They pm and tell me it, that’s how I know it. I fully agree with your arguments and been stunned that people take it serious from some random gamer.. But I guess it’s very hard to imagine this, when you’re not having any problems with this by yourself..
Also, if they’re not having support from their family/friends, they can use games as an escape for their feelings.. And if they get these insults there also.. I can imagine that’s very hard, feeling like all people dislike you..

Although in most countries it’s quite okay now, but in many it isn’t.. So it’s also depending on many factors.. Complexity…

So I am basically creating this post, in hope I can reach out a helping hand to some players.

I personally only play PvP, so it has to do the most with that aspect of GW2. You can find me a bit in PvE, but not that much. I wasn’t sure if I should post it here or in the PvP forum.. The thing i noticed is the following; alot of people are getting insulted in PvP.
And by insulting I mean not like; ’you’re a random or ‘l2p’. No. I mean insults that affect their color, gender, or preferred sexuality.

Many PvP players know me, also the fact that I’m gay. I am proud of this, but many pmed me for help. I find this very sad for these people, It’s a game, you don’t know the person saying to you ‘you suck’, and you’re taking it serious. People don’t know what they can do to other people with their words.. I gave an funny example, no one actually cares in PvP if you suck.. But the point is, many insult with things that are worse, I won’t put it here, because I am not sure if it’s allowed. But I guess you can fill it in by yourself.

I find it shocking that people are pming me, asking for help about how to deal with this. The point is, they are also probably hearing this in real life.. They have the feeling they aren’t allowed to be alive of being their self..

Please, think before saying.. It’s easy raging on someone behind a computer.. Everyone can do it, it’s sickening that people are going this far for a game. Faith in humanity is sometimes very low… Threat others like you wanted to be threatened.. Sometimes it’s hard not to say something uncool.. I know this, but just don’t mess with things like color or sexuality..

Yeah they really kittened up by bringing all these guys with their legendary weapons in sPvP… They’ve wasted their time to do their weapons because they liked to have them in WvW/PvE (you couldn’t use them in sPvP).

Yes, I feel jealous because I don’t have any chance to get a legendary weapon (or put an exclusive awesome skin here) just by doing sPvP… none
I won’t do 1 or 2 months of full PvE just to get a legendary weapon… I’m so kittening bored in PvE… The only thing that keeps me play this game is : skin, and that forces me to PvE… Why keep playing this game?

There’s still no more game modes, no 2vs2, 3vs3 Arenas. No capture of flag. No really fun stuffs. No real ranking. No challenge. No interesting rewards. No real balances (plenty of builds are still not viable).

(I’ve already done a lot of pauses, and I still have no reason to resume the game. A-net staff is sleeping, at least that’s what I feel. Did they even play their own game?)

True that, T6 mats are barely dropping. But don’t worry, we CAN get legendaries by PvP.
Just one will take a year or two. Meanwhile in PvE you can get like 10 legendaries, if you’re doing it smart.

Wow, I actually didn’t know that there was a limit of gold that you can reach in sPvP… xD
You can reach 35g daily by doing some PvP! Insane ! You just have to win 50 games in TA, 100 in soloQ and 50 in custom arenas. You actually could do it, if a day had 40 hours.

The funny thing with the last patch and this PvP reward track thing… They said you would be able to get legendary weapons, by doing something you love. Liars. You will never get one, if you only do sPvP.

Let’s say, if you can reach the daily limit of 15g, by doing TA, 4 games per hour. It will take you 12-14hours (so your life will be like, sleep; PvP, eat, PvP, sleep,PvP). And let’s say a legendary is around 2500g, 2500/15=167 days = 6 months of PvP-ing 14hour per day… No one ever will do this…
I think the purpose of this patch isn’t getting PvE players into PvP, but PvP players into PvE. I have been able to easily get my warrior lv80, and he was already “half stuffed already” (2 armor, 3 weapons). I don’t see the point at all doing PvE if it isn’t for Legendaries. I understood that I’ll never get any Legendary weapon (thought, I just want the skin, or some real cool skins for weapons) by doing PvP. I don’t know how much you really earn per hour in PvE, but I heard something like 5-10g per hour. I’ve been told that you are able to get one legendary in a month if you are farming well. And I’ve seen a guy who got 1 legendary per char…
Eh.. yeah and if you are coming from PvP into PvE/WvW, be warned that every thing cost really much, and the golds you got from PvP? it’s nothing.
The purple crafts items you get from PvP rewards chests that you are stack by pile of 250, because there’s too much of them? You want to use them? You can, you just need a lot of golds (been told : around 50-100g). It’s like these purple things are infact for PvE players, so they can get them easily; while farming easily golds in pve.
I never thought about doing a legendary, it was no use for *s*PvP. I was happy about this reward track and specially when I read that will be the way for PvP players to get one, and that there will be PvP special track/reward. Imagine my disappointment when I discover ,the lie, that you have no chance to get one by doing PvP.

