. It breaks up the zerg when they have to try and counter us. On our end it can be really exciting when we have fights in the bottom of towers to try and wipe their team and cap a tower all before the point tally.

One quick note! If you found our videos interesting and want to start duo/trio or w/e capping with us feel free to PM myself or Chewy for a guild invite. We use Vent and Mumble (mostly Vent) and are willing to share more tactics. The guild is Love And Friendship [Love] and we have several thieves in it. The interesting thing about our new videos though is that ANYONE can come with us and hide in our AoE stealth circles!

They can stealth, exit combat and map jump.

If this is true,then it should be fixed that thiefs can no longer use a wp while just in combat and stealthing.Becuase i think i see this happen WAY to often where a thief just straight up dissapears never to come in sight again.This happens very often with nooby thiefs try to jump me with their google pwn build, but now hit something that knows how to handle them,theyr options to escape are too broad,especially if the above is true.

You’re kidding right? Sure there are a ton of bad thieves but it is way to easy to hit you with CnD then heartseeker in the opposite direction your running then simply exit combat. I never, repeat, never need to wp away from people.

They should revert this change asap. Even at t2 entire zergs can go unnoticed. Personally I think there should be different colors of swords.

EX: Blue for 5-9, Yellow 10-14, Orange for 15-19, Red for 20-25+

I can’t picture a rank system being good in reality. How would the game award rank points? Is damage valued over healing? If you run a healing build what is stopping people from moving out of your heal fields, giving you a lower rank? How does condition damage ranking work when you have a group of five people geared for it (shared stacks prevent ranking)? Dodging should award rank but it could be abused.

If you mean a ranking system based off of a win/loss ratio of dungeon completion, how is that fair to the skilled players who get unlucky with bad players every time?

If it is available for Fractals, there would have to be an AR gating system so people can’t just click “queue for L26” and expect to be carried.

It might be a convenient tool, but it will not be simple for ANet to implement.

Your reading way to deeply into a rating system. As for queing for fractles you could only que for the level you have unlocked.

The last thing I ever want to see in Guild Wars would be a armor rating system. However it would be nice to see a rating system to que players with similar skilled players. No this would not be a simple thing to start and im sure they have discussed it before. But if the community demands it then they will sink some money into developing it.

I know this might need to be moved to “Suggestions” but here it goes anyways…

Lets have a dungeon finder in GW2! It would be simple to use and allow players from all servers to connect on a common ground quickly. Have a button on the top bar similar to the WvWvW and PvP buttons that would allow you to pick a dungeon and que for it! It would be that simple and to unlock the dungeon just make it to where you need to clear the explorer on that toon! If they wanted to go a level deeper a path option after picking the dungeon could also be selected.

As for a rating system it would be simple as well! Based on the path/dungeon you would receive rating points. Obviously this would be to pair similar skilled players with each other but could also double as a feature to volunteer yourself to “teach” lower ranked players.

Right now many players know about http://gw2lfg.com/ and use it to find parties but still isn’t perfect by any means. An in game tool would allow players to que together faster, smoother, and without delay.

One of the other big advantages of this would be clearing up /map chat and take out the overflow hopping in LA for the average player.

Anyways… anyone with me on this?

Even though I don’t see this an an exploit because it is as simple as using a skill near a wall soloing a tower takes way to much time to be an issue. It’s a little shady how your achieving perma stealth but all it would take is one half kitten player to run in there and stop you. My duo buddy and I can cap a keep in roughly 30-40 seconds now though after hiding in it using our methods. When our third is on we can do it even faster/smoother too.

Before I start investing my laurel on even more berserker gear I want to know if there is going to be any point other than getting a little more power and precision. I’ve heard that the cap is 250% and our base crit is 150%. I for one have 100% right now and just want to know if I can take my damage even further.

Upleveled warrior that was probably wearing zerker gear + Frenzy.

Actually I can confirm it was a fully geared upleveled ele. They used mistform after I CnD’d them on the ground. The only reason why I don’t have a picture of the corpse is because there were 4-5 around them so I was just doing a quick hit and run on my way to OL.

Anyone feel like you should be able to que an upgrade using your badges of honor? I don’t know about most of you but I don’t have a lot of money but I do seem to have a never ending supply of badges. I would like to see these go to other use than a one time buy of armor or siege.

Very simple to do and very rewarding if used with a friend.

What you need:
2 Thieves
Hide in shadows
Blinding Powder
Smoke Screen
Dagger mainhand

What you do:
Use Hide in shadows and blinding powder every time they are off cool down. Take turns using Smoke screen with you duo buddy in combination with heart seeker to stack the combo field stealth on yourself.

THAT’S IT!!!

Still doesn’t mean you see it often. I think it would be fun to see this being used versus us and on our server. Just like a Mesmer sweep a thief sweep would help break up the zergs even more.

Maybe. I always run behind the lord and BS over and over again anyways. S/D doesn’t deal as much single target damage as D/D does and that’s all that really matters once it’s down to just the lord.

If the people in the tower didnt see the big cloud of smoke from smoke screen then I doubt they would have seen the thieves if they just stood there.

