How about they just add more useless crap that everyone wants to the gem store, fix bugs, and don’t make new content (other than more gem store crap for money) so they can save up for new servers?

Yes I had fury. Thrill of the crime and furious retaliation makes it to where you hold fury the entire time your bursting your target. I don’t understand why that’s an issue though. The numbers produced don’t change.

Mug is still awesome. You kiddies that needed it to crit don’t deal enough damage as our base.

Thieves win in style though. Party Rock dance plus actual clothes instead of the bladed latex S/M suits.

Flashing blades would be OP. But nothing beats prema shadow form before they nerfed it in PvP. Used to roam around all day in AB with that kitten. Note you damage output was pathetic but you had the power to kitten everyone off that the same time. Stupid touch rangers were my only bane…

My set is full zerk. Like 100% of my gear is zerk. I use sigil of force on almost all my weapon sets somewhere and when those numbers were taken it was with a 30/30/0/0/10 build. Below is a picture of my stats when I was roaming in EB hitting those numbers. The build is trash in anything but a 1v1 but it will still give you a giggle or two doing it.

Flux was so stupid. It just made new “flavors” of the month even more powerful. I would like to see weekend specials like they had in gw1. Would be nice to get x2 exp if you were in Tyra or have boss bounties like the Z missions.

I rock a 10/30/30/0/0 and lack 15K back stabs VERY often. Curry food with sharpening stone, blood lust stacks, assa siggy, and the will to dive with full zerk gear adds up to some crazy numbers.

So with the new signet buff I was actually able to hold a 102% crit chance. Keep in mind that’s not using hidden killer rather EVERY attack I used was going to have a capped 100% crit chance. I know if I went with rabid gear I could get the crit chance higher but I don’t think there is much of a reason to break 102% lol.

Just a example of the dmg output on various players in WvW
(all were 80 and the damage range is just general from several players killed with each skill)

10-15K pistol whips
9-13K unloads
7-14K backstabs

The one I like the most was Haste -> Unload spamming. People would drop in a heartbeat. The PW spam was only good versus a guard or warrior because of their health pools. Back stab is always that much for me (hidden killer usually) so nothing new there.

It should be public knowledge. I’m all for sneaky skilled play but I enjoy it more when I get to fight it. Thief sweeping should be done imo.

Are you joking? I ALWAYS take 30 in shadow arts to maximize my stealth and seeing a 10K+ back stab is nothing special for me. You just don’t know how to build a thief.

Well this is a little different. There is like an invisible wall that kills anything that touches it. I used death shroud to eat that damage and it instantly put me in the downed state instead. Almost as soon as that happened I was teleported into the asuran jail cell you can see in the picture.

I’ve seen that happen before. Back when you used to be able to CnD walls (stack it at least) that one section of the wall never worked for me.

I personally always take Signets Of Power for the 5 stacks of might when I pop the signet. Most people don’t live past 5 attacks anyways…

A buddy of mine was trying one day to hit the bottom or Rata Sum to take a look around. After several attempts he ALMOST made it but was way pointed back to Rata Sum. To his supprise he was locked in the empty cell at the prison. I wanted to test it myself and sure enough it worked. Below is a screen shot taken today.

I just don’t understand why you would want it in the first place.

Off what Shinra said it is way to simple to leave a mesmer in a tower. Go cap a supply camp during the time the lord has his buff on. Then return to the exact same tower for the capture. When it comes to sweeping we only need to dodge the initial cap. If we can make it past that there is no issue in leaving someone (mesmer) with mass invis to cover themselves. Don’t point the “exploit” finger at myself or anyone using the tag [Yumm]. Talk to some members from our server that frequent EB and they can confirm for you in our Team/Map chat that we even call out with plenty of “lol what idiots” and “still sitting in (tower) waiting on buff”.

The downed system is awesome. In the middle of a fight you don’t just give up and hope other players will come to your aid. You fight and fight to try and down someone else or finish off another downed player so you can re-enter the brawl. People that “abuse” the downed system by running around hitting everyone so they can go balls deep into the opposing lines to kill someone else is just a good player.

tl:dr – The downed system is awesome. Anyone who can utilize it is just a good player.

I run full scholar myself. Used to run full ruby orb. I’ve also played with full divinity. Have to say full scholar is worth every penny I spent on it. Something a lot of thieves will over look though is Vampirism runes. If you don’t mind toning down your dmg a bit the extra healing/dmg from the life steal and mist form on >10% is amazing if your diving with full glass gear.

I’ve noticed more ppl running from 1v1’s more in this game than any pvp game I’ve ever played lol. Its funny though, they quickly turn around when they see friends coming to help. This happens from every server I’ve played against though, not singling any out.