I just don’t really feel getting real/useful rewards doing PvP, it’s just some PvE stuffs/skins (that I’ve unlocked already, almost). I don’t feel getting any closer to an Legendary, or PvP unique skin (that doesn’t exist, if you consider the backitem is easy to get).

yes, please increase at least the amount of money rewards so we can afford some cool skins from PvE.

That’s true, we are being more rewarded at the moment. But I think it’s quite unfair that they promised -PvP Legendaries- but in fact you just need to carry them over from PvE.
We need our own way to get a legendary.. Thats also what Anet promised.

The reason that this doesn’t exist in PvP is because it’d completely invalidate certain system in PvE. Completely full inventory? Just take your free port to HotM, deposit your crap, take your free port directly back to where you were in PvE, and continue on your merry way.

Btw, they’ve said basically what I said above before as a reason. I’m not sure if they have changed their mind or rethought their position since then.

And again, PvErs scared that their godmode gets touched by PvP. Sometimes I just would love to say a few things to people like you.. Only thinking about their gamemode, the rest doesn’t matter, aslong it doesnt affect your thing.

This is typical for ANet. They replace one half-done system with another one.

If there wasn’t the possiblity to permanently unlock a dungeon track via PvE, I’d bet that the PvP population would sink to pre patch levels again, as soon as the CoF patch comes up.

They could atleast fix a few things.. Like giving more t6 mats.. We are barely getting these. This is compared to PvE atleast, but PvPers are used to the fact that we’re receiving way less than PvE.

I’d like to have a reward track with an exclusive cool weapon (skin). Pretty much something similar to Mistforged Hero’s weapon from WvW tournament, but exclusive to PvP of course.

Would be perfect indeed! Although it must be hard to get in PvP, but it’s relatively easy to grind PvP and still be able to get it.. The track must have high numbers to complete it, imo.

I’ve been reading the forums alot last days, since my computer broke and until its repaired I can’t play. So I am trying to find some good idea’s for new rewards/tracks.

We all have seen that people want FOTM rewards, precursor/map track and so on..
I personally like these idea’s. But maybe we could also use the PvP system in GW1? It would be way better and it’s kinda like the glory system we had. Let PvPers buy as example Zkeys by reward points, earned by TPvP/SOLOQ. We can buy PvE items that are high in price and we don’t ruin the rarity of precursor or legendaries by getting it guaranted from a reward track. Of course we also will be able to buy other skins like backpieces and weapons.

Also, why don’t we implent a monthly tournament? With legendaries for the 1st team, since we can’t give out goldcapes in this game. Anet can use the system they have in GW1? I am not sure if they’r able to use it, because I dont really know alot about these things.

The thing is that we are mostly getting skins as reward from PvP. I personally rather have the choice if I want to sell it or keep it… Because I have no use for many items. When you’re receiving something you can also sell, it will help towards your personal goal, because you’re making gold.

I think it’s no secret that PvP’ers got badly hit by this patch. Some say “Well, something’s better than nothing!”. To which the obvious response is that previously PvP and PvE were separate. Now that the gear has been merged for the two, it’s far worse.

Question – how do you tell a veteran PvP player from a veteran PvE player? So far, only titles. Nothing else. Thank god for small mercies I guess.

Since the rank got reworked, I am not sure how to tell a veteran PvP player.. Because all 53+ got buffed and r53 wasn’t hard to get at all..

A veteran PvE player has achieved above 9/10k+ achievement points, legendary(s), FOTM backpieces, Ascended armor and so on. This is after all my own opinion.

So the reward tracks have been attracting alot of new people to PvP, which is a good thing. I don’t even care if they are weak at PvP, everyone needs time to learn and find out if they like it or not. I think the reward tracks are helping out on that alot.

I’ve asked my friends their opinion on the pvers that are trying out PvE, we found out that it has two sides.

1. The community is getting bigger, leading to more competition after some time. Which can be great, when we are also getting new gamemodes we have more challenge.
2. Alot are frustrated by their unwareness of PvP, which is making them rage alot, reducing their fun in PvP and losing alot matches.

After all I try to help them where I can by giving advice or builds. Sometimes they accept advice, sometimes they tell me that I dont know what I am talking about and they’r continueing capping closepoint with two people when the match starts. At this point I can perfectly understand that PvPers are frustrated and would like to see PvErs dissapear from PvP.

