The greatsaw skin only dropped during October 2012, there haven’t been any new ones created in over a year. And there probably will never be any new ones, so pretty much the only skins available are already on the TP as sell orders. You aren’t going to be able to get one with a buy order.

“Power traders” have nothing to do with it, the greatsaw skin is extremely rare so you will have to be willing to pay the asking price to get one.

Well I don’t mind paying the fullprice, but i’m sure it wouldnt be from random people.. They disappeared from TP for a few days, then came back on 1.5k gold, I don’t think everyone put them on at the same time..

I think that is just a people play, but it can also be a bot. Unfortunately I dont think anyone will sell any buy order because they would rather undercut sell orders to get as much gold as they can.

It’s an old skin and many people just have it used, only few people have it for sell, most of them won’t get desperate enough to fill buy order.

In other words, buy it from the offers is most likely only way you can get it.

As a pvper I don’t make alot gold.. So I went in PvE and made 1k gold..
But everytime i put a buy order it gets overbid by 1 coper????

It is a terrible experience indeed. The only thing to make it a bit more fun is playing builds u are having fun with, ignoring the ladder and having team chat off.

Beside the afking part, it’s filled with people that have the worst attitude when u say something that is actually a good advice.
I admit i raged alot in Soloq, but when you just want to play but having so many trouble in Soloq with different aspects, It’s really hard not to flame.

Alright it was a cynical joke, it’s hard to stay positive when ArenaNet have kept Ele’s at the bottom of the food chain for so long now while other classes/builds got buffed through the roof.

Their latest and most extensive attempt at “buffing” Ele’s (Dec 10 patch) made a lot of Ele players deeply concerned that ANet have absolutely no clue what to do with the class. The patch broke many builds and utterly failed to address ANY of the core issues with the class, and that’s not even mentioning Diamond Skin.

Obviously they don’t want the class eliminated from SPvP, but they are making it extremely difficult for Ele players to not just re-roll something else like Engineer or Mesmer and have some proper fun in SPvP for once.

I see.. Well, with Anet u never know what is gonna happen.. To be honest.

To answer your question, it’s the complete OPPOSITE of “elementalist meta” right now. Ele is the last class anyone considers bringing to SPvP since their weaknesses vastly out-weigh their strengths when compared to any of the 7 other classes.

Don’t let that stop you from experimenting though, if you genuinely enjoy how the class plays then keep playing it. ANet wants to remove the class completely from SPvP but we need people like you to stay loyal to it

So I met this guy in Soloq. R59, is afk first five minutes of the match, then starts flaming us.. This is not reasonable.

Then later after the match he pmed me the following:
‘I afk when I want’

Anet, do something against afkers please, it’s been long enough now.

Just had a thief that was afk for first 4mins of the match. When he came back he told us that it is our problem that he is afk, it didn’t matter at all according to him.
We had to shutup and l2p. So cool.

You’ve got a finisher he will not have for many months.

You’ll get into good teams, instead of crappy ones, by account of your experience. He’ll have to wing it with other lesser experienced people.

I don’t get people who complain about not being rewarded for playing a lot. The playing itself should be a reward. You know how to play better than him, what more do you want?

If he wants to get better, he’ll have to play as much as you. If you want an icy dragon sword, all it takes you is a week of farming PvE, and you’ll have enough gold to make it.

If you ask me, he’s got the crappier deal.

Monthly tournament like in GW1, yes please! And make daily automated tournaments too! Just like GW1, this is already so much competition.
Oh and with monthly, dont let everything shoutcast, but put the games on observermodes. Keep shoutcasting for special tournys like ESL or something.

If u don’t get any matches with 4v5 you’re allright. Same when you are nearly never getting r1s.
The case is that alot people have unlucky matches.

It’s called runic blade in PvP, don’t know the recipe though, tought it’s r70.

My opinion is that we should make the current TeamQ a guildQ.
Like u can only join with 3/4 of ur guild and 1/2 not from ur guild. Like in GW1, it was a huge succes, seeing your Guildname in HoH for example..

Anyway I’m rank 57 I have 3000+ tournament wins ( solo and team arena combined ), I have been at 50% to top 100 on leader boards so I have a decent perspective of his games pvp and I like to play hot join from time to time most of all because at mid day I will get teamed up with people who join solo q and ask in map chat what is this place and how can I leave. So I join a hot join and then some person say ‘’ hah your rank 57 you must have jumped a lot’’ not that I care what other ppl think or say but I felt kind of sad, and disappointed because of all the wins I had are now IN VAIN. If you truly remove ranks then think VERY LONG AND kitten what reword you will give to people with a lot of tournament wins, because if you mess this up you will lose many players and then once again ALL WILL BE VAIN

Getting no reward would be another big disappointment for the people who sticked with TPvP when it was not really rewarding.