So I was hearing something about FA is better than TC? I think I’ve only ever seen TC lose to them once and every other time it’s just a server to chase around for loot bags. Why do I keep hearing from random FA players added me to party that our server is trash?

There are also Sigils to rip boons. I really should have posted this in the WvW forum or General. Stealth is a main ability of thieves but is not unique to them. A mesmer could mass stealth a zerg (they already do) and a good one can shut it down almost as fast. Personally I would never trait for boon duration because it would shut down my damage and as someone above me posted we would be doing nothing in that timeframe. Trolls will be trolls and baddies the same when it comes to slapping on a heal and just running away for 5~10 seconds but they are running because they can’t do kitten to you anyways.

tl;dr Making it a boon would just make counters. People want a “hard” counter to stealth instead of just swinging around and throwing down AoEs so give them one and as a trade off return the revealed duration.

Well that’s just it. A aware Mesmer could counter a veil.

This would be a nerf/buff at the same time and stop all the crying about stealth. If stealth was a boon you could GAIN more just by having boon duration specs in your trait tree. On the flip side if you target has boon removal then they can just rip it right off you. This would also hand classes that don’t normally have stealth skills the chance to use it with the right runes.

The main thing is I was revealed to go back down to 3 seconds and instead give players the power to counter stealth.

If someone dies to HS spam it’s because they don’t know what a dodge roll is. Simple as that.

I just believe that ANET could change the unload skill. Since when one is wielding P/P, there is no escape mechanism apart from using deception skills etc, they could at least change unload to be a something like withdraw/roll of initiative. Instead of just evading, while evading, thieves unload their bullet. Not only it will look cool, but it will solve some problem faced by P/P thieves and also some love for P/P. Just my thoughts though.

I LOVE the idea of adding a dodge to unload. Make the unload time faster and treat it like DB. It would be an amazing way to burst/dps a target and would make you think about when to use it.

I just enjoy how you can sit at 900 range with glass gear in dungeons and not give a flying hoot. I do WvW mostly so going P/P is just asking for someone to come and destroy your world but if you catch someone off guard you can still rip them a new one quickly.

So I was kittening around in PvE with a P/P build I made. Was dealing 7~9K unloads and I could do about 6~10 unloads before running out. It only took a few moments of dodging and using the auto attack before I could go for another round of unloads. Just gotta say I severely underestimated how powerful P/P could be in PvP. The damage was done on the Cursed Shore using full zerk gear btw.

I really don’t see why there is so much hate on this thread. Hiding in stealth isn’t a “hard” thing to do and it isn’t a “hard” thing to counter. We move around dodging peoples line of sight. If they can see our red ring it leads to either a /t “hey come to (tower) and help me stop these thieves” or that person forcing us out. There are plenty of ways to counter our tactics and 99% of them involve just standing NEAR the area we are in. That’s it! The reality is we can duo towers quickly because we have been doing it for months and know all the good tacos to use.

tl:dr – Chewy made this thread because we want to see more people trying out duo capping teams.

Side Note: Both of us can solo towers. I’ve done it a few times myself. The problem lies in how long it takes. We duo because it is easier to stay in stealth for extended periods of time and when it comes time to cap it takes us roughly 30-45 seconds for a full capture. In that time someone needs to notice that white swords popped, call it out in chat, then go check it out.

No. Zergs are mindless. SO kittenING MINDLESS. You will be fine as long as you hide well enough.

Pretty much I guess. We do dozens of tower flips a day (althought KC seems to be catching on but FA is still as stupid as ever). We have gone as fast as to drop the lord in roughly 12 seconds but the 30 second runs are done with lord kill and tower flip. He’s not saying the tower is done 30 seconds after it is flipped but after we go into combat and the fight starts.

………I play 100% glass. I go in 1vX all the time. I leave healthy all the time. My cluster bombs hit people on walls for 3~8K dmg. My backstabs are insane. I can heal past anything but a zerk warrior who gets lucky on his kill shot.

Well stealth in this game isn’t meant to be used as an opener. Its meant to be an agro drop, or an escape.

I have no idea what you’re talking about. Many times I use Hide In Shadows just so I can get behind someone for a BS or jump them with the mug>cnd>bs combo.

25 stacks of bleeding + neverending poison.. it wouldn’t take ages and you can do it immediately after cap. no need to wait 5 minutes to start engage.

Our speed is pretty fast as is. I would rather not draw swords.

No zergs are stupid. We do this all the time and RARELY do people stop to sweep. We will usually put Blinding Powder on our bar as well so we can stack stealth without being noticed by someone sweeping by.