I don’t think that PvPers got rewarded at all, after nearly two years. It’s great that we got new things, but we never got something rewarding. All we had were the skins and finishers. Now the ranks got buffed and the skins are united, that little bit of reward is, atleast for me it is, mostly gone. At the other side, PvErs come in PvP with their Legendaries, FOTM weapons/backpieces and other PvE rewarded skins. That’s good for them, they worked for it. PvPers have no way to get this, but doing PvE. The new reward tracks don’t really work that much towards a legendary. (Map gift, crafting disciplines and so on.)

There are great suggestions and idea’s popping up on the forum about this. But it seems like, mostly PvErs, are directly rejecting these idea’s.. As example the FOTM reward track, Precursor reward track or the Map gift track. These were great idea’s in my eyes, but it seems like some people don’t want us to touch high rewards or they don’t want things to be earnable by different ways.

Please share your own opinions in this thread. Also tell things you’d like to see in the future. Keep it constructive and friendly. Everyone has a different point of view and interest.

If you want fractal weapons, you should have to play fractals imo. Same for things like super adventure box skins (first skin generation being an exception) etc. There are also armor skins that were/are limited to pvp players e.g. stalwart shoulders (medium armor).
While those skins do not represent “skill”, they show that you have successfully played the related content at least a couple of times and they help to encourage players to play that content. Nonetheless I agree that there should be a less random way to obtain fractal weapons but it should be related to fractals and not to anything else.

I fully agree with the time you spent in FOTM and letting the weapon show your experience.. But we should be able to get things by the way we like to play.. PvErs can walk so easy in and out of PvP with their shinies..

Also, if we must be united, why can one side obtain everything relatively easy… And the other side has to do alot of work…. I don’t think this is fair. PvP didnt get a single reward for all the time they sticked to PvP.. Pvers enjoying their legendaries in PvP, we have to do tons of more work before we finally can get them than PvErs, because we havent been in pve.

Honestly adding the dungeon tracks already gives out too many tomes of knowledge and what not. If another fractals track is added and a fractal capacitor is the final reward, I can’t imagine how many pve players that would upset.

Every idea gets rejected, PvE is not special by the way. Grinding there works really good. FOTM weapons do not directly mean you’re an high-end pver. Just lucky having it dropped from a chest, I guess.

I don’t get the point that it’s hard to get a fotm weapon skin.. I think its a matter of luck.. Although maybe the hard part is the grinding then…

Getting a legendary in PvE is not easy except if you use real money to get gems/gold to make it easier. If you use only in-game stuff you’ll need at least a couple of months of hard grind to achieve your goal. That includes grinding for appropriate lodestones and gifts, getting some of the crafting professions to lvl 400 (gifts require them), getting legendary specific gifts, LOTS of very expensive T6 materials and last but not least, a precursor.

I dont care if it took you guys a long time, we received nothing in all this time.

To be honest, seeing the PvErs in soloq with their legendaries, fotm backpieces etc.. And they failed at most points, when you try to help, they are like ‘I am better than you’.

I even got told that I suck, because I got no legendary. Yeah sorry, haven’t been grinding pve but did this in pvp, so I got actually nothing.

That’s grinding, if you’re unlucky. FOTM aint hard with friend groups. I understand that. But in PvP, as example, the old dragon rank wouldve taken YEARS. That was our ‘exclusive thing’. But it’s made easy for people.

I like how you are probably assuming that these ladders are coming soon and that they’ll work perfectly. If they can’t get a much simpler version of this (Leaderboards) to work after a year then I don’t have high hopes for them.

Leaving ‘things’ broken because there may be something better in the future is not how it should be – It is what forces people out of the game to the point where nothing will bring them back.

Sorry but, why work on something broken when something new is nearly coming? It will take more time than it’s actually worth. Of course you don’t have high hopes, you’re frustrated about something no one cares about. Which is making you short sighted.

I just thought you should all know that WE ALL GET 4V5 MATCHES! Stop using that as an excuse. There is a reason why Henry (Lordrosicky) had 3 accounts in the Top 10 of EU SoloQ and that’s because he was the best Necro I have seen so far. He clearly understood where he should be and how long he should stay there for etc.

I highly disagree with you, sir. The fact you’re getting tons of 4v5 is NOT making your LB very pleasant. It’s unfair, you can’t make a good win streak. Neither it’s showing your individual skill level, since you’re still playing as a team. Since both teams can be very different in level, it’s a matter of luck sometimes.

Ele isn’t that fun when you are playing with these. It’s like Warrior then. True ele’s wont be playing this. Atleast I think I wont.

It’s a game, carry on with your real life. Enough threads about this. Anet is doing what is in their reach. If you don’t like it, then do not play it. Easy as that. Summer incoming so enough fun things to do beside GW2.