Can u tell us about the finishers please, howlong we have until we can’t achieve ranks on the current way?

The fail idea of ranks was giving rank points for hot joins, and even more than for tournaments. Also, how can U want to give finishers based on lbs lol. Fix mm than we can talk.

It’s something that could be possible.
I don’t want this myself, because with the decay u will get tons of different finishers without staying on the same spot.

True indeed, casual pvp player is r40-50 but playing like a r20 to be honest..

Whats funny is you. Most of the achievement players at the top are all GOOD sPvP players. I realize a lot of people lack the logic that some people play all game modes, not just one like you might. There have been a lot of achievements that were harder than these but much faster and easier(granted you were good) to earn, like crab toss win during the living story every single day, or throwing 8 crystals at lidari. All of these harder achievements mean you can play well, even sPvP. If they weren’t good or decent at the game they wouldn’t be among the top ranks to begin with.

Uhm no. Being good at PvE and having alot of APS doesn’t mean you’re good at PvP. Just not.

1. The Ranks:

At the moment the Skyhammer farmers are a big discussion.
We should keep in mind that ranks mean nothing anymore. I remember myself working for r50 a year, didn’t want to play Hotjoin and finally got it after a year.
I didn’t have to time to play alot so it took a bit longer, and i had a 4 months break.
So when i finally got it, Skyhammer farm showed up, and people got r60 in just two months. Couldn’t believe it, and was very disappointed in Anet that they didn’t directly do something against it.

When I see a Marauder Tittle, or even a Ravager Tittle, they aren’t that good as they should be.
As example:

• I had a r61 Thief, which was playing without Shortbow, and he complained by himself that he couldnt escape. At r61 u should be aware of the fact that the Thief’s shortbow is ur escape weapon.
• I saw a r60 Elementalist in an enemy’s team that said his team didn’t know anything about GW2 mechanics at all, because he was a bunker with Rabid Amulet.
• And as last a r57 Engineer that was playing this heal kit, and he just ran into three man of the other team and died instantly.

I know that u can test builds around, but my opinion is that at their Rank, they just farmed the skyhammer.

The examples I gave, and had in my team, are just a few. Alot more of these story’s around. In my opinion they show that the current Rank system doesn’t show its worth anymore as it did before.

2. The Finishers:
The Finishers are our mark of achievements. The PvErs like to show their thing by having Legendary’s, A-points etc.
Since people ranked up so much, the Finishers are also not anymore a true mark.
It is sad, but the thing is, they are still awesome.
The Question I have is mostly: ‘How long do we have until the changes are coming, and are PvPers still able to get them individually?’
Because to be honest, if it is based on the ladders, I think of the following things:

• It is based on ur current position on the ladder. Example: Top 25 = Dragon, top 50 = Phoenix.
• You unlock Finishers when u pass for example top 200 and you’re unlocking Tiger Finisher.
• At end of the month you unlock the finisher within the ladder. Example: Top 10 = Dragon unlocked, and next month you’re top 50, unlocking Shark.

The question I have is around how long it will take until the Ladders are in the game?
At the moment I’m trying to get my Shark finisher, just to make sure i have it… And not having it depending on my Ladder spot or something in that direction.
I am very glad with the increased rank points per win, but the question is, will it help enough?
If it is going to be ‘depending on the ladderspot’, I think it is very disapointing for PvPers.
Some of us played a while for the current rank by just playing tournaments.
Wouldn’t it be fair if we get rewarded for our played TPvP wins?

I would like to hear others thoughts and opinions about this.
Maybe we can find some other ways to change the current system in a good way.

Edit: the PvP achieves are mostly added for the PvPers to make more achievements by playing the thing they like to play.

I aint bashing. I am trying to prevent this to happen.
Pvers need to keep their hands off PvP by this way.

But they must reward Tpvp players for their won tournaments first, else the skyhammer farmers are going to show off their Tittle too..

Agreed, the point is also that the PvErs are tricky as what.
The money linked to wins in PvP, and they directly cross to PvP.. Before that PvP was nothing for them, and they are just being greedy and thinking they can make more money here.
Sad thing is that it isnt GW1, where PvPers ruled the economy.

They are disapointed that it is hard to win for this little amount, meanwhile we PvPers are driven in the corner by them, since we have LOADS of PvErs in soloq now.