That has happened before as well. People really give others too much credit in this game when it comes to the common skill level.

Do you think Cloak and Dagger was meant to use on doors? Just curious.

Does damage to the door. You can even back stab a door if you want. You can CnD off siege and anything that can take damage from you so I would have to say yes. The only debatable thing is if they want you hitting a wall with CnD. But as you can see from the videos we never do that.

You really think this matters? Any class can take towers if the wall is busted down.

Making an unlimited stealth build is more of a detriment then anything, the players you were fighting really weren’t paying attention to you, and they payed the price for it.

You realize the wall wasn’t down? The point is to be able to wait inside of a tower unnoticed until you can recap it. It’s to counter zergs…

Due to some requests and boredom we decided to see if we could juggle towers again. Turns out QL was where the fun was again tonight. Once again with two thieves and no exploits.

And then after waiting for it to flip again SoR came and took out the wall. We were able to repair and defend until we got the point tally. Video takes place right after they cap.

All stealth skills for every class need a Revealed debuff to trigger as soon as any stealth period ends.

Noone should have to play hide & seek AoEing every wall, gate or siege equipment finding theifs abusing the culling.

And FYI there’s a Thief on SoR who solo’s towers and he also hides legit.

I’ve soloed before but because of my zerk gear it makes it kinda hard to stay alive. Seems like the magic number though is 3 for a quick cap without getting noticed.

Going stealth by hitting a wall is an exploit because you get no reveal debuff. Great work exploiting.

We were hitting a door smart one. Doors will still apply the debuff.

If you use C&D on a tower wall while stealthed it doesn’t cause revealed, and you can stack arbitrary amounts of stealth without having to worry about timing. That’s pretty definitely an exploit, and this guy admits to using it. Just because he doesn’t do it in this one video doesn’t mean it’s not his usual tactic.

I’ve used the wall trick many times. Not denying it. I still don’t see it as exploiting. But seeing as it will likely get patched we adapted to using a new method. I also go requests from my guild leader and others on my server to hold off on using it until it gets addressed by the GM’s. Until then I am going to hide inside and slap a door over and over and achieve the same end result.

Honestly man I’ve seen a lot of GS-S/D rangers pop up. A ton of gap closers and opener in those builds. Usually they go beast-master though. Looks fun.

Just re-watched the fight. I didn’t see anything wrong with the fight. We grouped the NPCs to cluster bomb them. The lord wasn’t even hooked on any wall he just stopped fighting.

@This whole kitten one sided debate about us abusing the lords AI

We didn’t. I haven’t honestly re-watched this video to watch for that part but I have seen him do some crazy kitten in the past. We even had a time at Anz where a ele came to stop us, we turned on the ele and killed them, then the lord ran over to res the ele. Obviously this gave us free reign to apply massive DPS to him and drop with ease.

The point is we didn’t abuse any AI issue. We precast Thieves Guild on the way up the ramp so we don’t get melted the moment we enter the fight. Ambush trap is also applied every time it is up so the pocket thieves soak up damage. When it’s just the lord all we need to do is take turns throwing down the Ambush Trap and using CnD so the lord turns his attention to the NPCs we spawn.

Wouldn’t have happened if the other server didn’t just Zerg through their conquest not giving 2 kittens about the tower and for that reason they deserved to lose it like this.

You have no idea how many towers we cap this way. We literally stay in towers and watch the map for White/Orange swords to find out next target. We had a run once were we got seven towers back to back to back doing this.

We didn’t abuse culling though. We just hid in the keep and killed anyone who stayed in. They could have EASILY called out to their server “Hey there are people still inside of QL killing people. Mind lending a hand so they don’t take the tower?” but they didn’t. Like I said if we abused anything its betting on how brainless zergs are.

I don’t understand you at all. We didn’t try and glitch the lord. We can handle him either way. We were hiding near the door. Most people dont turn around and if they do they aren’t going to see us on an offhand glance because of stealth. If someone were to pay attention they would notice the door rocking back and forth over and over and swords never go away. We didn’t abuse any glitch.

As for not casting SoS most every player in the game grabs it for the +25% movement speed. Only in RARE occasions do I find casting a blind to be worth losing my speed. Never do I use it on another player because all they have to do is swing once in the air and its gone.

The only abuse in this vid is the bad AI going in numb mode for most of the fight, seen that happen more often and obviously makes killing the lord a lot easier though i doubt they intended that ^^

Most of the lords freeze up for some reason. I’ve done this dozen of times without it happening though and it doesn’t really affect us that much. With groups of 3-5 we can drop the lord is about 10-20 seconds easy.

I’m curious how long it takes you to figure it out after saying this; because it looks like what was done was not accidental.

Hint: Review the difference between “exploiting” and “hacking”. I would typically count rendering abuse of repeated stealths [with zergs on screen] as an exploit [if I felt it were really overt], but I did not in this case.

Are you kidding me? You’re saying we were abusing culling? All we did was follow a zerg into a tower and hide in it using stealth. Waited for lord buff to wear off then cap. I don’t see an exploit of any nature here other than zergs being zergish and running out the moment something is theirs.
