You see a bunch of ranger using bow, and very few warrior is spaming rifle in dungeon.

People have the impression ranger are suppose to use bow, due to lore from books/movie/other games.

It’s also that Ranger melee weapons are god kitten ed awful to use. I only leveled mine to 8 but god kitten that perma-hopping with mainhand Sword is super-annoying.

I can almost understand why most Rangers don’t play it.

Sure, at first its awlfull, but with practice you can even manage to dodge with that thing(skill 3)*, its important to never give up o/

*: timing corretly, all u need to dodge SEp1 boss AOE is that kitten skill 3, pet however…

A “pug” who manages to go the forums and READ? that alone solves 80% of the problem :p

Tried once, “AC P1, Pink Dye Only” got a bunch of 80 zerg with ascended not willing to change dye, worse, low lvls with bad build no good skills also not willing to change die.
So i gave up and went full elitist, not perfect but at least keep the faint of heart away.

Yeah i know, done with a good group is super fast. plusi am rolling thief with extra skips, still… man, they u can get ppl running COE, AC, and even doding troll in HotW why CM becomes so frustrating? >.<

They agro on fire eles, because… (put glasses) …they are HOT.

Definitely. That works nicely if you have a thief in your group who doesn’t keep SR on his utilities at all times and uses it as a healing method during fights. Sadly, I’ve seen more of that than I have successful meleeing of Seamus from pugs.

COF: fast even with a 5 necro party.
TA: sweet salad fest.

CM: 3 wars no banner, staffguard no reflecs, GS memer, low lvl bearbow , low lvl thief, or shortbow theif no SS…
I solo P1 devices with my theif, just to see that 11k war/guard getting lost in the mansion

Most necros are bads running condi builds, that at the moment is very bad for dungeons.
Now if you go meta you will be better than most, if others go meta they will be better than you, DPS/Support wise.
Now i find that necro can perform very well in COF P1(most single target mobs) and HotW P1(Bypass Ginva reflect).

“Good player” is very contextual :/
but as above said but retaliation can result in ban.

It didn’t get nerfed, it’s rather got balanced, but still overpopulated. Jeez… you can find TONS of parties any moment, seriously, ask around the server what dungeon ppl do most if you don’t believe me… Lol, I can’t believe the posts I’m reading here, I thought I’m captain obvious, but ppl still argue with me?…

Are there really any dungeons that done as many times and as easily in PUGs as CoF p1? Do I really missing something?

AC P1, CM P1 , SE P1, TA UP – these are fast enough, rewarding money/time investiment. Don’t forget to crate your lfg with “*P1, 80, zerker, experienced”(something like that) to get experienced players.

Please stop these threads and stop responding to these threads. Lfg not working is no excuse. Lfg works for what it is intended for, pugs. You want quality players? Form a guild of people that want the same thing you want. There is actually already at least one multi-server guild that is dedicated to not skipping trash in dungeons so look them up. And if even making/joining a guild of like-minded individuals doesn’t work, then take that as a hint that nobody, literally nobody, wants what you want so you should move on to another game.

I just don’t do 40+ anymore, not worth the time invested.
Even if you get a awesomesauce team, dredge takes a long time.
Got better rewards @ lvl 25~29 and the time it takes to complete is ridiculously shorter even with a average team.
Now i just leave party when we get dredge, really its not worth the time invested.
All i need is dat kitten dagger skin >.<

Any Staff ele here? with double sigil things seemed actually lil stronger, but then i only do AC with it.
Mesmer and GS War still sulking in the corner.

As Always fractal are broken…its from release there are the same issues…just they got worse and devs denied it despite we had a huge statistical evidence (in the past was about rares).

THIS. Did a 29, got dredge, cutted them like butter, then melted molden duo, got nothing, went smooth and fast din’t even get mad.
Some dude got a fractal skin for warhorn. Gonna repeat til get dagger skin. Then i shall be free forever.

Any changes on the build or still the same META after 10/12??

Nec has proven useful in hotw p1. They can bypass the reflects of the last boss with axe, slow his movement with all the chill/crip/immob that comes with them and spike the protect totem with wells or use piercing life blast(yes i know auto attack for axe sux but any competant nec will use life blast for auto). On stair boss they can quickly take out the adds even if they are spread.

though the rare/exotic drop seems to be increased. 3 exotics last run, 2 account bound, buuut kittenty stats

Did a 50 yesterday, thankfully no dredge and a smooth team.
but all i got was a useless infused ring, sooo not impressed.

I run,
Thief for CM, (P1 solo device and trash skip)
Ele for AC (FGS & Icebows for burrows)
Guard TA (Lawnmowing & reflects(specially spider UP))
Ranger HotW (Pugs only range Ginva so…)
Necro COF (lots of Aoe for P2, P1 does not really matter)
I also have a War who is my main, but manly for fractals, but not really focused just… i feel more confortable.
Also baking an Mesmer for SE.
For the rest of the party members Lindbur is spot on.

I did a necro only run once, cof p1 too, with pugs, but it was a mix of builds, (3 powermancer, 2 MM). It took about 8 mins, so yeah, too much hate on necro with all the bearbows and staffguards and shoutheals and gs mesmers around.

My ele, necro, thief and ranger, who run dungeons everyday, on META, is full of your kittens.
As said a billion times,
1) create your own LFG,
2) specify your rules
3) stop being kitten.

Need some shoulder advice.

Just gonna talk on PVE side(Dungeons)
It´s a lot of hard work (right pet for right encounter, spirit up, spotter up, sword up, argh pet dying change pet… ops dodge, kitten sword animation.. pet retreat!, pet attack!, horn buff/axe reflect) compared with other “faceroll” classes, but yes u can be usefull in dungeons, get your story mode done and start your own dungeons, with your own rules and try to get to know your class and you will be fine

You misunderstand, I meant like a random groupfinder that puts your group into a random dungeon. It would match you up faster so you would not have the issue of 1 dungeon asking for a ton of people then the others being completely empty. I am sure they could improve upon what they have to encourage more people to do dungeons because right now.. I don’t think it can get any worse :P

Seems it would “spice” things up as regarding challenge, but myself i would avoid that, i do have some requirements to be fulfilled before accepting party member, and even with those they take a few minutes to fill the party.

For each “requirement” there is a proper response, some quite long, i will attain to the AP one.
To me the AP requirement is the most flawed. I got plenty of 5k++ people under performing on my PuGs (especially CM, got a staff guardian with 11K that got lost on the mansion after i soloed first part with thief). As you already said, u don’t get that much AP from dungeons, so it´s end up getting WvW or sPVP people trying to run dungeons on their PVP builds and trying to give order, that in most part, are quite far from the expected.

I put my staff ele for AC(staff is also… more…PuG…safe…). In AC your will be most of the time in conjure weapons mode. So stack your migh and FG/IceBow to win.