As Empa mentoined, it is true that they dont get the mechanics at all. In PvP it isnt zerging with best gear against mobs with tons of people.
Then they wonder why their ‘skills’ arent functioning like in PvE. Since PvErs are the gods, they just flame the PvPers because in PvE they can do everything easy.

The thing is that you basicly CAN’T get decent MMS unless you’re in top 100.

The problem is that when u aren’t in top 100, u win 1match, but then u lost like 3.

Why do I have to lose three times in a row , Anet? Why, why and why?
U can be unlucky, but everytime it’s because of this failed MM.

Are you going to do something against this? Quite done with this kitten now.

Story 1) You really tried to be nice and helpful by explaining to the new comers the basics of the maps. If you get a newbie in your team, the standard way to handle it is to ask him/her to stay at the home node, don’t die and call incoming; but since such players don’t even know how the cap circle works they keep getting trolled and they wander away, leaving the node to be stolen for most of the game. Then even worse, they feel embarrassed and log out.

Story 2) You find your 4 teammates being trolled around the orb in Spirit Watch without owning one single node. Then after the match you look at the ranks and you realize you are in a team of rank 1-20s playing against a team of 30-50s.

Story 3) Your teammate with a rabbit finisher and combat healer title tries to take down an enemy on the Skyhammer cannon but keeps getting knocked off ledge. So you go to help him even though you know you are in great disadvantage since the portal is bugged. You tell your rabbit teammate that he/she should practice at the normal queue to get a better idea of what this map is about. Then your rabbit teammate says you are an kitten for not typing (2 paragraphs?) to explain how this map works.

Story 4) At the Temple of the Silent Storm your 4 teammates run in one by one and get wiped at Gate. Your home is stolen without resistance. You are at a far node and you know an opponent thief is hiding around waiting for help. So you stayed and your team who just died thinks you are afk because you didn’t die. After the match, you look at the player ranks and again you know why.

5th story: When they lose, the best players farmed skyhammer according to them. Because PvErs think they are the best, and it cant be true that a PvPer is better so he must have played ‘the skyhammer farm’.

I also once had a flamer that told me i played ‘Skyfire farm’. Such a laugh.

Since we can make money with PvP, I would like to win a match to be honest…
Last days were fully themed in the Glicko hell.

When is the MM gonna be fixed? I am not having any fun losing all matches.

We true PvPers sticked with PvP, even when the rewards were absolute crap.
We can’t pay armors, and meanwhile PvErs try to stop Anet for giving us gold for played tpvp. Sad.

Have been working for my r50 so hard, through all these tournament matches.
After a long break, going for the Shark Finisher now, would be quite disappointing if this all would have been for nothing.

I am mostly very happy with the incoming changes to PvP.
We are able to earn money, the ladder will be ingame soon, new game modes are in the make and we will be able to get new ultilities soon!

But let’s start off with something that is really bothering me.
The pvers are directly crying at the forum when PvP is FINALLY getting something new that might actually work.
PvErs dont have any right to cry about a PvP update, u guys BARELY have anything to do with it. We are finally getting a few new things in PvP, I dont see just one reason for PvE to cry about it.
I know it will hurt PvE when PvPers are maybe having a chance to become rich, but please, u guys are getting served every month with living world contents, also, incoming PvP updates are also affected with PvE.

Sadly they are removing the finishers that are linked to ranks.. At the moment, after a long time break, I finally found a new goal. Which is getting the Shark Finisher.
I dont think it’s a good idea to remove the finishers, its a mark of PvP.
Although we have tons of PvErs that were farming skyhammer, also PvPers actually, they became high rank in no time.
It’s quite disappointing when i worked a year for my r50, without Hotjoin or skyhammer farming.
I’ve played the game very active, had lasts 3-4 months a lot inactivity, but found a new reason to play on… So I truly hope Anet wont give this disappointment to us, the players who have been very active this year, I know enough players who are having the same opinion about this.
I guess that is going to be impossible now, since i dont have alot of time to get in a short period. Unless the remove of finishers is very late.

I had three idea’s I’d like to point out.

• Putting the rank linked finishers in the Gemstore, so Anet can actually also make profit of it, and the players can get their favourite Finisher.

• Let the Glory Vendors sell Rank Bags or something like this. So we can use our Glory on it until it gets removed. To be honest, I’m not in the need of more Rank Chests.

• Sell the Ranked Finishers for Glory at the Glory Vendors, so we also have a chance getting them by this way.

Can’t wait for 10 December. PvP is finally getting at a new point where it can develop very well.
